Really good food and really good service. I had the 3 meat plate brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage (really good!!) and turkey (really juicy and tender). Sides were all really good. So many to choose from. Lots of not your average sides too. They have the classics too. I got a full rack of ribs to go for freezing and lunches on the quick. The ribs are good too. Sauces are both good. Spicy actually spicy!! Google maps them as it s a shame there sign is kinda hidden. It s not a shady looking gas station either, it s behind it. Don t worry lots of parking!! They sell some beer and the root beer is really good in a bottle. St Andrew s I believe it was. Anyway I ll be back soon. They are in a 50 too bbq places for a reason. It s not the best I ve ever had it s just different. There is not a best IMO. They re all just a bit different. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free buns for all there sandwiches. It s one style bun, so if you get a gluten free Rueben, it will be on a bun. Still really good gluten free buns.

We had some brisket, ribs, and jalapeño cheddar sausage, with just meats by the pound. Their ribs were on the dry side, but their brisket and sausage were on point! But above all, we became insant fan of their bbq sauce! Amazing and we will be returning

Food quality and taste changed 180 for the worst! New pitmaster is another story but probably the root of all changes. Dont say anything about food being too salty or old meat being served. Brown/dark brisket saturated in salt. Rib quality changed to bad meat taste and too much sweet. Old recipe is what made Brothertons Top 50. Go elsewhere, youll be disappointed if you dont.

I love their chicken fried steak! I make a special trip if I see this, or the Southern Belle for brunch (CFS, eggs, biscuits, and hash browns), on the menu! My favorite sides are the tater tot casserole, asian cucumber salad, and green beans. I also like their brisket sandwich, banh mi, and smash burgers.

We saw they were having a chicken fried steak on special so we had to stop in. We got that with mac n cheese and it also had mashed potatoes. We also got the reuben, which is our favorite of their sandwiches. The pastrami on the reuben was soo good! The cfs came out really hot and the cream gravy was seasoned well and delicious. Another great visit to brothertons...I hope they do their taco bell popup again soon though.

This is some top level barbecue. Its nice to have this place right in Pflugerville. I eat a lot of brisket and theirs is right up there with the best of them. Great sides as well. The Asian cucumber salad is phenomenal. I also enjoyed the potato salad and the tater tot casserole. I highly recommend this place. Update: I have to do an update because I went yesterday and it was not good. I got the loaded baked potato with Brisket. They say brisket but it was some soft mush. Almost like out of a can. When I asked how that is brisket they just said its sauced. Would not give me real brisket. I will attach a picture. Could not have been more disappointed. They did not care at all. Spoke with two different people. Please look at that slop on the potato.

This place is located an a nondescript area that looks like you might have made a wrong turn for a top 50 joint. Don t let that fool you. I went on a bbq tour and have been to 5 places in 2 days. This by far was the overall best bbq restaurant. By far the best ribs, chicken, and turkey. The brisket was great too. The service was great and I really can t state how underrated this place is. We ve been to Interstellar, Leroy and Lewis, Terry Blacks, and Louie Mueller and every place did one thing great but not collectively excellent like this place. Brothertons is my favorite place and I really hope they get the accolades they deserve. The only thing that let me down here was the shirt selection since they didn t have anything in my size.

LARGE RESTAURANT - nestled in a strip mall, the restaurant has two dining areas and plentiful tables. I came in between lunch & dinner, so not many customers, but I m so glad to have found this spot. TENDER BRISKET - I think TX BBQ is judged by how they cook & serve the brisket. I ordered a double portion of brisket, and it definitely impressed me! Large strips, smoky flavor, and subtle seasoning. ALL ABOUT THE SIDES - wasabi coleslaw & tater tot casserole. Those two sides, in itself, is enough reason for me to come back here.

The portion sizes are good, but a bit on the expensive side. I had the brisket sandwich and side of beans. Both lacked much flavor. I didnt taste any smoke on the brisket. They seem to compensate for this with over seasoning the outside of the brisket. The staff was great and the atmosphere good.

I wanted a good brisket sandwich and found out this place served Banh Mi. As an Asian Im terrified of a random American SmokeHouses take on Vietnamese Cuisine. My apprehension quickly resolved. The Banh Mi had striking balances of both American Smoke and Vietnamese flavors. Meats and sides were beyond delicious. My only compliant was not seeing a fatty cut of brisket? Unsure if this normal or just wasnt available at the time. If I taste a fatty cut this review will be revised to a 5/5.

Ordered family meal of 6 here with brisket, turkey, and boudin along with sides: tater tot casserole, green chile Mac and cheese, and potato salad... it was the last of it (sides/meats)and it was okay. I personally have had much better bbq because I dont like much fat in my brisket (or any meats). Boudin was good. Paid around ~$130. Glad I got to enjoy with family but was far from my best bbq experience. The workers were extremely helpful and nice though, great atmosphere.

Ive been getting occasional lunch here for several years, it WAS great. In December I brought out of town family and it was not quite as good and Id been hyping it. Today it was even more mediocre. The flavor just isnt there anymore. My brisket was just a chunk instead of slices. The jerk thighs had barely any rub. The ribs have more sauce than youd expect in Texas and they needed it. After this disappointment I learned the original owner brought in partners in in December and died in January. Its the new owners that are not up to the task. The parking lot used to always be full at lunch, today it was barely half full. Id call that a fluke, but there were fewer employees inside as well, so it has to be a trend and Im not crazy about the quality decline. If the new owners read this, pull back any changes you made, figure the pit out, otherwise youre going to go out of business.

We tried the three meat plate - price is very reasonable but quality is so so. The brisket is dry - unlike some of the review pictures you have seen. The Bouldin sausage is interesting but not to my taste. Pork rib is actually the best. The spicey bbq sauce is good. So overall, with the price, it is okay but I wont return. Dont recommend the mac & cheese, nothing special about it.

This place has been on my list for some time since I learned about it in the middle of last year, and its something you have to look for, especially driving on pecan street. Definitely got excited before coming to this place yesterday around lunch as there was a good number of customers around. The service was amazing as the cashier was friendly and didnt make me feel rushed to order my food and offered a few of their favorites, I ended up getting the three meat plate with brisket, pulled pork with ribs with my side of the collar greens as well the parmesan green beans, then an order of the turkey as well brisket boudin. Now, the food I was mixed about as the looks had me excited, so I tried the collar greens first just to spit them out because they were too sour, and all I could taste was vinegar as I Instantly knew they werent cooked long enough or maybe not washed fully, the green beans were good. Different from what most places are offering, but on to the brisket boudin sausage as I never tried them, as the texture and flavor was decent, I only had a few more bites with the sauce and without the sauce to get a full experience of each meat. The turkey was good and tender with a little amount of seasoning but still tasting juicy. The brisket was okay as it was tender but no real smokey flavor. The more I ate as I lost interest in them, the pulled pork didnt have anything different with or without sauce, but after two bites its just pulled pork. The ribs were good with a little smokey flavor as well tender, but the sauce isnt my favorite personal since they probably have a Vinegar based as I didnt think the sauce enhanced any of the flavor off these meats and without could help it. But for the convenience of this place, if youre getting gas or across dollar general, Id stop in to try something else on their menu next time.

Overall this was pretty good bbq, not sure its top 50 worthy. Lean brisket was tender and pretty moist. The boudin could have used a little kick or something to add flavor. Definitely had some sanitary concerns. A lot of restaurant supplies laying around and loose bread slices in a Rubbermaid storage tub.

TLDR - Add a note to delivery orders to pack BBQ sauce and bread and do not be surprised if it still does not make it into the bag. The BBQ and the sides are absolutely extraordinary, but your wallet is gonna feel it. The place has gotten very pricey. The staff is pretty rude. We ordered a $280 delivery (incl tip) and it came with no BBQ sauce or bread. When we called they blamed the delivery guy for not packing it and said they told him to, so it was not their fault since sauce is self-service. We ordered directly from the Brothertons site, not Uber Eats. There is no option to check that will tell the driver to pack the sauce and the bread, and honestly expecting a driver to do that is just ridiculous. The first person we talked to was infuriating. They kept saying the same thing over and over like I was not getting it. I was getting it perfectly...they were not getting it. I placed a large order and they could not even take an extra minute to make sure we had the basics like sauce and bread. They actually hung up on us as if we were doing something wrong by complaining. When we called back we got a manager who was much more pleasant to talk to, but even she could not understand at first why telling a random delivery driver to finish packing our order on the way out the door was not a good process. At least she was not as infuriating as the first person we talked to because by the end of the call it seemed like she understood they needed to do better so they get 2 stars for service instead of one. Bottom line is the BBQ at Brothertons is amazing and the sides are over the top awesome, but they really need to work on customer service because experiences like this just ruin it. A $280 dollar delivery order should never go out the door without sauce and bread. It really felt like we got only got half the order...I did not want to ruin the meat with some stale store bought BBQ sauce from the fridge so we ate it dry. Its still good, but not the same experience at all.

The mac and cheese was below average, and cornbread casserole was pretty good. The mild sausage was flavorful and juicy. Overall, the food was a good 7.8/10, but I am deducting a little since the 1 meat plate seemed relatively pricey for the portion size that we got.

Brisket (7/10): Phenomenal bark. It was tough and chewy but in a good way. Made masticating the brisket an enjoyable experience by contrasting with the tender interior. Would ve liked a little more salt though. It also felt a touch too dry. Side (10/10): The corn casserole was a delight. It reminded me of what I usually get at stiles switch, but I felt something else going on. I think there were finely chopped bell peppers that added an interesting dimension to the flavor profile. Gave me something to think about by not being your classic good ole casserole. Onions (6/10): The onions were pretty awful. Too many of the slices were too thin, they didn t have any juice Decor & vibe (10/10): I respect the homage to the great bbq establishments of Texas like kreuz market and snow s. It also felt like the spot was operated by a tight group of friends that all knew each other really well. @eddythefoodcritic

$27 for 2 sandwiches and 2 sodas? Its not even close to being that good. Hamburger patty was tasteless and looked frozen/packaged. Brisket was decent, but no where near crazy good. Served on a ciabatta bun. The sliced brisket itself is often extremely good - moist and thick slabs. Sodas were flat. Interior is standard industrial rustic BBQ. . Final opinion? It took him about seven minutes to cut and he played with it for a while and this strange ockwardness came over the staff as we waited for him to cut it then the owener says , thirtynine the sign on the wall says 12 dollars per half pound. They charged lots more than the sign. The guy cutting the meat kept looking at me out of the corner of his eye before he said $39. Maybe this is the new cost of bbq to come and Rudys has not caught up yet or maybe Brothertons uses a more expensive beef. I was kind of surprised at the price. I ordered the Ruben sandwich also and it was not as good as Daytripper says it was but it did have that good brisket in it. But yes, this guy is gifted when it comes to bbq and he wants to share his dream. You probably wont see me there. Kind of a mixed bag. Lol

I had the brisket, pork ribs, Asian cucumber salad, and garlic parmesan green beans. The sides were a nice change from the usual BBQ fare. The brisket was tender and lean, but I would have preferred more smoke flavor. The pork ribs had a sweet sauce added. I prefer no sauce or sauce on the side.

People rave about this place in Pflugerville. Last time I came by they closed early because they sold out. Must be good right? Well, dont get your hopes up. The people are friendly. They let you sample the sides which is a huge plus. 2 meat plate was $22. 3 meat plate is $30.

Got the brisket grilled cheese, I really enjoyed it. Definitely want to go back and try some of the meat by the pound. Edit* - on an additional note, the service here is as friendly as anything you can imagine! I ordered burgers to go, my coworker wanted mayo on the side, which I asked about. She told me she d be right back with that, but after a minute or two of waiting I started second guessing if she was saying that to me or not. After some hesitation, I finally left because I thought maybe I had misunderstood. As I get to my car she came out and knocked on my window as she hurried out to follow me to make sure she got me the mayo! She literally has to scoop some into a little container for me, I was so impressed!!

We ordered the brisket nachos and pulled pork grilled cheese, both were good. The sopapilla cheesecake was decent. However, the sides, mac & cheese and potato salad were awful. Mac & cheese was flavorless and I had to spit out the weird flavor and textured potato salad. The restaurant set up is odd and disorganized/messy. We did go towards the end of the day, but the staff seemed just as chaotic and confused as the building is. The cost being so high kind of settled the rating at a 2. If I could afford to go back, I d only get meat/entree and I d take it to go.

A well deserved title of being in Texas Monthlys Top 50 BBQ joints. Friendly staff while ordering. Anytime I venture to a new BBQ place I opt for the brisket and sausage. Brisket had a real nice bark. Seasoning was on point. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was possibly the best one Ive had. The clumps of cheddar was unique as other places use smaller crumb-sized pieces. My buddy had the brisket and pork ribs. He loved the ribs so much that he ordered another set as we left for dinner that evening. A good choice of sides and a few you typically dont see at other BBQ establishments. The Mac and cheese caught my eye and also had a nice kick to it. Pricing was about market average right now.

I found out about this place yesterday and immediately wanted to try. Central Texas has a lot of great barbecue but Im not too sure this place fits into the great category. I ordered brisket, Mac and cheese, potato salad and greens. The brisket was a few hours away from turning into beef jerky. The potato salad was lacking flavor besides the pungent mustard seed taste. The Mac and cheese noodles were perfectly cooked but the cheese portion was more like a queso but not a flavorful queso. And last, the greens. Finally, porkless greens! I had high hopes for their greens but after my first bite, the sour vinegar flavor was overwhelming and completely turned me off. The one perfectly delicious item I tasted was the barbecue sauce. It was the perfect amount of twang and black pepper.

Today was my first time ordering from here and I am very disappointed. I ordered a 3 meat plate with sliced brisket, mild sausage, and jerk chicken thighs along with two sides as well as a loaded grill cheese all for $47.54 plus tip. Well no problem far as price but listen when I opened my 3 meat platter I was blown away by the lack of food. I literally had a 3 small sliced pieces of brisket smaller than a Vienna sausage which two were fat filled and not edible, 1 small piece of jerk chicken thigh, and a sausage link. I knew something was wrong just by when I removed the plate from the bag and felt how light it was. For $30 per 3 meat plate I expected so much more. I seriously doubt I will ever re-visit here and I advise you not to waste your time and money.

As far as Texas BBQ goes, I d say this is just alright. The brisket was dry and not enough fat cooked off. The sausage was good and they had good sauce, but I d you have to put sauce on it, that s a red flag The mac and cheese tasted like butter, not cheese. The green beans were good. The worst was the employees were really uninterested in even talking to customers. I couldn t hear them, they talked loudly to each other, and the cashier just pointed at the amount due instead of talking to us. It also seemed unclean inside (lots of flies). Pricey for a lack of service and so-so BBQ.

A two meat plate cost $22 dollars which inherently isn t a problem.. what is a problem is that they are charging this for subpar food. When we ordered, I heard the woman behind the counter verbalize that she didn t like the look of the brisket, but she served it to my girlfriend anyway, then took the rest and chopped it up for someone s nachos. My brisket was much darker in color and was tender, unlike my girlfriend s whose was dry and pale. To top it off, the collard greens tasted like they came out of a can and the green chili mac was dry and flavorless - like they cooked some pasta, melted some cheese, then threw in canned green chili. The potato salad was okay, but still not great. Mustard based if you re curious. Lastly, there was a big ole curly beard hair in my mac and I know it s not mine because there s not a single hair on my body that long or curly. Overall, it seems this place used to be popular, but has fallen off. Disappointing to say the least.
