Each time Ive needed assistance with a tenant issue, TTU has come through for me. Their attorneys are knowledgeable and patient. TTU can support you even if you just need a professionally written letter about an issue. Dont face landlords or managers alone. They use professional resources, why wouldnt you?

Poor communication from staff. Not sure if they understand how to actively listen to a situation without jumping the gun. Unfortunately, this union isnt there for tenant support from how the less than 2 minute communication was handled. Just poor overall and will have figure this out.

Ive used TTU for several landlord/tenant issues. They helped me find resolution of my issues by EDUCATING me, not just doing it for me. If youre having concerns about your tenancy, please contact them first. Dont worry yourself sick or feel helpless. Call them.

INCREDIBLY RUDE. I just called to ask a specific question regarding the completion of work orders in my unit and this woman wouldn t even let me finish my sentence. Would not let me even thoroughly explain my situation. Do NOT go to them for help if your situation is specific and falls out of the lines of a general complaint. I cannot believe how rude they are.

Im reallly shocked at some of these reviews, They literally saved our butts not once but twice from eviction. And I know they are spreading themselves thin.. they actually came out and left a note on our door is the reason we found out about it. And to be honest they are doing something that is not making them rich! They are doing something to help people, even ungrateful ones that probably was upset and took it out on them. The photos below are the nightmare we live in, and getting worse by the day. Our ceiling fell in on Aug 21 2021 and is still in the same place 2 months later, Our home and belongings are covered in Black Mold and asbestos, I called code enforcement because I feel each day we are dying more more and more. The Ventanas at Valwood and Wehner Multifamily filed a Retaliation Eviction lawsuit on us again. Retaliation because you called for help is HUGE Illegal, just as denying us a safe living environment.

Very rude ! Then wants to read out your lease , but does not comprehend it. I called because of a complaint I had about smoke coming from my apartments kitchen appliances that my apartment company did not attend to for over 8 hours ! I put in several calls and in person office request about the smoke and no one came . I called this place for guidance and yet she heard what she wanted to hear, but directed me to read the bold print in section 26. of my lease. HOWEVER, If you read the section in the parentheses it clearly states with the exception of smoke, fire, and, flood related incidents ect.. Those must be reported immediately!!! Lady was not only rude but ignorant ! Better motivation for me buying a house .

OK like one i,did,nt have no problems with the landlord. But i,had just an small leak underthe kitchen cabit. And it just need a little repair and the land lord ,at the time had like maybe 90.days to repair it, And he said he would fixit and he never did, So he wrote me an evictions for 30days. And at that time i,did,nt no my legal right,s So that week i, call the tentant union. And i,was invite to the meeting. And it was like at6:00pm, And i,did,nt tell nobody what i,did, andi, had fill out aform telling them what had happen. And we went to court and my rent was paid. And i,won my case.Because he did,t fix the leak,and he try to sue me for1,487.Exsample And the Tenants Unionhad so many cases theyHelp get an attorney from Legal Aid And i,did,nt have to pay nothing.and this waswith DHA Dallas Housing Authory. I,for got we had to wait aweek and then. And, And all he had to do is fix a small water leak. And i, had Won my case. So yeah depend,s on what your case is all About. They,ll try to win it for you. ps. it do not matter how many people that,s helping over there. Because some nights and a certain time of the month. It,smore than two people there depenting on the , case.

Called on 9/16/2020 person who answered phone at 10 am was rude and condescending. I asked to be helped by someone else and she said she was the only person. I can speak to find that hard to believe. If you don t want to be nice and do your job. Simply take a personal day.

Extremely disappointed in this organization that is supposed to help renters. I was told that there are only 2 people who work in this office. And they are both so backlogged with renters contacting them so they dont have time to discuss my issues. Seriously!!! Then, do us renters a favor and close your doors!! Very unprofessional.

Texas Tenants Union is a partner for individuals who rent. And thats most of us. Apartment owners seem to have all the power and push us around. Go to a meeting here and discover your rights and how to stand up for yourself. These folks are great.

Impossible to get hold of. Newer call back or reply to email. Never received phone call for scheduled appointment, but email that they couldnt reach me and general phone number to call them back... the one they never reply nor answer. Dont waste your time and money.

If you have problems or questions regarding your landlord and your rights as a tenant, whether renting or leasing...this is the place for all your answers. They have regular meetings after which you meet with one of their lawyers or advisors to help you with your personal concerns privately. I found it very informative and very good advice which has and is helping with my particular set of problems. I strongly urge you to give them a call and connect with them.

Great place to get help if you are a tenant having problems with a bad landlord or slumlord. These are the people to go to for help. They know all the laws and all of your rights. And can and will help you through the whole process of court n everything even if you are being evicted. Yasmine is the lady to talk to there. She is so brilliant with the laws n rights of tenants.

It was worth the visit. Everyone working there & even the tenants hvng issues were wonderful & offered ride home bcuz travelled by bus. No matter how late it was, they spent quality time with each & everyone of us. Am grateful for Dallas tenant Assn & after moving will be donating to this organization. Nothing more than a SCAM to bilk money out of people. They have no intention of helping, nor do they have the help to give. You call up and ask for information or help....they only send you info on having to PAY them money before they help you. So you pay them money to join their little FRAUD business, only to be told Theres nothing we can do!!!! If anything, they seem to work for the Texas Apartment Association (TAA), as they claim TAA is ALWAYS in the right! Reminds me of a part of German history where this one little dictator claimed everything was in the right for HIS organization!!! LIARS, CHEATS, FRAUDS, and CROOKS!

I personally feel like the tenants union and the Texas apartment association work hand in hand. It doesn t really help to get you justice, they just point out how the apartment is in the right. Also, I felt like the level of professionalism over the phone was low. I can tell the lady hates her job and hates helping people by the way she brushed off all my grievances and rushed the conversation. It seems like a waste. Good thing I got the discounted package.

Had such an AWESOME experience with the first meeting i paid to be a member. They are very helpful and knowledgeable about the laws of Texas Tenants Rights. Ive learned so much Im truly grateful for them taking time out of their own time to help the society and community. Joined their club after attending the tenant meeting and was told for 15$ we would receive priority calls over non-members and legal advice for JP Courts and Texas Law. We received a handbook on what to do for each step of our process and very vague phone information. We never met with a representative from Texas Tenant Union other than via phone calls. Now case is going to County Court and were left with no council or referral.

Its simple, JOIN THE TX TENANT UNION or NEVER COMPLAIN about anything to management!!!!! A single tenant is a Lone-Soldier - That is easy for anyone to TARGET and RETALIATE against. One persons actions against an organization is acting extremely FOOLISH. Acting alone sets you up to be DISCREDITED and mostly likely HARASSED!
