Disappointed with my recent visit to Dosa Bandi. Food was served cold. When we asked, then it was warmed up. Dosa was overly crispy and it seems like made of old idly batter, and chutney was like more water and tangy. Sambar needed improvement. Idli seems like it was made yesterday and it warmed up before serving. Hope to see better quality in the future.

Food is not fresh and they served cold. Later served the warmed up food. Quality and taste standards have gone down. Chutney and Sambar are worst taste. Dosa is crispy like papad. Tastes tangy and looks like dosa batter is same like idli batter.

We don t know his name but he don t know Telugu, not giving minimum respect. food was good but too pricey and oh god the wait time 40 min with out any crowd Please consider when someone gives you a feedback instead of false assumptions or being offended.

Dosa varieties are great. Would highly recommend Bandi kara masala dosa. Nice and spicy. Only thing lacking was they had spoons but no fork or knives. It would be nice to have fork and knife so customer can cut dosa if needed. Great food and service.

My Hubby & I discovered this gem today. After dropping our daughter to her classical vocal class, we had to spend an hour....so we drive around Leander, stop at a Gas station, and parked in the corner, I see this kitchen on wheels, Dosa Bandi. The taste & texture of every item on the breakfast platter was so authentic....kudos to the chef, and her attention to detail! Idlis were soft & aromatic, Dosas were crisp, home made taste, Upma was just right, Pooris were crisp on the outside, didnt leave extra oiliness on my fingers, loved the coconut chutney & delicious Sambhar....plus the great spice level!! Thats what life is right? In the details :-). Their price & quality are matched. Customer service is genuine, wait time of 7-10 minutes is as expected!! Great job!

Everything is expensive here . Food taste does not qualify for the cost they are charging . We provided feedback on their high spice chutney for which the owner did not buy in first . Instead he said this is how they eat at home . After some time they shared us another chutney with low spice. I will not recommend this Bandi . Neither taste is great nor the service

For me, Idli and Dosa are not just food, they are art as well as pure science. Most Indian restaurants and food truck dont get this right in Austin area. They are either way too crispy, or too soft like a hand-kerchief with disproportionate amount of potato-masala and stale/leftover chutney sides. I make damn good idli and dosa myself at home, as I give the right space and time for those wonderful lovable bacteria to nurture the batter. But occasionally we want to help out the local businesses. Dosa bandi, in my recent dosa excursions, comes closest to home-made dosa, with a variety of dosas and some nostalgia inducing spicy chutneys. I hope they continue to maintain this quality. The owner mentioned that he will open a separate non-veg food truck - I like that they will try to keep veg/non-veg separate. Will I come again? Surely.

Just as the name suggests, Dosa bandi is a trailer with variety of dosa options. There are a variety of dosa options which are authentic like the ones you find in Andhra.. with kara podi dosa, bandi dosa and fusion dosas like pav bhaji dosa.. The Dosas are so delicious with crispy outside snd soft inside eith infusion of the spice.. my favorite for dosas. I generally hate idlis but their Butter fried idlis are out of the world.. melt in the mouth with veggies and spices. Their breakfast combo on the weekends are one of the best with 4 breakfast varities..a lazy weekend worthwhile with the food options:)Menu is all vegetarian.

I recently visited the Dosa Bandi food truck, and I have to say, it was quite an average experience. Here are a few reasons why I wouldnt recommend this place: 1. Overpriced: I ordered four dosas and idli fry, and to my shock, the bill came to a whopping $80! For a food truck, this price point is outrageously high. I expected more reasonable prices from a mobile food vendor. 2. Mediocre Food: While my family and I found the food to be decent, it was far from exceptional. We had heard rave reviews about Dosa Bandi, but the dosas and idli fry were just average at best. The flavors were not particularly outstanding for that exuberant price

There is a guy by name Srinivas who is standing to collect the bills and he seemed shady and taking cash. When asked for receipt he still didnot give and then delayed order and started getting frustrated for customer questions . He started fight and the customer has to leave the place because of delayed order. Very bad customer service and planning to complain to authorities about cash transactions and not giving receipts even after asking .

Absolutely delicious, fresh, authentic food with some outdoor seating. Owner is nice and friendly. It does get a lil hot after 10am. Between 9-10am theres a nice breeze. We got there at 9am on a Sunday, the truck hasnt opened yet, so we waited 5-10mins and the owner started to set things up. Another family was also keen to buy already. Only breakfast combo (dosa idlys poori pongal all in)was available. We got the combo with 2 mango lassis, the total was $26 after tax and automatic 10% tip. The food took a while to make since we were the first ones but it was absolutely worth every minute of wait SO fresh and good. When we were leaving around 10:30am it could get a bit busy, I saw a line forming. Im so glad this truck exists in Austin and wants to open for breakfast time. A gem, please lets protect it at all costs.

Ripoff. One pav bhaji (not panneer) is $10.99 (they masked the real price on the truck) + processing fee + tax. And wait of more than 20 minutes at the event Edit: for the owners reply dont like the pricing, dont visit, yes correct but the pricing was not listed for pav bhaji. Secondly, I wanted panneer pav bhaji listed at $9.99 on the poster. After waiting in line for half an hour when its my turn to order, I was told no panneer. Fine no panneer. But, thirdly, I was hoping regular pav bhaji would be cheaper. Alas, it was costlier than the panneer pav bhaji. Fourthly, the processing fee is stealthily sneaked in. Its no where mentioned and you will only know after you pay it. Fifthly, yes, this review is to help people who are looking for pricing info. Lastly, sure, will not visit ever again

That s for two regular size puri and the worthless potato curry. Would not visit again

I generally dont write reviews but this place deserves a mention for Austin and suburbs. They serve most authentic south indian food that is close to home made and fresh. Loved their Pizza Dosa and Bandi Special Onion Dosas. Their Butter fried Idly flavor is also awesome and the podi used for making this very unique and authentic. They also make very unique style bajji where the peppers are cut in half and deep fried with batter which tastes very good with onions. Not sure why some of the reviewers rated low and they may be expecting super cheap food for a food truck but the quality and authentic taste of food deserves much higher price. Austin already lacks good Indian food restaurant and this one is a rare gem to find. They do seem to get super busy dinner time and that speaks volumes about their food taste. We will definitely repeat to try other varieties of Dosas and Idlies.

The dosas are small in size. Comes only with a small cup of chutney. This the first indian eatery I am coming across where you have to pay extra for Sambar to go with the Dosa. If you buy any appetizers like vada or bonda, it doesnt come with any chutney and you have to pay for it separately. Charging restaurant prices without any service or dine in seems like a joke. They are desperate to get back their ROI and are resorting to such cheap tactics. I dont think theyd survive in the competition around them. Definitely avoid at all costs.

Dosa is tasty like a home made one but not like a restaurant one and size is small. Dosa is not evenly brown and crispy. Punugulu $6 for a count of 5, they are overcooked and not tasty. Very pricey and truly average food. Getting charged for chutney in punugulu is something I never heard of. Love the ambience though.
