Weve ordered from this restaurant three times, and while the first two experiences were good in terms of both food quality and price, our most recent order was quite disappointing. It seems there might have been a change in management or the cooking staff, as the dishes we received, especially the chicken curry and butter paneer masala, were watery and lacked flavor. Its unfortunate because we had previously recommended this place to several families, but based on this last experience, were hesitant to do so again. Even the price was not competitive compared to the food quality and quantity.

Really friendly service, the cashier was so nice to me & my kids. Really good food too, chicken was so tender. I like a little more salt in my curry but that is just me. Dont sleep on the sweet stuff, the drinks and dessert as well as the kashmiri naan were quite good. Definitely coming back.

I have read other reviews, and maybe they had a bad day here and there, but I have found their food to be very good. They even gave me the spice level I requested since I have young children who do not care too much for spicy food. Since living in Rockwall, TX, they have been my go-to spot for Indian cuisine.

People were nice! However the food has went downhill! They use to have the best lamb vindaloo! Literally use to frequent this place since 2018. However I went Sunday and ordered Lamb vindaloo and Tikka Masala! Seems as if they add water to the sauce to thin it out or to stretch it. The masala lacked body and depth! Even when you pour it over the rice, it s almost translucent! Normally the sauce is thick and bold . This was just horrible! And the lamb taste like beef! Didn t have that aromatic flavor that it normally has! I spent like $60 in the end to only have to trash it! Also the samosa has potential! I like the seasoning ontop. That s what saves it.

My daughter and I really enjoy Tikka Masala. One Sunday after church she requested it. We usually go to Roti Grill in Dallas (which we love) but didn t want to travel far so decided to try Curry Express in Rockwall. What a HUGE mistake. The tikka Masala tasted like orange colored water. No flavor, with a little spice. I couldn t believe it. Would have called them but they were closed by thentime we made ot hime to eat. The tikka masala was so watery it rinsed the chicken in the bowl, making it turn white when scooped up. The Naan bread had burnt garlic bits on it. It looked buttery but had no flavor. This meal was a total bust! We will never return to this place again. $21 for a terrible meal. Buyer beware

Great place!! The service is always so attentive and kind. The food is INCREDIBLE! The samosas were probably the best Ive ever had between Texas and California. They sprinkled a spice and salt mixture on top of each samosa and it just made it that much more delicious. I tried their vegetables samosas, and their chicken tikka masala with a spice level of 5 out of 10. 5 out of 10 is has a kick but I wouldnt necessarily call it spicy, of course everybody has their own gradient when it comes to spiciness. The naan was very delicious of course, the tikka marsala sauce was very good and they gave me plenty of it, with a lot of chicken pieces inside. The inside atmosphere is comfortable, its booths and tables, or you can walk up to the counter and order. I did see two parties sitting at a table and being served. Watch out for their hours as they do close after lunch and before dinner but their dinner hours are 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during the week, lunch was around 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. I wouldnt mind coming and trying something new. They even offer sodas for only $1.50.

We went thinking it was a buffet, but the only options up front were minimal and seemed like it was not fresh. I ordered fried rice naan chili chicken and chickpeas. Average tasting for chickpeas and chili chicken was over spicy, my poor husband who usually has an iron stomach, had gastritis after eating. Kids had butter chicken and rice, my son had a ton of curry and not alot of chicken Im his serving. Maybe if we ordered from the a la carte menu we would have had a better experience vs selecting what was already there. Either way we were not too thrilled with our Sunday lunch. I came here for dinner with some friends last week and it was delicious and so worth it! I have been trying to find some good Indian food in the Rockwall area but havent had any luck, so this was a nice find. Definitely going to come here again! We got the samosas as an appetizer, and those were amazing. They came with this green and red chutney sauce (I think?). I dont know the name of the sauce, but the red one was delicious. I ordered the Paneer Butter Masala with mild spice and naan bread. The sauce was so rich and creamy and it worked so well with then naan bread. For the price, the portion was also very generous. I got a mango lassi for dessert and I liked it a lot too. I was told that it was a little looser in texture than a usual mango lassi, but I still liked it a lot. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and theres also plenty of parking! Its fairly easy to get to. Overall, good food for good prices. Recommend!

Only option for Indian food in Rockwall. Food is overall average. Have ordered butter chicken from here on two separate occasions and the flavor seemed watered down in comparison to other Indian restaurants I ve ordered from. On a positive note, the portions of some of the dishes like the lamb biryani are fairly large (to the point that you could share your meal or save half for later). However, the caveat for the aforementioned dish is that the rice to meat ratio leans heavily towards the rice. Restaurant could definitely benefit from being renovated. All in all, it s a pretty decent restaurant and the staff is super nice but I ve been opting to drive across the bridge from Rockwall to Garland instead as the quality of the Indian food there makes it worth it.

I always have reservations about restaurants with the word express in them, but this place makes some delicious Indian food. We just moved to the area and have tried a couple fancier places, but Curry Express is way better than what we have tried. I dont know how to rate this. The folks inside are always very nice and the food is tasty and you get a good amount of it. But, the facility is nasty, nasty, nasty. Close your eyes and imagine you are in another country at a local restaurant with lower standards and you might accept it without any complaint. But here in Texas,? I would think the health department would at least ask them to store boxes off the ground and that the dirty clothing and other items not be in the hallway or that the restrooms be kept clean.

Modest place that covers the basic North Indian staples. Good for those wanting a quick takeaway on their way home. Spice levels can be customized upon request. We pass through Rockwall a few times a year. This time our go-to spot was closed so we opted for curry. The place is quaint, but its clean, the service is good, and the food is delicious. We got the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala with rice and Naan. They ask you what spice level you prefer (mild, medium or hot) so youre not stuck with a certain dish at a certain spice level as a lot of other curry places Ive been to do. Unfortunately, first and last time Ill ever try ordering take out from here. Upon reviewing such positive reviews here, we decided to try it out since weve never had Indian food before. The pictures of food looked delicious so we ordered almost 60$ worth of food, vegetable briyani, butter chicken, chicken Tikka, 2 samosas, and 2 orders of flavored nan. We picked up, drove all the way home, started serving our dinner, food smelled and looked amazing!! But after serving myself the butter chicken, I immediately saw a black hair in the orange sauce. I fished it out and had my stomach turn! The place was already closed but I figured id try calling and figure out why this happened. After being passed to several people and put on hold I was told id have to wait until they reopened on Tuesday to receive a refund since they were closed but after I voiced my concerns he agreed to wait there until I arrive to administer the refund. I arrived 45 min after close, brought the food and showed them the hair we found, they then decided to refund me the full amount and tried offering us canned sodas to compensate but at that point I had not ate all day, I was very upset our dinner was ruined and still have to wait several more days to see if I even receive the money back I just couldnt accept anything more than just my money back. I hope others are cautious and check their food more often because I would have been extremely sick had I actually pulled that hair from my mouth. Absolutely no one wants to find hair in their food, just the worst experience. Although they said it was the first time its happened, I think i just happened to be the only one to see the hair through the thick sauce. I just hope and pray no one has to find hair in their food because its definitely something that is hard to forget !

Ive had the pleasure of having lunch from here a couple of times, and have never been disappointed! My personal favorites are the goat curry and chilli chicken! The staff is kind. The meat is tender. The flavors are always well balanced. I believe that you can taste the love that is put into cooking every meal. I can not wait to eat here again! 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Today I had the paneer saag and chicken masala with their biryani. The restaurant is very clean and I like how they only put out a small amount of food out in the line. They have a lunch buffet and it is only $9.99 or 10.99 + tax. Their chili chicken is spicy , but we still get it. Their chicken tandoori is good. I like their naan and it is ALWAYS fresh. The man that always helps me at the lunch counter is very nice. I really like this restaurant and that is saying a lot because I only like two restaurants in Rockwall. TLDR: Delicious healthy food. Nice service. You get a lot of food and more food than spending the same $ at a fast food place.

Today s goat curry and goat biriyani was better than great. It was perfect! Just the right amount of spicy where I got sinuses opened up, but could still taste the deep flavors of each dish. The lightly sautéed onions paired well with the biryani. My dad really liked it. We are both fans of the spices here. I got medium spice biryani and hot level for the curry. I asked for it to be above medium but not quite at hot. It was an odd request I know but it turned out phenomenally good. Will be returning for more since winter is beginning and spicy Indian food is in its prime. Whoever was the Chef this day that made our food, many thanks and kudos to him.

This was my second time trying Curry Express. First time I only got an order of kheer (Indian rice pudding) and I was disappointed I LOVE kheer but found theirs to have an odd texture and the flavor just wasn t great. However, I noticed they have great reviews and decided to give them a try for an actual meal. I really enjoyed my paneer butter masala, veggie samosas, and the naan. The chutneys are pretty good too. I can not exclaim that it s the best Indian food I ve ever had but it s solid and scratch made. I definitely recommend them, especially since it s the only Indian joint in Rockwall. My only complaints would be the kheer and the drive thru set up they have going on. They doors are locked and you must drive around back for drive thru service. The restaurant backs up to the parking lot of a shady budget suites type motel where plenty of shady characters were hanging out back there. It was still daylight so I wasn t too concerned but when the time changes and it gets dark early I probably won t choose to get food from here for that reason alone. Hopefully by then they ll feel better about actually opening their doors up or will take that into consideration for their patrons but seriously too risky. Someone eventually is going to take advantage of that situation.

This place is incredible! Since the dining area inside is still closed due to covid, just call ahead and pick up your order around back. We had just happened upon this place randomly. The man who came out and took our order was very friendly and took the time to explain the situation and answer any questions we have. Everything we ate was delicious, hot, and offered in generous portions. We typically frequent Roti Grill and although we do prefer their Naan, we will most definitely be back to eat whenever in Rockwall!

Stopped by on a Saturday and their dining room is closed for Covid. BUT they have a drive-thru in the back and Im so happy I didnt leave!! The samosas were awesome with a great green sauce for dipping. Honestly, I dont know the name of the sauce but it was delicious. It came with 2 samosas so I saved one for another meal. I had Chicken Tiki Masada with naan. It was so yummy!! I only got 1/3 of the way through the Masala, it was hot with an amazing sauce. So full and was able to save rest for another meal, at least.

Horrible place to get Aloo Gobi and second of all in many places can you get a full meal of the entree, rice and naan for 12 dollars ish. This place charged 15 for Aloo Gobi and Garlic Naan - no rice. Save your time and money and go elsewhere

This place is incredible! I have been meaning to try it and am so glad I finally did. Perhaps the best Indian food I have ever had, and I have many Indian friends whose mothers and grandmothers are amazing cooks. I had the goat biryani, chicken saag and chilli chicken. All were amazing, with good portions. Im going to come here alot more and grocery shop alot less.
