Park is open from 6 am to sunset year round. Google does not have the ability that I know of to change the hours accordingly so closing time is set to earliest sunset of the year. Boat ramp and day use area with beach. Numerous picnic tables and two pavilions (one is closed). Restroom located near boat ramp. $5 admission or annual pass helps maintain the Lake Lavon parks run by the Army Corp. Of Engineers.

What a dump! Roads are in desperate need of repair. Road to the boat ramp is covered in large potholes. Bathroom facilities are terrible. Glad I checked it out before I brought my boat out there.

Great place to go for a family picnic, or just a place to find serenity & peace of mind. The park is well maintained with picnic tables overlooking the lake. They offer loner life jackets for use to ensure safety on the water. Theres a $5 entry fee that is reasonable & affordable for a fun day in the park for singles, couples, or the entire family to enjoy. Playground: No playground but plenty of space for kids to run & play. Toilets: There is a restroom but it isnt maintained or operational. The one feature in this side of the park that the city should consider upgrading & repair for guest of the park. Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly park, must be leashed. Picnic area: Covered concrete picnic table

Took the family fishing again today. Just 5 bucks to get in for the day without the park pass. Fishing was great, hooked quite a few but only kept two bigger catfish. One channel cat and one blue cat. Picnic area: Multiple covered picnic areas.

The beach needs a clean up. Lots of big rocks could be moved off the beach and some nice sand would make it a lovely spot to play. You would think that some of the $5 to enter would be used for upkeep and cleaning.

Paid the 5 bucks to get in, drove around the park looking for a good place to fish & let the kids explore and drove right out and went to East Fork Park instead. Park was unkept, grass was knee high and lots of dead brush laying round. The roads are deplorable in some areas, huge potholes that you can t avoid. Can t imagine taking my boat or camper through there.

Are you still need some work done to it but for the most part it is starting to bounce back from when we had the flooding that wreaked havok I. Several of the parks and caused some extensive damage to bother the landscape as well as some of the structures. I understand its maintained by the Corp of Engineers which I believe is state funded. Which highlights the need to return the funding to the lakes and parks overseers.

It s very nice place to go during hot summer,great place for fishing,swimming, picnic,paddle boarding and other water sports activities. The place is busy during the weekends and holidays. The only problem for us is there is no shower and good bathroom.

this is a nice place for family picnic and day out in the water. many shades available for picnic and food preparation. enough space for kids to play around and there are shades near water, which is handy. However, I am not happy to see the cleanliness. water is also not convincing. plastic bags are floating, so much plastic trash. I can say that its not properly looked after. I am not sure who manages this place but its not properly managed. lots of trees and green areas. a family day out will be wonderful if the water were clean. Regardless, I liked the place and would plan a picnic in anyway.

Park keepers are friends of mine. Friendly people always willing to help a park goer, stay out of the reserved area if you have not reserved it. Cops can and will get involved. The road entrance is kind of rough, but being a free day use park one cant complain much. Quiet, great area with a swimming bay, hardly any issues. Good boat ramp.

Its a nice park by the Lavon lake. You can spend a day with Family. There is boat ramp also if you take your boat. There is entry fee of $4. You can also swim there, but I saw a warning sign says no life guard available there.

3 is pushing it really. Im not sure if the park was technically open as the gates were locked prohibiting vehicular traffic but you could walk down to what qualified as the swim area. There were broken bottles and trash in the area...we took the dogs and made the most of it though.
