We came here the other night after seeing the reviews. I love a good Old Fashioned and they had good reviews. I gave my review 4 stars because they didnt use a large ice cube nor a luxardo cherry. Thats everything for me when it comes to an old fashioned. It takes away from the drink, without. But the bartender was awesome. The place is very vintage feeling, old downtown vibes, cool spot. I like it. Good vibes. Hope they get big ice cubes & luxardos

Awesome experience. We rarely come downtown and wanted to have some drinks at a good bar. We sat at the bar. The staff was amazing! Very friendly and very accommodating. The prices are very reasonable and they use top quality ingredients and spirts. Try the house made egg nog! Also the mules with Saint Arnold s Ginger Beer are fabulous. If you are in the area. Pay these folks a visit

Gosh what can I say about this place? Its amazing, quaint, and has such a cozy prohibition vibe. They CREATE art here in the form of cocktails. The mixtures are flawless and tasty. You can choose whiskey from a mini barrel that adds to the flavor and is a gift to the palate. The gin mixtures are top notch and really pretty. Get an empress aviation for a purple colored concoction.

In a post-covid world, this old favorite has become one of the last places to talk and grab a cocktail at reasonable volumes. After a slew of closures and changes (tongue cut closing, public services closing, hearsay closing early, Captain Fox heart changing, etc.), Main street has become a concentration of bars that are too loud to talk/clubs, both of which are functionally the same to a lot of people. Houston Watch has been solid for over ten years.

This bar has that speakeasy and vintage vibe to it. Amazing cocktails. Bartenders can work their magic to create a cocktail that you will like and adjust anything as needed. They are quite knowledgeable in craft cocktails. You can have a great conversation with them or even others at the bar as well. This place is perfect for an intimate date or a drink alone at the bar during slower hours. There is an upstairs area with plenty of seating for bigger parties. The place can get quite busy and it does get loud if its packed. There is a cool vintage safe in the womans bathroom. Its very interesting and everyone should check it out (men are allowed to go in to look at it).

My favorite downtown bar in Houston. Tucked away off a side street between market square park and buffalo bayou, you re still within walking distance of other great bars but far enough away you feel left alone. The staff here are always welcoming and the vibe permeates throughout the cozy, wood and tile setting. The dimly lit back bar is filled out nicely with a large selection of bourbon and whisky as well as other spirits to help imbibe. Staff is quite knowledgeable and quick to turn out the classics. Their signature cocktails like the pray you catch me are always a hit when I bring out of towners in. The space is everything I want in a bar and is just generally really cool.

Best bourbon bar in Houston hands down. Great selection, great prices. I love that you can get half pours for half price, makes trying a 10 year Pappy or Stagg Sr. attainable for us mere mortals. Not usually too many people in here, which is a plus for me. Ive talked bourbons with the bartenders here for over an hour while being almost the only guy in the place, he even inspired me to buy the Four Roses book. This place is a must try for any Houston bourbon enthusiast.

One of the best speakeasy Bars Ive been to anywhere. I couldnt even drink when I visited with friends recently. The bartender took that and my dietary restrictions as a challenge and whipped up an amazing ginger mocktail. The history on this place is also fun, which the bartender took time to let us know all about. The cocktails that were whipped up for my friends made me incredibly jealous.

I rented out Houston Watch Company for a private event and they exceeded any and all of my expectations. I have frequented the bar for whiskey and cocktails in the past and always loved the chill vibe. My fiance (now wife) agreed it would be a perfect place for a wedding weekend welcome party. The bar was super flexible, giving us the whole bar for several hours, accommodating our catering, guest list (70+) and doing an amazing job at the door and behind the bar. I cant recommend them enough for a night out or a special event.

The whole bar is really mellow, while also being fun. The bartenders have a good time, and sing along to the songs with guests. (I had a fun time jamming to Tina Turner.) The drinks are reasonably priced and tasty. The beer selection is good local stuff. I was brand new to this place, but Ill definitely go back. Very cool.

Possibly one of the worst experiences I ve ever had at the door of a bar. The bouncer denied a friend of mine because she had an expired ID, yet she had an American passport which was valid. The doorperson said that TABC laws stated that expired drivers licenses weren t allowed, yet according to TABC s website, The proof of identification may include a drivers license issued by any state, a U.S. passport, a military identification card or any other ID issued by a state or the federal government. Therefore the doorperson was lying. Later, after arguing about her statement of the rules, she said that my friend was slurring her words and had been overserved, most likely due to the fact that the bouncer knew she screwed up as we knew my friend had not been overserved. Overall, I had high expectations for this speakeasy but was let down by a stuck up bouncer. Quite sad for a company that had a 4.8 rating on google. On top of all this she was being extremely disrespectful and condescending to most of my friends.
