While the atmosphere is outstanding, the food was very disappointing. I had the rib eye. Lot of inedible portions. Despite ordering it medium rare, the steak was tough. I ve had really good rib eye steaks in the past but this would ram at the bottom of the list. Too bad they just serve such poor quality meat. And the service was extremely slow. The place was not at all crowded but the server very seldom came by.

One day I went out for a drink with my partner. I arrived at 10 p.m. sharp, the tapas had already been picked up, they gave us 4 broken tomatoes to put something on. We had ordered 2 bottles of cider and a beer. At 10:20 p.m. at night I went to order a portion and a waiter rudely commented yelling that the kitchen was closed. I will not come back.

We live in Pharr and havent patronized Arturos since they were in Nuevo Progreso. We ate there this afternoon after attending a Weslaco funeral service. The food and service were impressive. What surprised us the most were the prices: quite reasonable. I dont know where the negative reviewers are coming from. My wife and I agreed that its well worth the drive for us to go back.

Food was cold and not great tasting. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant. Cynthia, our waitress was very nice and tried her best to resolve the problem. The host, a gentleman, was very polite and offered a dessert as a courtesy to make up the cold food. We did not accept the dessert. Attention should be brought up to the kitchen staff.

We went to dinner there and we had a really rude waitress. She got mad when we asked for more napkins and silverware. (They only had one on the table when they sat us.) The food was disgusting. They dumped a bunch of salt in my mom s soup. The restaurant was dirty and had trash everywhere. The manager said that his workers don t like working at night so that s why the service was so bad. Do yourself a favor and go to Olive Garden or somewhere else instead!!

The quality seems to get lower and lower with each time that I go, which is only 1-3 times a year since it s usually for family gatherings. The food this past time was seriously lacking in flavor. The table salsa had absolutely zero spice and tasted like they used broth from a fish soup or something, which would be fine if there were jalapeños or serranos in it too but there was nothing. It seems like the meat for the tacos and chile rellenos has no seasoning either and each bite left me wanting more. I had to ask for a spicier table salsa and they brought out a jalapeño one that was decent. I m not sure if they re trying to get more of the winter Texans to eat there, but if you want more flavorful Mexican food I would go next door to tacos plebe or anywhere else. The prices for the portion size would be the only saving grace for me. The special Mexican plate was a great deal for the amount of food.

Arturo s in Progreso is my favorite place to eat! I had not been to the Weslaco location because I d heard it wasn t was good. That was really bad information because the food was every bit as good! The margaritas were delightful! The only complaint I had was the queso wasn t the best. I prefer white queso and should have asked before I ordered it. Otherwise I will definitely be back!

Arturos started in Mexico, but opened a restaurant across the border in Weslaco, Texas. The food and service are authentic and top-notch. Arturos was recommended to me and now I recommend it to others. Diegos Fajita Roll (pictured) is absolutely delicious. Its a rollup of fajita steak stuffed with melty Oaxaca cheese. Its complimented with Mexican rice and savory charro beans. If you go to Arturos, you cant go wrong with this meal.

The food is just not good to me. I have tried it like 3 different times, and the food just isnt worth it. I think you pay for the atmosphere and the type of people to be around. Only people willing to pay top dollar for beans and rice that have been sitting under the heat lamp all day will be here. You wont have to worry about being around rrrraza. The only thing that was good was the panchos, in my opinion. I dont recommend eating here if youre looking for good food.

Decided to eat at this place since the hotel Im staying at recommended it to me and it was walking distance. The place was not busy walking in and I knew that was a bad sign. Salsa that comes with the chips had no flavor and no type of heat. Chips were awesome since they are homemade and fresh. Ordered the botana plate and the winner of this plate was the plain quesadilla. The chicken in the flautas had no seasoning! The nachos had flavorless refried beans with yellow government cheese. Server asked me if I wanted dessert and I asked if they had sopapillas. He had no clue of what that was. That was the final straw and I just left after paying for this joke of a meal. Pretty disappointed that Im in the valley and the food was not all that at this location. Maybe I missed another place that I could have gone and ate.

First time eating here. I was very impressed with the big botana platter they were placing on all the tables. It had a lot of food. The rice, beans and avocado plates could be a larger plate. The tables sat 8 so I wasn t able to try those 3 platters. But other than that it was delicious. The botana had beef/chicken fajitas, flautas, quesadillas, tortas (lonches), onions, bell peppers. I will definitely return to try this platter with my family.

Went for Cabrito and chicken Mole. I was fairly impressed with the Cabrito, tender and juicy. It lacked a bit in seasoning but had nice crispy skin and the meat was falling off the bone. The chicken Mole looked like the chicken was flattened roadside. The chicken was dry and the mole tasted burned or just over cooked. I would go for a chicken truck and canned mole next time. All in all beautiful experience and great staff. I would recommend the Cabrito, just add a little salt :)

If theres a signature dish in the rgv, it would be the botana platter, with each place stamping its style. Arturos does it and very well! Soft chewy fajitas complement the chicken on top of crunchy tasteful tortilla chips doused on cheese and bean. On top of that meat mound, you get your quesadillas with flauta segments and mini lonches! And all enough to feed an army! Hmmm! All just fun! Enjoy! The atmosphere took a slight deduction due to its limited space for the guests. But it may have been due to the parties involved. It should be great for a couple or even a family dining.

Best fried frog legs i have eaten and I jave eaten many. I used to go to the one in Progresso back in the late 60 and 70s and over the years but the first time in the one in Weslaco today. I really had high hopes, restaurant was recommended. First I have to say it is a beautiful restaurant!. Upscale but comfortable. Second as nice a person as our server seemed the overall service was poorly lacking. Went in at about 2:30, only 2 other tables that we could see being served. Lady waitress said to have a seat, ok great. No menus, young man took beverage order, no menus, brought teas no menus. Asked for menus, waited and waited and still no menus. Went myself in search of menus. Complementary Salsa and chips served was like blended can tomatoes, no other flavor. Tacos had no seasoning either. Rice was decent as well as the sauce on the enchilada, but ade with American cheese? Guacamole came with sliced hamburger Pickle chips on top. Just strange. Next try to pay and leave, not so easy either. Waited a long time, then our nice server finally brought us someone elses paid! Receipt. Had to go again and find him to let him know wrong table. Finally after more waiting we were able to leave. I wish I could say something good but I have tried to be honest. Wont recommend and wont try again.

Food was great, not too busy. Very short wait for a table of 6. Asked to bring a cake to the table that we purchased at a different location and they gladly delivered it when requested, offered to light the candles and sang the Happy Birthday. Parking: plenty of parking Wheelchair accessibility: easily accessible with extra wide doors and very spacious

As a client I feel highly offended and discriminated against, I went to eat at lunchtime with my wife and we came in our work uniforms, immediately when we entered they sat us in the bar area where no one was there, instead the main dining room was already there some people and all the people who were arriving were seated in the main dining room, the food and the service is very good, but discrimination is not acceptable, in any way.
