I went in with my friend to grab a quick bite since we were in a rush. The tacos were salty with no flavor. The guy in blue was very rude and didn t help us at all. I feel like the tacos and everything weren t as good as people made it sound. I feel like you can go to a taco stand and it s 10x better.

Small place. Stopped here to use their facilities and grab a quick bite. Severely regret it. We were helped by this really rude man in a blue shirt, and i say the word helped liberally, as he seemed to go out of his way to make us leave. Food wasn t great either. The beans were flavorless, the rice was dry, and chips stale. If you can t get down the basics for Mexican food, they really shouldn t even bother

My boyfriend and I were seaching for a quick bite and a restroom as I was having an emergency. I went inside and was told someone was in the restroom. OKAY, i waited for 6-7 more minutes until my bf decides to knock on the door to kindly ask them to hurry up. Someone in the blue shirt started getting in his face telling him i can go somewhere else. He proceeds to tell us he doesn t just cater to us, etc while I was in pain. Another literal second goes by and an employee comes out of the restroom and apologized. I didn t hear her wash her hands or anything in there. It was either that or she already did a while ago and she was just sitting in there on her phone or something. Environment was really hostile due to this particular employee who insist to be combative. I said my piece and left while he just hofts condescendingly while looking down.

The service was ok, the atmosphere was good but the food was just horrible . The chicken tasted like sand and was definitely not home made as the sign outside the door said its probably from canned chicken. Everything else was tasteless too and the bad chicken taste stuck to my mouth for a long time. At least I didnt get sick .

I ordered the taco plate and had it delivered. I liked the way they packaged it to keep the tacos crisp. The lettuce & tomatoes and cheese were separated from The taco meat. So it would be good to put in the fridge and save for the next day. I also ordered some queso. It was excellent and they gave me a Big bag of chips. I ve ordered 3 times now and I have enjoyed each item. Their breakfast tacos are really good too!

Ordered pollo tacos and what came out was a disgrace to centuries of Mexican cuisine. I was given boiled shredded chicken with zero seasoning; boil a chicken breast and shred it, thats what I got. The Carne Guisada was..interesting compared to others. Recuerdos guisada, oddly tastes more of a traditional American Sunday pot roast. The salsa was a great foundation to start with so the tacos that came after was a complete blindside. On a day of multiple Mexican/Tex-Mex food hopping, this was a disappointing low point.

I stopped in for breakfast. It said Texas size breakfast tacos on the window so I hoped to find a spot that made breakfast tacos like they do south of Houston. I ordered migas and a taco to go. The taco isn t similar to what I m used to at home. It s the same as any taco place in Austin. (Look up Nena s in Lake Jackson, TX) No homemade tortillas. The miga s ranchero sauce was exactly the kind I like with fresh tomatoes and peppers with a clear sauce. However, everything was bland. The refried beans are runny. The coffee was very weak and bland too. The salsa was good to me. Not spicy but flavorful. The chips were store bought though. Service was just ok. I sat there for 45 minutes and my coffe was only filled when my food was brought out. The place isn t bad, it s just meh.

I ordered from door dash, I m going to be honest I m a bit hesitant when it comes to any Mexican food here in Austin since I m from San Antonio. I ve been visiting Mexican restaurants around Austin and nothing can beat San Antonio Mexican food. I can never find anything similar or Authentic. It all taste like it either has sat or the flavor is not there. I would like to start and say the food was AMAZING. The charro beans weren t the best but the enchiladas and Carne Quisada topped it off for sure! It really felt like I was eating at home. The flavors are amazing! I will definitely be bringing my family there next time. Y all definitely should consider bringing back homemade flour tortillas! It would definitely bring more people in!

I ordered nachos today at Recuerdos and was impressed. Not only do these come as individual nachos (as opposed to a big pile of chips) they use tostada shells to make even. The chips hold up and the flavor of the toppings was very good. I also tried a carne guisada taco, which would make me want to order this as a plate. Enchiladas looked good, so will probably get those next time.

I absolutely love the food here at Recuerdos. Their enchiladas are always delicious, and chips and salsa are amazing. I honestly dont think Ive tried anything else because their enchiladas are so good. I will say, the last time I came here it wasnt a great experience. One of the waitresss family came in during her shift, and her kids ran around the restaurant crying. Its a tiny dining area so it was very noticeable. During her shift she even sat down and ate with her family even though she had 3 tables to wait on. I completely understand being a family restaurant, but honestly it definitely wasnt the best experience Ive had there.

Our experience yesterday was horrible not to mention the margarita which I asked if they make with Tequila she said yes and later after we ordered and were served told me its a mix.....the server seemed bothered that we even walked in we had family of 5. My son looks at me says mom she doesnt seem to like us. There were only 2 other tables there at the time. They say homemade tortillas but we were served tortillas from a bag. The burrito was skinny and couldve gotten from Del Taco. We came from Houston and were looking forward to eating a local but will never come back. When. You feel unwelcome from the word go and are served food that didnt have flavor and was very out of the can .

Quaint, little restaurant for good, basic Tex-Mex food. The place is tiny so if youre hoping to dine-in, cross your fingers. If the day is nice, order some tacos or burritos and eat in the little park across the street. The chips they give you gratis with the salsa are excellent. My daughter almost got full just wiping out those chips. The tortilla for the tostada was comparatively plain so I just scraped the toppings onto the free chips and fed it to my daughter. Im sure it made her tostada a lot less healthy but at least I also got the beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese in the little belly. Cost is reasonable and the food is good. It was an enjoyable breakfast stop after we got our donuts.

At the first glance, it looks really cozy, but when we entered the establishment we weren t even greeted. My husband tried to ask a question and the lady didn t even acknowledge him. She just turned away and continues walking. Then the waitress came in gave us the menus without giving us a minute to look at the menu to decide what we wanted she went to ask what we wanted. She acted very rude. All the time we were on their phone all the time. All the time we were there not even once the waitress came by to check on us on how we were doing or if we needed anything else. Very bad services. Never coming back.

I had the special plate with cheese enchiladas. The food was fresh. The enchiladas were filled nicely. If you never been this is a small place. I was very pleased with the experience and will be back.

Chips and salsa was good, but that was it! I have never had food so bland. I had to ask for every single thing that I needed from water refill to more tortillas. I don t understand how this place has kept in business.

Saw good reviews and wanted to check it out. As per a few other reviews Ive noticed since then, the service was ok. My wife and I each ordered an entre and I ordered a beer. No problem. When the check came it was a hand written amount for $47.21. I walked to counter to ask for explanation. They looked on their computer POS (point of sale) and told me they accidentally charged me for 3 meals instead of two. I inquired why I received a non-detailed, hand written total when they had a computer system. I also inquired why was I not served 3 meals if the computer sent 3 meals to the kitchen to be prepared. It was explained to me that the kitchen just gets hand-written orders. Maybe all of that is true. Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe they only use their computer system to total meals but not for anything else. OR...What I believe is that I was being scammed. I wont be back and I encourage everyone to match the price of their meals to their hand written receipts when they arrive.

You start with some pretty amazing tortilla chips and salsa. The chips are really tasty. Add the queso for even more flavor. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced. The service was quick and friendly. My tea glass got no more than half empty before the waiter was refilling it. Several times. A nice little Texmex restaurant located in the downtown area.

Small little spot that we are glad we found. Owner was amazing and served the guests personally. Service was fast. Cheese dip and chips were great. The salsa was one of my wife and my favorites ever. Food was amazing and huge portions. We both left extremely full regretting not taking some as leftovers! I got the carne guisada which was phenomenal and my wife loved the enchiladas and tacos. Parking: Parked in 2 seconds.

Not a five star because it is a very small place with 8 - 10 tables. The kitchen and bathroons are spotless. In the middle of main street in Round Rock. Very small. Food was authentic Tex Mex. Breakfast looked good. Lime frozen margarita was good.

We found this place strolling through Round Rock downtown on a Saturday morning around 10am. We didn t have to wait for a table. Restaurant is very family friendly. Staff was attentive. I ordered their Migas plates. It was everything I was craving for. Eggs and plenty of fried potatoes. My wife ordered their breakfast tacos and she said they were very flavorful. We were both filled with our meals and a desire to come back. I would highly recommend this place to someone who is looking for tasty breakfast plates.

Been very happy with my food both times Ive gone. However, my wife got breakfast tacos yesterday and the Barbados was mediocre and the potato egg and cheese taco came out like they had blended those 3 things together and forgot to season it.

Very small and cozy, super friendly service and an amazing family atmosphere, it felt like being at home. Food is very reasonably priced and I love that they offer all day breakfast. Their chips and salsa were delicious, the salsa was very fresh. I had one of their combo plates and it was so filling and the refried beans were excellent and flavorful. The best part was one of the cooks coming out and saying hello and wishing us a happy New Year, love everything about this place, I ll definitely be back. Vegetarian options: Not any protein substitutes listed on the menu but they did make some seared bell pepper and onion to make like a veggie taco and whatnot

Enchilada plate was great. Its hard to enjoy a dinner when the kitchen staff is sharing vulgarities .. Very young Waitresses both spent more time on their cell phones. NEVER came to see if I needed anything else. Customer Service needs a lot of Work. On 11/30/22, my total was $13.23 before tip. Today total was $14.35?? Ordered the SAME plate. Was charged $1.12 more

Nothing really on the menu for vegetarians so that is a bad thing. But I had potato and egg tacos which were decent. The server was nice but she brought flour when I asked for corn tortillas. The decor is basic. If you want atmosphere, go outside. Probably great for meat eaters.

Awesome hidden gem in downtown Round Rock, the food was perfect, I came in for an early dinner approximately 16:00 staff very friendly and prompt, interior very clean and orderly, it is a little small, but appears most customers do takeout, definitely worth a visit if you re nearby, its across the street from the Round Rock water tower...

The chips for chips and salsa were amazing, but the rest was lackluster. Staff just sat around chatting, decor was very dated, and the service was meh. I got barbacoa tacos were incredibly fatty (and I usually prefer mine fattier, so thats saying something), and the enchiladas were drowning in red (dark brown) sauce. The hard taco my boyfriend got looked about the same as a fast food taco, with thick shredded cheese and a messy presentation, and neither of us could finish our meal. I hate to leave such a negative review, especially of a family owned business, but we chose this over the BBQ place down the street bc we wanted good tex-mex and their reviews were pretty decent. (Definitely not the best enchiladas in town as their window says. I had dejavu to Will Ferrells Buddy the Elf and the best coffee in New York. ) Unfortunately, our experience did not match up at all with a 4.4 star rating.
