I recently moved to San Marcos from Tennessee and decided to visit this place just to see what it was like. I was not even on the dance floor, merely enjoying a drink, when, suddenly and without any provocation, someone kicked me, made obscene gestures, and shouted racist remarks at me. I can only assume that I am not welcome here, and therefore, I will never return.

I was just strolling The Square by myself when I saw The Vault and decided to come in and scope the place out. Service was ok. Music was great! The main reason I came in alone was to listen to the music and have drinks, but it s DEFINITELY a place to go to with friends. The reason I didn t give 5 stars was because 1, the buss boy or whatever he was, spilled a shot glass right next to my arm at the bar and didnt even pick it up until I did, and I had to clean up HIS mess. 2, I believe I was overcharged when I purchased a pitcher of liquor (pic below). They shouldve been $6, but I was charged $10.82. When I gave the bartender $11 in cash, I shouldve gotten back change, BUT THEY KEPT IT! GHETTO! 3, when it was closing time, I was waiting to use the restroom because there was a drunk girl vomiting in there, and once I finally got to use it, the bar was closed and the Vault staff were obnoxiously banging on all the doors yelling bars closed!!!, as if anyone didnt know that... so after rushing myself, I came out and saw all the men just surrounding the restroom waiting for me to leave. One of the bouncers or whatever, was drunk and obnoxiously told me noOoO when I asked about exiting through the door by the bathrooms (emergency exit). Lastly, maybe it was because I came alone, but the atmosphere wasnt too welcoming, especially as douchebags and their chicks kept rolling in, bumping into me, and the staff being buddy buddy with some customers. Maybe it was because The Square was dead since its winter break, but the vibes were OFF. The only thing I liked was the DJs remixes. Drinks were aight. Ive been to many venues and clubs that beat this place in all categories, and theyre not in San Marcos. Other than that, I will not be returning to The Vault.

The bartender TOLD me and my friends to get off the dance floor so she could make a TikTok video with her friends. She said they were having a moment together and apparently us paying customers were ruining it for her. The guy at the door was so busy talking to friends that kids were slipping in behind him without getting ID d. The floor was so sticky that I walked out of my flip flops twice. I was there for 10 minutes. Never again. This place is run by actual children.

The bouncer named Joel grab my phone and looked through my phone as it was my real ID and trying to find evidence that it was not, when it was. So disrespectful and should never look through a customers phone and grab it out of their own hands next time this happens I will be having the cops involved

I ve been to Sake/The Vault multiple times. I ve never had any issues in Sake. Usually always go there and have a great time. Last night I came in with my friend. Both of our IDs were accepted and we were let in. He wasn t even going to have a drink, it was me. As we were waiting for drinks and were the ONLY TWO PEOPLE in Sake, the door guy comes up to my friend and tells him that he needs to leave because they don t accept neck tattoos?? He has a tattoo of a lotus flower. I was sure this was a joke. I asked multiple times over and over if that was a joke. Judging a book by its cover like that? Not cool. It s 2022. Everyone has tattoos. The good experiences I have had here have been completely voided because of management wanting to discriminate people for how they look. Absolutely disgusted.

Been to this spot for 2 years straight! Now all of a sudden Im getting denied entry because of my hand tattoo?!! For what reason I have no clue. Gang Related? Most likely, but my tattoo says Alone what gang would I be in with that name!? Its ridiculous, maybe because Im Mexican and dont dress like a college student? I dont know all I know is girls get in no matter what even with hand tattoos... its disappointing and really frustrating when Ive been let in multiple times now i am getting denied.. I really loved this place now I feel targeted. It is what it is but this is some bull... Especially when I have never cause trouble in this place... Manager if you see this please know not everyone with hand tats is gang related or cause trouble.. let people express them selfs with their tattoos... thanks....

Amazing atmosphere. Stevie was kind and courteous. Drinks were cheap. Lots of . My only probably is that after I took a girl home I was extremely itchy the next day. Other than that it was loads of fun!

I cant review this place from the inside but I can from the entry point. I was with a 20+ group of friends celebrating her BDay. We were going in bars drinking have fun, dancing, laughing. Until we reached this bar it was 4/6/2022 Wednesday Night around 11pm. We were in line getting ID from the bouncer. I was like 3rd to last at the end of the line. When it was my turn. I was told quickly I cant come in because I have a tattoo on my hand. (Its just a star tattoo not even a big hand tattoo). I was like ok its cool. I was just going to chill outside while they go in and have fun. Everyone in the group heard that they wouldnt let me in because of this they were mad and disgusted by this business. Of course we all left to go to another bar on the square that doesnt judge a book by its cover. I just hope for this business to upholds its policy and doesnt let anyone in with hand tattoos. Because if they do even if its small like a star or barely visible this busineess only choose who they want in the club and profiling people. More info: I was the only black male in the group yeah im a Veteran says on my ID but he didnt even check it. Thanks for reading! I will never be coming back here you know cause the policy

Some coworker who wasn t working at the time came in my face while I was taking care of my girlfriend. My friend was knocking on the door to make sure we were good and coworker frosty yelled in her face. Inappropriate considering he was intoxicated and not on the clock. My friend bought us 2 tequila shots last night and closed her to tab immediately. This morning she s seeing a charge of $9 (for the shots) and then a separate charge of $20?!? She tipped of course, but did not authorize any more charges. She had closed the tab when we ordered the shots and signed her receipt, so I believe someone behind the bar did something without her permission.

Mixed feelings about this place. The concept is great, and the layout works. Add good music and it is no surprise that this place gets packed with lines coming in and lines going out. But here is where the club is losing out. Its understaffed and appears to be mismanaged. Parts of the floor in the larger area are as soaked as an average commercial kitchen floor the only difference is that there are a lot of young drunk women walking around in heels, buying a drink is easier said than done, as what appeared to be a slightly tipsy bartender was serving shots no charge to those one can only assume that she knew personally. A new patron could easily wait 20 minutes at the crowded bar without ordering a drink. The smaller area of the place was in better shape and the bartenders looked alert and had expressions suggesting that they were there to work.

WoW .... I was there in spirit many times ...Through the stories i have heard from another Traveler ! This bar sounds like din. Not very kind to persons of color and the Hispanic door guy was very rude (he let people cut the line that he was cursing at people to get in and letting people in without IDing them) and touched me with too much force (WHEN I WAS COMPLIENT) in a way that I was uncomfortable with and upset by. This bar would be better if they had staff that treated patrons with respect and like the people who keep the club in business. Didn t spend my money here and won t!
