We had lunch yesterday and according to our Receipt, we ordered at 1:11 PM, table 5 check number 36. The servers were not very attentive as they usually are. Perhaps the owners were absent. We also ordered a lunch to go and they left out my grandson s egg roll. We drove a long way for this food but should have checked to see if our order was correct. It was a slow period as it was after lunch. Too much talking with each other instead of concentrating on our go order. U owe us an egg roll!! if we weren t an hour and a half away, we would come and get it but next time we want you to give us what we paid for! We ve been there many times, and it s always been great but the service yesterday was lackadaisical at best. One in particular, the waitress with the lighter colored hair, didn t seem to care at all. She was slow, moving and no personality. Had to flag her down 3 times. The other waitress with the dark hair was much nicer but she is the one who brought out our go order with our missing egg roll. Not sure if it was her mistake or someone in the back. Either way she received a $9.77 cash tip and should ve make sure it was right!

My experience at Happy Wok was anything but happy. Despite the sign in the window saying Dine-In, there are no tables, and you cant even place an order inside. Youre required to order by phone before coming in, but this isn t made clear at all. To make matters worse, the staff behind the counter just stared at me like I was dumb instead of offering any assistance. Very disappointing

Quick and easy to order! To-Go only. The dining room is not set for in house eating, so we got our take out and headed over to Cameron Park for dinner. The weather was great and the food was delicious!!! I definitely suggest trying this place out. A local said the sweet tea is perfect, but we forgot to order it. Maybe next time!

By far the best Chinese food in or around Waco!! I genuinely get excited throughout the day when I know Im getting Happy Wok after work. Every dish is made with care like a homemade meal. Portions are great for the price, and the meat is fresh, high quality, and delicious. Their menu is extensive, has lots of different meals and sides to choose from. Every time I go in, the owners and staff are friendly and working hard. I am from NY and grew up eating chicken and broccoli almost every weekend with my family. For over a decade I have been trying to find a Chinese restaurant of the same style and quality. After living in NY, CA, FL, and CO, Happy Wok is in my top 3 ever! This location is styled exactly like those in NY, optimized for takeout as opposed to dine-in. This may seem odd to some, but these meals are best ordered for takeout so they can be enjoyed with family and friends in the comfort of home. <3 Think Big Bang Theory.

This was our first time trying out Happy Woks food. We ordered 2 combos of pepper steak, which came with rice and an egg roll. Like most similar Asian food places, they give very little meat, but there are lots of bell peppers and onions. The flavor profile of the pepper steak sauce was a little too garlicky for me. The rice had an odd consistency to it. The egg roll was a little limp & greasy. I know its take out only, but come on. Tidy the place up. Cardboard boxes of products (I assume) are everywhere. At least have someone neatly stack them in an organized manner. What a terrible eyesore. Probably will not return. The number one reason is that I was just not that impressed with the food.

I wont be going anywhere else for Chinese in Waco. Five stars. Great value. I got Kung Pao Chicken and sesame chicken for my son but we could have easily split one combo plate. The Kung Pao Chicken featured tender chicken breast, carrots, celery, baby corn, mushrooms, bean sprouts green bell pepper and plenty of peanuts, great flavor and was actually spicy. My kiddo gave his sesame chicken a thousand thumbs up. Good classic egg rolls, just wish Id asked for sweet and sour sauce for them. Love the fried rice with red pork too.

Just moved to texas few weeks back and I was at the hospital nearby and craved chinese food. Well, originally born and raidsed near China town in NYC and they have authentic great tasting food comparison to NYC chinese. They are equivalent. When I travel to Waco, this will be my go to. We ordered general tso chicken and pork fried rice, beef and broccoli, cheese wonton, egg roll, wonton soup dumplings fried and tea to go that was tasted with a lemon twist. I love lemon so it wasnt an issue. We drove an hour and fifteen min back east and the food was still warm . Two thumbs up for Happy rest and happy customer. The only thing is they forgot my sauce for dumplings.

I have been coming here for years. This is the 1st i have been unhappy with the portions.They have always been a bit pricy but worth it for prices, Not for the lack of flavor.The food is always great . I am amazed at how much the prices have raised and how small the portions have gotten. I got a large chicken/broccoli and portion were less then half what we would have normally recieved for 2 dollars more. Lomain plain for almost 8 dollars and very small portion. Dumplings for almost 8 dollars and a tea. Total little over 34 dollars. Maybe Im just in shock of how much things have gone up. Not sure if they are raising prices and are making up for being closed or changing everything while the normal workers are off. Granted all places have gone up but the portions dont change so drastically. it would be different if we were sitting in to eat but it is what it is.

They have discontinued seating in restaurant still, since pandemic even tho most restaurants have. Very disappointing. I wanted to sit down and enjoy my meal. Another customer convinced me their food was so much better than surrounding Chinese restaurants, it was worth it. Eggroll would have really been good with a little more seasoning. I have been a happy Happy Wok customer for as long as I can remember. The food is outstanding. The family that owns and operates this wonderful restaurant in my neighborhood does a service to our community by providing such fresh and flavorful food while at the same time demonstrating the value of family, hard work and what can be accomplished when working together. Prices are reasonable and in all the years of takeout from them, not once have I had a negative experience. Neither has anyone I know who does business with them. That really says a lot in itself. Parking: There is plenty of parking. FYI their tea is great! Wheelchair accessibility: There is a handicap parking space in front.

The best authentic Chinese food in Waco! Even my husband who is Chinese agrees. We live in Houston now, but every time we come back to Waco we make sure to grab some food to go. If you like tofu I highly recommend the general tso tofu and their sweet tea! The owners/ employees are always nice. Was the Best Chinese take out in Waco.. Edit; April 2022 ordered again. Different ownership. The receipt says New Happy Wok. Not the same food either. No more lunch specials. The combination platters hardly had any meat. The lo mein noodles were soggy and old. The fried rice did not even resemble what they used to make. The Wonton soup was a bright yellow and all the wontons were dissolved. The Chinese noodles for the soup were in tiny bags and were also stale. The Eggroll was the only thing that was good. Almost $50 for three people was not worth it. What a shame, this place used to have the best Chinese food in Waco. Highly disappointed!

Ive been going here for years. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Waco. From the fried cheese won ton, to the egg foo Yung, the lo mein. Literally everything Ive eaten there has been great. Worth the wait. Call it in because all they take are call ins. Take it to the park have a picnic, go home and veg out. The staff and service is so incredibly great! My family had a last minute gathering and we decided, on the spot, to order Happy Wok. There were no complaints about a last minute and huge order. They were also very patient and made certain to repeat the entire order very slowly to make sure everything was correct. We were told an order that big would take approximately an hour or so, which is completely understandable, yet it was ready in 45 minutes and was exactly what we had ordered! To top it all off the food was extremely delicious and more than fair on the pricing! Definitely a 10 in our book!

Food was good, but the pickup experience was not that great. Our food was bagged and visible through the window, but it was a good 15 minutes before anyone opened the door to allow us to pay and pickup. The ordering process was also a bit strange they would not let us purchase an appetizer portion of spare ribs (we were made to buy it as a full entree), nor would they sell us a two-entree combo plate. Both of those things are posted on their newest menu, and they were not out of ribs - so why not allow us to purchase the listed options?

These folks make some awesome Chinese food, and they have vegan and vegetarian options! We always get the General Tsos tofu and its excellent every time. Theyre reasonably priced and pretty quick. Great place all around.

Everyone in this establishment is completely rude after i paid for my food i looked in my bag i wanted sweet and sour sauce i was charged $1.08 for when i asked for it with the meal i returned to ask for it and was told to walk around the back and i would get will not be here ever again.

Loved the food! I got the orange chicken and the cheese wantons. Theyre closed for dining right now so you have to call in your order and they bring it out for you. Usually only about a 20 min wait.

I called order in. Was rushed placing the order. The woman on the phone was short and rude. Told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I was there in 20 minutes. I had to wait an extra 25 minutes. I thought the food would be worth the wait. Nope. Maybe I caught them on a flavorless day. Food was mediocre at best. Whoever thinks this is the best in Waco, has never been outside of Waco. /s
