We went there for dinner and ordered filete pedegral and filete San Angel. Both the steak were stale and tasted old. It tasted like previously cooked microwaved steak. The food was not worth the money. The steak sauce had too much wine and it definitely didn t taste good. I will not recommend this dish or the place. The service was good and the atmosphere was okay. But the food was absolutely a big No.

restaurant is one of the few that has both classical Mexican and Tex-Mex on the same menu and make both come out well. On the first night we started with an excellent margarita and good but not great guacamole. I had filet mignon and my wife one of the fish dishes (I think red snapper). The filet was big and cooked medium rare as ordered. The fish was co0ked just right. The sauces on both dishes were excellent, as were the side dishes. The flan we had for desert was also very good. The only problem was that the portions were too large; I could barely finish mine, and my wife left about half. On the second night we did Tex-Mex. I had a taco salad, my wife a burrito. Same comments, both were very good with goo accompaniments. My wife liked the margaritas she had a second in place of a glass of wine. Marco, our server on both nights, was friendly and knowledgeable and there whenever we needed him. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food offered. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. This is a good choice for a group to share choices given the large portions. As for parking, I believe there is a large garage right next to the restaurant.

My husband and I decided to dine here during Cinco de Mayo activities across the street and what a wonderful and blessed experience it was! When you walk in, you are greeted with a warm smile and customer service was exceptional! We were going to purchase an appetizer but low and behold, the waiter brought us complimentary tortillas, with an assortment of dips including salsa, quacamole and a spicy one. Because Queso is my favorite, my hubby asked for it and they brought us a nice helping in a bowl free of charge! I ordered beef fajitas with all the sides (Mexican rice, beans, pico de gallo etc.) and my husband ordered a seasoned shrimp and rice meal with a special sauce. We also had Peach and Strawberry frozen Margaritas which were very good. The food was absolutely delicious! We were stuffed from the tortillas and a few bites of our entree so we took our food to go. The manager and entire staff was so friendly and personable. He came over to our table and spoke to us for an extended period of time and was so nice to box all of our take home food. Im not really a drinker but they even bought us shots of Tequila on the house. I sipped a little but gave mine to my hubby. Overall, if you are looking for a an Authentic Mexican restaurant with a peaceful and vibrant environment with tasty meals, please look no further and come to Fernandos at Cityline, you will not be disappointed!

I was a fan and semi regular at this location until lately, especially today I am done with Fernando s. Sat at the bar between 5-6 on a Tuesday, no hi, no welcome, no what would you like to drink, no be right with you. Silence from the bar staff. Finally a waiter brought me chips and water. I asked if I can order a drink with him, I did. One of the bartenders asked if I d be eating at the bar, I said yes. After that .SILENT! didn t come up and ask if I want a refill, more chips, am I ready to order, questions about the menu. NOTHING. They washed glasses and made drinks literally right in front of me but just couldn t bring themselves to make contact with a customer. By then I was definitely not interested in dinner at Fernando s. I had to flag down a bartender to pay for my drink and leave to have dinner at Gloria s. I know I m only one and my business is a drop in the bucket. But although I didn t have dinner with you today, I left with a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry to bother you!! If you re a regular, they ll roll out the red carpet for you and actually have a conversation.

Ive never seen that before and my suspicion is so the lack of fajita meat isnt noticed? I visited on Valentine s Day so the place was packed yet we were seated pretty quickly. This was our first time here and the staff was very patient and willing to answer all of our questions. I enjoyed the variety of salsas. We ordered the combo fajita and Serrano fajita chicken and both meats were very dry. Thant being said, they were not necessarily bad. We eat here VERY regularly. Food is great; service is better. If I could change one thing, I would move this restaurant closer to my house. While we have our regualr waiters, all of the staff and great and friendly. Never had a bad experience. Revisited Fernandos. Really... the man tending bar has no personality. A person tending bar should be engaging and welcoming. This gentleman really ruins the whole bar experience as he clearly could care less if you are there or not. This is very sad as the food here is quite good. I will not try to sit at the bar anymore. I did end up taking my food to go. I should also add, fast food Wendys provides better to go cutlery than Fernandos. A good dining experience is so much more than the food so this visit was a disappointment.

Fernandos literally tried to steal money from me. Please make sure you take a copy of your actual receipt and then the credit card copy also. I looked at my statement and saw that they charged my card $74.50 and my bill was only $29.50 giving himself a 45.00 tip. Very nasty practice.

Lunch with co-workers after working 1/ 2 a day from a long week, is how it started. This was much needed & well deserved based on our overall experience. First of many more times in the future. The front staff from hostess to server were great. Miguel, the manager came around checking on everyone, he was very nice! The mojito was the best one I ve had outside Miami, where we vacation often. The filet with peppercorn sauce was so immaculate and tender, you could cut it with a spoon, but it still had a good chew and cooked to perfect medium rare as I asked. Up scale with black tables and chairs. Soft elegant music (not Mexican) gives an overall very nice and relaxing appeal!! Staff is super professional and accommodating - special requests are welcome. MY KIND OF PLACE!! Frozen Strawberry Margarita: Wow!! One of the best I ve ever had. Not too sweet, balanced, generous pour and exceptionally tasty!! GET ONE (or 3)!! 3 Salsas: Tomato (red): Really nice, mild tomato flavor, soft heat and great flavors. Puréed and delicious. Score 8 out of 10. Avocado (light green): Not what I expected. Soupy purée and hard to distinguish any avocado flavor. Very, very bland with no detectable flavor profile or spices. Score 0 out of 10. (Spit pea soup has more going on!) Cilantro (dark green): Hummm - actually a good surprise!! Never had anything like it - and it s good! Mild heat and very flavorful. A definite winner! Score 9 out of 10. Fajitas: Moist - not dry!! Chicken is moist and beautifully seasoned. A definite come back for item. Flavor Score 10 out of 10 portion is a 4 out of 10. (They should double the meat and charge $2 more - definitely worth it!!) Beef - Very good. Meat is moist and not greasy. One of the few places with a chili con carne brown sauce. Very delicious and a unique spin on the flavor profile - in a great way! The food was pretty good. Tortilla soup was below average...below El Fenix. I had red snapper, and my wife had enchilladas. The snapper came with a creamy tequilla lime sauce. Mostly cream...no lime flavor and if they put tequilla in, you would not know it from the taste. Drinks were ok... although they dont have a drink menu. The food and drink presentation was nice. Service top notch. All-in-all a nice quiet place to dine. You could actually talk in normal tones at the table and be heard. Price to value...kind of over the top. If I was really looking to dine at a Ruth Chris Mexican Rest., I would go for Javiers down 75 a bit. The Tilapia I get at most places in Garland, Plano, Richardson for $12....was $23 at Fernandos. The food was good but just ok! I guess weve been spoiled with having really great Mexican food in other places in Texas! But compared to how nice the service was and the way the restaurant looks ( which is very clean and nice, I think one would expect the food to be even better than it was. But the device was excellent snd the ambience of the restaurant was also very nice, it was not too loud and is more elegant than most Mexican food restaurants. Overall it was a good experience and if we are ever in the area again, we would definitely return. Kid-friendliness: There were children there when we are and it appeared that they were enjoying themselves with their parents . So I would say yes. It is kid friendly for well behaved children.

A vibrant Mexican diner with dynamic crowd at dinner time . Has a nice bar area . The food is traditional , but not top notch dining . Tried the taco brisket which was good but not spectacular. Price is ok not expensive. Food

I dont know. I got the #4 lunch burritos special for $13. That was actually two soft tacos though. I remember growing up...my mom and her Apache friends would call a burrito whatever they put in a corn or flour tortilla, but the ends were always tucked for burritos and left open for tacos. Maybe its kind of like that? Food was a bit bland to me. But! The service was TOP NOTCH. That gentleman was great. The food preparation was really fast too. I bet 3 of us were in and out in about 10 minutes. Ill try something different next time.

Went for fathers day lunch. Had the beef tacos. I did not finish them. Service is wonderful, atmosphere is great, and food is adequate. Would I go back? No. Fernandos is expensive for what you get. Almost flavorless food presented in a semi upscale way. If I go back Im getting guacamole, chips, nachos and margaritas. It will cost 3 times what it should but it will be in semi style. Service is excellent. Dog friendly. Patio is nice.

This is the best Mexican food Ive ever tasted. And Ive tasted a lot. They have three sauces for their chips. They are all, as awesome as the food. Basic margarita out of a machine, really tasty, but two expensive for House Margarita $$$. Check out my other reviews I dont write awesome ones. DYNAMIC DANNY APPROVED

We ate at Fernando s in Richardson for the first time last night and it was fantastic! The best fajitas at any restaurant I ve ever tried, the service was fantastic as well! Our waitress was exceptional and would talk and cut up with us as well as take great care of us. This place was great! Price was great as well! We definitely will be going back!

The two shrimp dishes are both INCREDIBLE. Food is fresh and healthy. Service can be a little slow but theyre always friendly and considerate of kids. BEST spot for high quality margaritas on the patio.
