Recently worked with Nick to plan and successfully host a special golf outing to celebrate my mothers 80th birthday. Nick did an amazing job from start to finish and everything went of without a hitch. We had catering taken care of as well as all of the things we asked for. It was an amazing, wonderful and special family event. We were so incredibly pleased. Thank you Nick for making this event happen flawlessly.

At the current prices, I can t recommend. Disappointing because the staff are very nice and the greens are in great shape. Several holes are nearly unplayable. Large tracks of the fairway are marked off, with large hard dirt and rock patches throughout. Could be a fun course, but it will be a long time before I consider Iron Horse again.

Some of the holes are in really bad shape. There at least 3 holes on the back nine where the entire fairway might as well be ground under repair. For $90 this was not worth it. I expect more. There are courses like Waterchase and Tiera Verde that are in the same price range and are in near private clubs condition. Iron Horse should be charging $50 to play here while they undergone these improvements .

So some good and some bad. The greens were in fantastic shape. Probably some of the healthiest greens Ive played in DFW. The rough is very punishing and thick around the greens. Unfortunately the back 9 fairways are in pretty rough shape right now. You can tell theyre working on making repairs, but it will probably be a bit before they are in good shape. Id definitely give this course 4+ stars if they got the fairways in order. Still had a fine experience and it was worth the greens fee.

If your looking for a place to play a 4:45 hr round at 7:30 am this is place to play. Marshals and clubhouse both act like they care but ultimately will not make anyone speed up or skip a hole. Update: on 15 behind a group that is still 2 holes behind. One group that shouldve been told to skip a hole would have improved pace for the entire morning by 20-30 minutes.

Rumors are true, back 9 fairways are suffering greatly. With time I imagine they ll recover but dang. Great greens though. Also, be careful if you re colored and you don t look white enough to have a white name; they might make a comment like they did to my Vietnamese buddy. Just absolutely unnecessary. If it s suppose to be a joke at least make sure it s funny enough. Just the cherry on top to ensure we don t come here for another year. The racism may or may not be worth it if the fairways get back to better shape

Bella Berryman is just the sweetest little thang .she took care of me and my husband while on course, we witnessed her love for her job and LOVED her bubbly personality you don t see that now in days from the young people. (Year 2015) I thought I liked this course until three years ago. Their hotdogs are pretty good. However, since then, their course has not been in great shape. I believe they still have a decent and fun course design, but their management lacks proper maintenance. I hope they get better!

Honestly this course is just horribly managed. 8 or 10 minute tee times so they can stack cash instead of caring about the golf experience. Zero Marshalls watch the course so expect to be there for 5-6 hour rounds. I ve played 20-30 times there. Different days. Different times. Never a change in pace of play. It also seems they never really water. Lots of dry and dead fairway spots that just shouldn t occur. The range is seemingly always closed even if it just slightly rains for 1 day before you go. So you can t really warm up. They charge insane fees for what you get. $90 round should be perfect greeens and perfect pace of play. Instead you get iffy greens and horrid pace of play 3-4 groups stacked at most holes just waiting on one slow group.

This was the worst course I ve played in the metroplex to date for the criminal price of $87. There is hardly any grass in any of the fairways even though we are well above average in rain totals. Even a $40 round at Pecan Valley blows this place out of the water. Hope they can get some help soon, they need it

The course was a great test! I really appreciate how the course was laid out and honestly I would love to play it again. However, the fairways were in rather rough condition. More than half the fairways my second shot was off hard dirt. That is honestly my only complaint.

This used to be a fun course to play, Ive been playing here for almost 4 years. The main problem is that the same fairways have had the same dry dirt patches that entire time. There are few par 4 fairways that dont huge areas of dry dirt, rocks and tree roots, some fairways are far worse than others. For the price of $65 a round they need to do better. For the same price you can play Fossil Creek and the course management is night and day compared to Iron Horse. There are also at least 4 or 5 holes that are cart path only. The pace of play is usually always slow and the Marshalls arent usually present to push the pace or just dont. I never post negatively on local businesses but the price of play and the poor course management doesnt add up and its getting frustrating.

Golfed here multiple times over the years with my grandpa and its always been great until yesterday. $55 round of golf for aerated greens, I get this is a necessary process, but $55 for greens at the current shape....come on. Expect a good 18 extra strokes on your game trying to putt on these greens, worst aeration Ive seen. Always typically well kept in past, heard something about this golf course being bought out a year or so ago by a big company. Possible slow decline of this course for years to come if focused on high prices for course in current condition. Updated review- Just golfed here again yesterday due to convenience for my grandpas drive. THANK GOD I found a $30 hot deal on GolfNow. Do not recommend if you plan to spend $80 for a round on this course. Course is in worse condition than when we last played. Multiple holes are cart path only due to the shear amount of guck on this course compared to grass. If you golf with anyone older who cant walk much, I HIGHLY recommend you play elsewhere.

Canceled a tournament after I drove over an hour to get there. Wasn t apologetic at all and said it was due to rain. After I left they sent out an email to everyone saying it was canceled. Heck their own golf coach even showed up. Every tournament I have ever played has been pre-pay, but this one was not. I m sure they canceled because due to rain less people would show up.

This is an awesome golf course, or so I have heard! Truth is, next to the golf course office is a magical garden created by a nearby church and missionaries. This is where I was! It has everything you can imagine about the life, death, resurrection of Jesus. It is quiet, beautiful, and almost timeless Seriously, it appears someone left it there in the mid 1990s. If you have the desire to feel close to Jesus, it is worth a visit. No charge, or fee. Just please treat it nicely as it is a treasure. I almost dont want to tell anyone because people can be so destructive. However, someone might need this quiet place!

So I live on this golf course and I ve played it multiple times. The two new women that work the pro shop front desk were very rude to me when I asked to pay for only nine holes for my son and I. They told me that they only had an 18 holes rate. When my grandfather payed, they let him pay for 9 holes because he was old . The customer service here has gone way done hill so don t expect anything classy out of this course.

This course deserves a new and energetic management team. This also could be one of the best practice facilities in the area. If things stay this way I see this course turning into apartments and shopping center soon. 1.Hire a new golf pro 2.Hire a new greens keeper 3.Makes the restaurant and bar area fun! Good conditions. Fun layout. Good staff. However its a little pricey, and with no walking rate this is the only reason it gets 4 stars. Very disappointed. I played in a 2 man scramble Sat 10th of June. I buy 2 vodka drink, 2 Gatorade, and 2 waters from the bar. I go to our assigned hole and there is a bev station set up. I forgot to ask the bartender for ice so I asked the bev station and was denied, 2 drink minimum to get ice. I explained that I had already bought 6 but they would not give me any ice unless I purchased 2 more drinks. It was 99 degrees that day and ice should have been given out regardless. Not happy.

Played on a Friday a.m. Not a fan of mats on driving range so had a limited warmup. Went off exactly on time and starter was super friendly/helpful. First several holes were in great shape and pace was good. We hit the wall on #8 and crawled around the back 9. There were several times that two groups would be waiting on each tee box. Numerous holes on the back are cart path only which made the pace unbearably slow. Tee boxes were good overall. Greens still recovering from aeration but rolled fairly well. Some of the fairways on the back were terrible with large areas of bare dirt. I enjoy this track but it s not currently worth the rate they re charging.

Attended the MCCHS 6th Annual Heritage Golf event. It was a funfand enjoyable outing. This is an excellent golf course with a friendly staff. Its layout is a bit quirky but for me that adds to the charm of the place. I plan on another vist with my trusty push cart soon. And I will look into their IHGP too.

The course is well maintained. The cart situation is the worst with GPS mapping that pretty much make it cart path only when there is no reason a cart shouldn t go there. No signs or ropes the cart just quits. Suggestion. Bring side mirrors for the cart so you can use the cart to go where other courses would let to go.

I m not a golfer, but my husband is. I usually read a book in the golf cart while he does his thing. We were visiting Dallas for our anniversary, and he wanted to play here. It was a lovely experience! The greens were GORGEOUS and the staff was INCREDIBLE. The staff was friendly, active with the customers, and personal. We even had two different staff members meet us on the golf course and tell us Happy Anniversary. We ended up eating lunch after the game, and the sweet potatoes fries were some of the best I ve had. Would highly recommend going to Iron Horse, and it will definitely be a place we visit when we are in town.

Now: I reviewed this course last year and didnt have much good to say. But, they closed the course and refurbished it. So I played today to see and it is much better. The best part is the greens. They roll as true as they can. They hold approach shots well and they have good speed. The good is the fairways and rough. Probably the biggest impovement they made while it was closed was from tee box to green. Some of it is still getting established (9/2020) but it will be very good soon. Also, the club house got a nice refresh. Its light, clean and updated. The practice facilities are also very good. A large practice tee with a lot of flags to hit too plus an excellent putting green are great. The pace of play was much better today. Edit: The pace of play has fallen off the map. Just finished a 2:30 nine. I cant take that. The only small hiccup are the tee boxes on 7 and 10. They have ruts in them like the lawn mower sunk in to them when the ground was wet and there is very little grass on parts of each box. Im hopeful they will find a way to get that one flaw fixed. Now, the price is well worth the course. Precious Review: This course is falling apart. It used to be in such good condition. For what they charge now, it is overpriced. The greens are ok, but very grainy. The fairways are passable, but once you leave the fairway youll be hitting off of rocks and dirt, mostly rocks and the bunkers need to be dug out and made into grass bunkers. Bunkers arent cheap so get rid of them and spend your money fixing the fairways and the rough. As for pace of play, we played in a Tuesday and it was just under 5 hours to play. Thats just unacceptable. I did ask the clubhouse to get a marshaller out to move things along. They told me that they were happy with the pace of play. By the back nine we got to 7, people were quitting and leaving, hitting into each other and just generally frustrated with the pace.

Several of the holes were very unique and most were challenging. i.e. doglike right and then sharp 90 degrees to the left. The only drawback is the steep pricing. Can find many comparable courses for a fraction of the cost. Star ratings shouldnt reflect price though, so 5/5 stars from this guy.

Just finished up a charity golf tournament and it was a fantastic day. Course was in excellent shape, staff was excellent and hardworking, and everything went as planned. Fun and challenging course. You definitely need to know the rules for the golf carts...they are GPS monitored and if you stray into a restricted area, your cart will shut down and you can only drive in reverse until you are back on the cart path. So watch the screen in the cart for info.

Layout is confusing and signage is spotty. Lots of turning around to find next tee location. At least four different locations you will be lost during a round here. Bummer theres no real food options once you leave clubhouse... Beverage carts have chips and candy bars. Our cart died at 12, called and we waited 45 mins before we were rescued. Course condition was alright considering the weather we have been experiencing. Lots of hard-pan lies. People were nice.

This place is making poor business decisions . Leaving Arcis management and not doing a halfway house for food or drinks when the course doesn t return back to the clubhouse after 9 holes. Like what is management thinking? No F&B when it s hot and your course layout doesn t return? Leaving your membership management group also? Good luck guys; not coming back

Went back to the driving range after a long absence. Place has had a big facelift with more changes to come. Large bucket of balls for 12$, 5 pm and the range was half full.

Love this golf course. The staff is always really helpful and friendly. Great range, chipping area, and practice putting greens to get you ready for your game or to just work on your game.

Love the course. Great staff and the carts were to notch with gps. Watch out for the crazy bald guy with the dead Palm trees in his back yard. Dude has some loose screws!

Im a big fan of this course. I like the design. Its challenging and makes you think off of the tee box. The course was in good shape. There are some areas that they are actively working to repair but overall I find it to be in good shape. The greens were in great shape. I find this course to be one of the better values in the area.

Great staff( light on the breakfast staff ) drunk server on the course was absolutely an outstanding young lady! Course was in excellent shape and hole positions were challenging but not too hard on the average to novice player.

Never again. Got told 5 times by the ranger to play faster yet finished 18 in 4 hours and 9 minutes. Guy followed us the entire round. Paid too much to be harassed the whole time.
