Panther Canyon Nature Trail is inside Landa Park. Peaceful trail, well marked, many sensitive areas, trees and birds descriptions on markings throughout. Plus, bubbling natural springs feed the waters. Do Not plan to eat, walk your pet, let your kids play in this area, or go off path.

Great trail, not too challenging but offers us and our dogs a good weekend alternative to our morning walk. Mostly limestone rocks so wear sturdy shoes. Could be muddy after rain or before the sun dries up the dew, but it takes us and the pups about 45 minutes to hike a full circuit and everyone is laid out for a few hours! They have a few benches and poop bags provided (no trash along the way I dont think), but the area is very clean and well kept. We have taken a few dogs from the humane society here on our volunteer days and it is great for them to get their energy out and have lots to sniff!!

This is the other side of Landa Park. We decided to take the mini train instead of walking to see around the park. I am sure nobody wants to walk all along just to see the whole park. Its huge and its summertime you know how hot it is. We see the tubing part, which is the river, the pool, playing ground and etc. Well def come back to do other stuff. Bye for now, New Braunfels.

At the start you have two paths options. The easy trail is Canyon trail. The second option is Rim trail, this path is more challenging and not recommended if you don t have proper hiking shoes and experience. This trail has more of an incline and has a steep drop off to one side, so one needs to be very careful. Also note this trail can be slippery and muddy after rain. Both paths have scenic views and are a joy to traverse. You will see plenty of lizards, squirrels, songbirds, and an occasional rat snake. If you enjoy the outdoors you will be happy hiking the trails here. Do not attempt during flooding conditions as the water has been known to wash out the trail. Fees: Free Toilets: You will find restrooms at the opposite end close to Ohio Avenue. Locations of restrooms are also posted at trail head signage.

A very nice urban trail. By the middle one could almost forget they re in the city. If there was water in the creek this would be a 5-star. On a mild Saturday afternoon we had to park half a mile from the trailhead- the park was stuffed with people, but the trail was not. Trail is wide and mostly a shallow grade. Much is fairly smooth but there a a lot of cobbley rocky stretches.

Beautiful but dangerous especially after a rain and the trail stays muddy for days after due to so much shade. Very confusing at the middle part there are several different paths to take with no signs to say which way is back we just kept turning right finally found our way back out. The so called moderate side is a long upward incline by a cliff by about 4 inches from the edge of the trail on some parts definitely not for everyone then the so called easy side is mostly all creek bed uneven rocks I would not call this easy or beginner at all it was challenging and dangerous and very long took over an hour for my family of 3 and no restrooms on the trail.

I grew up in New Braunfels, and so Ive hiked this trail numerous times. It it still just as beautiful as it was 20 years ago; however, there are (as expected) much more.people on the trail. I came there with a whole load of children (I would call this trail child friendly), and they all enjoyed the trail. Have a picnic in the park before you walk and you will surely enjoy yourself! PSA please remember LEAVE NO TRACE. Dont take anything that belongs on the trail and dont leave your junk!)

Good trail, it gets hot/humid fast because of the trees. Everyone I have ran into is nice and friendly. Ive seen people walk with their pets too. Parking: Parking could be tricky, but if you go early or at sunset hour, you should be fine. Landa Park is always crowded now, but if you do go when its busy just drive around until you find a spot.

Parking: There are many places to park. Some you have to walk quite a bit further especially on holidays when it s really busy with people. Toilets: Have some restrooms there for people to use in the park. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome and see lots of them.

This is a hidden gem in the city of New Braunfels. At 1.2 miles and with uneven terrain, have decent walking shoes at minimum, and water is recommended, especially in warm weather. I struggled to find The trail head. To access the trail park near the most northern part of Landa Park. You will access the trail right off of Landa Park Drive. It looks like you are about to walk out of the park but when you are walking up the hill the trail head entrance is to the left. Ive attached some photos to give some visual reference to where its located. But it is an awesome natural trail. Very rocky so make sure your foot wear is appropriate. Heavily shaded.
