Our family loved this place. We used to go on S Congress until it closed. We recently started going to the Brodie location, but will not be returning. They accidentally messed up one of my kid s burger orders. I asked if we could just give it to my dog, but the manager threw it in the trash and said we would have to buy a burger for the dog. This was his response after the waitress showed him the ticket confirming it was the kitchen s mistake. Just felt gross being there after that.

My new phone is apparently posting reviews ALL BY ITSELF, not to my liking at all! DOCS is one of my Austin FAVORITES, very regularly visited by me, with grandchildren in tow for playground time. The fish n chips is always part of our order, and the servers couldnt be more accommodating -- love it!!

Enjoyed their frozen margarita and pulled pork nachos at a good price even out of happy hour. They have an extensive draft beer menu and several frozen drinks. The seating is about equally divided between indoor, covered patio, and open patio. Their staff were very hospitable, even near closing time. They share a big parking lot with a big strip mall of businesses. If its open, next door is a great place for cookies after your meal.

We came here on the weekend and sat outside. Loved that the place is kid friendly, while also being able to watch games. The service was not so good. When i asked about drink specials, he did not know and had to pull something out to read them off. When i asked what a Flying Longhorn is, he replied that its an IPA. i asked for drink menu and read that it is actually NOT an IPA but a drink made with vodka and redbull, among other ingredients. We order the loaded tots, which were great. These came out before my drink did. And i had to remind him about my drink. When he brought it back, the ice was all melted and the red bull can was turned upside down in the glass, submerged. This is not sanitary, as im sure these cans do not get cleaned prior to this. So i was already put off. Not to mention the whole red bull was able to fit into the glass which tells me that there was not much else of anything other than redbull. We asked for extra sour cream for the tots, since we were sharing this. had to remind him twice, and by time he brought it, it was with the main entrees and the tots were done. I ordered pulled pork nachos. The pork was dry and tasteless, and beans even looked dried out, like it has been sitting for awhile. Not a good first experience here.

My family and I had dinner at Docs the other night. The food was amazing, the service was great as well. However, a manager (Joe I believe) came by and he was extremely rude and dismissive to my wife and I. We will not be coming back strictly due to this manager. Very unfortunate as we enjoyed our time otherwise. I hope upper management can figure this out.

Food was good . But the experience of being first time customers was HORRIBLE.. we were overlooked and not waited on or attended to, my daughter even went inside to get someone to come help us . We stopped in for dinner on our way to Austin. The location is a little hard to find on GPS maps as it takes you to the wedding venue across the street. The service was fast and friendly. Dog AND kid friendly! EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! Had dog bowls and cold water, which my puppy really appreciated! Had an awesome playground, which the kiddo really enjoyed! Used to love this place, have lived nearby for 10+ years. Now theyve gone to nickel/diming you on everything. Want lettuce on kids slider burger?? Add $0.25. (see photo.. a whole head of lettuce is $1 at HEB) Tomatoes? Add $0.25. A michelada setup on your beer? Add $0.50. That would be fine if the food was low price, but $7.99 for 2 kids sliders and like 12 french fries is already more than fair. $19 for 10 wings... Further, food quality has suffered over the years and its now just average. Servers expect even more tip for doing less work, considering you use the QR to order food, pay, etc. Server is now just a food runner, with the default tip set to 25% (if I recall?). It is great for young kids with a nice play scape area outside and huge trees, too bad the rest doesnt quite meet expectations.

My wife, our dog and I really enjoyed Doc s backyard. We randomly stumbled upon while running errands in the nearby area and were pleasantly surprised to find a dog-friendly patio. The place had a good amount of TV s and it was a Sunday so we got to catch the Ravens game. We got wings, fries and beers and they were pretty good. The wings were a bit small but tasty. Our server was nice and they have the automated checkout QR codes that make it easy to close out and leave. Overall good place for it to be in a random shopping center.

Tonight we went with family who came from out of town to visit and we wanted to show them a great place since i been here a few occasions.. Tonight food was excellent but my waiter sucked we felt rushed to decide what we wanted then we had to flag him down for refills on our drinks (soda) we ask for a to go box he took forever to bring me a box had to.remind him 2 times finally i got up went to ask for boxes myself..i went back to our table he passed by and just threw a box on.our table didnt say thank you or nothing. I can see if he was busy i could understand but the place was not packed when all.said.done.i.payrd 75 dollars for.bad service the waiter was very bias and i felt embarrassed that my out of towners experienced this too

We took our kiddos here for supper, and I will say they, have a great atmosphere with an excellent playground. With lots to do outside for the kids so theyre not bored while waiting for food and such! The food was normal fair for a somewhat of a burger joint. But it was tasty Ill be at a little bit expensive. The kids did have a great time outside playing on the playground and chasing each other around all I definitely recommend this place if you have kids. Great place, has a play area for the kids. Dont let the cold weather stop you, The covered part of the patio has some really good overhead heating. It was in the low 50s °F yesterday, everyone sitting outside had their jackets off out of necessity. I think the food was good haha was distracted by good conversation So wasnt really paying attention. No one had any complaints so take that for what it is. Parking: It was pretty slow when we went so parking wasnt an issue, But I can see it getting full if it was busy. Plenty of parking at adjacent parking lot but would require crossing a thoroughfare. Kid-friendliness: Outdoor play area for the kids, Not the most elaborate but will at least get their energy out and let them socialize. Wheelchair accessibility: It appeared to be in compliance. Single oversized stall in mens restroom, level ground at entrance and doorway to patio. Patio is split level but I believe there is a ramp if you look to your right when exiting to the patio, On the other side of a door. (Which I think was standard size unfortunately)

The weekday happy hour is such a good deal! I really like the Buffalo chicken sliders. *Edit - I visited again recently with a friend during happy hour, and it was another great experience. I had a rum and Coke to drink, which had a nice amount of rum in it. My friend has a beer, which she thoroughly enjoyed. We also shared several appetizers for our dinner. We had the boneless Buffalo wings and boneless garlic parmesan wings. The garlic parmesan wings were my favorite! Delicious! We also had the fried mushrooms and the cheeseburger sliders. The food was fantastic and our waiter, Anthony, was great.

My first visit was about five years ago. The food wasn t very good and the service was bad. The same again today. I ordered the jalapeño and cheese hamburger with french fries. You would think that is an order that would be hard to mess up but the hamburger was extremely dry and crumbly. The bottom bun was soaked from something to the point where I could not pick up the sandwich for it falling a part. The fries were tasteless and barely warm. I ordered the draft beer specifically with no fruit on it and when it showed up with a piece of lime it was no surprise as it happens all the time. The biggest problem was that the beer was warmer than the fries. With the tip I paid $27. I feel like the owner owes me $27 for this lousey overpriced meal. Will never go back.

We visited on a weekday, during happy hour to specifically explore the appetizers. We did the fried pickles, fried mushrooms, cheese tots and quesadillas. Pickles and quesadillas were good, cheese tots were decent, however the fried mushrooms lacked flavor. Dip that came with the appetizers was a nice touch, bringing everything up a notch. Our service was good, however the QR code/ordering system needs some refinement. Decent place for appetizers especially with happy hour prices. Will visit again!

We went to Docs on 8/22, late at night when most other places were closed. We had a great server, and the food was on POINT! Try the Fish & chips - full basket if youre hungry, or want to split it with a friend. I didnt even want fried food, but it was recommended, and Im glad we gave in. Side salad was clean and crisp, and the boneless chicken wings were a perfect companion. My date ordered a nice dry Rose - I didnt know you could get wine in a beer pub! We learn new things... Anyway, we went into this with uncertainty: We never want to be the last table sat at the end of a shift for the kitchen crew. Still, the staff never made us feel unwelcome or an inconvenience (lots of places today just dont care about customer service). Taylor, our server, was very attentive and helpful start to finish. Restrooms were clean. That covers everything. I truly have nothing bad to say about Docs the night we went.

I really do like this place but just a few upgrades could make this 5 stars like 2 ketchup packets with each meal is a weird thing to cut corners on. I spent way too much time tearing through 15 ketchup packets (once I asked for more) for the family so everyone could have their share of ketchup on their plate. I want to feel like I m a at a restaurant not a McDonald s. Put it in a condiment cup or just have ketchup bottles .

It was very hot on Fathers Day, and I got treated to dinner with my sweetie and our 9 month old. US Open, Astros, and College World series on 3 TV screens. What a great Fathers Day. Kid-friendliness: There is a giant playyard. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicapped parking.

So we had Taylor as our waitress and he was amazing! Food was sooo good. Outdoor patio had an amazing setup and overlooked a huge playground area that my kids had such a blast! Such a great place to come with the family or just to hang out for an outdoor eat under covered shade! Can t wait to come again!

When you have a toddler it s hard going out to eat. But this place was a life saver! The tables were close enough to the playground that I could eat and my son could play at the same time. It was big enough that even with a large group of kids, there was still plenty of space. The food was great, service was fast. Giving 4 stars due to the fact that outside the flies were HORRIBLE. I ended up standing up with my plate and eating while I walked around because you basically had to have one hand shooing away flies and the other eating, if you wanted to eat sitting down. Some fans would ve been nice to control the flies.

First time here, almost didn t find the place as the exterior sign is not lit. Over all, we were not impressed. Burger was very dry. Lacked the juiciness one would expect from a burger. Crinkle fries were soggy. Service was a bit slow as server was overwhelmed with several tables. Probably won t be back.

Title: Mixed Experience at Docs Backyard - Great Playground, Mediocre Food & Service My family and I recently dined at Docs Backyard in Austin, Texas. While the restaurant has a few redeeming qualities, our overall experience was quite mixed. Starting with the food, my burger was pretty average nothing special or noteworthy. My wife, on the other hand, enjoyed her salad, which was nicely complemented by the apple cider vinaigrette. The kids were also satisfied with their meals, which is always a plus. One of the highlights of Docs Backyard is undoubtedly the playground, which was well-maintained and kept our kids entertained throughout the visit. However, our experience was marred by the new Blueish table ordering system. Before receiving any service, we had to order everything up front, which felt impersonal and inconvenient. To make matters worse, our red-headed server was inattentive, leading to multiple issues during our meal. We had to request every glass of water, and we were never provided with silverware or napkins. Unfortunately, I had pre-selected a 20% tip before realizing the level of service we would receive. In hindsight, I would say that the service we experienced was not even worth a 5% tip. In summary, while Docs Backyard offers a nice playground and some enjoyable menu items, the overall experience was disappointing due to the subpar service and new ordering system. Id give it 3 out of 5 stars, but I hope they can improve in the future. Kid-friendliness: Great playground
