The first time I ve settled in Amigos. I was the first one in as they opened. I had a splendid time talking to the waitresses. Food wise, as I sat down the bowl of chips and salsa were great and addicting. I also asked my waitress if I should try the shrimp or fish fajita and she chose shrimp and when I tried my first taco, I wasn t elated with it. All I can say is it wasn t flavorful. With beef fajita as my partner received, he enjoyed his plate! The sopilla was delicious especially with the ice cream!

I m disappointed. I got the Richardson Enchilada plate and everything had an unpleasant smoke taste that reminded me of a burnt smell. The sour cream sauce was not a sauce at all, instead it was a scoop of strait sour cream, thick, and weird. The rice had to many kernels of corn, green bean snips and carrots, obviously out of a can. The price was outrageous $17.99! $9 for a generic frozen margarita? WTHELL. The entire menu was way overpriced and with my unappetizing enchiladas described above, I won t return.

WAS, Exceptional Dining Experience at Amigos Aca Y Alla!, as in used to be. Now; however, the best I can say is it is very inconsistent. Since previously raving about the food and service here, we have returned twice, only to be sorely disappointed both times. The queso, which stood out with its rich, creamy texture from white cheese, was clearly a notch above the generic, canned versions you find elsewhere. Now we find that the original fantastic concoction we found on our first visit has turned into bland, chunky, not completely melted, and even cool versus hot or at least warm queso dip. The Richardson Enchiladas which we also raved about from our first visit also fail, not being heated enough to melt the cheese in the cheese enchilada and the cold chicken enchilada was scary to consume. We ll be scratching this place off our list of decent Mexican food restaurants to give any regular business. I can only comment for knowledge gathered from three visits, but all appearances are that this is a regular s day drinking spot instead of what we hoped would be a regular spot for Mexican food.

Very cute little place. It has a small but nice patio. Their micheladas were great. We also had their shrimp cocktail which was a out average. Their elote was very good. It was not on the cob, which I like. I should have asked for hot sauce but it was good without it. I had beef fajitas tacos on corn tortillas and they were exactly what I expected in an authentic Mexican restaurant. The tres leches was also very good. Need to go back and try their ceviche. Our server was very pleasant and the service was fast.

We were intrigued by Facebook posts about their Saturday Tejano Night. We drove about 30 mins to Richardson, only to get there and see that no one was dancing. The DJ must have been in the rest room for the whole hour and a half we were there, cause he had the music on autoplay. There was a $30 consumption minimum (which they continously reiterated) to sit in the music section. The food was typical bland unseasoned tex-mex, the service was there (thats about the only positive thing I can say about our server was that he showed up for work that day). Definitely a first and a last time.

I will return for margaritas on the patio, but I wont order food. Really nice staff, but when I didnt care for the spinach enchiladas (sauteed spinach and onion slices wrapped in a corn tortilla). There was no offer to replace, but offered to box it up for me. So I bought two entrees, neither of which I can recommend. My next choice, spinach tamales had no spinach at all! Bottom line, Vegetarian Tex-Mex offerings are better from their cousins place, Dos Arroyos. The salsa, the vegie enchiladas, vegie tamales, and chili relleno are all favorites there in Canyon Creek area of Richardson.

We stopped in for drinks and appetizers. We Wanted to hear the live music. Staff was friendly, the service courteous, and the band was great! The lead had a great voice and was a lot of fun. I felt the cover was a bit stiff, if you wanted a table by the band, but if we had been coming to eat dinner, it would have been worth it. We just sat at the bar and had a great view. Update: I dont know how they did it, but it got worse. I do Grant them one thing the presentation of the food is pretty much spot on. But thats the only thing thats good about the food. The guacamole, tasted like just plain avocado almost no flavor no texture. Devoid of any flavor of onion, cilantro, salt, pepper, pretty much everything that goes in guacamole, didnt even have hardly any onion to it. And its so easy to make smushing avocado throwing some pico and voila you got amazing guacamole. The Spanish rice or Mexican rice whatever you want to call it was almost a dry powdery flavor consistency, almost no moisture to it, you could tell it was cooked but it just had this powder taste to it that it left on the tongue. Beans bland is all get out, they taste like generic beans you would get at the grocery store that just say refried beans and then has a white label thats it. I had the Tex-Mex platter and it was atrocious, its hard to get worse but these people managed to do it. My wife had the chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce, the chicken looked like potted meat to me, the texture was mush, they tasted like chicken but no real flavor other than just a little chicken flavor. My wife liked the sour cream sauce, because it was fluffy but I swear it tasted like something you would get out of the grocery store thats packaged and you throw it in the oven for 30 minutes and then serve it to your family. I have made better Mexican food at home in my kitchen and Im not even Latino lol. And I have made these same dishes with way more flavor, with way more pleasurable consistency as it goes across the tongue and while you chew it it releases flavor. This stuff is horrible. And I hate being so dang critical, but the truth is the truth. The service was not great but it wasnt good. I think our waiter was working two stations which thats not his fault, thats managers problem but the atmosphere on top of that was way too dark and I was not the only one trying to find light to read the menu. People at other tables were struggling to read their menus and doing the same dance in their chair trying to get enough light to see. One girl was even using her phone flashlight lol. I dont know whats going on with this place but my God please fix it before you go out of business, or is that the plan?

We were interested to try a new place for dinner that we d hadn t visited before, and we were not disappointed. From the minute we walked in, we felt welcome and knew we d have a great experience. The food was outstanding as was the incredible service we received from Fernando! We sampled several things and would recommended them all (really velvety white queso, outstanding guacamole, amazing mixed meats platter and enchiladas, homemade tortillas). The margs were also terrific. The menu is huge, and we look forward to coming back and trying more and hanging out with our new friend Fernando. This is a hidden place in Richardson. I have been here multiple of times and every time better than the next. I had the pleasure of getting multiple waitress/waiters to attend to me and I have not had any issues. I remember Carmin , noemi and some tall guys, Ashley , their service was amazing. I love their bristec enchiladas and they never fail to amaze me! It did get busy one time I went on a Friday, but that is normal everywhere. The owner and the manager are very attentive and it is something you dont usually see. I will never stop going here!!!! Please be friendly to your wait staff and remember to eat well my friends.

I went there a few months ago for the first time and I didn t have the best experience with our waiter, decided to give it a second shot and I went again this weekend and our waiter Fernando was amazing!! He was very helpful suggesting their best dishes, he was constantly checking on us making sure we had a great time, food was delicious and the atmosphere was really fun! Great music and amazing service from Fernando! Definitely will be coming back and ask for him.

I used to like this place... Went out with my family on Friday, August 11 and experienced a waitress named Nohemi who clearly couldnt cut it and very poor management. Service was extremely slow and there was no sense of urgency for the paying customers. -Firstly, once we ordered water for the table, she seemed annoyed and walked off. Water for 6 took 10 minutes. -Then a margarita and appetizer were ordered. She forgot to put in the Margarita completely. -Appetizer of tostadas took over 30 minutes and the manager had to put in the margarita himself and bring it to the table. -Our table for 6 had 3 settings of silverware and we had to ask more than once for more and for napkins. -Food literally took another hour to come behind the appetizer. By then she was confused about who ordered what. -There was one refill of water given by the Manager once he was notified of bad service 25 minutes into it, and this was still before the appetizer came out. There were no more refills after that. -The food was decent to be honest, but it took so long I think I was just starving at that point. -The check came almost 20 minutes AFTER she brought to go boxes. Then she was gone again. Finally someone had to get up to pay it. Manager took no responsibility!! There were children jumping off the stage in the back of the restaurant. I will NOT be back. This was NOT a case of poor training, this was clearly POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE from the manager down to the server.

Tex-Mex restaurant especially to go for lunch or dinner. The food is good and so is the service. I have gone especially for dinner and to listen to the local band: Johana and the Mixed vibe band , it is without a doubt the best they offer. Something I cant help but mention is that when I received the bill, the restaurant applied a 20% tip without asking me. Use to go to Amigos regularly, liked the food, loved the people, but it has changed, and the staff are gone. Place looks nice, but the food was bad. Even the chips were flat, not crispy. Had cheese enchiladas, worst Ive ever had. Tasted like cheese sticks rolled up in store bought tortillas and melted in a microwave. The prices were way too much for the poor quality food. The place was not busy, and for good reason. Do not intend on going back. Do not recommend this place.

I came here for lunch with my family after some friends recommend this place. The food was great such wonderful flavor, the margaritas are the best and for the price I couldnt get enough. Our waiter was the best, he was so friendly and nice and kept checking up on us to make sure everything was fine. The atmosphere as well is nice and kid friendly and they have live music on weekends. Dont let the negative reviews discourage you from trying this place out. Its a hole in the wall that you must try. Will be back for sure.

I have been going to Amigos for years, but tonight, the place was empty and I know way. Prices have increased dramatically, there was one waitress in the restaurant, so service was slow. My wife went to the bar to refill our glasses of water. A 3 x3 piece of Mexican lasagna was $15. We wanted our dinner to be a special occasion, it wasn t. Plenty of Mexican restaurants in this town to choose from.

Used to love this place. It was our regular place to go. Love that they opened the big bar but the food cost went up and the quality went down. Matter f fact we miss it! They have a new bartender that knows nothing about customer service ,ordered fajitas any got 6 pieces of meat and rest was undercooked onions . Hope they pay attention and correct it so we may come back some day!

Today we celebrated a birthday in this restaurant and the truth was that it was spectacular, the food was delicious and at a good price, a young woman named Noemí served us and the truth is that I loved her treatment, kind, respectful, dynamic and above all super fast to serve. Very disappointed with our service last night. We waited 1hr and 20 min before our food was brought out. I finally asked the server if I could just pay for my tea and water, she then went back to see what could be done about speeding up the order. When the food came out, the shrimp was not fully cooked, no favor at all(literally no spices at all) and my molé sauce was cold. I use to come here for years during lunch and hosted our work events there in the past, however things have definitely changed... I wasnt too concerned about the 3$ price increase however the food was definitely not worth it..

Our family have been going to Amigos since 2008 and always great food and service. Today was disappointing as prices have gone up and service was horrible:( The waiter even rolled his eyes when taking our order. What I previously paid $10 for is now $16.50. Because of the price increase and service, doubtful I will return. I can t justify after leaving tip.. $30 for lunch.
