I met with Bertha Gutierrez and was very impressed with how detailed she was with the various intricacies regarding my case. I was especially impressed with all of her Super Lawyer awards. She was very cordial and met me as soon as she could since I had a deadline of approximately 8 to 10 days of a crucial deadline that I had to meet. I especially appreciated that she worked me in so quickly. She advised me on what the procedures would be and what I would need to do. She provided me with legal documents. Although, I ultimately decided not to move forward with a divorce, I would highly recommend anyone to seek counsel with Bertha. She asked very detailed questions and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in sorting out my difficult case. Don t hesitate to call her. She will help you sort out all of the difficult decisions that need to be made. She will definitely help you feel at ease in this difficult time in your life.

I made an appointment for my elderly mother to go see Bertha for some legal advice. However, she turned out to be tremendously Rude and lacked Empathy. Bertha treated my mother highly disrespectful and totally ignored her petition. My mother was still sitting in Berthas office attempting to talk to her while Bertha was viewing other files, evading my mothers concerns . My brother was a witnessed to all her mistreatment so he got up and took my mother with him. Please dont go with big, bad Bertha, she is not professional at all! Avoid her and get someone that will acknowledge you as a person, regardless how old you are.

If I could give less stars I would. This woman was of no help whatsoever. She got paperwork wrong, labeled my daughter as a male, included one child that was not supposed to be included in the custody battle causing more problems with the already angry ex. Showed up to court late or not at all. Screwed up temp orders and failed to explain anything she put in the orders. Never returns numerous phone calls and emails. Didn t complete necessary paperwork and was nowhere to be found when I was in dire need of immediate legal assistance. To this day has still not called me back, been waiting since 8/29. On top of that didn t even recognize me when we were at court. Then was handling other cases as we were in court for my case and in the middle of trying to reach an agreement. The woman is either overwhelmed or just doesn t care. Either way, not worth the retainer fee and not worth the headaches especially if you re dealing with a high conflict co parent who wants to call a lawyer for everything.

Our experience was negative, did not take the time to explain the process and what was happening. Kept giving us a very negative outlook on things. Charged fee even when went to pay money! Did not respect that her client wanted other people to be involved and was giving permission to discuss case with them, she denied that and made everything more complicated. Monies paid were never reimbursed because she charged even for the more minute things. We will not recommend her.

It has been my personal experience that Bertha Gutierrez is not only a horrible attorney, but an individual as well. My ex is represented by her, and as in the past, when my ex failed to produce my children for the court specified period of visitation, Bertha Gutierrez, instead of contacting her client and clarifying for her the specifications of the court orders and her obligation to the children, as specified by the courts, chose instead, and at the expense of my children, to not only ensure that the childrens wishes, as well as their mothers obligations, were met, but actively participated in the violation of Texas Penal Code 25.03, Interference with Child Custody. It truly is sad that rather than concerning herself with compliance of court orders and what is best for the children, she would prefer to play legal games, and is willing to do so in violation of State Statutes.

Shes actually not bad, but the entire process is a headache. Theres a lot of disorganized methods and assistant is never helpful, she is just as part of the issue with non-communication and unorganizational skills when handling clients in-person and especially on the phone. If youre super patient, then sure give this office a shot. Im patient but this review score is due to the headache.

I would like to thank you. You are a great lawyer and attorney, and the staff at your office are awesome. I have hired other attorneys in the past to help me with my case but no one stood up for me and rocked like she did. When I walked out of the court room in the past I felt like I lost. My ex she won again and again and again. Bertha ended that and instead of playing defense at court Bertha was on the offense the whole time, and the Judge saw right through my ex s lies finally. Great Attorney. I was referred to Ms. Gutierrez by a current client. She is very direct and doesnt try to sugar coat anything to get you to hire her. She gets to the point. She fights for her clients in Court. I previously had an Attorney that kept making promises and telling me what I wanted to hear but never delivered. He charged me several thousand and the case dragged on. Her rates are reasonable. She worked with me on a payment plan. My case was complicated. In a short time, she made more progress than my former attorney. I would highly recommend her and I have. Her staff is very helpful and welcoming.

This attorney is joke and should be labeled as a fraud. I had gave her money In Aug 2013 to start my divorce and she sat on my case till Dec 31 2013 .dragging the case out till June 2014 She never followed up or returned calls she charged more than what she agreed to. Worst attorney ever dont waste your money her. She honestly deserves -2 stars

Bertha Gutierrez needs to go back to school to learn a little more about the law. When I first contacted her, she assured me that she could help me and made promises about grandparent rights in Texas (stating that I could, without a doubt, receive my deceased sons rights with his children). After taking my money and putting no work in on the case, she informed me that she couldnt do anything to help me as the laws she thought existed did not. Dont waste your money or time. I would give her zero stars if I could
