The reviews were my experience as well. If you are a single, this maybe a good opportunity for you to get on your feet or maybe if you have a very simple case or already have a plan and needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks to a month but those who experienced abrupt change and those with children I wouldn t wish that experience on anyone. You and they will stay sick. It s a very tiring environment to live in. The rules are inconsistent. The goal post always moves. The process keeps you in survival, fight or flight mode. Before they resolve any of your problems, they will belittle you, your experience, & your intelligence. The good are always choosing between it s either you or my job Those who actually listen can do very little. It is overcrowded. I felt very unsafe and my belongings were stolen twice. If you lived a somewhat good life outside of the shelter, this is not the best place to be. If you re nice, please reconsider. It s a very similar experience to an abusive relationship in my opinion. To a logical person, nothing will make sense. I just wanted to be honest because most women don t know what they are getting into once they go. I think it helps you to make the best decision for you and your family. The area is very magical if you re into nature but the good is very well overshadowed by the bad. This is the very least I could say. Wish you and your family the best

Where do I begin. First, let me start by saying how hesitant they were to help from the start....You have advocates who think it is ok to lie on u. Not because someone is in need that gives u the right to lie on them. When your in need the last thing u want is someone twisting your words to fit their agenda.Being in need does not make them illiterate....Am much disappointed in the supervisor for not doing her due diligence. There is more than one side to a story. I was already advocating and doing the leg work before I was offered help. Stop making people who are in need feel inadequate. That is not ok. So much for empathy and compassion.....smh.

Turned away three times for help with restraining orders or shelter at one point after being assaulted and robbed. They took my assailants cousin in whom was also a participant.

Well I was scared at,first but these wonderful women are professional and extremely helpful. I recommend this womans shelter and the counseling is awesome. In Clear lake area. Off Nasa 1 & Walnut St. Google now and hopefully tomorrow will completely transform the way thinking about shelters. Good, pleasant, organized and knowledgeable to. A must. Never allow any person to violate, abuse, become violent and please remember that I was once afraid. Now Im empowered and my faith is strongerthan ever. I have been assulted, battered, threatened to be shot and killed & so much more. Find your courage and get the necessary help & leave the abuser and get some legal action against abuser & Im in the middle of the nightmare of the criminal court hearing in August and Im not afraid because I had the shelters amazing help & Im definitely not backing down but making a Victim Impact statement, and Im a honest women who will stand in front of my abuser and state exactly the blatant honest truth about his horrific and manipulative behavior and lies that seem never ending but Im strong enough to stand my ground in an open court & look dead into, the abusers eyes and state exactly what happened to me & how everything has affected my mental health issues and my physical health, PTSD is back in my head, and Im handling the stress through my God and faithful in Gods timing and God has a plan for me & my family to. Im blessed because God is a mainstay in mylife and forevermore. Please help yourself and please take careof you because you are special and beautiful just like you ate now. PS;; WE ARE ALL WORTHY OF THE BEST LIFE POSSIBLE THAT HAS ZERO VIOLENCE IN MY WORLD & YOURS TOO. BE SAFE AND MAKE A CALL TO GET THE HELP THAT YOU DESERVE NOW. I BELIEVE IN ALL WOMEN. BLESSEDTO HAVE GODS PROTECTION AND LOVE FOR ALL OF HIS CHILDREN,

The women who really try to get back on their feet ( especially with children ) are treated Unfairly. And they dont do anything about the ones who dont do anything . Some women get to come back even when brining in alcohol and drugs.. I got so close in saving my money from working and didnt care that I and my Daughter and I had no where to go. ( No Family) , The motel ate all my savings and about to loose my job because of this . They said I had to wait 90 days to come back. But , get this ... They let the ones that drink and do drugs back in with in days I think this is unorthadox. There was even a woman a while back whose son had a mental illness (autism) and exited her at 10 at night because her son was having issues being quiet in child care. She had no car, no phone, no where to go. They even gossip about your children, like they did about ny daughter and some other children. Very unprofessional on the staffs part.

I love this place, what it stands for and what they do. The people who work here are very sweet when I was there the few times I needed them. They help with legal aid, battered women, homeless, domestic and sexual violence victims, etc. They assist with helping a wide variety of victims. They help filing paperwork, finding other resources for you if they cant provide them themselves, they have little events sometimes to seek help like legal aid seminars or whatever you want to call it. The building is very safe and they seem to take privacy and safety very seriously. This organization is well known to locals, its been around a long time and done a world of good for this community. Seriously god bless the people who founded, run and contribute to this place.
