Good food, but its kinda stressful getting in the door and ordering. Lots of people! It was fun because after eating there, I went to fourteen eighteen and the owner of Lockhart came in a little later and noticed me. He remembered and asked how the food was! They are very friendly and it is a very fun place!

Definitely some of the best barbecue in the area. I had the brisket, sausage, and brisket potato salad. Also tried the deviled eggs. Everything tasted amazing. They were a little shorthanded tonight, so bar service was a little slow, even though it wasnt crowded. But we still had a great business get together. The food is wrapped in and served on butcher paper, plasticware, and brown paper towels on the tables. Its about as downhome BBQ as you can get. Im fairly local, but I recommend this to all of my out of town customers and friends. Parking: Street parking is very limited but there is a free parking lot around the corner.

Great people/service, great atmosphere, but ribs are just too fatty. We ordered 2lbs of ribs that barely had 1/4lb of meat. Sad. With all the BBQ spots in DFW, youd think Lockharts would try harder to be more competitive.

We visited Lockhart in the past but they were sold out so we left. This time, we arrived when they opened at 11 on a Saturday to ensure they wouldn t be sold out. We ordered brisket, original sausage, and pork spare ribs to go. Our friendly server offered us BBQ sauce and white bread as well, no extra charge. The restaurant is decorated with all things Texas and BBQ. The aroma of smoked meat met us at the door and we were instantly hungry. The brisket was so good no BBQ sauce was needed and the ribs were fall-of-the-bone cooked to perfection. We did not buy any sides but some looked so good; e.g., the blue cheese slaw. We highly recommend Lockhart for authentic Texas BBQ just be sure to arrive early. We visited this time because Lockhart Smokehouse was a sponsor of the Hendrick Scholarship Taste of Plano 2024. We really like to patronize businesses that give back to the community which Lockhart does.

Lockhart BBQ stands in its own with out the need for sauce. I strongly urge you to try it by itself before adding. The smoky flavor is wonderful. I tried the brisket because thats my thing. Great! I would have liked my a bit more wet, but I also didnt ask when I ordered. The spicy Mac and cheese was great just a touch of heat, good thick sauce. I got the brisket deviled eggs but was horribly impressed. Somehow missed the deviled egg taste. The place is small so if you are planning to eat in, plan well. I didnt sit at the bar, but it looks well stocked and I imagine a fun place to hang out. Ive been there twice now. Quality seems consistent. If you are just grabbing to go, they suggested going behind the building and there are places back there. I didnt look, but Ill try that next time. Parking: For take out, pull up in back.

OMG! I always order brisket at BBQ places. But, I saw their menu & for some reason the chicken appealed to me. OMG! WOW! And the 3-piece chicken included 2 generous thighs & a leg. We brought home 1 1/2 thighs to add to green salad for dinner. I will always order the chicken now! My husband tried the prime burnt ends which he loved. We also took home a bacon-wrapped jalapeño popper. Cole slaw was delicious & the spicy Mac & cheese is a new favorite of mine. We are planning on order to-go anytime I am near Plano. It is that good! Free parking downtown makes it easy to drop by for an instant to-go order.

I was not a fan of the food. We drove to Texas just to try their beef ribs. We had 2 beef ribs and a regular sausage , quarter lb of brisket and a sausage jalapeño and 2 drinks ... it was $119.00 very expensive and we took 2 bites of everything and thew it in the trash. The smoke taste was so thick it way , way way over powered the meat. It tastes like drinking liquid smoke. Such a shame it got great reviews.

THIS is Texas bbq!! The perfect meal after a long day of driving. There is free parking all around the area which I appreciated. We found a close spot in the parking garage on the back side of the restaurant. It s counter service and bbq wrapped in butcher paper with a large selection of yummy sides. The brisket would melt in your mouth and the chicken was just as good! The baked beans had an extra kick (not spicy) to them that I have not experienced and couldn t put my finger on but so good! The cocktails were in jelly jars but strong and tasty! A great value for an enormous amount of food!

Food, pork ribs ($24/lb) & brisket ($28/lb) were typical Texas BBQ with a very lite smoked taste. Our serving of ribs had a little too much fat on them. I have heard that burnt-ends-Thursdsay is a good experience. Parking: Diagonal street parking has high curbs that could damage a majority of cars front overhang, so be careful if parking in this location.

Was here for birthday, party of 10. The space is cool especially the upstairs where it feels like you have in essence a semi private area. The food and service however could be better. The chicken was rubber... Not rubbery but cold and literally unchewable rubber. The brisket was good but there was definitely more fat than actual meat. The turkey was the only thing that was no complaints. We definitely felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff more than anything. Had to actually ask them for help as were attempting to and very clearly struggling to bring food and drinks upstairs for 10 people who were mostly elderly.

The other side options didnt look all that good either. Their sides should be as good as their meats. Also, a counter-serve restaurant that doesnt give you trays is crazy. You need to go from the counter to your table, juggling items in your hand. Makes no sense, and theres an insane amount of paper wasted, and theres no need.

Update: In response to the owners reply regarding my recent experience, I want to clarify that I explicitly declined a refund period. The reimbursement for the peach cobbler falls short for compensating for the overall disappointing experience, especially considering the nearly $70 expenditure. My decision to share my feedback publicly is not about class; its about providing an honest assessment for others. What lacks class is the owners response to criticism, rather than embracing it constructively to improve the business. I find it appalling. The take out experience was unsatisfactory. The beef brisket had too much fat attached to the slices. The sides were bland, unseasoned and the peach cobbler was terrible, prepared without the proper ingredients. The manager on duty definitely offered great service. The individual sides were sufficient for one person. Parking: Parking in this particular area of downtown Plano is rather compact. However, there is authorized parking on the opposite side of the building.

Best BBQ Plano brisket is fantastic! Sausage is great as well. Mac and cheese is tasty but beans are a miss.

I had high hopes coming into this place for lunch. Treated my friend to lunch who came into town; wanted to give him the TX BBQ experience. I should have taken him to Dickies. Yeah, I said that. Ill rate each item. Sausage- 5/5, Lean Brisket- 3/5, BBQ sauce- 2/5, Coleslaw (original)- 1/5, Peach Cobbler- 2/5, Bottled water- 5/5. As you can see, I highly recommend the sausage and bottle water. Overall a solid 3/5. My buddy confirmed it was average at best.

Brisket was salty too salty on top but no flavor deep inside. Might of just been the cut I got. The biggest disappointment was the chicken. Extremely dry and woody I m not sure if it was from the night before but I can tell it had lost all its natural juices. Ended up throwing it all away unfortunately. Service was great . Nice folks but they need some quality control.

This place is off the chain!! Can I get and AMEN from anyone who has eaten here? FOOD: i had the brisket (with fat) it was so flavorful and moist. The bark was perfect. Also had the jalapeno popper. There are no words. It was delicious. Also had the potato salad which had so much flavor. Im not usually a potato salad fan so I was very pleasantly surprised. The other person dining with me had the street corn. It wasnt just corn, it was corn with meat, some sauce and other things. It could have been a meal all its own. ATMOSPHERE; small place with a saloon like vibe mixed with a family bbq joint friendliness. SERVICE: Madelyn worked her fanny off taking care of the tables, the bar and the food order counter. She did it with a smile and a very kind attitude. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes, a thousand times yes.

Texas BBQ at its finest !! I had to try a little bit of everything, I had the beef ribs, the Whiskey cooked Turkey, and the amazing brisket ! All these were amazing but My favorite was the Turkey because it s not any other Turkey I had at other spots. I tried some of their sides Mac n cheese, Banana Pudding, and their potato salad ! My favorite was the banana pudding! Wow I wish I ordered more of it ! They also had an open bar with tons of options on draft. Other than the food the cashier was helpful and restaurant was clean and tons of places to sit! Follow @cerogrubs on tiktok , Instagram, YouTube for the most delicious eats !

Good food all around, and I liked the place. Not a huge amount of seating, but I liked that they had a bar. Need more sauces though. The sauce was good, but it does mean if youre not on the mood for that one, might need to go somewhere else. Spicy Mac and cheese was awesome.

I thought I added a review about the Lockhart Smokehouse already but google is asking for more. I was in town to visit my daughter and her husband. They recommended Lockhart s. Situated on a very cool, trendy street with lots of other restaurants. I was impressed with the simplicity and the flavorful barbecued chicken. The dining room was interesting with lots of nostalgia making feel more authentic. I along with my children highly recommend this stop along your journey. If I lived in town I would be there often.
