There is a bartender here name Larson who is simply amazing. There was a mishap with my debit card and Uber Eats. So I went to the restaurant myself and because my card would not work when I got there because Uber eats took all the money even though the order was not completed, Larson took it upon himself to pay for our meal . Now that is true customer service. I would recommend this place to anyone, for the simple fact they know what it is to give excellent customer service with a friendly face. I had a lovely lunch today because its Taco Tuesday and I will be back on another day besides Tuesday. I received the tastiest tacos Ever...They were so Yummy!!! The customer service was very personable, friendly, warm, and inviting plus the patio was quaint with very good music! I even had a drink straight out of a glass specifically from...Mexico! The food, vibes, and ambiance was excellent and terrific! I had fun dining with my Tacos and Sangria with...Superb Customer Service...Thank You...On the Border for a delightful tasty meal and the Sangria(s)...Ill definitely be coming back!!! This location continues to disappoint. Server with pants sagging (not pleasant to see while having dinner) was more interested in chatting up a table with a couple of girls and chewing gum intently than serving our family. Why are servers allowed to chew gum and have their pants drooping down under their hips? We were basically ignored for most of the visit. Food was subpar compared to visits at other Mexican food locations specifically the chicken fajitas were very dry and served cold. Probably due to the servers attention being focused elsewhere. Fortunately, there are many dining options in the area, so not returning is the best bet.

They never have a good bartender. You can tell it s poorly managed because they can t make decent drinks anymore chosen by the customer. I eat out @ least 3 times a week I ll skip this ON THE BOARDER For outback steak house. Turn over is high as well I used to love to come just for the adios Mf because I love this drink in particular with the food What kind of Mexican restaurants bar can t make an audios MF? Poorly managed NO qualified bar tender. New kids managing who look like they not even old enough to drink let alone make a famous one. PASS .

We loved this place and would definitely recommend. We were looking for a real Tex Mex place and this fit the bill. First off, our waiter was just awesome. I wish I could remember his name but he is in the photos making the tortillas. Superstar and sooooo friendly. He was a genuinely nice guy that cared for us and wasnt just gunning for a tip. We were on a 4-week journey through the US, mostly in Texas. We ate in so many restaurants from top to bottom of the country, but his service was standout among them all! We thoroughly enjoyed our food and the portions were huge so we were able to have leftovers in our hotel the next day. They were also generous with the free nachos and salsa. But seriously, the food was fantastic and we love good food. We also enjoyed watching them make the tortillas fresh, out of which, Im guessing, the tacos were also fried fresh. And the decor was quite lovely. Had that perfect mix of Mexican, fun, cozy, and classy. Kid-friendliness: Fun kids menu so the kids dont miss out on the Tex mex. However if they arent into that, there is also chicken strips and corndog and fries.

Marcus was out server and he was amazing. The food overall was good, if a little over priced. We got queso, 2 alcoholic drinks, and fajitas for 2 and spent a little under $80 before even tipping. The food wasnt bad at all, but not worth $80. The restaurant itself was clean and had good vibes. All the other workers and the general manager seemed super nice too, although we only spoke briefly. While it may be out of our budget in the future, without the queso and drinks I think itd worth it

Visited on a Monday around 5pm. Jackson was out server. He let us know about the reward program they offered .We started off with a Margarita and Jackson informed us it was on a happy hour special which was great and some queso and chips. I had the endless enchiladas and my wife had the fajitas. Our food was promptly served . Other than mine being lukewarm which I brought to our Jackson s attention the food tasted good. During our visit we discussed how professional and what an amazing job Jackson had done. All the little things like keeping our drinks filled checking in on us but not in anyway excessive. Just ordered the Ranchalads. Things started off well as my remarkable waitress was a great listener and was very responsive. Got my meal rather quickly . And at this point I was thinking this place has turned a new leaf. But.... as I looked at my meal I noticed I had beans and over cooked steak as I ordered medium. So I ask my kind waitress to have it corrected for me. Another 10 min goes by and received my corrected order which I thought it was until I saw it still had rice instead of double rice as ordered. So instead of taking the dish back she opted to get me an extra side of rice. Shortly I found out why the whole dish wanted corrected. It was due to the fact that they had a stand in management/ cook from Mansville. Apparently they cant listen and or just lazy cause the second dish that came out was still my first so now I have cold enchiladas and rice. The only thing I can tell you is ask who the cook slash manager is before eating here because not having listening skills and just flat out being lazy can only tell you the rest you need to know before you eat from this guy. On the last day of our mini vacation with our son, we stopped by because I had only seen the name on gift cards and was curious about it. The place didnt disappoint. The place was half full, and our waiter was beyond friendly. His personality made our dining experience worthwhile. As far as Tex-Mex restaurants go, On the Border has the best complimentary salsa and chips. That is some good spicy salsa, compared to other Tex-Mex/restaurants that provide chips and salsa. The plates are well served. The grilled fajitas and shrimp smelled delicious and were not dried out. I only wish there was a location nearby to be able to enjoy more frequently.

They say they make their tortillas fresh and I ordered some to-go, but they tasted, smelled, and looked like store bought. Everything about this location is just okay. It doesnt stand out as being great, honestly well probably be back because its nearby but its definitely not a favorite. The food was very dry. Our server didnt ask how we wanted our steaks cooked so they came out well done. We prefer medium rare. We had to wait long periods for refills. While the waitress was nice she wasnt very attentive. There was almost no one there when we went on a Thursday Evening so we got served appetizers and food pretty quickly but everything was very underwhelming.

It s been about 20 years since I ve eaten at On the Border because I moved out of Texas. Last night OTB didn t disappoint us!!! OTB was one of my favorites I lived in Texas! From the moment we walked in we were treated with great service and food. Our server Jacob was in training and although new to the restaurant business did a very good job! Our glasses were always full, the meal was well timed, the service was perfect and most importantly food was plentiful and delicious! There are many Mexican restaurants to choose from in the Dallas Fort Worth area, but on the borders worth giving a try!

I usually don t give bad ratings, but today was the height of what type of service I received. I can t blame Grubhub because the gentlemen only delivered the food. I had two items missing from a $77.95 order and was shocked at the customer service that no longer exists with this company. I would have done better ordering from McDonald s. The restaurant appears to be in its final months of operation. It has struggled with staffing ever since COVID, but has not seemed to overcome this challenge as well as most others. During this visit (and others over the past couple of years) we waited too long to be seated in a half empty dining room about 6:30 PM on a Saturday. We watched as several parties turned around and left before being seated. For some reason theres always a problem getting our drinks from the bar in a timely manner, with the server saying the bartender is backed up. There were four people sitting at the bar and the bartender not showing any signs of being overly busy. One person came in, sat at the bar for 5 minutes, then left after no acknowledgement or service. There was one or two of the staff that seemed to have a sense of urgency but the rest did not. I hate seeing this because we love the food at OTB but it wont survive without changes.

Service at this location was terrible on 2/22. My wife and I waited 35 minutes for our drinks when they finally showed up one was wrong. Took another 15 minutes to correct and finally take or food order. Watch 2 tables that were seated after us get there second round before we had our first. They were not very busy. Ive eaten at this restaurant numerous times over the past 10+ years. On my most recent visit (05/08/2023), the service was great, and so was the food. I was pleasantly surprised to find some new menu items. Our server was well educated on the new items and made good recommendations. The server was understanding with regard to my elderly mothers special requests for her meal. Her food was prepared exactly as she had requested, and our server checked in on us to ensure her meal was to her liking. My 5 year-old granddaughter was with us, and the kids menu had numerous options for entrees, sides, and beverages. In addition to traditional Mexican entrees like tacos and enchiladas, they also offer corn dogs and chicken strips. Good variety for little ones Overall, we had an enjoyable e experience. ***UPDATE*** I took my parents out to dinner, and they requested we go to On The Border. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and were seated right away. Complimentary chips and salsa. Our drink order was taken and brought out quickly. The food was very good - with the exception of the Tortilla Soup I ordered. It seemed greasy and overly spicy. Ive always been a fan of OTB Tortilla Soup, so I was disappointed with what I was served. Im hoping it was a one-time thing, so Ill be ordering it again when I go back, and Ill update my review again. Other than the soup, everything else was delicious. The service was great, and the restaurant was busier than my previous visit.

When we got there Friday night at about 7:30, the parking lot was almost empty. When we got in there were only a few tables being used, however the host had to go wipe down a table for us to use. We were taken to our table but not given menus. Our waitress came by to take our order but we couldn t give it because we still had no menus. She gave us some and we ordered the fish tacos (not pictured) and the Border Queso Beef Enchiladas. My husband said his fish tasted like the lowest quality fish sticks he s ever had, and my dish came to me with cold beans and rice and salsa verde on top of my queso. Not a big deal except that it looked like salsa that was weeks old at best (not to mention most of my plate being cold). I asked for them to fix it, which they did. However the second plate I received (pictured) had hard, undercooked tortillas and when I tried to cut the enchilada to eat, all the filling fell out. Honestly there was barely any filling anyways. It just looked and tasted so unappetizing that I only ate 2 bites. Our service also wasn t great because they had our poor waitress serving, bussing tables, making tortillas, and who knows what else. It took us forever to get out of there. Also ladies, I did go to the restroom there, and while it was decently clean, the gaps in the doors are so large that you don t get much privacy when doing your business. You could make full on eye contact with the other persons whole eyeball if you wanted too. Just creepy and uncomfortable.

When I arrived, I stood at the front for about 5 minutes without anyone acknowledging me. I was in clear view of the servers. I finally walked to the back by the tortilla machine and informed them I was there for a pickup order. One server told me to have a seat and she would check on it. She came out a few minutes later and said it would be a few more minutes. Mind you my order was supposed to be ready by 12:21pm and I arrived at 12:42pm There were only 7 people in the restaurant: 2 at the bar, 2 at another table and the other 5 at a third table. After another 3 minutes a different server came out and asked me if I had been helped. I explained I was there for a pickup order. She went behind the bar and brought me the order. I can only speak on how the food was based on what I saw being served at the tables while I was there picking up an order because I was delivering it. The food smell amazing and very delicious and well presentable. The staff there were very friendly and very much on point with smiles and even wishing happy holidays and Good Day greetings. They even have outside seating for you to dine outside. Parking: Plenty of parking in the front, and on the sides and in the back of the restaurant. Went there today for Sunday lunch. There was a female employee with band aids on her fingers pressing tortillas without gloves on, proceeding to scratch her face and when she came to greet guest wiped her hands on her butt. Once done with the guests she went right back to pressing the tortillas without washing her hands or putting on gloves. When she noticed that we were watching she put on one glove, her other bare hand still touching the food. To say this was a concern is an understatement. It is clear food safety violation. I understand that they were short staffed today but basic food safety cant go out the window. How did I know they were short? The same employee told just about every guest she greeted that she had an employee call out today. Does that make her the manager? The food is terrible. I ordered takeout since I was at work and this location is just a few minutes away from my job. I ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup that was cold, it had a couple of chunks of chicken that I could not put in my mouth without having to grab a fork and knife. The worst part is that the chicken tasted terrible because it wasnt freshly cooked chicken. Dont waste your money.

We went yesterday and asked to sit at the patio. The server was annoyed by this and said oh its windy there has been chips flying away. Mind you there were several other people sitting in the patio. Placed a to go order waited in the to go area for a really long time before seeing a single employee my food had been sitting in the bar area the whole time so food was cold, quality of the food was poor! Chips were stale & the queso was in a tiny bowl for a bowl of queso ($10) which was not much bigger then the container the hot sauce comes in & it was only half full. Food is tasty and the restaurant is in good condition. Unfortunately, this is now a very expensive restaurant. Plan to spend $30 per person if you order beverages. Every entry is at least $16. Today I witnessed some of the worst people I have ever seen and it was not the employees. It was the customers. I came in with my husband this afternoon and completely expected to be on a wait. The young girl in front was very polite and explained it was a 15-20 min wait. We took a seat and as my husband and I waited we observed people upset there was even a wait, people arguing to the host who was very patient pointing to an empty table demanding they sit there when, Im assuming she was a manager, noticed commotion and came to the front and explained she wanted them to only have the best experience and as soon as a table was open to accommodate them (I at least counted 7 people in their party) she would sit them. She tried to explain that the table they were pointing to would be too small and they would not all fit. It was 1 small square table. They ended up just leaving. I saw the manager try to sit a smaller 3 group when they refused to sit there because it wasnt a booth! My husband and i heard other peoples complaints on the wait. This manager had more patience than I could ever have! Servers were working non stop all while smiling. We could see the manager bringing food to tables cleaning tables making drinks even took the table beside us order! Our server was ilhamm. (Not sure of spelling)and she was wonderful. Food was great. We both ordered fajitas and had margs. It might have taken a little longer than any other day but the chips were fresh and the salsa was the perfect amount of spicy and considering it was mothers day it was completely understandable

the restaurant did not make the order that I ordered online, they made the delivery people feel very uncomfortable by telling them that they would not make what I asked for even though I ordered it before 9 p.m. on Saturday . Instead of the birria tacos they sent something else that tasted bad, it was very salty and the rice and beans were already past. They also forgot my order of chips. horrible service and my complaint goes to two factors: making Uber drivers feel bad for things that are not their fault and the bad food

This location was nice, clean and quiet at 8pm. My server was cool overheard me talking about their discount program and decided to give me a discount. Its little things like this that makes me go above and beyond on the tip. He heard a customer venting to his friends just making jokes and he took upon himself to make our experience just that more greater. The food took longer then expected but everything was smoking hot and good I forgot about the wait. Wheelchair accessibility: I am in a wheelchair we just sat at a table and moved a chair. The carpet was hard to roll on but thats everywhere I go.
