You expect to receive an average, ordinary experience while dining at corporate restaurants, but this wasn t that. I suggest you leave immediately. From the off color lettuce, microwavable soups, scorched pasta that overcooked under the heat lamps with the sauce broken and curdled, my stomach is screaming at me for trying to eat this food. Please clean up your kitchen, the grungy bathroom, and the dust bunnies collecting on the shelving in the dining room. The only saving grace was the FOH staff, especially the hostess. They provided acceptable service.

What the heck happened to Macaroni Grill?! I remember going as a kid and it was always so much better than Olive Garden. The best. The menu is awful, the atmosphere and service was awful I remember telling my wife I didn t now how they were still in business. Was empty. Will never go back.

First, this is not a cash only place. That needs to come off there review. Its your standard chain restaurant so they take cards like everyone else. Second, like your standard chain restaurant, the food is mediocre at best. It was better before when there was more variation in the menu and it tried harder to differentiate from the Olive Garden. Now the OG is just the same. Third, the service was very good.

Service and Atmosphere get 5 stars because i wouldnt judge an establishment without visiting and this was an uber meal delivered on time. I dont expect my grandmothers food, so this is based on existing low standards. The bread was obviously microwaved, which is a bummer bc it had flavor, but it was hard as a rock! Im keeping it bc I can use it as a weapon until I get home. The pasta was barely cooked or warmed up from frozen because it was very mushy. The chicken parm also had a good flavor but also had a freezer afterbight. The review is solely based on the food.

We went there on a Wednesday night around 630 and it was pretty dead. We were one of two tables. However, the service was fantastic. We were greeted immediately and well taken care of. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was pleasant, the fire in the fireplace was pretty, and the food came out rippin hot. I just ate at North Italia downtown last week and honestly the chicken Parmesan here was better than theirs, and it was a MASSIVE portion. Well priced at $20 too. Caesar salad was also really good and my wife s pasta dish was great with the sun-dried tomatoes. Not sure why the place was so empty, but we will definitely be back.

The restaurant was very dirty. There was limited staff no bartender, and it was during happy hour. We waited for a while at the bar which was very dirty with restaurant books and cluttering. The chef s were wearing vulgar t-shirts and the kitchen was atrocious and super unorganized with plates everywhere that looked filthy. We soon left after sitting there for a while and we did not order any food or any drinks. It was so bad and the atmosphere was just off.

Brought my employees for a company dinner with a stringent budget for meals and after ordering to-go meals for other staff that was still working I was given completely incorrect and ill prepared food and my waiter added an extra 10 dollars on top of the tip I had written on the receipt. Visited tonight 9/23/23 and it was the most horrible experience. The place felt warm and we found out that one of their two AC units has been out for three months. They had fans blowing so we decided to stay. It was a big mistake. They only had one cook so the food took forever to get, eventhough there were very few patrons. Found out he was spending his time doing the take out orders. We had to repeatedly ask for more drinks and when our food did arrive it was luke warm. We were charged for a side we never received but decided it was not worth spending any more time waiting for the error to be fixed. AVOID this restraurant at any costs.

The food was microwaved and still cold in the middle Kid-friendliness: The tables are covered in paper so thats great for the kids. I was expecting more of an adult cloth table place. First of all, the staff is incredible. Evelyn was helpful, friendly, and did what she could to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. The problem I have is with corporate/management. Apparently, the AC has been out since May (we dined today in August). It is ridiculous that such a big company has put a bandaid on the situation by only having a handful of fans in the restaurant. It is a health hazard in Texas with three-digit heat, not only for the customers but mainly for the staff. I dont need Macaroni Grill reaching out for further comment: just fix the problem ASAP. If an employee were to get sick or hurt from working in those conditions, you are liable. What a disappointment--make this a priority.

Ocleta made my time there a joy. I had asked if I could possibly plug my phone in somewhere, so she gave me an available spot far from her other tables. This meant that she had to zip back and forth the whole time, and she STILL checked on me like 7 times, with a smile on her face. Food: Two of the items we ordered, calamari and shrimp scampi, were terrible. Calamari was overcooked and super rubbery. The scampi was tasteless. Service: Our server, Oclita (sp), was amazing. We loved her. BUT, we never saw a single manager in the building. Atmosphere: The air conditioning was down. Fortunately, it was slow, and we ended up with our own personal fan. Summary: Its a sad shame that so much money was spent on such a hopeful opportunity only to be drastically downgraded by poor management. Good management is absolutely required to run a good restaurant, and at this Macaroni Grill, the opposite applies. If you like Italian or Macaroni Grill, youll be disappointed at this Round Rock location.

How far this chain has gone down the drain? Im reading the previous reviews as I am seating here with 98 degrees outside and no AC inside the restaurant and they had this issue for 3 weeks now!.? Our server did a very good job, but the no AC was terrible! We drove 45 min to this location so that I could have pasta as a last meal before an upcoming medical procedure, and the heat in the restaurant definitely made it far from the enjoyable experience I was hoping for. According to other reviews, and from what our sever mentioned, it s been out a month or more! Not only is this surely impacting business (at least 2 tables left in the time we were there), but it can t be safe for the staff to work in a hot kitchen with no AC, in long sleeve shirts and long aprons. Corporate REALLY needs to fix this issue. And anyone thinking about coming in to eat before it s addressed, better wear shorts and a tank top! The food and service were good.

We reserved a table for my sons graduation for 25 people. I even called the morning of to confirm and was not informed that the ac. was broken. We had planned to spend a lot more, along with cocktails and desert. However, in the midst of a heat advisory, that really was not going to happen. My cousin did not receive her salad until the majority of the table was finished and literally running out the door in misery. Drinks were not flowing and we are parched. I recall the food being good here, I have not been to this chain in over 10 years. This place is exactly how I remember the one in Houston. The food was not that good, we had the lasagna bites which were burnt and did not have much taste and the brussel sprouts which we were not a huge fan of. Had a ceser salad and wife had tomato soup. They were both fine nothing special but no complaints. The rest of the meal we took to go, the AC was broken and it was HOT!!! Sounds like it had been out for a bit. It did not feel that bad when we came in but the heat kept building and before you knew it we were sweating at the table while sitting down drinking wine... We decided to eat the rest the next day, so it was microwaved and could have possibly affected the quality. The meals that we ate the next day was the penny rustica and the mama trio - where they horrible, no. The lasagna noodles were burnt but soft on the ends, I had never seen that before. Do I have any desire to eat either meal again, not really. The service was fantastic and the wine was good. My eyes kept getting drawn to the string lights next to the kitchen that had tons of dust on them. Its a shame I recalled this being a decent Italian restaurant, but I have no plans to return.

I want to start by stating our server, Cathy, deserves 10 stars! She was sweet, patient and kind and the best part of the visit tonight. As much as I love the food here, no AC is a deal breaker. As of today, their AC has been out for four days...but they dont tell you this when they seat you so you might just think they just dont have it turned up. I cant imagine how four days have gone by and the manager hasnt figured out how to buy a few fans for the dining room. The restaurant is also dirty. Every surface was covered in dust, and the display table at the front had the addition of hair. Our first set of utensils for all three of us were filthy. Salt and pepper shakers were coated in food. The manager of this location needs some retraining. He/she is obviously not paying attention or doesnt care.

I waited 20 minutes for a drink.... 10 more minutes for bread....I ordered calamari as a appetizer but was told 20 mins after I ordered it it wouldnt be coming out because its frozen.(not something you tell the customer) In my head I thought then why dont you cook it??? When my entrée finally came out of a kitchen with 1 chef on a Sunday evening( 45 mins after I ordered it)........ it was ineatable due to the shrimp being UNDERCOOKED! Who wants to pay to get sick??? We made reservations a few days ago for mothers Day dinner. We arrived about 10 minutes ahead, checked in with the hostess and I was told they were running behind and it would be about 30 minutes before we could be seated. I understand, its a holiday things are busy no worries. Almost exactly on 30 minutes we were seated, the server came to the table before asking for a drink order let us know the soonest he could get food out would be an hour. Seemed strange they the hostess didnt mention this, so we assumed the time was inflated a bit to accommodate the busy restaurant. We order drinks ( tea sand soda) and then order calamari, bruschetta, and 5 entrees ( my son wanted the chicken caprese salad along with his meal. The server brought us bread and olive oil and about an hour in the calamari showed up. 15 minutes later the caprese salad. Hour and half into service I asked the server if he had an idea of when we might expect the rest of then entrees and the bruschetta.... This is where the meal gets weird, he launched into a speech about how the GM knew this was coming and they should have shut down togo orders and how they should have hire more people....he was loud enough that the tables next to ours were now looking and watching this crazy display. He then offered to drag the GM out of the kitchen and give us the corporate number so we could call and complain. He also let us know that he would be calling corporate to complain as well.... Whew...so we declined his offer and instead asked for the check for everything we had eaten so we could go find something else to eat on the way home. He brought the check with the bruschetta listed (bruschetta that never made the table). We let him know he went to the back and out came through hostess with plates of food for our table and she asked,you dont want it? I need to clarify we asked minutes earlier when the food would come out. No one knew and the suddenly it showed up at the table. How sketchy the food was ready and no one knew? Where did this food come from? Was this our order or someone elses? We declined and just asked to pay the bill, the server came back and nearly shouted,good news your bill was comped, you can still tip me if you want to. *I need to note I never asked to speak with the manager, a discount or free food.* I did leave a tip for his trouble but it will be a mothers day meal we will never forget, as I said earlier such a weird experience.

I really hate giving a 1 star rating, but tonight s experience has been absolutely dreadful. We placed a To Go phone order at 7:20pm, and it is now 8:50pm and our order is still not ready. It seems very understaffed especially for a Mother s Day evening which sucks for those working, and I wish management would have just given a reasonable ETA or just stopped taking orders if it was going to take over 1.5 hours for our food. We are starving.

i should have turned and walked out the door as soon as i saw that there was only one table occupied at 7pm. all the other restaurants in the immediate area were busy, so i stopped here for a beer and dinner. there was no host. there were a group of 5-6 employees huddled around the service well of the bar chatting and laughing. i sat at the bar. an employee broke away from the group, looking confused, and said something along the lines of are you here to pick up...? again, this employee seemed VERY CONFUSED that someone would walk in and sit at the bar. i responded im here to have a beer...? they then said they would get a bartender. a couple minutes later, another employee approached me (again, from the guest side of the bar, not from behind the bar) and asked if he could help me. id like a beer, please ...he then looked confused, physically took two steps back from me and said i cant help you with that, im only 18! (are your employees not TABC certified? if they were, they would know that you can serve alcohol at 18 years of age). another minute went by before ANOTHER employee approached me from the guest side of the bar (NOT FROM BEHIND THE BAR, WHERE A BARTENDER SHOULD HAVE BEEN THIS WHOLE TIME), and asked if she could help me. i said i just wanted a beer, she said she would get someone, i said dont even bother. to the general manager: read your reviews. your 1-star reviews are all thoughtful and obviously they are genuine. fix your staff. TO CORPORATE: READ YOUR REVIEWS. YOUR 1-STAR REVIEWS ARE ALL THOUGHTFUL AND OBVIOUSLY GENUINE. Extremely slow service. A near empty parking lot and Only 2 tables in the place at prime lunch time should have been a give away that something isn t right. Had to find and ask someone if they were open. About an hour to get food. Chicken cold on salad, pasta tasted like dirty water. Quality has dropped down poorly in both service and food. Gnats flying around table and smell was not pleasant at the table, smelled like feet.

We were going to try this place for the first time today and made a reservation for 6pm. We arrived a few minutes early, got seated quickly due to the place being dead. Waited, waited and waited for around 20 minutes, waiter passed us at least 3 times. No one ever came to greet us, ask if we wanted drinks or anything. So we ended up walking out. Even on the way out, no one cared to notice. The staff were standing around the kitchen area laughing. First and the last time Ill ever bring my family here. Poor service.

I havent even eaten here yet. All I did was try to set a reservation and ask a question about kids eating free on Mondays and I got the worst customer service in a long time. I called yesterday and made a reservation for today and the person said that kids do not eat free on Mondays . I called today just a few minutes ago and one lady picks up and says hello and then hangs up in my face , I called back and somebody picks up the phone and leaves it off the hook so I am sitting there listening to music and background noise and people talking. Multiple websites online say that kids eat free on Mondays and Tuesdays but when I came to the restaurant and asked the manager the manager said no.

We havent been here since pre-covid. Some of the same great servers working there. The food has changed. No pizza, endless salad or soup. I ordered a salad with chicken. I expected to see a cooked chicken on top of a clean salad. Instead, I received a chop chop style chicken drenched in dressing. My other had spaghetti and meatballs - the red sauce was very bland. Not sure what has happened.

I had the chicken Parmesan and it was absolutely delicious the sauce the chicken and the cheese absolutely delicious. The staff was professional and courteous the atmosphere was warm and welcoming the tables were clean and as were the facilities. To start with, the wait staff couldnt figure out who was even waiting on us. Eventually, we received bread. It was doughy, salty, and overall didnt taste good. Appetizer was next, the macaroni bites. Bland cheese with little taste, and they were luke warm from when they were brought to us. We ordered lasagne, chicken Alfredo, kids spaghetti, and kids pepperoni pizza. Waiter asked if we wanted Parmesan, brought us ground pepper instead. Lasagna came oily with minimal sauce. Chicken Alfredo came with little sauce and was as bland as the Mac and cheese. The only flavor was the red pepper flakes that came with it. Pizza had almost no pepperoni and giant chunks of tomato in the sauce. Spaghetti came with no sauce. Taste overall for everything was abysmal. We left having only eaten small amounts of each dish, and I cannot remember a time I have ever done so. Overall, basically $80 for the worst meal and service Ive ever received in a restaurant. Kid-friendliness: My kids said theyd never eat here again.

Had a wonderful experience and meal. Bella was a spectacular waitress, the food was delicious, and we will return. Bella is the first and only waitress I have ever had that was concerned whether or not my 5 year old liked her food because she wasnt eating much. Cant recommend enough. Kid-friendliness: The dining tables are covered in paper to encourage kids to draw and color on them. A coloring menu and crayons are also provided.

On Saturday, 3 December 2022, I placed an order at the Macaroni Grille in Round Rock, Texas. I ordered: Truffle Macaroni, Truffle Fries , Pasta Milano, Pick 2 Apps which were bruschetta and fried mozzarella, Kids meal Alfredo and Ravioli, 3 Loaves of rustic bread, which was to be picked up at 8:30 p.m. I arrived at 8:28 p.m. and called to let them know that I had arrived, and that I was in slot 3. I was told that, they were bagging my order right now, and that it should be out in less than a minute. At 8:47 p.m., I went inside and asked about my order. I was directed to the bar where they told me that my order would be out, in just a few minutes, and that thy were frying up the fries. I went back outside, and waited patiently for my food. At 8:55 p.m., I called and asked to speak to a manager, I was placed on hold and then a manager came on and told me that, a lot of orders came in, and that my order would be out in a minute. (No apology, no asking for understanding, just basically telling me that I was going to get my food whenever they decided to give it to me.) The manager finally came out at 8:59 asked if I was my name, put the food in my window and left, almost causing me to drop the food. All of this was frustrating and unacceptable, but the condition of the food was what really caused issue. I was missing the Fried Mozzarella from my order, The kids pasta had no sauce on it, the macaroni had the incorrect noodles and was dry and unappetizing, the bruschetta was warm and mushy instead of cold and refreshing ( A clear indicator of how long the order had been sitting at room temperature), the drinks were wrong, all of the food was stone cold unappetizing and inedible, but none of that was the worst part. I received spoiled Olive oil and Moldy cheese! A kitchen that is that careless can not be trusted, and frankly is probably in violation of many health codes. Ironically after all of this, the receipt was suspiciously absent from my bag. Luckily it was an online order, so I had the confirmation number via email. Not only was the food of poor and unacceptable quality, it was unsafe and unsanitary to eat. We had to go and spend another $73 on food after this. This was a horrific experience all of the way around. I paid $69 for food that I couldnt even eat. I tried to call back and request a refund but I was put on hold and they never answered again. I called again on Sunday, 4 December 2022, and I got the same response. The service was bad enough, the food was horrible, but the mold really was just far too much. I was on Vacation and unfamiliar with the area, so I tried to pick something familiar to eat and I ended up regretting it. If you want delicious food, amazing service, and a good experience, then do not go here.

I came from Portland, Oregon to visit my son for my birthday. I was had a late flight and was hungry! I was so excited to find this gem that left Portland years ago. I used to take my son to RMG, so when I saw it I was elated to visit with my son.
