Double check to make sure that your insurance is covered. I was told my insurance was only to find out it was NOT. I tried to talk to family care center for over half a year, was told that theyd speak to my insurance and kept waiting. Then was told by my insurance that they were never in network. I would never have gone to them in the first place or wasted so much of my time trying to speak to them (or money because I found out a couple months later). Super disappointing. Dont make the same mistake I made in. Trusting that they take it just because they say they do and talk to your insurance first.

I have been at this practice over a yr. I followed my doctor. Dr Luk Amdhal and he is absolutely an incredibly good Phsyc doc. He s been truly a life saver. My therapist Amy Corina has been absolutely fantastic. She is a real Pro.Sh gets it! Im old school, so I would strongly recommend my Doctor and My Therapist. They spend the time and truly care. They are very experienced and very knowledgeable annd very easy to talk to. I am very satisfied and feel better thanks to them. We all could use a little help every now and them. Don t wait they will help you. I am very happy. No need to suffer. They re good people! Good luck Tim Perez Just do it.

I hesitate to write reviews about healthcare professionals because my opinion is deeply personal and there is something insidious about sharing your experience over the internet. That being said, my goal is to possibly help other people who have felt isolated, full of despair and on the edge of the cliff overlooking the abyss. Family Care Center in Round Rock took me in and assured me I was in safe, capable hands. Dr. Luc Amdahl, Steven Presley and Kim Flowers have been my treatment team since January when I started treatment. They have gone over and above to help me claw my way out of major depressive disorder. And by that I mean they lifted me up, took me by the hand and made me believe there was hope and a better way of living that was within my grasp. Primarily they listened and they assured me healing would take time and trying new therapies. And I persisted. We tried TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) and it worked! We changed my drug protocol, too, and, thanks to Steven s compassion and perseverance, that helped, as well. The third component has been the gentle-but-wise listening ear of my therapist, Kim Flowers, whom I adore. She is guiding me to new ways of dealing with important relationships and helping me see flaws in my thinking. All three of these individuals have given me a renewed interest in living and I can say I am now thriving. I didn t think it was possible, but here I am. I also want to thank Mika, the lead receptionist, for making me feel loved and important EVERY single time I come to the office; Angel, the best TMS technician ever; and Isabel, the prettiest and most positive insurance verifier on the planet. These are MY people, and if you choose, they ll be there for you, too.

Psych Appointment today after being out of hospital 3 days. I m asked to explain my ptsd triggers, then asked to count all my medications. I m then told my appointment has run over. I was told he had no idea what to do. I got to watch a mental help give up on me while looking me in the eyes thru monitor. If you suffer from ptsd causing you horrible panic attacks avoid this place. I cannot speak for all nor will I. This is my experience. Second appointment I might add. I tried calling clinic at 5:06 to which phones had already been forwarded when google say close at 6pm. Clinic responds with reach out yet phones were forwarded almost an hour early.

I could never say enough about how great this practice is! I actually followed Dr. Umdal from another practice because I had been seeing him for a while. He has been the most caring, communicative, professional psych doc Ive ever had. He listens to me patiently, about my current life struggles, happy events and is very professional but he doesnt treat me like a patient, he treats me like a person instead. I just needed to find a doctor that was patient with my many diagnosed issues. It is sad how many doctors dont care or listen and just write scripts and send you on your way. Dr. Umdahl and his amazing med nurse, April, are always checking to make sure my meds are right and dont interact with anything else I am taking. They pay attention and care. Ive never stuck with a Psych doc, because most didnt care or are too busy. On a top of it all, everyone that answers the phone (I think Mika is the one that answers the calls most often) you can hear the compassion in their voice. Best part is they are very efficient and communicate. The doc and April have even called me themselves to check on me. ** I never ever write a review but I had to give Family Care Center big high fives and thanks for helping to shape me into a much more grounded, loving, understanding of myself. It feels good not being ashamed of the medicatins I now take. I have an optimistic look at my life now. Thank you for all of your care and communication. You guys are the best! Crystal Sanders

Scheduling was so easy it s hard to find a flexible psychologist, with next day appointments! I was able to talk to someone telemedicine from my workplace and get my medications quickly! I deeply appreciate that more than you know! (True story)

Not recommended. This place is not professional at all. I got an appointment with Mrs Rachel at 1:30 pm and I arrived 10 min in advance. No one available at the front desk, check in system did not work. After waiting for 15 min I had to call the call center to complain, a lady showed up and told me she would sign me in. I waited for another 20 but no update from them. That lady finally walked out and told me Rachel left the office and not available for my appointment. I waited for almost an hour to get that irresponsible response. It s totally unacceptable as they lied to me. Id never go back to this place.

Family Care Center of Round Rock has been a wonderful resource for me as I work through stressful family interrelationships that revolve around having two disabled grown children. My councilor is thoughtful, well trained, empathetic. And non judgmental. He enjoys helping others and it shows. I now never leave our appointment without a short list of action items I can use when I find myself in difficult situations.

The receptionist was incredibly kind and helped me out since Im in a walker by coming to me with my cards, etc. Then I saw the nurse practitioner and even though it was my first visit, I felt comfortable and taken care of and that I was honestly listened to. Im very glad Ive made the decision to come here.

My sessions with Aimee at Family Care Center have been life-giving. That may sound like hyperbole, but I would testify in a court of law, having been sworn in on a stack of Bibles, and seated in a quart room, filled out in the expected, but still very lovely, wall-to-wall wood paneling, that Family Care Center therapists will get down into the nitty-gritty and walk with you. My time with Aimee. Has allowed me to feel and understand things that I had long since given up on. I feel cared for here, but I also feel challenged and understood and sometimes that s more important than just being encouraged. I can recommend Aimee and Family Care Center with the utmost of confidence. I give them two thumbs up, five stars and Huzzah!

I ve been going to family care for about 2 months now and it s been life changing. I ve been able to work through challenging experiences in my life that had been holding me back from achieving my full potential AND take action to get control of my life back. Very nice office, friendly staff. We love our family counselor Jami Stobaugh who meets with my 13 year old daughter. She is very easy to talk to, teen girl friendly (knows all the shows, music, teen culture stuff). Have been seeing her about six months and already noticeable Improvements. We recommend.
