Every visit to Chauma Gaucha is special. The service is superb, the manager checks on you multiple times, if you desire a particular meat or dish, its sent out to you. My only recommendation would be to offer additional sauce types outside the Chimichurri and horseradish (a sweet and tangy bbq sauce, and/or a creamy hollandaise would be amazing). Other than that, visit here for one of the top Brazilian steakhouses in town!

It was mine and my boyfriend s first time here. It was a little overwhelming at first but our server was so patient and gave us the run down. I highly recommend if y all want to try different types of meat a little at a time and figuring out your taste buds. The sides were amazing, so was the salad bar, the crème brûlée was to die for! But I hear their chocolate mousse is amazing. I definitely didn t eat most of the day like you would for Thanksgiving to get the most out of my food.

I ve been to Chama Gaucho many times. There is simply no restaurant that it is its equal in San Antonio. The food is fresh and amazingly good. It s not just the different types of meat, but the salad bar is incredible. The service is unsurpassed. It is a quality dining experience. This is the place to take family and friends visiting from out of town as well.

The wife and i love this place. 7 years now. Update last night went for my birthday amd waitress ran our bill up plus they had construction going on. Had one wine one lemonade, so how does that equal to be charged 2 lemonades and 2 glasses of wine and then charged for bottle water when we were served tap out of silver pitchers. Plus, no refills. Food was amazing as always but the Service was horrible this time

We had dinner here to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had Christopher as our waiter. He was absolutely amazing. Christopher went above and beyond to make my husband s birthday special from recommending drinks to helping us choose a dessert. The flaming cheesecake tasted so good and they even wrote a happy birthday message on the plate. Wasnt the best this time. We were celebrating an engagement and they still charged us for our dessert. In the past when we have come for birthdays they gave us a complimentary dessert. Had they asked if charging us was okay we would not have accepted the dessert. I felt scammed into the dessert due to this. Also it seems like they just bring around the same meats and you have to specifically ask for things like the lamb chop, pork, etc. The salad bar is also lacking and there is no control over which direction people go and this causes chaos when it is a busy night.

Frankly, these guys have what me and my son Max believe is the best service in town. Extremely attentive to the clients, very courteous hostesses from the moment you walk in, ability to make reservations online, awesome servers who know their menu and the meat cuts very well, and managers on top of their game. Honestly, impressive. The food is of course awesome, my favorite being the lamb chops with mint jelly. I love this place. I visit there just about every two weeks on payday as a treat to myself (and my sons sometimes). Highly recommended.

I booked a reservation here for my Girlfriend and Is 5 year anniversary. We arrived a little early due to being from out of town and not wanting to get caught in any traffic, and despite showing up close to 15 minutes early they were able to seat us immediately. The dining experience was great, a very expansive drink menu, with cocktails and wines. The salad bar was amazing with such a great selection of cheeses and toppings, but the real star of the show was the dessert! We ordered the flaming cheesecake and our waitress brought out a glass of liquor and literally set the cheesecake on fire! Im serious when I say it was the best cheesecake I have EVER had. The outside was very crisp with a creme brulee crunch to it, and the inside was so fluffy and perfect in every way. On top of this, they wrote out Happy anniversary on our plate and even gave us a personalized gift! This was truly an unforgettable experience and the wonderful staff definitely went well above and beyond to make sure that we had a pleasant dinner. I would have easily paid much more for this experience, but it was very affordable! Thank you Chama Gaúcha for making my anniversary perfect!

Im a meat lover and Ive been on churrascarias a cross the country, and CHAMA GAUCHA in San Antonio is the best, the meat always has excellent quality and flavor, the temperature as your request is perfect; the salad bar is awesome, cheese and wine make a plus. We ate at Chama Guacha to celebrate my 39th Birthday. It was myself, my husband and 6 year old son. We were cheerfully greeted, had a 4pm reservation, and then taken to our table. We were completely blown away by the wait staff and hospitality. We don t eat at upscale restaurants often, and it was so lovely. I was mind blown when our waitress came over and cut up my son s meat for him! All of the cuts of meat were cooked to perfection, were tender and so so tasty. Excellent service from knowledgeable waiter, tender cuts of meat and plenty of flavorful sides (polenta, mash, plantain) and salad items. Picanha was my favorite along with the creme brule. Drinks were strong and refreshing ( Spring Blossom Martini and Caipirinha ). Tables are packed tightly together so noise level is high. Dont expect to easily have an intimate date conversation. Chama Gaucha is one of our favorite Brazilian Steakhouses, and our recent visit to celebrate three birthdays was fantastic! I loved the lavender lemon drop martini, while my husband enjoyed the green apple martini, and my daughter had the delicious love potion. The salad bar is amazing and filling on its own, but we saved room for the star of the show the meats! The ribeye, picanha, and filet mignon were exceptionally tender and flavorful. One of them carring my favorite meat, noted when I told my husband it was my favorite, and made sure to come by the table frequently. He even mentioned at one point to the manager, who was checking on us at the time, that I prefer the mid rare and he was going to go back to the kitchen for fresh meat for me because he didnt have what I wanted. We were very pleased and impressed. They even offered a free desert, as we were there celebrating our anniversary. Highly highly recommend for any special occaision.

Celebrated my parents 50th anniversary with family and friends and Chama Gaucha made a celebration to remember. I LOVE their garlic steak its my fave! Great selection of juicy, flavorful meats. Steaks, lamb, pork, chicken, the whole farm was available! Everything at the salad bar was delicious, and there was a good variety. Their cheese rolls and sides are all also very tasty. They have an impressive selection of alcohol and drink options as well. Food and service are excellent! Salad bar has enough variety, and if steaks are too rare for your personal taste, you can always ask a different doneness. Im more of a medium-well steak person, so once I asked for it, they started bringing me everything else like that without even asking. Their cheese bread is the best, and you should try the lemonade ($5.95, refill). It is very sweet, so I left it mostly for dessert.

There is no doubt about it, food and service is great. That said, they have increased their prices to a point my family and I will not be going back. $350+ for a family of four is too much. We can eat at any high end steak house for less and both the food and service would be as good.
