Im visiting Houston with some friends and they took me out for Dinner here. The service is fantastic and the food is amazing. We ordered quite a spread, among my favorites were the grilled veggies and the mackerel. The staff is amazing and attentative and I absolutely would recommend if you are seeking a casual environment with good drinks and yakitori.

This place is awesome. The food is excellent. The mackerel yakitori is particularly delicious and I order it every time. Sometimes it is nice to sit and order a few pieces of yakitori and have a drink and then order a little more. It is a place to relax and take it easy for a while.

As we walked in, no one greeted us. A gentleman behind the front desk yelled sit anywhere while we sat at a booth. There was one napkin setting and two chopsticks at the table. We were a party of 4. He brought menus & said are you ready to order. I said well, Ill need to look at the menu, its our 1st time & he walked off. He came back & I asked did he have a spicy chicken Ramen bowl & he replied what I said Im asking if theres a chicken option, I see lots of pork. He was so bothered I was asking a question. This guy is so unpersonable, bland, & unfriendly. Now that Im writing my review i see at least 4 others say the same about the waiter & how hes bothered & (huff & puffs) when you ask questions as if were annoying him. Anyway i told him nevermind & were still looking. We eventually ordered. We got our food & I asked if the other 3 of us could have a setting or chopsticks, napkins, & maybe silverware. He said how many I said theres only one set up. Again this Asian of decent gentlemen was so bothered. (I noticed my receipt says Joe, so maybe thats his name?? He never introduced himself) I wouldnt say the noodles were anything special just as others say in their review. It had no flavor. I had to ask for saracha sauce & hot oil (again he was bothered) the noodle bowl I got seamed half empty!! As i set my bowl sort of at the end of the table the same guy was yelling from the front booth Are you done Are you done I ignored him as I felt it unpleasant to be yelled at from across the restaurant instead of approaching our table throughout our meal asking if everything was ok, or if we needed refills, etc!! (There were only 3 other tables of guests) Also I asked for no onions in my bowl, replace w/tomatoes & was charged $1. Very unfriendly & rude experience. I wont be back here.Go to a better spot. Save your money.

Fams first time and we enjoyed our meals and service. Evelyn was very kind, attentive, and would answer questions we had. The pork belly on a stick, chicken thigh on a stick, asparagus, and fried oysters were so flavorful and scrumptious! I definitely recommend spicy noodles than regular. I feel its more flavorful. My kids enjoyed their build your own noodles. Well be going back!

Everything was pleasant. Once we walked in, someone greeted us and told us to pick out a seat. It was not busy at this time about 4pm Tuesday May 7th. Our 1st time here and we told our waiter that and he was so nice at explaining the menu but it was a little hard to understand exactly how it went as it was 3 different menus and full both sides. So you can pick out a Ramen bowl what we got was the Garlic Lovers one (and honestly didnt taste any garlic) and you can add in things to it if you would like. We got Wagyu and Tempura Shrimp The Shrimp was very nice. I was a little disappointed on the Wagyu, I have never had it and thought it was supposed to be tender tho I felt it was tough... I thought that you didnt need to cook it if it was going into a hot soup but theres was cooked so maybe that is why... not sure... also had no flavor alone. The soup had good flavor but thankfully they had this seasoning on the table to give it some spice and made it better. I would give the soup a 7 out of 10. We tried the scallop and bacon, you get 2 on 1 skewer. They were nor bad... the scallops seemed a little rubbery but not bad. Maybe a 4 out of 10. We also go quail eggs, you get 3 on a skewer and they were very good... yolk was soft and they were dusted with a spicy seasoning that was nice. 8 out of 10. I also love chicken gizzards so we ordered them. They honestly was the worst thing Ive had in awhile. The taste was off and they were VERY tough to eat. Only ate one and had them throw away the rest. I let him know we did not like them for those reasons and he seemed a little put off that I said that they were really bad. 0 out of 10 We also got the pop stickers and those were really good!! Very nice dumplings and the inside flavor of the pork inside was very nice! The dipping sauce also went very well with them!! 10 out of 10!! The Sesame balls were soooo good!! Crispy outside, chewy and hot inside and sweet bean paste in the middle! 10 out of 10! Overall wasnt a horrible experience but now we know how to order and maybe look into something different to try because the Ramen wasnt bad... and we are looking forward to trying new things!

I feel like this place has potential. The music didn t match the vibes (early 2000 s) My waiter barely spoke to me and I rarely saw him. I had another Waiter offer me water. Then It took forever to find someone to give me Togo containers and then he forgot and I had to ask again. Usually when you ask for togo boxes, that means it s time for the ticket to pay. I waited and waited and I finally asked if I was suppose to pay upfront and the waiter said you could When I paid, he attempted to have a friendly conversation with me by saying I smelled good, which I knew I didn t since I was out with my son all day at the baseball fields tbh For whatever reason my waiter looked tired and annoyed and very soft spoken at the beginning but when I went to pay he was more energized Food wasn t the best but my son and I enjoyed the quid and gyoza

I am a Ramen fan. I love Jinya. Ocean ramen is similar in term of broth, egg, service vibe and atmosphere also price. I tried ramen here at Hotaka. I did not pick the cheap one because I expect yummy broth. Turn out the broth is simple. Tasteless beef and smell like freezer with no seasoning at all. All ingredients did not go well together. Sorry to say save your $$ for instant noodle or pay higher for those 2 restaurants I recommended above. No bias. Hope the improvements with the taste

Tea was watered down. It was replaced with another watered down tea. When asking questions about the menu our server seemed annoyed. He huffed and puffed. Our food was cooked improperly to our liking. It too was replaced with more improperly cooked food. After the second attempt they did not bother to even replace it. We never got an item that was ordered. Server later admitted he forgot to ring it up. Might have been because he kept on walking outside to vape. Another employee tried to make things better and brought us a free appetizer. For that reason I give the review a two. Overall it was not a great experience at all.

So this is my second time visiting this place and I would say the service is okay. They re not busy at all but somehow my requests during my orders always get mixed up. The staff is generally kind though so that makes up for it. The good quality is fresh and the ambience is really chill. They usually have a nice movie playing on the TV and music at the same time but it s not too loud. Here s my rating on the food that I ve tried: *Shrimp Tempura - 4/5 - love the flavor but too oily *Seaweed Salad - 5/5 great portion size & flavor *R9 Ultimate Tonkotsu White Ramen - 4/5 *R10 Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen - 4/5 *B3 Ribeye (Spicy Garlic) Poke Bowl - 5/5 *Yakitori (scallops and Ribeye) - 3/5 - little over-seasoned and small portions but good *Ribeye (Spicy Garlic) Poke Bowl - 5/5

Im not a picky eater, but Id say below avg. Ramen though screwers were good. My biggest problem was this girl server. Seemed too indifferent and careless without paying attention. Had to ask for many things ourselves because she was on the phone. Maybe she was busy with her personal matters but maybe she should take her job a bit more seriously. Although, the service was quick and the atmosphere was nice, it has a warm inviting look. I just wouldnt really recommended the Hot option.

Saw this location on the fly so I had to visit. Cant pass up a ramen spot and wasnt disappointed. Friendly and helpful staff; greeted the moment I walked in. Server was very helpful explaining the menu and options. Very clean (including the restroom), organized, and prompt. Ordered to-go so I didnt try the ramen yet (update coming) but I got an array of appetizers and yakitori. A2. Chicken Karage and A1. Edamame. . . were delicious. C1. Chicken Thigh and K4. Asparagus with bacon yakitori. . .amazing. The star had to be the Asparagus with bacon; I could eat 20 of those no problem. Ive had these items at other ramen spots and Hotaka has its own unique flavor. Reasonably priced and a wide selection. I will definitely be back for some bowls of ramen, sake, and the beer tower. If you are in Pearland, stop by for some goodness.

Super ambiance and kind, attentive staff. However, the flavor was absent, and the ingredients did not work well together. I see how this place is highly raved. Good location for customers who dont know what actual ramen is. I came in here with my parents and for appetizers we got the takoyaki and entrees they ordered don bowls, beef and fish and I ordered the tsukemen. The takoyaki barely had any octopus in it and was just 90% paste. If there was an adjective that would be midder than mid it would be whatever it is. It was pretty bad. Now my parents are theyre exact type of customers. They dont know what a ramen shop is and just enjoyed their rice bowls. They got served first and my waitress FORGOT about MY dish like how???? My parents were already almost done eating by the time I got my food. Get your waitress off their phones and have them pay attention. When I finally got my food I ordered the tsukemen, DIPPING NOODLES it even says so on the M E N U. The noodles were served inside the broth and when I told the wAiTrEsS she went back and to ask the chef and she reiterated that this is the tsukemen that ordered. Okay cool, I already waited long enough for this mid ramen I dont feel like arguing anymore. The broth was bland and the meat was mid. Mid mid mid overall, go find another place if you want actual ramen.

This was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered the curry tsukemen which had a flavorful broth and nice chewy noodles. However, my noodles weren t in a separate bowl for dipping which I thought was strange, they were all combined together in the bowl. In addition, there were tomatoes and cilantro which didn t really go well with the curry broth. I really liked their soft boiled egg and chashu though. My friend s Tonkatsu shoyu was really good so I will get that next time I come.

Came in for a late lunch. I wanted to try everything. I ordered some yakitori, a little disappointed in the chicken skin (tasted old/stale) the beef was very dry and chewy, the pork belly was a little undercooked, The chicken thighs were fantastic though. I also ordered my own ramen bowl so all of the ingredients came out in separate containers. The broth was spicy, it was good, and so were the noodles. Im not sure about the thickness of the noodles because they seem average, even though I order the thick noodles. The food came out in a timely manner. The service was great. Food was average.

Great ramen place! We loved our spicy tonkotsu and tonkotsu black ramen. Flavors were so good! And their egg and chasu pork were really good! We also tried their appetizers popcorn chicken and chicken thigh, squid, and shishamo fish yakitori. All were good! I m impressed with the service. All waiters and waitresses were attentive and the service was really fast and efficient. The decor in the restaurant was really pretty and cozy. Would definitely come back to try more of their menu!

I ve been twice (back to back days) and will continue to come back and explore the menu. Everything we have ordered (appetizers, yakitori, ramen) has been fresh and flavorful. Even the water is delicious and doesn t taste like tap lol. 10/10 would recommend. As far as service goes, we are always seated quickly and served in a reasonable amount of time (under 10 mins). The staff is attentive, albeit shy and a little unorganized (which leads to slightly awkward interactions). I chalk that up to grand-opening-pains and feel that, with time, they ll gain some confidence and have a better rhythm down. Definitely don t hold it against them no one is born an expert at anything. Give this place a chance and be pleasantly surprised.

First off So happy there is a Ramen place close to our house. For a place that s been open less than a week, I applaud the service and quality of the food. I totally understand when opening a new business the bumps along the way and dealing with unruly customers that just want to attack you for the early growing pains of starting a restaurant. For US, the food was amazing, I loved the Garlic Ramen & needed the extra side of noodles since I was so hungry!! We will definitely be back. My only critique if any is we wouldn t get the Honey Mustard Sauce on the Chicken Karaage, the HM sauce overpowered the other flavors. Thank you for sharing this beautiful restaurant with Pearland & we re excited to enjoy more meals to come!

sadly it s pretty average ramen. nice place and great customer service though. noodles were described as thick but were average sized. got the spicy miso tonkostu and it wasn t spicy at all, the broth itself had average flavor like 6.5/10. i wish there were more veggies in the bowl and they added cilantro which was honestly kinda weird in ramen. the eggs were great tho. it is one of the better places i ve tried in pearland (definitely beats kami & yoshi!)

As I reached to open the door to this establishment, a makeshift sign reading, Help Wanted, gave me pause. After our order had been eventually taken, we sat for 25 minutes before one entree bowl arrived. Our appetizers (and I use that term very loosely) followed some 10 minutes later. As I continued to sit patiently with my brother and sister in law, we inquired again about the status of our meals. We were answered by the manger with yet another, Its coming right up. Taking a bite of their beef ribeye yakitori, I thought of the sponge I had used to do the dishes that morning. Im not a fan of sponges. I mean, I like using them and they function well in day to day tasks, but I dont like eating them. And so, with the sponge taste continuing to linger in my mouth, I asked the manager one last time. How much longer before our additional two entree bowls are done? As he wore his earpods, he said, Its coming right up. I asked, What does that mean? He replied, Im sorry, we are busy and we opened only three days ago. I see, I responded. He then asked me, What can I do to make you all comfortable? My thoughts turned away from the relentlessly bad ribeye-sponge taste and I replied, The check. Leaving was the only solution to this train wreck of a dinner. Perhaps the sign on the front door should read, Help Needed. They do need it, and a lot of it. Enter at your own risk.

Went to this place with my family (6 in total). First thing we ordered was some apettizers (edamame and gyozas). Three of us ordered Ramen the other three ordered poke. After waiting for 45 minutes, they finally brought us the food (Ramen and Poke) but no appetizers!! We asked what happened and they told us they had an issue with the computer and our order did not go in and that they had just put in our order (after 45 minutes!!!). So we cancel the order of appetizers The Ramen was really good but the Poke was TERRIBLE!!!! the three of us were so disappointed of having received a bolw just full of rice from bottom to top and with just literally un shrimp cut in pieces and a few vegetables. The three pokes exactly the same way!! Just a big bowl full of rice!!! TERRIBLE!! Wont come back! The owner was there and we never received an apologize for the terrible service and terrible food!! This place is just starting and maybe we revisit in a few months...

Ordered the Pork ramen, added bok choy. Broth was rich with good flavor, pork belly was tender and delicious. Food was hot, fresh, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. So excited to have a good ramen place near work, up until now Houston had the only options IMO. Restaurant settings were very clean and appealing, staff was helpful and friendly. Will be a regular spot for me!
