This place is right around the corner from my office. Absolutely top notch! Ive even braved the weekend traffic on 1604 for some of that pizza. The staff has always been great. AJ has always taken good care of us and her knowledge of beer and wine is super helpful. I love that the owner(Jeff) comes out and talks to the patrons. Very nice touch! You all keep up the great work! Update 09/21/24 Chicken Chile Verde Queso is excellent!!! Thanks for another great evening!

Really nails the feel of a Spanish bar. Just get here early on the weekend as theres limited seating. We tried to come on a Saturday at around 8pm and it was full, including the bar. The times we were able to find seating it was great though. Id probably pass on the food again, not because it was bad, but because it felt a little expensive for what you get.

Great selection of wine by the glass as well as by the bottle. The food selection when I went seemed not as large as I expected. However, it s worth noting that all of the food I ordered was very clearly made with fresh ingredients! The atmosphere was charming and I really liked the wine flight selection. Defiantly a nice spot for a semi-casual evening dinner or evening appetizers and drinks spot! Vegetarian options: Food options include dishes that are vegetarian friendly. Parking: Located in a shopping strip type area, there is plenty of parking available. It s more a matter of how close your parking will be. With that being said, at the most your parking will be a 2 minute walk away. It s really not bad parking at all.

This gem on the Far West Side is wonderful. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The wine selections are robust and diverse. Christian was our wine steward and had a great personality! The pizza, bruscheta, and hummus were great. We were even able to enjoy a cigar outside on the patio. Definitely check this place out. Two thumbs up!

Copa has to be my favorite wine bar in San Antonio. The wine selection is fantastic, and the staff is wonderful. The owner, Jeff, always have time for customers, and is very creative with the themed monthly dinner menus. Christian is incredibly knowledgeable, and AJ is probably the most friendly server/bartender I ever came across. It has become one of my regular-visit establishments, even if I dont live in the same area.

I m not a huge fan of wine, but I keep coming back for the service. AJ is amazing, always friendly and attentive. Offered me a couple options for beers and suggested the pizza which was pretty good. Anytime I m in the stone oak area, I make it a point to stop by. Ask for AJ if you ever stop by, you won t be disappointed!

This is my 1st ever bad review in the making. My 68 y/o mother and I visited tonight and our waitress was very unwelcoming. She was very smiley and friendly with all her other tables except us. Very dry, made faces when speaking with her and displayed dismissive attitude. We also happen to be the only brown people in the restaurant tonight. It s 2024 our money is just as green as your white customers. The other wait staff we have been good to us , just this one young lady short stature, brown hair and drag queen eyelashes. If she doesn t like serving all individuals then maybe she should find another profession.

We simply had hummus and a cheese plate. For drinks I sampled Pino Noir. Loved them all. My wife had Sauvignon Blanc. She really disliked one and would not drink it. They provided a substitute. Very nice of them. Plenty of bread with the hummus and it was delicious. Cheese had a great peach jam that went fabulously with the wines.

Marvin, our bartender, showcased a commendable understanding of wines, guiding us to a delightful choice with finesse. Amidst an array of tapas options, the desire for bread, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar struck a chord. Although not on the menu, our server seamlessly fulfilled the unconventional request. The presentation of the charcuterie plate, accompanied by freshly baked baguette slices adorned with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, resembled culinary art. A noteworthy incident involved a fork mishap, swiftly remedied by our attentive server, who seamlessly produced a new set of silverware. The camaraderie was further evident when another diner warmly embraced our server, pledging a return. Copa, both inside and out, presents a striking dichotomy. The owners and staff curate an experience reminiscent of diving into the enchanting narratives of cherished fictional novels, leaving a lasting impression. Why the delayed review? Ordered a pizza to go online, (this isn t my first time) when I pick up the orders I ve always called and they have brought out the order to me in my car. I called and spoke to an Emoni and she stated that they don t bring to go orders to vehicles and have never done. I did explain to her over the phone that it clearly states online that this is a service they do and I ve ordered before as well. If this is a service that has been discontinued, it s best to remove it online for false advertisement. I also ordered added chorizo to the caprese pizza they unfortunately did not add it.

We we on a Wednesday, and it was very busy because of their $25 tasting. First off, we felt very rushed by the waiter. We had someone running late so we ordered just a glass of wine each e gore getting the tasting. The waiter continuously asked us when the last person would come to start the tasting. We had plenty of time order but he wanted to do it at his time. The waiter forgot things constantly. He never told us what the wines for the tasting where, and we where always rushes for the next glass. Felt like we were forced to chug the wine. On top of this, the venue is old and not very clean. The bathrooms smell horrible, I saw a roach in the light fixture, and the doors are falling apart. When I asked a waitress about the smell she simple shrugged it off said it was the drain and couldn t do anything. If they know they have problems with the smell, there s solutions. They just don t care. The place need to be cleaned, and freshened up. The staff needs to be better and more patient.

I didnt go there to eat any food I went there for a friends birthday, unless I prefer drinking domestic beers, but they didnt have any as a selection. And they didnt have any foreign beers which I was familiar with either. I really love this cozy wine bar! The ambiance is perfect for a romantic date or to come with your girlfriends and enjoy some of the most delicious wines. The selection of wines they have is massive, you can get lost in their wine list! So if you are not an expert like me, just ask the bar tender and he will guide you and get the wine you want. The place is very tavern-cozy-romantic-european like and I love it! The food is also very very good, I have tried almost every item in their menu and everything is delicious. This time we decided to do the bruschetta and OMG what a refreshing and tasting dish, I have tried many bruschettas but this one is one of the best; we also ordered La Verdad pizza, which means The Truth, loved it, all the ingredients so fresh! We have gone to Copa several times per year since they opened. We were there last night with a group of friends. We had reservations for 6. It was a good thing we did. The place was full. We all did the wine tasting ... 6 pours for $25 pp. The pours were a bit on the small side, but the server was very adept at pouring each one the same amount. One of us made a silly comment about not getting as much in her pour as her husband and I think that irritated the server. We were just joking. The servers attitude seemed to go down hill pretty quickly. She was not friendly or pleasant. She came by with our 3rd pour and I was the only one ready so she decided shed come back later so that we all had ours at the same time. I have no problem with that. But, after quite awhile she came back with the 4th pour. We told her we hadnt had the 3rd one yet. She looked at us like she didnt really believe us. She did go get the other bottle and the tasting proceeded. When she came back with the 5th pour, one of our guests had not finished the 4th. She served the 5 of us that were ready and left. When she came back with the final pour, we explained that my friend had not had the 5th pour yet and it was really evident that she thought we were lying to her. I assure you that we are all extremely responsible adults and would never do anything like that ... and we dont need to. Her attitude was a pretty big buzz kill. Copa has a great vibe. The employees are generally pleasant. The food is good. The meatballs are very good! The wines are delicious. PS They used to have something on the menu called the zeta pizzette. It was a SUPER thin crust pizza with tons of mushrooms. I miss that. It was absolutely amazing. UPDATE: Thank you to the owner. I appreciate you taking the time to communicate.

If you live in the area, I definitely recommend this place. Good atmosphere and bartenders are always friendly.. That said, I hadnt been back in awhile and was somewhat disappointed. The food has really gone down hill, while becoming even more ridiculously overpriced for what you get. The place also wasnt as clean as I remembered. The table was slightly sticky and it was smelling more like a dive bar than I would have liked.. Maybe struggling to recover after covid?? If those things wont bother you, I still say go for it.

Whether it be happy hour after work, wine night with the girls, date night with your bo or just a night alone with yourself and a book, the answer to Copa is YES! The environment is very cozy and the service is outstanding. Being that it is a wine bar/lounge there are many options to choose from although, don t let that intimidate you; especially if you are knew to wine tasting. If there is a certain wine you are wanting to try, they will see if they have one open already so you can taste test before committing to it. To be completely honest though, there hasn t been one i ve tried there that I haven t been fond of as of yet. The waitresses are very well versed and the food/apps are all delicious. I cannot say enough good things about Copa. If you haven t gone yet, you need to!

Had a great time.. I could here the music in the background.. which I could hear it a little more:) celebrating Bday s.. very nice & clean. The food was real good!!! The Sangrias- omg so good! Waiter could of been a little more attentive- she seemed a little I don t want to be here maybe it s the fear of COVID. I understand that. She added 20% on all tickets. She had a lot of help. Hopefully they will get a cut. I would I go back again- yes. Thank you for opening your doors. FYI: wine is pretty high. COVID price

It was mid-afternoon and I saw the signage for Copa while in the adjoining shops. It was lit to my liking on the inside, the music playing was favorable, and seating was appealing. The wine list was extensive, but not overwhelming. Prices varied as expected and were reasonable. I was only in for one glass, but enjoyed my overall experience and will go back to partake in the food menu.

One of my favorite places to go for any reason...girls night, special occasion, or just need to unwind from a stressful week. Outstanding wine selection presented by a knowledgeable and attentive staff that is sure to present a great recommendation for even the most discriminating palates. Their small but well-rounded menu is consistently delicious on its on, but is supplemented each weekend by an ever-changing rotation of specials that never fail to delight the taste buds. Copa boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere that draws its many regulars back for repeat visits (myself included) where we are greeted like old friends and treated with care. Jeff and Angie Bridges have created the perfect place for an enjoyable low-key evening with friends.

The owner Jeff cares more about money than customer service. Our last visit on 9/20/2019 will be our last visit sad to say. I used to love the food and atmosphere of Copa. I met my wife there and on the weekend of our marriage we returned with 8 family members. We had 3 different people bringing us food and drinks. I picked up the tab for all of us $291.11. I love to take care of my waiters so I added a generous 20% tip ($60) making the total bill $351.11. On the next day I was checking the weeks expenses and noticed that my bill at Copa was actually $227 to which they automatically added a 20% gratuity. This was not brought to my attention by anyone and I accidentally added another 20%. So the waiter now has $145 tip on a $227 bill. I think you can agree that this was an obvious error. So I called Jeff immediately and told him what happened and asked that he adjust my credit card payment. Jeff told me that he was sorry and I would have to speak directly to the waiter to get my money back. That is totally inappropriate for any customer to do and I expressed that to Jeff and he didn t care that he was going to lose not only my repeat business but my family s and friend s business as well. To date I have over 40 family and friends who will never spend another dollar at Copa. For the record I work at Amazon where we treat customers right, even if the fault is not ours. We value customer relationships and long term customer loyalty over a mere $60. I hope the owners of Copa are happy that they ruined a very special memory for me and my wife.

The wine was very good. I got the Chardonnay Wine Flight and I likes all of the wines. The Althena was the best. The hummus was also very good. Service was good too. Ill be back.

The service is superb! They have a huge selection of wine and you can take home a bottle of your choice (they retail wine). They have tapas, pizza and every 4th Thursday of the month they have a special dinner(reservation only) filled with different wine at every course (3). I HIGHLY recommend a cab called Sand Point. Literally the best wine ever!

The staff is polite, extremely knowledgeable, they have a huge wine selection, great beer options as well. The food is phenomenal, this is a perfect place for a nice quiet evening with your significant other or friends, or a great place to meet new friends. Best place to watch the spurs during the playoff, always a good seat available. They have these awesome end of the month dinners for those who sign up, the theme changes every month, again, food is outstanding. The Copa is a BIG bang for your buck, its crazy good, and a great place to be.

Mediocre wine selection, extremely noisy, slow service, my pizza had slightly burned crust & soggy center. The wine selection was large, but of the quality of what Walmart or Target would carry. HEB carries better quality of wine, just cant sit and enjoy there.
