We were in the area and wanted Vietnamese food. So we googled to see what was around. Most of tje good places were 4.4 to 4.6 out of 5 stars. But Fu Manchung stuck out at 4.8 so we thought we would give it a try.. it did not disappoint. Not only were we greeted at the door but it was opened for us. The restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. They are family owned and run and the owners daughter waited on us. She was very friendly and informative and helped recommend choices. It was clear she took pride her work. We had the spring rolls for appetizers. They were excellent. We had the pholicious and the vermicelli boom cha y-all. Again both were excellent. They even offered drink cups to go. Excellent Vietnamese food with great service for a good price.

Well what can I say, the food was amazing the service was incredible... really laid-back place. We had an array of egg rolls one of them was filled with cream cheese which was decadent and delicious. Then for the main course I had the chicken curry dish with the Shirataki noodles instead of the rice and it was to die for. We will definitely be coming back!

Ive been here e few times now and must say the food has been consistently good. Portions have been great each time and the service is spot on. My favorite is Pho. And I love there spicy version. Loaded with meat, and all the good stuff I enjoy. I visit alot of Pho restaurants and will typically clear a large bowl with no problem. Last 2 times I coul finish all my broth because I was stuffed. Thats by itself says much. The cuts of meat are a combo of thick and thin and I really enjoy that but most of all the amount of my favorite meatballs that I typically save towards the end at most restaurants? Not here!! There Loaded! Love it. Definitely my new favorite place!.

2024 update We have always loved and supported this restaurant since they opened, but tonight was more than likely our last night. We live further away, and its just not worth it anymore. The service tonight was horrible. We never have any issue waiting, as the food has always been worth it. The wait was way longer than normal, and the food was not worth it. I hope this was just a bad night and not a sign of how it is now. This place is always delicious! The owner really cares about the place and is very friendly. The spring rolls are easily the best Ive ever had in this area. All of the menu items are delicious! Their boba smoothies are amazing! Edit: The Maverick is seriously one of the best meals Ive ever had! Absolutely delicious! The meat was ridiculously tender and cooked absolutely perfect. I dont know how the chef does it. His food is always amazing. Edit: The basil stir fry is amazing as well!

Open again only a couple hours after Hurricane Beryl tore through, even though they could only accept cash at the time. Atmosphere is both classy and down to earth with witty signs and menu items names. It was extremely good service and excellent food, a welcome hot meal and a/c after having no power all day.

The pho gas broth was a little sweet, but thats just my taste. The banh mi was good, but a little too saucy, which can be remedied for next time. The service was awesome. I came here to see if they had any Fumanchung artifacts and seen any, but the greater was very gracious but my waiter was excellent she was the only person who worked that wasn t Asian . The food was great I ate the Gorman egg roll sampler great pic from Lilly my waitress and the Wok n Beef it was tender and delicious . I spoke to the owner of 7 months and she was nice we spoke about Fu Man Chu the villain in the 50-60 Chinese films she knew the history and I showed her some Asian art work I had of Fumanchu and the emperor and his wife so if you come you will be glad you did I drove from the Houston medical center to the restaurant so you know it has to be good plus I posted pics of the restaurant on my Instagram page tentv.live YA

I came here once with my family because I was in the mood for good Vietnamese food. I was coming from Chicago and I knew there is a big Vietnamese population in Houston and surrounding areas. This place was highly rated and it did not disappoint. It was very easy to find parking since they have a good size lot. Service was superb, they took good care of us. We ordered a variety of dishes but I did not taste all of them. We ordered crabby cream rolls, Fu Manchung wings, pho-licious, vermicelli boom cha y all, and hot and mild wontonic. There was another dish but I forgot the name. Everything was tasty and filling. We actually came here when the old owners were still running this place. Quality wise I m not sure how it is now but I hope it s the same.

Tonight was our first time at Fu Manchung and we absolutely loved it! I wish we had gotten our waitress name because she was awesome. When we first arrived she took her time explaining the menu and answering my questions. She made conversation with us and just made us feel very comfortable. Ordered takeaway for the first time tonight for the wife. She said whoa, this is really good! The food came out hot and fast and the smell was definitely on point! Spring rolls were generously sized and the med sized pho looked good too. $22 or so a bit pricy but ok . I took two stars off because of the odd pressure to tip for a takeaway meal. I payed with my card at the front of the restaurant, they front of the restaurant clerk ran the card, finished then walked back to the kitchen, picked up a black bill fold and handed me the receipt with my card and a pen. Why would you ruin what could have been a great experience like that?! I may return sometime, but only if the wife requests.

I love this restaurant so much! by far my favorite place to get pho because of the incredible customer service and top-notch food quality! Their pricing is extremely fair and the owners are so pleasant! We have been coming for years and love coming here because of the energy in this place, so intimate and pleasant . Servers have passion and excitement and the food backs it up! They also have a small kids area to entertain the little ones while waiting (mini arcade-great idea!) You owe it to yourself to try this place. The food was delicious and the unique touches on traditional dishes really hits the spot. My pho had homemade Bo Vien that was amazing and totally unique. The brisket was a very tender, flavorful thick cut. You won t find these in pho anywhere else. And the service was first-class! Btw, they don t skimp on the portions size, it s legit very generous so be sure to account for that. Amazing, will come back to try their other dishes because I love what they re doing. Kid-friendliness: We came with a group of 5 including a 3 year old and they were very accommodating and friendly. Amazing service!

I was looking for lunch with a friend before hitting up the Antique Gallery and we picked this place based on ratings and photos. It did not disappoint. I ordered the cream cheese rolls (yum) and shrimp fried rice. The fried rice was some of the best I have ever had. The young men who waited on the customers were attentive and kind. Overrated. We ordered the Vietnamese style egg rolls for $2 and we got 1 little piece of lettuce per over sized egg roll. The appetizers came at the same time than the food. The Phoa was cold. It had over sized carrots, too many noodles and not enough broth for the broccoli and cabbage. The mushroom broth was tasteless. The shrimp fried rice was sticky and overcooked. They do not serve beer and the tap water had a taste.

I wish I had written a previous review when the previous owners were here, they were just as amazing as the new owners. I swear, every time my sister and I come in we are treated like old friends, the food is amazing and totally worth the extra few minute wait. My fave to order would be the maverick, the Grohmann Sampler, and the Bo Luc Lac (shaken beef). I promise there is something on the menu for everyone!!

I cannot figure out why the great reviews. Currently 4.8. Last night we decided to go check it out. It is strip mall atmosphere, which we knew. The pictures of plates at the front looks great. We were seated right away with 5 tables open. All good. We got 2 glasses of water while we looked at the menu and it tasted like over-treated well water. Even with the lemon slice, WE could not drink it. We placed our order. Ordered hot tea & S4. Spring Roll. The tea was delicious but the spring roll, Shrimp & chicken were awful. The chicken was dry & tough. My wife had ordered the L1. Eloisa s House Fried Rice and I ordered the L4. Vermicelli Boom Cha Y all. If we had ordered after the spring rolls, my wife would have not ordered chicken in the fried rice. Same, tough & dry. The rice was flavorless, it have 2 broccoli spears, and nothing else. No other veggies. Notta! As for the Boom Cha Y all, I had asked for no cucumber & instead, maybe add onion. She wrote it down, but the chef must have ignored it. It came out, looked kinda like the picture, but it had very little flavor as well. Had to doctor up with Knorr Liquid Seasoning. UGH! All in all, the hype of a 4.8 was a huge let down.

I made a reservation for 20 to 30 people for a surprise birthday dinner for my husband. I didnt realize how tiny the actual restaurant is, but they were willing and kind and said they would give us half of the restaurant for the reservation. We ended up having more people and basically took up a majority of the tables. They remained kind, attentive, and ensured that we had a good time. The food was delicious too, and I absolutely will be back. They went above and beyond to provide and make sure we as a group were well taken care of.

We went there for lunch on Saturday. The service was very kind and attentive. We ordered some flying eggroles (spring roles), a small portion of pho and some noodles together with a kids portion of noodles and pho for our youngsters. The spring roles were the best we had for quite some time. The pho and noodles were also very yummy. The portions were texas like, where everything is bigger. The kids were happy as well, while they werent able to finish. It was our first visit, but for sure will not have been our last! Kid-friendliness: Very friendly to kids. Ashlyn and the other staff was so friendly and pleasant. They really let their personalities shine and it makes it even more of an inviting experience. It was my first time so she made sure that I knew of the top menu items and made sure that my picky children ordered something they would love (as they did) I wanted something Hearty but not too heavy and the Vermicelli Boom Cha Y all was on point!!! The Chicka-Currylish is my favorite chicken yellow curry I have ever eaten. The white chicken meat is so tender and the curry is slightly spicy but sweet and savory as well. I could eat this dish every day from now on and never get tired of it. Just try it. You won t regret it. My husband loves Eloisa s House Fried Rice. The food is delicious, the pho was some of the best Ive had in Houston (which is high praise considering the amount of great vietnamese places there are here), and the tea was definitely the best (not overly sweet , thank god). Service was AMAZING. Very kind and warm, everyone there makes you feel most welcome. Chloe was an absolute jewel. This was our first visit to Fu Manchung, and they did NOT disappoint. In fact, it cannot be overstated and just how AMAZING the food is at this establishment! We began by ordering the combo appetizer. The fresh hand-made-from scratch egg roll, Mac & Cheese rolls and crab cream cheese rolls, paired with the in-house barbecue sauce and sweet and sour sauce were the perfect start to our meal. While the Mac and cheese was a surprising marriage of comfort food and Asian cuisine, the pork egg rolls were clearly made freshly in-house. There is no other word for crab cream cheese egg rolls other than a delight! When our main courses arrive, we were astonished at the massive portion sizes, and again blown away with the quality of the freshness and delicious flavors! The Broke A$$ Ramen with all three protein choices (chicken, beef, and shrimp) was so flavorful words fail to adequately describe. You just have to taste it for yourself! (And the shrimp are HUGE!!) My wife ordered the Hot and Mild Spice Wontonic, which she allowed me to sample. It had a bold flavor, Warm, but not overpowering rich notes in the broth that will make your soul sing! The pork slices and wontons were perfectly seasoned. We both had to get to-go containers and ordered Strawbango Furit Smoothies with Boba. The fresh flavors and ice-cold smoothies were a perfect ending to a wonderful dinner out on a hot summer night. And this is ONLY the food! We were greeted at the door with warm smiles and hospitality. Our server Ashlyn never let our water glasses go under half full, and we re filled by no less than four different employees. Every one of them asking how our meal was. Chloe was very engaging and kind. And when we were giving our compliments about the food, Chef Taylor himself came out to ask us about it! I shook his hand, and he asked for our names and treated us like family. If I could give 10 stars I would! Happy tummy and full heart. Such good food and encouraging words decorated everywhere. I recommend looking at menu before to take your time deciding. Upon entering you look at menu, order at front, take your number, choose where to sit, wait for your food. (It comes out rather quickly). Service is great! Tried this place for the 1st time it was good a bit salty for my taste.They cooked my veggies the way I asked but my gfs food was not spicy like I asked for. And I was able to eat off my portion for 3 days.I will say dont expect it to taste like Chinese, or Japanese... its in its own lane and may take some getting used to.

Such a delicious place for dinner after a long day of work! We were warmly greeted by Paul upon our arrival. You order and then sit down and from then on it s full service. The service level was very high, our drinks were filled often and always with a smile and cheer. The decor is really cute and it s really an upgrade from most Phó restaurants. This is a great fusion of Asian flavors! The Phó broth was really good, I did add chili oil because I like a slight spice. Lots of meat in both Phós that we ordered and we got regular size and it was PLENTY! The Spring Rolls - S1 - we re really good and cooked fresh for us! They have a nice women s restroom too! Im visiting from out of town, and my brother and my sister in law were so excited to bring me and my mom here. We quickly learned why. This restaurant is phonomenal. Their broth is fragrant and flavorful. The egg rolls are crisp and light and some of the best I have ever had. We even happily dined on the macaroni eggrolls. Ive tried macaroni fried in several different ways and this was the first time I ever liked it. It wasnt heavy or greasy. It was so good, in fact, there was a man leaving the restaurant while we were entering who repeatedly recommended them. As a new macaroni eggroll convert, I adamantly agree. The best part, in my opinion, was how lovely and kind the employees were. We genuinely enjoyed feeling like guests welcomed in by old friends even though we had never been before. It was cozy and comfortable with a peaceful atmosphere and a seriously friendly vibe. They were unphogetable and definitely a 5 star PLUS experience. The Customer Service was on another level and that was just a bonus. From being greeted at the entrance by the sweetest hostess, being served our food, to leaving, we felt incredibly welcomed. The food was amazing!!! I had the Tom Yummy Fried Rice, my wife had the Pho Chickaoodles, my daughter had Eloisa s House Fried rice with Chicken. The flying eggrolls are some of the best eggrolls I ve ever had. You can tell they were handmade. I believe the gentleman s name was Paul, had a great sense of humor and gave us some good laughs. Disappointed! Interior was nice and bathrooms were clean, but overly loud and bass heavy dance mix killed any sort of low level casual conversation. Vietnamese eggrolls were excellent: 4 rolls however served with only 4 paltry pieces of lettuce, no cilantro, radish, or sprouts or other places in Chinatown, Kim Son or Mais. Bahn mai small and served with pork with a lot of fat. An off menu fusion of rice and bbq pork was bordering on unpalatable: large plate of fried rice with some sweeter added, maybe sugar, likely some syrup, not bbq sauce, only a half of a scallion, maybe a whole egg (though it might have been only half an egg), a miserly meager serving of thin and mushy pork pieces, half of which were fat. $16 for a rice plate with some dessert pork fat. Gross might be too strong an adjective: And we ate only because it was late with dwindling options, and we were quite hungry. Wishing you best of luck.

To start off the staff was super friendly , the place is a little dark and no music certainly doesnt help much. Besides that I ended getting the sampler to start and L4 and my gf got the Pho-licious. For 46 bucks with drinks included the food portions were great on the noodle aspect. But I expect a little more protein for almost 15 bucks a plate. I will be coming back to try other things. Because of the cold weather my husband and I decided to get some pho last night. After seeing the reviews and website we opted to try Fu Manchung. I was very excited because I haven t found many places that have the Fruit Green Tea. The service was top notch, the restaurant was cozy but not too small nor put you to sleep dark, the signage around the restaurant was funny. We really enjoyed the appetizer sampler and my husband specifically loved their Crabby Cream Rolls because unlike traditional crab puffs there is equal part crunch to filling ratio. The pho was amazing, IDK what they put in that broth but *chefs kiss*. I unfortunately committed the ultimate sin of my eyes being bigger than my stomach and only ate about half of my pho. I sadly asked for a to go container and was surprised and appreciative that they packed it up for me (I can be clumsy and probably would have spilled it all over the place). I also got a strawberrylush tea to go to have with my leftovers today. I figured sitting it would have lost some quality but both the pho and the tea were spot on and have really made my day. I don t normally post reviews but really felt led to after enjoying my lunch. We will definitely be back to Fu Manchung and I would recommend you try it as well. Thank you to everyone at Fu Manchung for making us feel so welcome and delivering great food and atmosphere for our date night.

Overall: Absolutely worth it. Food: I ordered P5 which comes with pork/shrimp dumplings, and got a little extra chili sauce. The pho was simply amazing. I think most people really enjoy the sweet/spicy flavor that you typically get with pho and I have never had it jump out at me so much as it did here. The best part of my experience here. Service/staff: The hostess was extremely nice. Store was nicely decorated, with a touch of modern. They were very thorough with cleaning tables and chairs, which goes a long way for me. Food did not take too long to come out. Price: This was the only downside. Everyone is increasing their prices which is completely understandable. Most places have noticeably gone up about $1 for all their meals, but this place has gone up about $2/3 in the past 1-2 years alone which is quite a jump. That being said, you get what you pay for and if you have the money to spend, it will absolutely be worth it.

Was craving pho and decided to give this place a shot since it had high reviews. The pho was unique. The broth wasnt horrible but it also didnt taste like pho. This place markets themselves as not traditional viet nor fast food and they are 100% correct: it is a truly unique place with some of the most interesting (and delicious) Vietnamese dishes. From their humorous labels of dishes to their mini arcade, the entire dining experience is fun and engaging. The food is definitely viet inspired, but comes with a twist (such as the Macaroni and Cheese Eggrolls). But they also have all the traditional dishes for those who don t want to venture too far out. The service was outstanding and welcoming, and I ll definitely be coming back.
