I ordered a number 15, carne asada with rice and beans. It was good, edible and very well proportions. You get alot for your buck. Thats important in my book. Atmosphere is very nice and classy. Seats and tables are comfortable. But I will try the chicken next time..

Husband ordered birria tacos and asked if they come with consome. Person at register seemed confused and added it on anyway without clarifying that their birria tacos are not fried nor do they have cheese. Just bland brisket tacos with cilantro and onion- completely un-dippable as they would fall apart. I m sure they knew what he was expecting to order when he asked for consome and the possible lack of transparency just to make a sale was not cool. Chips and guacamole was more like a verde salsa that tasted like oil and chips were soggy due to the guacamole being poured all over the chips. Husbands burrito was soggy, had to fry it on the comal myself when he got home. Just very disappointing considering the reviews were mostly positive.

It looked a little old on the outside but I decided to give this place a try. The inside is old too but clean. This restaurant offers the usual, traditional Mexican dishes. The staff was friendly and nice. I ordered 3 regular chicken tacos with a side of beans. The food came out pretty quickly and I was very happy to see the portions were huge! The chicken was well seasoned and the beans were very good. The red salsa was watered down way too much. I would definitely come back to try some of the different dishes. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Mexican food.

4.5 The mixed fajitas were seasoned and grilled perfectly delicious large portions and the tortillas were fresh and warm. We had to ask for our chips to be warmed twice but even after that they were delicious. Glad we came regardless of the bad reviews. We will be back and will be adding them into our regular rotation.

21-22 years ago, when my husband and I were still dating, we would grab a burrito - its all we needed to fill us up, and we would still sometimes have leftovers! Today, it is still just as delicious, although my go-to now are the super fries. Even the half order is enough to have leftovers for later! Would be great if they could get the order right. No matter how many times you say no onions/no pico they put it on anyway and it honestly seems like they put extra just because you ask for none. 5-13-24. Updating my review as I have been back a couple more times and their quality has gone downhill. Shrimp cocktail is still awesome and probably the best thing they serve. Have tried the two different flavors of quesadillas to see if the first order was a fluke but unfortunately it was not. They are swimming in grease and inedible as the flour tortillas soak up a lot of the grease and there is still more in the container. They are very inconsistent in getting delivery orders correct. Love the rolled tacos when they provide the correct order but 80% of the time I don t get the ones with just cheese as ordered but they pour tones of guacamole on them. Wouldn t be an issue except the person I get them for can t stand guacamole hence bordering the ones w just cheese. Probably won t ever go back unless I just want shrimp cocktail. They don t seem to care about making the orders correct Mexican shrimp cocktail is awesome! The carne asada quesadilla unfortunately was really chewy and laying in a lot of grease in the container so hopefully this was just a fluke. Flavor was good though. They do not scrimp on the meat in the quesadilla or burrito we got. Chicken is a little bland in the taquitos but that seems to be the norm in most places as I believe they rely on the sauces to dip them in. The only that I would not recommend is their queso . This was not queso at all but tasted like the canned cheddar cheese sauce u get on nachos in the movies

Recommend the street tacos. Stay away from the rice and beans. The guacamole and chips were tasty. We ordered to go and the chips were on the bottom of the container while the guac was lathered on top making it great to eat but hard to save for another day. The Chile rellano was tasty but it was cold as if it had been pulled out of the fridge and served. We took our to go food less than a mile away to eat we would have hoped for it to be hot.

You can literally taste the hatred in these tacos. Ordered three carne asada tacos through the drive thru one night recently. I said I would like them with onion and cilantro just how they should come but when I looked inside the box someone had literally thrown handfuls of meat inside three double stacked corn tortillas, the few pieces of onion weren t even diced properly (long, uneven) and there was absolutely no cilantro. Someone obviously hates their job. The level of care that went into making my food was nonexistent, and felt as though they hated having to make it. I will never spend my hard earned money here again.

The main entrees were really good. In fact of some of the best shredded beef Ive ever had. I had the two beef burrito plate, we also ordered the birria, chicken tacos, and chicken enchiladas. All the servings are huge. My burritos must have weighed over a pound a piece. The side dishes were decidedly mediocre. Refried beans and rice were nothing to note. We also got the chips and dip appetizer. The cheese sauce was canned, the pico de gallo was 80% onion, and the guacamole had no seasoning in it at all. If you skip any extras and just order entrees then its fantastic. Everything is very reasonably priced. Especially for what you get. The restaurant is a little dirty and run down looking. Definitely need some updates.

Went here on two different nights and the customer service in the drive-thru was kind and patient. Took the time to answer questions and didn t feel like a hassle to them. This is a genuinely pleasant restaurant with a variety of breakfast and lunch options. The food portions are great for starving customers. I love how easy it is to modify an order just to your liking. There isnt anything on the menu that wont sound familiar because its all classic, delicious Mexican food done right. This place is about as standard as U.S. Style Mexican food gets. Its worth a try if you wanna eat plenty of food. Again, the food portions are VERY generous, so I highly recommend eating here on an empty stomach or if youre ready to eat food portions as big as the plate.

I come here a couple of times a week to get their breakfast tacos for multiple people. For some reason the older lady who works the window in the morning refuses to individually wrap the breakfast tacos. Because of the size of the tin foil wrap, she prefers to wrap two tacos at a time. I ve explained to her in the past that I m buying for multiple people, not just me which is why the individually wrapped tacos were necessary. She basically blew me off. However, anyone else works the window, they will individually wrap the tacos as requested. She s the only one who refuses to. This morning when I went up there, Juan took my order per the receipt I posted. But it was this same lady who prepped my food and again refused my request. Man, we love these burritos! First of all, they are huge! We can never finish the whole thing, and they heat up great for tomorrows breakfast. Also, the ingredients are good, not traces of bacon or whatever meat; its all up in there. Youre going to need the green sauce... maybe the red too if you want to boost the heat. Not sure how people can give this place five stars and call if authentic. The shells for the crispy tacos were so thick and hard it made my teeth hurt to bite into them. Meat is literally mystery meat. Shredded beef (I think it was) was so dry on one of the tacos it fell apart in my hands. The queso tasted like cheese I buy in the grocery store. I gave this place a second chance and in return I got a hot and soggy chicken quesadilla fresh out of the microwave. It was so hot and soggy from the microwave that it stunk and smelled almost like tuna. I am a cook myself and I was upset knowing my quesadilla was microwaved to be hot. The food is decent but the service is horrible. The people that work there, especially the Latino girl that works morning shift have never heard of the idea of customer service. They are also very cheap. They would only give me 1 hot sauce packet for 2 tacos and they would not let me get water, even in my own cup, without paying for it. I thought this may have been a 1 off but this appears to be there normal operating mode. I guess I will find another place to spend my hard earned money; someplace that truly appreciates their customers.

Picked up an order of shrimp fajitas to go that I was going to share with someone and they only gave 1 flour tortilla and 2 corn tortillas that were falling apart already. Thats like a slap in the face. One flour tortilla!!! What a joke! Now we have to go to the store to get more and the food will be cold! Will never order from these rude cheapskates ever again!!

Alvarado is a place we routinely come to for quality authentic mexican food, it is consistently tasty, warm, and well portioned. It has Menudo on its menu most days of the week and the tacos are awesome! Its become a staple to our family and we eat here often. You wont be disappointed if you come here!! Rude cashier who is an older Hispanic woman. Didnt feel welcomed at all and food was very bland I cant see how its a 4.2 rating. Thank goodness shawty enjoyed the menudo but overall Im definitely going to continue driving by this place. No flavor at all in that barbacoa taco very disappointed.

Hidden gem with amazing food! A menu that s huge and made fresh once you order! Fast and friendly service! Taco Tuesday special is 2 tacos with sides and drink for $4.99 ! Looks small from outside but plenty of dining space inside!

This place is a Rip Off. They mix ground beef with the Carne Asada in their burritos. Ive gotten burritos here a few times and payed for Guacamole and Cheese and its missing. Dont think its an accident. Has happened more than once. Buyer Beware.
