So good! First time trying West African foods and I loved it. There was a very kind woman there who let me sample many dishes before ordering. I ended up with eferiro and egusi (im sure those are spelled wrong. Im sorry) with fufu. I am so full, but so happy. Highly recommend.

The was amazing, even though I did not take to some of the dishes I ordered. The other dishes more than made up for it. As well as there being more for me to try. The staff was very patient and informative as to what each dish was how it was prepared and also what it contained as far as ingredients. I love this place will definitely be a returning customer. Plus the marine in me loves the bar they have for adults.

Food: I informed my waiter that it was my first time visiting their restaurant. He came out with a little sampler for me and OMG, everything was so good! It was difficult to decide what I wanted. I went ahead and ordered Chicken, Jollof Rice, Spinach, Plantain, and ginger/pineapple juice. The chicken was a little tough but seasoned perfectly. I can drink the juice every single day. Service: Since it was my first time visiting OlaTee African Cafe, I didn t know what to expect. I did Google the restaurant an made a reservation a half an hour a before my arrival. According to what I found on Google, a reservation needed to be made. I arrived and waited for a bit and I quickly realized a reservation was not needed. I seated myself before my waiter approached me. He was initially attentive and thorough. The attention dropped off later on but no big deal. Atmosphere: The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and spacious. There was music playing which I absolutely loved (not too loud and not too low). I almost jumped out of my chair to dance until I remembered I was in pain, lol.

While we were checking the menu the waiter was SOOOOO RUDE we were trying to ask what we could get what they recommend. I asked what la difference on the rices and he answered extremely rudely just made different then we asked for beef and goat with rice and som fu fu and he s like what are you going to eat it with? Extremely rude overall pissed off for no reason. We obviously didn t know how to eat it or what to eat stuff with overall dishes are different and we aren t familiar with anything. Okay so theres a few things I would like to bring to the chefs/Cooks and the management of this restaurant 1) all rice dishes was undercooked 2) goat was very undercooked meaning if you cant cut the meat with a fork its not done 3) triple was also undercooked and same as goat if you can cut with fork or spoon its no done 4) review your pricing 5) try to do different cambo protein rice and or fufu protein cambo. 1 or 2 protein rice/future cambo You can still change $12 to $14 for those cambos and customers would surely come more often. Just a friendly thought...

If you are looking for authentic Nigerian food this is the place to visit. Quite honestly everything on the menu is good. From the solid(fufu, eba, amala) to rice (jollof rice, fried rice) to the pastries( meatpie, fish roll, puff puff, agege bread) stew/soup( green and red ayamase, efo riro, red stew, gbegiri and ewedu) are all scrumptious. My personal top favorites of the option are the red ayamase, jollof rice and eforiro. I can firmly say it is the best I have tasted so far. The service in the restaurant is impeccable. OlaTee also catered for one of my event and helped manage all aspect of the food and drinks logistics and serving. The service was top tier. I would highly recommended them for your Nigerian food as well as to cater your event.

Food - They have a variety of traditional African foods, specifically Nigerian. My friend from Nigeria loves this place and is how I was introduced to it. All the food is full bodied and bursting with flavor. You truly cant go wrong. Service - The servers and owners are all very friendly and helpful. They love to learn more about you and will always make your food with a warm smile. Atmosphere - The atmosphere is phenomenal. There is typically some variety of afrobeat playing and there are historical and cultural displays painted on the wall to teach you some of what they are all about. I highly recommend eating in.

I was really excited to try this place considering I get tired of the same ole same old restaurant options in the area. So I ordered a few things for take out thinking I could eat some tonight and something else for lunch tomorrow. I ordered the goat pepper soup, the jollof rice and the fried rice b/c I like rice. Unfortunately, I will not be having anything to eat tomorrow for lunch and must admit, I ve very disappointed and here s why it doesn t matter what type of rice dish you re making, if the rice is not cooked properly, the dish is ruined. The jollof rice seem to have some pretty decent flavor but I just couldn t get over the al dente rice. And I say al dente considerably b/c some of that rice was just out right crunchy. Absolutely ruined what could have been a decent bowl of rice and chicken. Now the fried rice? Forget about it. It s not worth ordering in my opinion b/c again, improperly cooked rice and hardly any flavor at all. I did manage to find two lil shrimps in the bowl but I didn t eat them because rice probably sucked all of the moisture out of the shrimp. After trying several spoonfuls, I came to the conclusion that they must be using some kind of parboiled rice or instant rice or something. There was absolutely no fluff to this rice at all. Now to the soup the goat pepper soup. Again, the soup broth was absolutely phenomenal. I d love to just order cups of broth with no goat b/c I hate to say it but I m currently picking my teeth right now of goat meat b/c it was simply too tough. The meat was not tender at all and that s what I ve come to love about properly cooked goat the flavor or course and the tenderness. I really wanted to give this place more start and I m being nice with the 3. The plantains were better than a lot of places I had been and the chicken legs in the rice were pretty good. I will come back and try some other dishes with out rice but this is it for now. This is a follow up review and well as a star removal. I just can t do it! This time I order the egusi soup with fufu. Fufu was nice, warm and delicious. Soup was flavorful but what is is about the meat that they can t seem to tenderize? I swear it was like someone put some tough beef jerky in the soup. Same as last time with the goat. Just too tough and too small of a portion for that amount of money I spent. I m tried twice but I m done with this place.

So I just left out this restaurant and I m sad to say I ll never visit there again. There were two servers, one lady and an older man. I asked to purchase a soup and it appears that they were running out of it and instead of the lady just being honest that soup finished, she tied to sell me last bit of it; one scoop of their green spoon for a full price. I addressed her to ratify it so I m paying for what she s giving me but both the older gentleman and she both caught an attitude. From my past experience, the severs stated they severed two scoops of whatever you chose for a full piece which is within 16oz. Another thing all the food on the trades appears to be sitting there the whole day and it doesn t look fresh and sanitary. I also noticed the green Spoons that they use to scoop out each food isn t washed between serving. I was ecstatic to try some Nigerian food but this is the worst . The food isn t fresh however, they are overpricing by giving less than what you are supposed to pay for. In the mirror of covid and flu season, and all this sicknesses, the food should be fresh or at least stay warm at all times. None of the servers have a mask or gloves on at the restaurant.

Mind you the soups i ordered is like $30+ per one. After 40mins my order was canceled for no reason, i called and ask why they didnt give me an answer, then told me to try again. I did. When i reordered I couldnt apply the discount. It was taken off the page. Like really, What a coincidence. I ordered anyway. My okra with goat meat arrived without any meat in it. Rip off...for $30+ I got just plain okra. My other soups had meat in it for the same price

I ordered the ofada sauce and rice through DoorDash, and found out the sauce had no single piece of meat in it! It only had one egg. Which is so weird, because this is not the normal thing you see in ofada sauce. Not even one tiny meat. How is that possible? I m so disappointed, and as much as I wanted to support a Nigerian restaurant, this seems greedy to me, for the price they re charging. Unfortunately I will not be supporting this restaurant again.

I wanted to love this place. Im always interested in trying different cuisines. The food was okay with a good portion of rice and plantains. Unfortunately, my order was incorrect both times I ordered. Ive ordered twice through Grubhub delivery. I ordered the Jollof rice with additional chicken leg both times. The dish comes with fried plantains. The first time the plantains were missing. The second time the extra chicken leg was missing. Very inconvenient for lunch orders. The dish should really include two chicken legs instead of one to balance the very large portion of rice, but the menu is what it is. I found the chicken to be dry inside both times as other reviewers have mentioned, but nothing to stop me from ordering. I also found the plantains to be dry and a little hard(undercooked?). The rice was very spicy as other reviewers have mentioned, but the flavors were good. It had a smoked flavor. Ill give it a third try before I cross this one off my list.

I ve ordered from this place numerous times, but today, I placed a pick up order through Uber and arrived to pick it up. The bag is in the same spot it s always in with my name and I pick it up then leave. As I leave, I hear someone behind me forcefully saying Hello!! Hello!!? and I turned around. The man behind the counter proceeds to ask me who I am and I said my name is *****, as it says on the bag. He then proceeds to ask me 50 questions as if I am trying to steal my own food. I told him that I would click received on Uber and I will not be returning for any further orders. My name is not hello, hello. He could have been more polite and addressed me as ma am, excuse me, or simply asked me, is the order yours. I am unsure if he thought I was an uber driver or what, but either way, the customer service was extremely lacking and rude, not to mention embarrassing because there were 3 other people in the restaurant when this occurred. I will NEVER return this restaurant or refer anyone here. Absolute horrible customer service. EDIT: $40 worth of food in the trash. Bad customer service can make food taste horrible. Thanks Olatee, for making me absolutely despise a dish I once used to love. Efo riro, cow skin, chicken legs, and extra fufu.

Ola wears the best smile and always welcome everyone that visits. I highly recommend this restaurant to all. One thing that I will suggest to the owner is that the restaurant needs to have a stronger ventilation system that cycles the air in the room to reduce the strong food scent before it gets out of hand.

It was really hard to taste the actual flavor of the food because mine had a burnt taste. Also, the goat was extremely tough the tripe also tough to eat. Staff was extremely nice and restaurant was clean. Might give it another try later

The food Is honestly very dry and bland and was a complete disappointment ( highly over priced) . What was more disappointing was the service, owners (both) are rude and hateful and made me feel unwelcome. Staff not much better. The experience was a waste of not only my time but money . I tried this sorry excuse of an establishment because of its close in proximity but I will now be making the longer drive because I personally prefer quality.

Vegetarian options: Alot of good food with kind staff. Its hard to find good cultural food from my country. This place is a very good place to get your food, vibe, chill and have a good time with friends while eating very well. Parking: Much space for parking

So disappointing. The suya was dry and hard (flavor was ok), the meat pie was bland and underdone, the jollof rice with chicken was dry and a bit too spicy, the fried rice was ok. The plantains were good, but not great. I cant recommend Olatee. Wont be eating their food again.

I stopped here upon returning from a trip to Nigeria be cause I wasnt ready to stop eating great down-home food. I was blown away! The porridge tasted just like it was supposed to, the jollof was even better, and they had goat meat! Service was pleasant and welcoming. The portions are generous too. The setting is relaxing with great music, and some food TV. Everything about this place makes me want to come back over and over, and I will. I highly recommend this place as the standard for Nigerian restaurants in the US. They get all the stars from me.

The most delicious food Ive had in a very long time. We are always looking for different cuisine to try and these Nigerian dishes did not disappoint. The owner and his wife came out to greet us and explain the food and how they were cooked. The sweet woman behind the counter told us what everything was and made recommendations. Highly recommend to anyone who is craving something different from the norm.

Olatee is your go to for delicious Nigerian food. I found them while I was looking for a caterer for my wedding. They were the first Nigerian food service that offered a food tasting option which was exceptional and it gave us the opportunity to try the meals we wanted to serve guests at our wedding. There was no hesitation after tasting the meals that they were the best for the job. They also provided small chops packaged so beautifully for our event and guests loved every bit of it. Every meal was a hit! The professionalism was top notch and Ola made sure we were comfortable and got exactly what we wanted for our event and kept checking up on us. If you re still debating going with them, don t waste any more time. I have recommended them to all my family and friends in the Houston area and will be sure to use them again. Thank you again Olatee!!

I walked into this quaint cafe and immediately liked it. It is very nicely decorated. I walked over to the buffet area and looked at all the food. It looked so yummy. The gentleman that helped me was very nice and informative about all the food. He let me sample what I could eat, as I have some food allergies. He even got me to try tripe. Lol It had a very good flavor but I wasn t sure on the texture. Lol I m very glad I tried it though. I got some flavored rice with plantains, and some goat meat. I enjoyed all of it. Actually I have rice left over for tomorrows lunch. I also got two different drinks. A apple one and another one that had different herbs in it. I loved both of them, especially the apple drink. Thank you for being so kind to me . I will be back with my family.
