TRASH!!! Do NOT waste your time or money here. The barbacoa was nothing but fat and gummy. NONE OF IT was EDIBLE! It went straight to the trash. I recommend Caracheo s on Nacogdoches, near MacArthur HS, for the BEST barbacoa in town! Food

Found a bug in the food. Ive had this place before & it was great food and service, but Im writing this review to warn others in the future. The wait was very long and the food looked appetizing, but thankfully we noticed the insect dead in the meat. I hope this is a one time occurrence, but because of this incident, I cannot recommend this restaurant anymore.

Our second time coming here, the food always looks good and taste flavorful but it s always cold. The waitress is nice but kind of dismissive. I enjoyed the atmosphere and music that plays it feels authentic this is probably my last time coming here. It was pretty underwhelming in the end. And I gave it a second chance.

Food is delicious and they don t skimp out on the portions lol! Atmosphere is calm and casual. They play bachata music which is perfect for the vibe and crowd. It s close to Fort Sam Houston base. Waitresses are polite, young, and pretty. They have a full bar and the decor is beautiful representative of Mexico. Excellent variety of food choices on the menu! We had the Migas and Huevos Rancheros. Gonna have to come back to try other items lol. Chips are delicious and the green and red salsa have a kick to them BUT they have flavor. The chips alone were crunchy and good, not oily and bland. The Jamaica and lemonade are delicious. Parking: Parking is minimal for the size of the restaurant but it s not a dealbreaker. Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp for wheelchairs.

First time there, the atmosphere is beautiful, staff very friendly and prompt. The restaurant was clean restroom was clean and also beautiful. They have a full bar had a Strawberry Margarita and too my surprise it was made correctly but could have had more of a frozen consistency it melted pretty quickly. Our order was out pretty quick. The food was good very tasty and good temperature. Their menu has a vast variety of plate choices was surprised that they carry about two different menus in one. Some restaurants have some items but not others this place had most of it except for the Texas or Tejano plate, other than that I was a great overall experience.

Went yesterday morning and the guys in the drive thru were very rude, spent almost half an hour waiting outside for 2 tacos. The guy obviously forgot about me and gave me attitude. Do not recommend going to a place where you don t feel welcomed. My family and I used to love this place. Will not be coming back.

I went to eat there today with my family and wouldn t get help because there was an Old lady waitress there arguing. I heard her threatening to hit this other waitress that worked there. They made a whole scene and the customers all looked over because they were yelling and arguing. I would not recommend eating there because the service was terrible but at least we had front row seats to their show.

I wish I could rate at 4.5 stars. This is one of the few gems that reminds me of California Mexican food rather than Tex mex. Great atmosphere frequented by military, police, neighbors and all in between. They also serve all day breakfast for us brunch loving folk.

Im a regular customer my wife have eating at this restaurant for yrs. But here lately the atmosphere and services has diminished a bit. Starting from getting wrong food that wasnt ordered or just here recently today had dead flies in my caldo. Waiter really didnt acknowledge anything wrong. Just asked if I wanted a different bowl. Also looks like waitress are running around with heads cut off. Not remembering orders or tables. Maybe theyre understaffed. Plus facility needs to have their AC unit looked at as it always leaks from the ceiling looks like mold issue might be building up around the vents from the ceiling and always leaking water onto the floor onto a table. Just needs to get back to the old way they use to run it.

Location was very busy! I was able to get a table, and ordered the asada plate. It comes with asada, rice,beans, salad, tortillas, and avocado slices. The food was good. Asada not very hot but it was ok. On the menu board, they had advertised capirotada. I asked the server if it had peanuts. He shrugged his shoulders and said he didnt know. Thats fine, but I wish he would have offered to find out for me. It would have taken one minute, but no. No effort made. Overall it was an ok visit.

Absolutely amazing! We were visiting the area and found this phenomenal restaurant. My son got a burrito, the other got fajita tacos, and I got a chili relleno. We were all sooo happy. Huge portions, delicious food (even the basics like rice, beans, tortillas and salsas were excellent and on a different level), great service. Just go. You ll love it.

Update: lunches are VERY busy cause their food is so good, and weve learned to avoid it during peak hours. Cash discount. Super affordable, especially the breakfast. Large portions and large sides. Came here for a midweek lunch. We were slightly later than the typical lunchtime so it was quite quiet inside. Our waitress was great, and the food was delicious. We had a selection of different tacos all ordered a la carte. They were all delicious. We ordered all of our tacos on corn tortillas which they make at the restaurant. As usual the food tasted great but our order was wrong. Today we ordered in the drive thru and had to wait 30 minutes for 8 tacos and although we received the correct number of tacos, it was not what we ordered. Ordering ahead is the way to go. We realize the restaurant was busy but it seems that the drive through needs more assistance as there were quite a few cars waiting for their orders as well.

This restaurant has excellent food, service and atmosphere, kinda romantic place to take a date, or just enjoy time with family and friends, except for the guy who does karaoke on Fridays, this is a Mexican restaurant, not a Cuban restaurant, the constant salsa music is boring and dull, and he sings out of tune and overall not a very good artist. Why do you have him there? He is killing your Friday night business. There is plenty of excellent Mexican and other nationalities music with gifted artists who sing well, Los Juanes, Rosio Durcall, Shakira, Julieta Venegas, Jimena Sarindania, Ray Mix, Reik, Noelia the list is endless, put that music and watch your sales go up.

Great food, great people ...if you walk in here expect to see plenty of service menbers from joint base Ft Sam eating alongside construction workers with hard hats covered in saw dust and landscapers right next to folks in their Sunday best.
