The best way to get started is just to walk in on a weekday. Phone and email didnt work, so we didnt get started soon enough. You can start at any time with no specific class dates. There are all ages classes and two classes going on simultaneously for younger and older kids. The classes are very safe. There is adequate observation from the instructors during the kids class with an emphasis on how to train safely. Gee will be supplied by facility, but if you have your own gee that is acceptable to. I know its not preferred but late arrival to class is okay. Sometimes its hard getting out of the office. I highly recommend this place. It is time and money very well spent. You will walk away with excellent instruction and training. In addition Professor Vannesa and Ben, the owners, are very personable. You will feel welcome. Other matial arts places I would describe the environment as weird, so I was hesitant to come here. This place is awesome, and I am really grateful to have the opportunity to experience it.

Red River BJJ has an amazing atmosphere whether you re interested in starting your jiu jitsu journey or experienced, I was greeted as soon as I walked in. They offer classes for everyone from different age groups of kids, adult fundamentals, advanced and pirates (40+). This gym creates the perfect training environment (especially for those wanting to start their journey) while being one of the few academies to still teach traditional martial arts values. I highly recommend RR BJJ!

Came here during ALS at Sheppard. Straight down missile road from the base Perfect-if your TDY airmen or AiT. Chill classes with good instructors. no gym bullies taking your shoulder off but they have the talent to put it on you if you want a good roll too. Shout out to professor Ben super cool dude

I am a visitor from Guam here on a TDY trip on Sheppard AFB, and right off the back when I drove up to Red River Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I was parked and really was not sure how to proceed to inquire, the Academy opened up at around 1645 and was in the middle of teaching the kid classes from the looking from the outside through the glass windows, and Professor Ben noticed I was In my car attempting to try and get down but saw the class was going on so I got back in my car because I didn t want to intrude, so he actually came to his door and called me to come in with a very welcoming gesture, I knew off the bat this is the place to be. After entering Professor Ben was a very nice guy, could already feel the good energy all around from the kids classes going on, Professor Ben brought me into his office and pretty much gave me the brake down, house rules, schedule you name it, and overall reminded me of home. The energy of welcoming anybody who enjoys this art to just come and train. Also the Other Professors were very welcoming and knowledgeable was able to get different details regarding the technique from different perspectives from each professor. And not only the professors but the fellow practitioners that are also there made me feel at home and part of the family, everyone was so nice, and the structure of the class lesson was very well put together. Super Grateful to be able to have found Red River BJJ and glad to be here, definitely HIGHLY RECOMMEND, if ever your in Wichita Falls. You will not regret it. When I moved here I did not really have friends here in the area. I can honestly say I was intimidated to walk into a jiu jitsu gym. All the staff and the people here at this gym treat you like family and introduce to you the best addiction ever. The first thing I did when I found out I was going to be TDY at Sheppard AFB was look for a gym because its such a huge part of my life and daily routine. Right when I walked in for my trial class I immediately knew this was the place for me. They treat everybody like family, regardless if youre a long-term member or there for a short stay. Professors Ben and Vanessa really went above and beyond with their hospitality, offering rides back to base as well as a loaner Gi. On top of that, they have team dinners on a regular basis after open mat on Fridays. There was always a large group of people who showed up for open mats too, it honestly felt like a big BJJ party every week! Every single professor was exceptional in the way they taught class and broke things down in a way we could understand it. I had so many aha moments there. They also shared such inspirational pieces of advice at the end of each class and it really sticks with you and encourages you to want to keep showing up and keep putting that work in. The members made drilling and rolling fun too and they each had their own pointers to add. The entire gym felt like one big team invested in each others progress and I think that was the best part. Being a part of this family, even for a short time, made such a huge impact on my experience here in Wichita Falls. I couldnt wait to come to the gym and see everyone every day. I was so excited to see what new techniques Id learn too. You can get training at any gym, sure, but what sets Red River apart from the rest is the bonds you build, the friends you make, and getting a community of people here who actually care about you and push you to do better. Thats true value and Im fortunate to be able to say that Red River contributed to my BJJ journey.

This is an excellent training facility for all ages. I was on TDY at Sheppard AFB for a couple months, and trained consistently at RRBJJ for the entirety of the time. I had a great time, learned and shared some tricks, and made some good friends. During my time here, they had even managed to bring a multi-division world champ in for a seminar. Kudos to the Lozanos for building such a strong community and team to represent BJJ in the area.

An amazing team and leaders. Professor Ben, Vanessa, Aaron and Justin allowed me to train while I was temporarily stationed at Sheppard AFB. The structure of the class is super beneficial for learning jiu jitsu. Not only will you learn a valuable self defense skill, but you are treated like family. My only regret is my time here was only a couple weeks. If you want to start training or get your kids in jiu jitsu this is a gem in a Wichita Falls. I was stationed in Wichita Falls for 4 months. I visited Red River BJJ and was welcomed with open arms by the staff. Everybody is very supportive and encouraging. Training here made my time in Wichita Falls enjoyable and I always looked forward to training. I met some amazing people in this gym. There are also wrestling and striking classes as well. Trying something new like martial arts can be intimidating and nerve wrecking. However, I highly recommend trying a free session. You won t be disappointed! My family and I were hoping to locate a martial arts gym that would provide encouragement with instilled discipline in their teachings. After COVID, my daughter & I made the jump to go and see Red River BJJ on May 10th. As soon as when we walked in, the staff was welcoming with open arms. We showed up to a time where the youth was in session and the parents were also welcoming to me. My daughter and I then decided to plan for a free session tryout. Both her and I loved it. We went home to talk to the rest of the family. My son and wife decided to join in as well. My wife loves that theres a Womens only session. Theres an hour for each age group that fits with our family. We have 3 more children that will plan in the future to try for martial arts when theyre more mature and babysitting can get costly. I can come here with my little ones while my wife, son and daughter roll on the mats. This place is a family centered. They have family plans that will fit your budget. Active Duty? Military? They have a plan for you too. Even if youre single (kids or no kids) no problem! If youre wanting to hone your skills of a past lost talent like Wrestling, Striking, Judo or Jujitsu, they have you covered. They can work with you for private sessions as well! For those who are skeptical or anxious, try out the free session. Come and see, you wont be disappointed.

Our family has been attending this amazing place for quite awhile now. Our children enjoy the learning experience and the challenges it has offered them to become better in the Art and within themselves. The Professors work with the children making them feel accepted, also encouraging them while they progress in their abilities. It s hard to find a place that is so encouraging, supportive and truly cares. Not just about their work but about each and every individual that is there! They put so much of their heart and soul in their work, and it shows in the feel of the environment they have created and the family they re growing each individual that joins. My husband and I both attend lessons, as well. There is not one negative thing I could think of. If you re looking for a place to: feel accepted, learn skill, gain strength, improve confidence, have a family vibe and more; then I couldn t recommend a better place! I enjoy the female only sessions, as it has really helped me build my confidence in what I am doing. The ladies there are so amazing and I can t rave enough about them! The adult sessions are just as amazing, and the second hour really allows you to put what you learned into action! They will take the time to answer your questions and show you how to properly accomplish each move. If your hesitant, then take the free session I assure you, you ll want to come back for more!

So as a brand new white belt who had only been training for just under three months at my home gym in Corpus Christi, Tx., I was pretty apprehensive about starting at a new gym out of town. I kind of drug my feet a bit just because I was so nervous about this decision but finally last week I got myself into Red River BJJ and I honestly regret not starting earlier. They have a very clean gym, nice mat, knowledgeable staff and good location. Red River BJJ is a family oriented gym. Period. And I love that because eventually my family will join me up here and I have my wife and five year old son who also train BJJ. I ll only be here in Wichita Falls, but while I m here I call Red River BJJ my gym.

This is an excellent place to train jiu jitsu for people of all ages and experience. My daughter and I train here, and it has improved our conditioning and self-defense capability. Ive watched my daughter moving past her shyness and becoming more assertive and sure of herself. The school takes great care to train children with good technique and an eye toward safety while fostering a positive, encouraging atmosphere. For adults, the same. The school encourages all participants. You want to casually approach the art for exercise? Can do. You want to become a more involved hobbyist? Check. You want to compete and become a beast on the mats? They got you covered. The goal is to train hard and improve. With no real wrestling, grappling, or fighting experience, I was nervous about joining, but the professor, coaches, and students were all welcoming and quick to make me feel like a part of the team. This Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym has become our second home in the time we have been at Sheppard AFB. I have been training with RRBJJ since May 29th 2017 and I absolutely love it. I grew curious about it when I saw pictures on Facebook from a friend, messaged him and he suggested I come check it out. I was given a 30 day trial and Ive been training ever since. The owners are great people and offer a family friendly environment. Training is intense and there is always someone there to push you. The training given can be very rewarding and we all always work up a sweat. I feel and look great. I was a military spouse on the fence about trying BJJ, but Im really glad that I did. I signed up for the trial and when that expired I signed up for regular classes. It was really convenient being so close to base and everyone there was very nice and helpful throughout my entire time training at Red River BJJ. Red River BJJ is the ONLY place in Wichita Falls I would ever think about training. The team atmosphere and family feel in the gym is the perfect training environment. The instruction is top notch. You will receive personal attention from the only black belt instructor in Wichita Falls.
