7/6 very disappointed today. Arrived at 2 in order to see the exhibits. Was told that close at 3 and was $15 to get in. Website says 4 and $8 for seniors. The people were not friendly and somewhat condescending. Found out some kind of warbird gathering. May want to update signs. Had 2023 dates. Pilot 52 yrs LtC ret.

Flew in here on a cross-country training flight. After eating at the dinner, I decided to check out the museum. When I walked in, an older lady asked, Can I help you?. I said I wanted to look around. She said, Well, the only place you can look around is the gift shop. Its $9 to come in here. I had a $10 already in hand, but after that rude encounter, I just turned around and walked out.

This morning we visited the Tyler Historic Aviation Memorial Museum. The museum was most excellent. The indoor exhibits were wonderful but the the collection of aircraft outdoors was outstanding. We had a personal tour by one of the volunteers, Rick, a former F-4 fighter pilot who served multiple tours in Vietnam. One fun fact: the exact F-4 Phantom that he flew was one of the aircraft on display. If you are Tyler, dont miss this gem!

There were a bunch of planes outside on the runway that we were able to see up close. Mike was very knowledgeable and taught us so many new things we didn t know. Highly recommend!

What an amazing experience, HIGHLY recommend! I took a group of middle school students on a field trip to HAMM in Tyler, TX and they absolutely loved it! We saw planes take off and land in real time. We learned so much history and culture in a short amount of time. Bonus, our amazing guides were engaging and Spanish-speaking. Aviation offers so many careers and different opportunities for our upcoming youth! Thank you HAMM for the new knowledge and exposure! We WILL be back!

Whether youre an aviation expert or just someone that enjoys history, the HAMM is a great place to check out. Mr. Mike guided us on a +/- 1 hour tour where he thoroughly explained the evolution of the engines as well as the history of each aircraft that was on display. Will definitely be returning!

My wife and I attended the Rose City Air Show on July 1, 2022 and we have visited the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum. All I can say is WOW!!! The museum is awesome and to see and read everything in there one needs two days. It is full of history and to me, a must see. Never mind the aircraft on the tarmac to be explored. The air show was magnificent, and I am hooked on air shows. Included are the B-29, which is THE aircraft that got me to the show, an A-10 and P-51 flying in formation (incredible!), and a T-33 Shooting Star (an aircraft I have seen up close and personal in Breckinridge, TX newly restored). This was a memorable afternoon and evening that I hope to repeat in 2023. Highly recommend a visit to this museum.

We looked up their hours online, and it showed an 8:00am opening time. We got there at 9:00am to find it was not open. The sign on the door said open at 10:00am, so we turned to leave. As we were leaving, a man wearing a shirt with their emblem arrived. We found him to be rude and pushy when questioned about what time they open, so we left and wont be back!

What a nifty array of aviation history right here in my own backyard! I took my grandsons as a part of a homeschool outing and it was well worth our time. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and paid a very small admission fee. Theres a little gift shop near the entrance with a good selection of aviation related things to help you remember your visit. Our little group of 8 was immediately escorted onto a secure area of the tarmac and walked through a great selection of planes and a helicopter . There were engines, decommissioned guns, and a small cabin that the kids could actually sit inside. Our guide was quick with information about the planes and great at answering the kids questions. There is not an actual tour of the museum exhibits, however there are placards with good information. In several places, CDs are available to play that explain the display. During our visit there were several cordial and well informed docents throughout the museum ready to answer questions and explain things to us. Is obvious that this museum is the passion of those who work there, so go and soak in some of their love of all things aviation. After your visit dont forget to stop at the Cafe in the lobby for lunch and check out the radio controlled small scale planes hanging from the ceiling while you wait. Great way to spend a day and learn a few things in the process - thank you for having us!

Loads of old military planes and helicopter s, complete with a tour guide on the tarmack. Plan on several hours if youre really into history. And for the best tour, ask for Ken. Always enjoy going there to see new artifacts, models, videos, books and to shop the gift shop. The newly displayed Navy Cougar jet is really a work of art, a beauty! Looking forward to seeing the new Mug 17 coming out of restoration week of July 25. And then theres Skyline Cafe next door for a great breakfast or lunch. Wyley.

One of the truly MUST SEE museums in the State of Texas... Operated by veterans who flew the planes in various wars. Anyone inspired by the history of flight wont be disappointed. Hundreds of displays including real military aircraft...
