They stay open pretty late and we felt like ramen so we walked in over. The server was really cool. He chatted with us and when he realized that this was our first visit, he sent over an order of the Charred edamame gratis for being first time customers. If you bring someone who has never been there they will also do the same thing for them. The charred edamame was incredible. Toasty, salty and delish. We then ordered the Kushikatsu sampler. This delightful dish came with skewers of pork, chicken, and the star of the show, shiitake mushrooms that were amazing. My buddy got the tonkotsu ramen which was pretty good. Im very picky about my ramen having been in Japan several times but as for the tonkotsu ramen Ive had in the states, this was pretty darn good. We had a couple local beers and they were cold and tasty. Overall I was very pleased. Would return if Im in the area. 4.5/5.

Went here with my boyfriend marking 6 months together. We went during the last hour of happy hour and had Olivia as our server. The food was so delicious! We had the pork dumplings, karaage, Mandu, and kushi sampler. So so tasty! I loved the fried mushrooms, they were sweet. We loved the sauces these all came with and found out they made them in house which was so awesome to hear! The drinks were tasty and refreshing on such a hot day. We got the 3-2-1 and painkiller, would recommend those. The customer service was great! Olivia gave us complimentary edamame since it was our first time there and our first time trying the dish (it s good). They bought out a big fan hitting our direction. (The do have indoor seating but we didn t know until after eating) Definitely coming again! Parking: If there s an event the free parking lot is now going to charge you since it s for the event at the Alamo dome, we had to park a couple streets down but only 2 mins walk which isn t bad but a lil inconvenient.

Me and my girlfriend had an awesome experience here. Despite coming in late when it want to busy, we had some awesome service that was always available (thank you Payton) and the food was wonderful!! Staff was so great with recommendations, helping us make great food choices, plus making a very welcoming atmosphere. The aesthetic was so peaceful followed by some peaceful, live acoustic music. Would definitely recommend for couples, and large groups, just make sure to come with empty bellies.

Oh my goodness , I was just going to take it to go and decided to eat here, it was so inviting. Danielle, the bartender, was very helpful with telling us exactly what was in our noodle that we ordered so yummy. I had chicken bone shoyu ramen soft boiled egg nori, shitoke mushroom . She was on point in what I wanted, and made us a lemon ginger soda was yummy. We also had an acoustic ,Mark Berry .He was so good, sang old songs, and updated songs. Good, reasonable price, and they have happy hour Monday - Friday 5-7

Danielle at the bar was amazing. It was our first visit and she gave us charred edamame on the house and it was great. Then she gave us in house dried candied apples, made for the cocktails...OMG! Game changer. I had Tonkotsu ramen that was so delish. To compliment a house made ginger lime soda that was so refreshing! The performer Mark Berry is gifts with his guitar and voice, performing from country and soft rock to Spanish songs. Wonderful time. Coming back and sending friends.

Ok so this place is a hidden gem ! Its so artsy and cozy , the service is amazing everyone is so nice and mindful and pleasant , Eric was our bartender / server he was very personable answered all our questions , gave good recommendations and just really provided a nice experience! The food is definitely made with LOVE from fresh locally sourced ingredients , the drinks too , they try limit waste, happy hour deals are hard to beat the ramen is rich and robust , the mushroom skewers are a must ! Parking is across the street , grab a drink and help the local community is a win win , definitely add it to your list of places to go !

Show up and they mess up my receipt, don t know whose order is mine, try handing me one bag when I had a large order, chased me down for receipts that aren t mine and for a tip when I already tipped online then I get home they poorly sealed the ramen just spilled everywhere and wasted so got home to no ramen. Terrible service by terrible staff. Go elsewhere for ramen and service. Triple check your order and seal containers and tape them if you are foolish enough to order from here.

Recommended to me & I cosign it. I randomly met someone in Alaska who mentioned this in SATX so I figured it was worth a shot. Was not disappointed at all. Olivia helped me narrow down what I should try on my first visit after she put in a order for the chatted edamame & she nailed it. The edamame didnt last 3 minutes in front of me. The ramen was exactly what I needed, the broth had me wanting more. I will be back for another visit to try the kimchi fried rice. The Ron Burgundy was a good treat after the meal.

Very neat place! Our host was friendly and quick to greet us, showing us options of seating, as well as guiding us to the restrooms when they were needed. The bar is a fun place. The mixed drinks are all so fresh, and are made with a lot of attention to detail and flavor profiles that compliment each dish. Our waiter, Peyton, served us and was really nice, efficient, and thorough. He gave awesome recommendations off of the menu, as 2 people in our party had never eaten Korean/Japanese food before. Everyone loved their dinner and drinks! We especially liked that the menu was made from scratch dishes, with a variety of options. The servings were plentiful. Even the small bite plates were great for sharing bites to try different tastes. We enjoyed the fact that there was indoor or outdoor seating. The restaurant has a yardscape with options to keep the kids busy, too. The patio features fans and ample lighting. We were worried there might be flies or mosquitos, but we were pleased not to see hardly any! Note, because its in the city, theres not a lot of parking (as its street parking). We ubered here just fine as its in proximity to anywhere in the area you might be staying if youre from out of town vacationing or on business. Plus, the drinks are THAT GOOD to indulge and ride, instead of drive. Be sure to ask the host/hostess about the *secret menu* ;). Definitely recommend this hidden gem, just a short hop from the Riverwalk! Thanks again, Peyton, for the great service! Well visit again next time were in town. Went here sat may 25 th for a coworkers b day..first time here. I thought how great eatting and helping support charities. Sounds like a win win.. this was a party of 10. So I know it can b a bit daunting. However. Our server was extremely rude.. cutting people off while talking and snarky replies. I thought maybe at first this was a place that insulted customers as a gag. But.. its not. Then at one point she spilt my drink on me. I ordered a scorpion. So it wasnt pleasant smelling of alcohol the rest of the evening. Food was mediocre. A bit pricey but for charity dont mind. Also the amount of flies in this place. We had to fight them off all night. Its safe to say Ill never come here again.. the idea a great. But the server and flies killed it for me. We tried to have a good evening, and unfortunately, my coworkers b day was ruined. Its safe to say Ill never come here again and not only that Ill tell people to stay away from this place..

Ordered the tonkotsu ramen and the broth was flavorful but was not creamy. It had the taste and consistency of a pho broth. The addition of the big and stewed shiitake mushrooms overpowered the taste of the entire ramen and left a strong aftertaste. The fried gyoza appetizer was good though.

The Cherrity Bar is a unique way to enjoy a quality meal, and help others through donations. I am slowly making my way through all their menu items. Their Japanese fusion items are amazing. The small plates and ramen are especially well done. I lived in Japan for over 20 years. It is especially difficult to get the ramen dashi (soup) right. The Cherrity Bar is Spot On!. Everything that I have tried so far has been excellent. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is fantastic. Happy hour Id a good time to visit. The small plates are currently all 1/2 price, so you have the opportunity to try several on any given occasion. My recommendations for you: just pick anything on the menu, and you will be pleased. There is also a secret menu, but you will need to visit to see how that works. If you visit San Antonio, take time to enjoy a meal at the Cherrity Bar.

We went here because I read that the ramen and food in general was amazing. It wasn t. All the appetizers and the ramens were very salty. I don t enjoy salty food at all. I couldn t eat my ramen. The service was good and they brought a plate of edamame as a gift for being our first time there. Really wanted to try this place but the service is way to slow. A lot of flies everywhere so disgusting they need fly traps or something. Wow, what a gem! I would tell all of my friends and visitors to go here. Great food at such a great value. We have been eating on the Riverwalk for about five days and this was a great find. People weren t kidding when they said it was the best happy hour in town. Cheap drinks; and the drink of the month goes towards charity. The small plates are all half off. 5-7pm weekdays, and I think they have a Saturday day happy hour as well. We learned the hard way, don t move the spinning fan on the table; it keeps the flies away. The patio was mostly shade until about 7:30pm. They have indoor seating as well. They also have daily events happening. While we were eating it was a community yoga event that seemed pretty popular. Dietary restrictions: Many options if you are lactose intolerant.

Loved our trip to Cherrity Bar! The vibe is really great and uniquely San Antonio-feeling. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. I had the chicken-shoyu ramen, which was a good portion and tasted excellent, and the charred edamame was my favorite. I appreciated that all ingredients and drinks are as locally sourced as possible, which made all the food really fresh. The service was really impeccable! Our server, Eric, was especially fantastic. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and funny. He checked on us regularly and answered all of our questions. Eric made our experience at the Cherrity Bar even better. Well definitely be returning next time were in the area, and I couldnt recommend this place enough!

The gyoza were really salty, even when not dipped in the soy sauce. I got the tonkotsu ramen with extra pork belly. The broth wasnt flavorful. The spicy sauce on the side really helped it out. Tonkotsu broth is supposed to be rich and creamy. I did like the mushroom topping though.

I didnt want to post about this place because my fiancée definitely loved it. We were trying to find a katsu bowl nearby that would compare to the valley katsu bowls and after so much searching we finally found it at the cherrity bar! Great portions and food. Our server was great and attentive. Only downfall for me was that at the moment they didnt have any of the birria Ramen which was what I was going for BUUUUT ... their other Ramen did not disappoint. The service and environment were very pleasant, the food, not as much. I got the yakitori appetizer, and it was three very small skewers of chicken, which was cold. The gyozas were alright; nothing extraordinary. I also ordered the tempura ice cream and it was bomb. I would come back to this place just for the tempura ice cream heavenly. Had an amazing experience with Abby as our server on Friday night. Food was delicious and service was excellent. We had the Kurage, pickle plate sampler, katsu sliders, and yakisoba adding their in house spicy chili paste. We also had some cocktails from the bar and they did not disappoint!
