I absolutely love this hidden gem. I normally despise Tex-Mex, I only love authentic Mexican. However their fried taco are delicious, their salads are pretty good but the processed lettuce has an after taste. The waiters and take out waitress are always nice, they act super busy but still so very nice. I would recommend

Been dining in and taking out for 27 years here. Prices have understandably gone up quite a bit with inflation. For the first time, we were denied tortillas with our large takeout order. I asked if they were in the order and told yes. Got home and no tortillas. Went back to be told they have to be purchased separately now for takeout. Unfortunately, there is no way to order them online. It is not even an option. Poor customer service by employee on pick up and upon return. Sadness.

UPDATE 7/2/2024 Still the same great food. Raven is gone now, but Jonathan S. is a GREAT server. I had the Pechuga De Pollo (with fajita steak instead of chicken) and my wife had the Street Tacos (with chicken). I had the sauteed veggies with my steak. Everything was excellent! As a reminder, I got the Authentic Red Sauce salsa (which is actually green...but it is HOT...and delicious). Thank you Jonathan S. for a great evening! UPDATE 2/6/2023 You cannot eat here unless you ask for Raven as your server. She made the night! Best server Ive ever had. The food was excellent as always, but Raven made it better by listening to what I wanted, and knew the off menu selections that made this the best Mexican food Ive had in a while! Great food, and GREAT service. Thank you Raven! Love the food. Overall great evening with my wife!

Fajita trio plate is good. Steak pieces were a little thick and chewy, chicken was nice and tender, and shrimp was perfect. Rice and beans were delicious. The salsa is a bit more tomato based than I care for, but the flavor is there. The only bad thing was that the tostada chips for the salsa were horrible, definitely fried in used, rancid oil. The smell from the bag was no Bueno. Then I opened the bag and it was worse. Overall food is good. The atmosphere is nice. Staff is very friendly. Recommend this restaurant.

I ordered nachos and by the picture on menu it looked like i was in for a feast and fyi i always judge a Mexican restaurant by their nachos. Fast forward and when i got my order it looked like tortilla soup. It looked nothing like what nachos look like. I make better nachos at home. Cheese looked like it was melted in a microwave and all chips were soggy and then it wasnt even a full order a chips. They literally put a handful of chips and poured toppings on it and melted the cheese. I am sorry but if you mess up nachos dont call yourself a Mexican restaurant because thats one of the easiest items on a menu to make. You charged me 16.99 for a plate worth less than a fraction. And the salsa as bland and tasted like it came out of a can. Notbing authentic about that ..you all need to find another business. You guys are fired! Our server was cool though so this is not on him at all. And one last note there is nothing absolutely nothing authentic about Posados cafe. Nothing. Im appalled that you guys are still in business. It should be illegal to serve the nachos I was served today. So disappointing. Again nothing against the server. He earned his tip.

Im sorry to tell you this but Im never going back there ever again. Ordered green chili over 3 enchiladas and beans and a margarita on the rocks. With very little ice. Well it was o er half full of ice and I dont think they know what green chili is. We chose to go out and eat there because my grandson had purchase a card thru the school. On the ticket they had me down with 2 enchiladas not 3. It was the manager that we spoke to on the drink. I was informed that the drinks dont count on the total bill bc we had to spend 25.00 to get the 5.00 coupon off Well I could have handled that but his attitude over the whole thing told me I SHOULD NEVER GO BACK. My son and I went there this evening for dinner, it is my favorite place, they have THE best chicken tortilla soup around! Our host took us to a table for seating but it was dirty so we asked to be sat at a different table. He took us to a different table which had dirty plates and food on it. He took the plates off the table and sat our menus on the food on the table. The busser was very kind and wiped the table off for us. Our server was incredibly rude. He brought us the wrong food and did not separate our bills even though we asked. I was so discouraged and sad about the treatment there, I didnt even bother asking for the right food. We have been there so many times and have never had service like that. I hope it was just a one off kind of day, but we wont be back for awhile. The food was delicious as usual, and the busser kid should get a raise.

Ive been here a few times now and like everything Ive tried. Not many vegetarian options is the only reason I dont give 5 stars. Im pretty sure the refried beans are not vegetarian friendly. Service is always good, quick, and friendly. And they have my favorite beer which made me happy. Vegetarian options: Unless you do something that is strictly vegetables (like veggie fajitas or enchiladas, etc. I would not count on the food being vegetarian. And avoid the beans if youre strictly veg- they taste like traditional beans with lard in them. Parking: When its busy parking is difficult to find and some spots are narrow

My wife and I have been eating here for years several times a month. In the past Month, the flavor of the food has gone downhill because of someone on here Complaining about The food was too spicy for them. The food was never that spicy. It had a great flavor and was very enjoyable. If you dont like flavorful, mexican food go to taco bell, but please dont ruin the experience of great mexican food for everyone else. It should not be $26 for nachos and a side of queso. We ordered it to go and they also refused to give us chips for both the salsa and queso. The nachos were soggy when we got them and they had almost no cheese. Terrible customer service as well. Update- I decided to give them another chance and get a burrito bowl. I was in town Friday 3/22/24 to visit my Aunt in the hospital as we were told she wouldn t make it much longer. The 9 of us decided to go out for dinner as a family and I chose Posado s based on reviews and pics. I cannot state how great our experience was! Our server Kate took EXCEPTIONAL care of us. Having been in the service industry for 25yrs (including fine dining) I m not easily impressed, but she did a bang-up job! She was incredibly attentive but not overbearing, very friendly, and professional. We never lacked for anything from napkins to refills to salsa, and everyone s food came out perfect and as ordered. 10/10 I recommend Kate and Posado s!

Fair warning. Mediocre or outright bad management is unfortunately the norm too often in Tyler but this was a new one : we buy those coupon books for restaurants and entertainment and used one at posados last saturday. The coupon said buy an entree and get a free appetizer. My wife got the queso flameado and I got a combination plate. My entree was $17, her appetizer was $14 but thats a separate discussion. Our waitress returned with news the mgr says that coupon is only good on appetizers $10 and under so they wouldnt honor it. I responded with it doesnt say that on the coupon and if wed been told that before ordering it would have changed what we ordered. So in the end, the manager I guess decided to honor it, we paid and tipped her for what the bill wouldve been without the coupon as is our usual practice. So be aware of this when ordering in restaurants because this isnt the first time we had a employee refuse to honor a coupon as it is written.

I have been longing to see your face and embrace you in my arms, but the war is not yet over and I must do my duty for our country. I pray that God will protect you and our children from all harm and danger. I have some good news to share with you, my love. Yesterday, after a hard-fought battle with the British, we managed to capture a strategic position near Tyler, a town in Texas. We were exhausted and hungry, but our spirits were high. We decided to celebrate our victory by dining at a nearby establishment called Posados Cafe, which we heard was famous for its authentic Mexican cuisine. You would have loved it, my darling. The place was cozy and inviting, with colorful decorations and a friendly staff. They welcomed us warmly and served us generous portions of delicious food. I had a dish called enchiladas, which were tortillas filled with cheese and meat, covered with a spicy sauce. They were so good, I almost forgot about the hardships of war. I also tried some of their homemade salsa, which was fresh and flavorful. They even gave us free ice cream for dessert, which was a rare treat. I wish you could have been there with me, my sweet. I missed you so much, especially when I saw other couples enjoying their meals together. I imagined how it would be to take you there someday, when this war is over and we are reunited. I hope that day will come soon, my love. I must end this letter now, for we are preparing to march again. It was okay, chain food. Nothing outstanding. My husband had the chicken fajitas and there was no sizzle when it was brought to the table. The chicken resembled more of a turkey breast consistency. Wow!! I am so picky about enchiladas and these were so ggooodd i had the cheese and a beef with the chili gravy wow!! My second time around I had the barrito bowl wowsers So good and there cilantro lime rice so full of flavor and there salsa perfect Got to try it, so good Ill definitely keep this one in the rotation

Food was good with regards to simple fare, such as enchiladas, rice, and beans. Fajita meats were not great, dry (chicken) and gristly (steak). Not bad I guess, I like the other locations in Texas.

Brought the kids to eat after trick or treating tonight. We are regular customers. Not sure of the dude s name that was our server was but OMG hands down the WORST SERVICE WE HAVE EVER RECEIVED IN ANY RESTAURANT IN TYLER. We never ask for a manager. Never complain. But this dude (in a Voorhees jersey) absolutely ignored us. THE ENTIRE TIME. Never apologized for our tortillas and queso not coming out. We watched him walk to tables all around us while he BLATANTLY skipped our table after we pointed out that our appetizer hadn t came yet. Horrible attitude. Food came out late and had obviously been sitting in the window. Brown guac. Soggy burritos. Absolutely awful. AND DESPITE ALL THAT we still tipped him 20%. Just know this.. he didn t deserve one penny of that money and we will go to manny s from now on.

One reason we dont go to Posadas after dark is their parking lot lights are never on! Either their too cheap to fix them or they dont bother to turn them on.

This is a place where my wife and I met and ate at 30 years ago when we first met. It s has sentimental value to us. Food is good. Decent prices. My favorite items are the spicy chips. The Fiesta Sampler is great.

The management here is horrible. They WILL NOT cater to people who have special needs such as 20% of their stomach. They will let you order a kids meal but not at the kids price.which is stupid. The price will be the adult price even with it being a smaller portion. RIDICULOUS! Dietary restrictions: They have NONE!

Not happy with my services today. Me, my son ,my friend and her son went for lunch today. Everything was good until it was time to pay. My friend and I split the check evenly. She had cash and I had a card. Total was about 81 and change. Gave the server 40 in cash the remaining on my card of 41 and change, right well the server tried to charge my card the full amount and then tried to pocket the 40 cash as a tip. Instead my card was only ableto charge 60. Asked her why she idid it that way and not take the 40 cash off on the bill and charge me the remaining 41 and change. She was unable to and then went off as I was talking. She received no tip for trying to be a thief. Ive worked in food industry before for over 10 years. That was the worst thing a server could ever do. Very disappointed.
