While our server was good, she was certainly stretched covering us and the party behind us (and no telling how many other tables). The food was fair, I had the Veal Marsala and the sauce seemed like it was mainly wine. So much so it was the only real flavor of the dish. Perhaps someone else would prefer that, but I don t. The atmosphere was busy and loud (for a Saturday @ 6:30 pm). Perhaps if we weren t wedged between a birthday party and then another large party it wouldn t have been so bad, but my date and I couldn t carry on a conversation without yelling in each other s ears. It was less like a restaurant and more like a sports bar(Saturday night) in terms of the volume around us. Overall my experience there was less than fair, especially for dinner for 2 @ $65 without tip or anything alcoholic. We definitely will not go back on a Friday or Saturday evening. Possibly may try again on a week day but I m not sure we will.

The baked ziti and angel hair pasta is our favorite! The fresh bread with olive oil is so good that you will be full before your main course is ready! The lemon cake is excellent for dessert. Great atmosphere for Italian cuisine.

Great place, great food, and great service. I came here for my bday and the atmosphere was just WOW! as soon as i came in. The waiter asked for the drinks as soon as we had sat down good service. Then i ordered the carbonara with a side Caesar salad and the waiter came with the salad 3 minutes after i had ordered then another 5 minutes the food had came and it was delicious. I would recommend going here if you want Italian food. Parking: Great there is alot of space.

I came for takeout and paid over $40 for 2 people on the lunch menu and bought 2 of the most affordable dishes. Salad didnt come with it so I got 2 ceaser side salads. The food was very underwhelming, nothing special on the pastas. The salad was very soggy with stale croutons. The most disappointing part was I was referred by someone raving over their bread and oil dip. The bread was so stale that when I tore off a piece it was crumbling. I took one bite and stopped there. People must come for the ambiance of the building.

Got takeout for our Anniversary as we have eaten here before and really enjoyed the food. However, this time the salad was missing, pizza for the kids was overly salty, the lasagna appeared to have one noodle so its was a mushy mess, and the chicken for the chicken Parm would have tasted better if I would have gotten a frozen chicken patty out of the freezer. We also ordered dessert. Paid $6.99 for a piece of carrot cake that looked like half a piece, but thankfully it tasted good. Spent a lot of money and the only food enjoyed was the fresh bread and the dessert. We will not eat here anymore.

Very good food. Friendly and attentive service. Price was ok and equal to quality of the dishes. However the only ding I have is the live karaoke music. In my opinion a loud busy restaurant and the sounds of a bustling place doing its thing are better than a karaoke singer and the singer wasnt bad, infact he sounded great and i liked the selection he sang. Its just the two of them fought for control of the noise all through dinner. If you must cover the sounds, please do it with softer instrumental recordings.

The bread and oil/garlic mix was good. The Peach Bellini and wine were very good. However, I paid over $18 for eggplant parm with spaghetti noodles in butter/garlic sauce. It was edible but not great, and the portion size was very small. Anywhere else I d have eggplant to bring home. I did not eat the noodles, what a weird thing to serve at such a high price. The Calamari appetizer was a bit rubbery. My husbands chicken Marsala was very sweet, never had it taste like that, he agreed but ate it. It wasn t terrible, but I live 5 minutes away with this being the only Italian restaurant nearby, I d never return based on quality and price (chicken Alfredo was $27) Also, there was live music? A man singing what sounded like karaoke. Luckily this wasn t date night..

How does this place have 5 stars? Too start I was afraid to sit on the cracked vinyl chairs. Food is VERY expensive and not good. Mustard chicken was rubbery, scraps of chicken, in a flavorless sauce. Couldnt even eat it. Chicken with lemon caper sauce had 2 bones in it. Sausage Cacciatore had too much pepper. Used to love to come eat here. Even had several family parties here, and sad to say, I wont be back. I understand now, why we were able to walk right in on Mothers Day.

My family and I came to eat here Saturday May 4th. My familys food was good except mine. I want to start by saying, their food is actually really good, I mustve gotten a rushed cook or something because mine was super cold, cheese barely melted and my meal was super over sauced. I mean, I could probably get a 10 ounce cup of sauce out of my plate. Youll see in the picture. I had the meat ravioli, which I really feel they couldve had it heated better. The waiter was attentive as much as he could, as it was a bit busy, he kind of just came by really fast as if walking and asking if everything is okay. Also, he made a comment about salad I thought was rude but I dont know if he was just having a bad day. Anyways, I tipped him either way because I know its a hard job that they have and maybe it was just too much pressure for him. Also, I also felt like maybe because we werent dressed the part. I probably wont be going back, I told my family I just need one bad encounter to keep spending my money on a place that cant keep my food warm. But thats my opinion.

So it was apparent just from the menu than this is a fancy pants place. Or at least the prices would have you believe that lol. So i was expecting QUALITY ok? I know that s so basic of us. I know it s not an authentic italian dish. I KNOW THAT ok? But it s what we were craving. And lemme just say it was the middest of all the mid fettuccine alfredo s I ve had in my life. Definitely not worth $20. It was giving luciano s from the mall on a good day. And I d rather have luciano s. Now, I wish I could say that was the end of my criticism and that perhaps alfredo just isn t their strong suit. But it doesn t end here. My bro decided to splurge and add shrimp to his pasta, which was $9.99!!! Never in my life have I seen such high prices for protein add ons. And were he to have added chicken, I believe that was $7.99 or $8.99. Absolutely astronomical prices. So we were obviously expecting the shrimp to be top notch. It was not. It was giving boiled frozen shrimp out of a bag from heb. Didn t look grilled or even seasoned. What a waste, especially since you can still get a meal in some places for $9.99 or less, but instead my brother wasted that $ on abominably cheap tasteless shrimp Ok moving on from roasting lol. The ambiance was very nice (although the chairs were kind of uncomfy). And our waitress (didn t get her name) was exceptional. She was super nice and friendly and kept coming to check on us which we appreciated. The bread was fresh and super good, and you get a generous portion of it. Our pastas were also generous portions- none of us put a dent in our plates and took everything to go. Unfortunately I didn t take pictures of the food at the restaurant, but since I didn t see any pictures of alfredo on here already I thought I d upload a pick of my leftover alfredo from the next day. It still tastes the same actually, that is, mid, but hey I paid for it so I m not going to throw it away. I will admit I m already tired of it after the first two bites though, and it s at this point I decided to make this review. As someone who has been sorely craving italian lately, this was an overall disappointment. I should have insisted we went to Aldino s at the vineyard instead

This place was comically horrid. I m not even mad about it. Shards of ice in my dirty martini. The only thing dirty about it was how bad I felt about drinking it. Chef boyardee-esque sauce. The espresso martini tasted like Folgers and gas station vodka. Some weird dude singing karaoke in the waiting area. Just bland blah dishes. The bread service was stale, perhaps it was dug up in the ruins of Pompeii itself! The pleather table cloths and 1980s diner chairs were just absolutely breathtaking. This restaurant was a gem of a find! I was in the mood for Italian, and this establishment did not disappoint! REAL Italian food and the price wasnt outrageous, but the flavor of everything was definitely ON POINT! I am sad there isnt a location near .e! The Italian gravy was a TRUE Italian gravy, like my aunt would have made! My tastebuds were in HEAVEN! The veal was absolutely SUPERB! And those meatballs! OMGOODNESS! Hands down BEST I have ever had! Our waiver was on top of things too and was a very pleasant young man to chat with. This made for a wonderful evening and experience on our final night in San Antonio.

My husband called and spoke to a gentleman and reserved the small party room for my birthday dinner, two weeks before my birthday. I chose this place because my husband and I had been a few weeks before for date night and it was delicious. The day of my birthday, January 4, he called back and spoke to a gentleman to confirm his reservation. That night, we arrived at 5:50pm, or reservation was at 6. We noticed another party standing near the hostess station but didnt think anything of it. After waiting 10 minutes, a young lady approached us and said that she didnt know what happened, but we didnt have the small room because the room is for 10 or more guests and that they were making a table up for us in the main dining area. My husband told the lady that was not acceptable as he had called two weeks ago to reserve the room and even called today to confirm and was advised by a gentleman everything was good to go, no one mentioned the guest limit. He asked to speak to the manager. We waited another 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the other party was led into the small party room, and we were left to stand there. Finally, the manager/owner arrived to speak with us. She didnt apologize at first. She advised us that the room is for 15 or more. My husband explained that he spoke to a gentleman twice and was never told about the guest limit. She said yea, he should not be answering phones he doesnt know anything. We asked if we could be seated in the other party room and she said no, its full of Christmas stuff. We immediately left and went to Olive Garden and had a good dinner. Yes, the food is good at Pompeii, but the customer service is not. The food is very expensive. Save your money and go someplace where they appreciate and value their customers. NOTE: On Pompeiis own website, it says there is a small room fee of $54.13 and 40 people max, it does not say anything about a MINIMUM guest count, this needs to be updated, is it 10 or 15? Also, there is a note about the party package menu requiring a minimum of 30 guests, again another inconsistency.

Food is always on point. Rosa is always great & very attentive. Shrimp pompei, lasagna, chicken mustard, & there spaghetti were all excellent. Beautiful atmosphere. Took family from Salt Lake City. They also stated its the best Italian food they have enjoyed compared to other places.

Love, love, love this place for a lunchtime Italian fix! The house bread, with garlic oil is amazing, and their house made scratch lasagna is beyond delicious! Our server Susan was on it, and she has a wonderful personality that makes you feel at home! Highly recommend Pompeii!!

We had our company holiday party here. They have a decent sized event room. There was a pre-established menu of three entrees. I had the chicken Parmigiano with butter garlic pasta, house salad, and bread with garlic basil infused olive oil. It was quite delicious. Service was attentive and personable. Ill be back!

The outside of the restaurant looks very nice. Beautiful atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a Pepperoni Pizza, Chicken Caesar salad, and the Fettuccine Alfredo. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Our waitress was outstanding and had great recommendations. We will definitely be returning.

Not what I was expecting but in a good way. We walked up and I thought I was underdressed to be there but it was okay. It was very pretty on the outside and inside. They seemed to have a good list of specials. The waitress was very nice and helpful! Her suggestion for my husbands dish was like perfect. He had so much fun eating it and it was delicious. My dish wasnt as fun or tasty as his but it was still so good. My wine was great and so was his old fashion. Im sure well be coming back!!

Everything was outstanding!! Our waitress Susie was awesome!! She was made sure our meal was exactly how we ordered it and a bonus was that she helped us suprised our daughter for her birthday. A job well done and she went above and beyond. Definitely will come back to Pompeii even though our drive is a little over an hour.

Our waitress was very helpful in our order selection and she was spot on, Dinner had good flavor generous portions and our waitress was always popping up at the right time to top off our tea we will definitely be returning. Very good food. Some of the best Ive had. Service was friendly and made us feel very welcome. Atmosphere was lovely. Its still a restaurant and the tables we not overly crowded close so you felt very comfortable. Building is beautiful with a gorgeous dome with painted sky just stunning.
