I came here over the ND-Texas A&M game weekend (Go Irish!). The Backyard has a great outdoor space where you can hangout, drink some beer, and watch some sports. They also have a couple food trucks onsite. I will say, I do have some beef because many years ago despite Texas not being a 21+ state they thought that my 19 year-old ID was fake which is preposterous. I had a great time this time, but I don t forget.

Contrary to what Nathan Russel says, this place actually doesnt suck balls. The environment is always lively and up kept. Some people just cant take responsibility for their own actions and it shows. Ill be back to hang out with the best bartenders and staff on Northgate sometime in the very near future!

Worst bartenders in northgate. Least friendly staff; been bar hopping for the last 3 years and current staff is obsoletely horrible. They don t know customer service and are rude as hell. Both the bouncers and bartenders are on some levels of rude I have never seen before. Staff needs a training update and fast. Good luck to the owners because they need it. This place is going downhill. I would recommend others go to Obannons, paddock, chicken, dry bean, draconian. Avoid this place for the foreseeable future!

The backyard is a great place if you like live music! No boring run of the mill DJs here especially on Thursdays! We like to come watch Jared Shultz sing. Hope they keep this up as it s a Thursday tradition for us!

Local here. This place is fun. This is where Greek life attitude collides with honkytonk Olympics. Which isnt bad. And a much needed offering of variety on Northgate. Like its name implies, the Backyard is best visited when the weather is nice due to the wonderful assortment of games in the backyard. Everyone should visit here at least once while in Aggieland. Especially early twenty types, which seems to be their targeted audience (surprise, surprise-makes sense being it is located in Northgate)...Highly recommended visiting in a group to up the fun. I swear the drinks taste better as you crush your friends at Washers or Cornhole or whatever backyard-there I go again-themed game you put your efforts toward. Downside is, IMHO, the drinks are not college student priced-a.k.a. $$. If you are looking for a more affordable place to drink , you will find an assortment on Northgate to visit instead. Regulars dont frequent this place for the price, but for the atmosphere. In summary, worth a visit when in a group to enjoy a drink while playing a yard game. High potential for a great day drinking location, weather permitting.

Got kicked out for tripping over my boot. I was completely sober. They have an image they like to uphold and have a very arrogant attitude. God forbid you go against their stereotypical look or vibe, apparently it gets you removed from the premises. I was also kicked out another time for no good reason--I had a few drinks and was asked to leave and when I asked why a reason was still not provided. Overpriced, music is mid, and bouncers have a horrible attitude.

Do not go here. Staff is very rude and the service is horrible. Bouncers confiscated my ID (I m 27 years old) as soon as I get entered without reason, refused to give it back. I now have to go without an ID until I get a replacement. First of all, law enforcement is the only person allowed to confiscate an ID. Second, you probably should hire people who actually know how to read an ID before confiscating someones drivers license illegally. Do not come here unless you plan on getting your license taken away!!!!

My disappointment with the bar I visited reached its peak when a group of rowdy drunks started to target me. Instead of stepping in to protect me, the bouncers shockingly defended the unruly patrons, leaving me feeling vulnerable and unsafe. It was an appalling display of negligence on the part of the establishments security team, and I couldnt believe that they prioritized troublemakers over the safety and well-being of their paying customers. This experience was not only disrespectful but also downright dangerous. I cant emphasize enough how crucial it is to avoid such an awful establishment where both the staff and security fail to uphold even the most basic standards of customer care and safety. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair or ADA compliant what so ever and tend to mock you when asked

These bouncers are straight clowns, got a drink thrown on me and cussed out by some big boned women and was thrown out for being upset, this place takes care of trailer park trash and throws out good paying customers. Group they defended were harassing multiple parties and were splitting 2 drinks among 4 people.

Music insanely loud and money hungry business that will kick anyone they can out to get them to repay cover. Twice I have gone there will my friends who were not 21+ and when they went to the bathroom and washed their hands the under 21 markings faded (still visible) and the employees kicked them out. No point in trying to reason with them because youll either leave or pay them another cover to get back in. They always make the false excuse that the sharpie cannot fade even after washing your hands which is obviously a lie since plenty of people have had the same thing happen. If youre under 21 you should probably look somewhere else or just dont wash your hands after using the restroom since youll get kicked out and be forced to repay cover.

Yuck. No wonder anyone older than 25 does not want to go to Northgate. I can understand wanting people who are clearly way too drunk to function, have the bouncers ask them to leave, but isnt that the whole point? To let people drink and let loose? Saw a couple get kicked out for falling down and dancing tonight, on Halloween. Get over yourselves. I Wouldnt have killed such a fun vibe, if BCS was a normal city, their drunkeness wouldve been okay, I guess well just ignore anyone who isnt 21-24. Happy Halloween, killjoys. Awesome experience passing thru! Drink responsibly or the staff will make sure of nice exit with their responsibility at hand... Staff is nice and seems as if they serve you more than a king lol, soon as you finish a drink you basically just hand the glass out blindly and they respond with the speed of lightning! Make sure you stop at the food trucks and balance your drinking and fun, and again drink responsibly!

This would be a 2 star review if it wasnt for such a exceptional staff. Prices are outrageous (except on Tuesday) and theyll often hike them up even higher on Friday and Saturday. Id love to come here more, but whoevers bright idea it is to charge $4.75 ($6.00 on game days) for a single well drink when every other bar around is cheaper (by a lot) is chasing my business away.

Did not enjoy this bar one bit. 3 bouncers were at the front of the bar. I handed over my I.D. only to have a bouncer tell me, now where is your real one? That was my real I.D.! The 3rd bouncer verified it was real. Then they charge $10 for females to enter & $20 for males. Drinks were overpriced and staff was rude. Would never return!

I went to enjoy a night out this past weekend with some old friends. This place is now terrible. It has a very bad vibe; all the bartenders and bouncers are very rude. I had just spent over $100.00 in this bar. As the night is coming to a close, one of the bouncers proceeds to give me a shove. I asked him to not touch me as I was on my way out of the door and being very cooperative with the announcement that the bar was closing. After asking him not to touch me, he proceeds to violently shove me and then is joined by 3 other door men. They all violently removed my friend and I just because I asked someone not to unnecessarily put their hands on me. Upon forcing us out physically with no reason to, they proceed to curse and scream at us at the door. I attempted to let someone know only to be shunned away. Sad to say I will no longer be visiting this bar, and I wouldnt recommend it as these door guys go by their own rules and can forcibly remove you for no reason whatsoever.
