Authentic Mexican food! Delicious, great prices and great service! I highly recommend if you are craving authentic Mexican food and not TexMex. I m surprised that this restaurant has good reviews for the food but really what I ordered the meat is like if they boiled it cause it was breaking apart the beans had a weird taste and everything was lacking flavor!!!! I paid the plates cause I didn t feel good not paying them. I didn t take a picture of the plates but I have the receipt of what I ordered.

Bad service, the waitresses only talk about how you have to stop and order what you need, fart pozole, if they serve it in a molcajete but it is pure meat, unravel my corn or very dry xaldo, I asked if they would sell me a little bit of pozole broth to put it in in the child and they said that they prepared it at the moment and they only had what they make, they serve in the end debut and farewell, they should have better service because they dont give away what they consume

I spent a few days close by while I was traveling through the area and ate here twice. I had the mixed fajitas for dinner and would consider them above average, for sure. Great margaritas. I had the omelet for breakfast, and it was amazing. Seriously, its as good as it gets. On both occasions, a man who I assume was the owner shook my hand and welcomed me in.

The review written by Daren Sanchez is a lie, I was sitting at the table next to them and heard them berat and humiliate the waitress and owner, sounded like they wanted to cause drama just to get something for free, if you can t read ask before ordering.

If you are looking for a place to enjoy delicious, quality food, El Norteño is your perfect destination! I went to the restaurant recently and I must say I was very impressed. The food is simply delicious and exceptional in taste. In particular, the seafood takes all the cake, its fantastic! In addition to the food, the place is extremely clean, which shows that they place a lot of importance on hygiene and the quality of their products. And not only that, the service is also top-notch. First time at this restaurant and right off walking in was a great atmosphere. Family oriented restaurant. Does serve alcohol which is a plus for us. Employees were nice and the owner was very nice and came over to introduce himself and checked to see if everything was great. Then the dishes came out which were beautifully plated and big. The food was delicious. The michelada was really good also. It honestly shows that the owner and the employees take pride in there food they make and their restaurant. This place was excellent! Huge menu for a smaller size restaurant! Everything looked soo good! The chimichanga was HUGE and the beef wasn t just run of the mill ground beef or taco meat, it was chopped up steak that was marinated in a delicious marinade! The chips and salsa was great and we also ordered a bowl of queso and it was excellent as well! The chips tasted house made, so crispy and corny! The owner was here on a Saturday afternoon at 4pm which seems unusual.. dedicated to this place! Today, Saturday 10/2/2021 was the first and last time we will ever go to El Norteño located on Gentry! We placed our order, then my husband realized his didnt tell the waitress he wanted chicken in his quesadillas. So, we called her back. These quesadillas were on the appetizers menu. They brought him a complete dinner plate. They put onions, bell peppers mixed with the chicken in the quesadillas Not good.. I asked for menudo with posol in it... Dont ever request it unless you ask for a sample first!!! When they brought it out there was no posol in it, first taste was GROSS! Tasted like Caldo de Pescado with pieces of menudo... We got up paid & asked to speak to manager, when he came in we explained that the menudo tasted like Caldo de pescado, he never denied what we said, but he was mocking my disabled husband. (the way he expressed himself) He said that the situation would be fixed he refunded our money. And never again will we return!!

We really enjoyed our visit here! Were not from this area and enjoy authentic Mexican food. We LOVED the food here, from the salsa to the rice and beans. We ordered several dishes for my husband and small kids to all share--enchiladas, beef fajita quesadilla, garlic shrimp, and a chalupa. We were very pleased when we got the bill, the prices are reasonable and everything tasted so good. Nothing was bland or half done. The beans were delicious and creamy, the owner told us theyre made with a recipe from Mexico City, where he is from. The atmosphere was friendly, warm, and festive. I really had a nice time. I look forward to actually eating at the restaurant and singing on the karaoke. I had the enchiladas de mole and the Mrs. had chicken enchiladas with sour cream. Both plates were amazing! I was really impressed with the taste of the mole sauce. Not everyone gets it right, but El Norteño has it spot on. We just moved up here from Houston last year and have been looking for a Mexican restaurant like this and had already failed with the Jalapeno Tree and Posados. Theyre good, but dont really taste like authentic Mexican food. El Norteño is the one. We have finally found our place in Tyler for real good Mexican food! Thank you so much, we really enjoyed it!
