Food is good, service is super slow. If you are in any kind of a hurry, you d be frustrated & disappointed. Ambiance is dated but OK. There are plenty of people working behind the counter, but it takes for ever to make the food. I don t know how a restaurant can stay in business with such slow service. Oh well. Again, food is good.

Went on a Friday night, and some guy was flipping out because the two people cooking werent moving as fast as he wanted. The staff that dealt with him stayed super friendly and courteous where someone else would have just kicked him out. It is great food, and New Braunfels keeps filling up with a ton of imports, so be prepared for a previously smell town to be slowed down by alarmi g numbers of unfriendly people. These people handled it in stride and still turned out some amazing food!

First time here. You walk up to the counter and order your food. Then you pick it up at the counter when your name is called. They have a lot of good classic items here. Burgers, salads, typical diner type food. The place was super busy. I think we found the last open table to sit. It was Sunday after church so I see why it was busy. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and a side salad. Classic diner food. The salad was crispy and delicious. The mashed potatoes were very tasty. Creamy yet a little chunky., which is what I like. The chicken fried steak was the BOMB. A good sized portion with gravy slathered all over. The crispiness of the crust was delicious. Super good. The only reason I did not give 5 is the place does seem older and could use a little sprucing up. But past that, the food is exactly what I wanted. Delicious !!

Great place for lunch. However, when I order for our workplace Favors card was declined. I felt bad and drove to the restaurant to pickup our order because we ordered over 20 burgers and 20 sides. After trying my two work cards and even my personal the cashier couldnt get any of the cards to work and just kept saying they were declined with no reason. I hope this is resolved. I would love to order large orders from here in the future but dont want to go through this again.

At first glance everything looked extremely promising, however about half way through our meal we began to realize it was all a wolf in sheeps clothing. A bait and switch. We walked in and get situated, and start noticing as we sit: (it got worse the longer we were there) Sticky floors, dirty bathrooms, dirty changing table, grime build up, multiple soda taps out of product, no garbage bins, sticky ketchup bottles that looked like they hadnt been cleaned in some time. All were nearly empty. The arcade machines were dirty and sticky. Our food came, I got the fish and chips with fried okra and texas toast. The plate looked really tasty and was ripping hot. However all lost its glimmer and glow as soon as I picked up the toast and took a bite. The toast was toasted only on the side facing up, the fish looked crispy but was soft and flaccid when you went to grab it. The fries were limp and soggy. The tartar sauce was garbage, I spit it out. The only thing that was good was the okra. It was excellent. The food was expensive too. 3 kids meals, fish and chips, and the double cheese burger was $54. About $20 more than I expected and certainly not worth the price. With inflation I dont mind eating out but if Im going to spend my hard earned money, restaurants need to be able to produce a quality atmosphere and meal. This place wasnt it. We will not be back to revisit unfortunately. I hope they do better.

Frito pie with so much cheese it ruins it. Also, way too many fritos for the amount of chili you get. The cheese was a solid mass on top of the fritos and chili. It also seemed like it had gone through an oven and I had burned fritos. You should be ashamed for serving this. And even more so for calling it Frito Pie. Other people in our party had very forgettable hamburgers. Fries were just ok. Atmosphere is boring and not very comfortable. Service was friendly but nothing special.

Used to really like this place. Food is going downhill. Had a BLT and fries, and the bacon was so skinny and overcooked it was barely a BLT. The fries were virtually inedible, like they had cooled before I ever got to it. They were completely out of the only soda I like. Called by the wrong name kinda capped it off. Man, this place has gone DOWN HILL. I cane in an hour before closing and order a chicken fried steak. I get my meal, and there is no silverware. NONE. I ask the kid behind the counter for some silverware, and he says ALL the silverware is being washed. He hands me the cheapest plastic utensils youve ever seen. Have you ever tried cutting chickenfry with a flexible plastic knife? No good. I ask the kid for some silverware when its clean, and he says hell bring some. Nope. He never did. I ask the manager whats going on, and he goes back to find a truckload of silverware to eat with while the kid looks at me with an expression that can only be described as eternally lost. AMAZING. Since I had waiting time, I look around and the tables are dirty, floors are dirty, and the signs hanging over where you eat your food are disgustingly dirty.

Food was good, 3 of us had dinners and all 3 of us had to wait for our sides to come out later which was still good but was half way done with my meal before they came out and my biggest issue was I ordered chicken fried steak and had to eat it with a plastic fork and knife. Such a let down, had to get up twice more to get a new fork.... all the while I had to order at the counter, I had to serve myself, get new forks, get my own refills, wait for my sides and was frowned upon for not tipping up front for service well done. Tipping is for good service and I did not get a tip for serving myself.

The food was good, the staff friendly; however, the restaurant was filthy. They cleared the tables but didnt wipe them off, the floors looked like they hadnt been swept in days, the ladies room was disgusting. The silverware on the condiments table was dirty as well. There were chip crumbs in the silverware containers and one of the knives had food in it as if it had been used and not washed.

After getting our food I asked for salsa to go with my nachos. Was told that would be an additional charge. Ok, that s annoying but whatever. Next a young girl goes up and asks for extra ranch even though there are TWO signs stating the it s an extra .25 cents. The same employee hands her the ranch with no comment of paying for it. We eat here every week with a club we belong to. Have tried many items. My favorite are the hamburgers and the grilled chicken salad. The fried food baskets are hit and miss. Sometimes they are good, sometimes over cooked. They must have staff shortages. Even since Covid ended, their dining room and floors do not get cleaned enough. See trash on floor and trays on tables. The food sometimes takes extra long to come out. They just need to up their game a bit.

I always get the bold bbq burger, it s a great combination. I Have had bad service in the past, probably due to inexperienced employees. The most recent times we ordered here, the service has been pleasant and food has been on point. Would recommend them over other fast food restaurants for a good lunch, coming from a local recommendation. Edit - used to like this place a lot. Over the last two years service has declined. Last two times we have ordered it has been incorrect or missed something on our to go orders. Probably won t be coming back as for the price of a meal for low quality food and not getting what I pay for is not good business.

Place is clearly suffering from poor ownership or management. They dont really have a good to go ordering or pickup system. 2 times I went there, 2 bad experiences. 1st visit had me waiting for an hour just to find out they lost my order ticket. This second time, they let us know our order would be ready when we got to the restaurant, only for them to tell us they did not have the order. When we did receive the food, half of the items were missing ingredients. It seems if the restaurant is even the slightest bit busy, something will turn out to be incorrect with the order. It would be easy to blame the staff, but it seems clear to me the Longhorn is behind the times, and have refused to adapt when it comes to to go orders post COVID. I wont be coming back.

I have always loved this place and been going to this place since it was called the Hungry Farmer on Pat Booker in Universal Cityback in 1988. But today I ordered a Chicken Fried Steak for me and another and they said they dont carry A1 or any steak sauce. This is Texas and you serve this and no steak sauce?! Then the girl took our order and i paid then said that i didnt request drinks.... thats called common sense that we would need fluid with our meal. So I had to pay for drinks after the fact. We tried this place because everyone said how good it was. I ordered a taco salad and my husband ordered a bacon burger. I went to see if it was ready and watched them take the burger out of a to-go container. His bun was cold, so Im not really sure they cooked it right there on the girl. The chicken on the taco salad was luke warm and flavorless. The tarot tots my husband got were good, but just as good as sonic. The worst part was the staff. Im not 100% if we will go try again, maybe? We heard it was just the best food and really yummy so we went. We ordered a bacon cheese burger and a chicken fried chicken burger. Im not sure if they had to kill the cow and the chicken but 45 min later we finally got food. It wasnt really busy, but like maybe a steady flow of people? Almost all of the fountain drinks were out of order, good thing I drink tea. Either way maybe we will try again someday? The food was actually really wonderful, maybe carry out would be better here? 5 Homemade onion rings were good, and the sweet potato fries were good. Side note... the hardest working guy in the whole place was bussing tables and working so hard. I didnt see his name but he was really trying hard.

Worst Longhorn I ve been to and I ve been to the one behind UTSA. Took 20 minutes to get our order, which is fine if the order is correct. Ordered chicken fried steak and got chicken. The ketchup on the table was rancid and ruined our tots. The restrooms were filthy and had a bad odor.

My Bacon cheese burger was great along with a side of tots. Wife had chicken fried steak which was a huge portion. Sides she chose were onion rings and macaroni and cheese. Mac and cheese didnt taste good at all. Noodles were overcooked and pasty and hardly any cheese sauce. Kraft Mac and cheese would have been better. Weird this side was bad, was our first item we didnt like an item here since we started coming to the cafe.

Food was just ok for price, not blown away by our burgers. Had to wait a long time (over 30 minutes) but that s probably because there was only one girl cooking. The other girl in the kitchen standing around vaping. There were people walking around budding tables but restaurant was dirty. There was trash all over floor, tables not wiped, and ketchup bottle on table sticky. I would not go back.

The burgers were good but the tater tots tasted like they were reheated from better days. Bad grease maybe, we couldn t tell but how do you make tots taste that bad? We asked for them to be replaced with fresh but they sent the same awful ones back microwaved and the cashier was rude about it. We were laughing about how awful it was. If you get the burger, pass on the tots.

Best tater tots in town. Burgers are great, grilled chicken sandwich is pretty good... Was sauced/marinated differently this week, but still good. I prefer the older version. Dr Pepper dispensers were pumping clear water... No syrup at all, I drank root beer instead. Will be back, hope grilled chicken sandwich is back to its old self again.... Cooked perfectly tho, as always

I paid a little over $16 for one of their signature hamburgers, sweet potato fries, and a drink. While it was the ONLY hamburger Ive ever eaten that looked like its promo picture, it was a little pricey. If it was me, Id offer a free burger after 9-10 on a punch card to improve their traffic and value.

Great food, fair price. But the first impression on a customer walking in is about clean tables and floors. In this area yall can do a lot better. Nothing was good. My bacon cheeseburger was smothered in so much mayo, that s all I could taste. My husband s chicken fried steak was so salty and his mashed potatoes were so peppery. If whomever was preparing the food calmed down on seasoning and the mayo application, it d be pretty good. Very unfortunate experience, fries and macaroni were good though.

Ordered food ate about half a a black hair was battered into my onion ring. Took the to the counter and ask for new ones. They made new ones but burnt then then proceeded to point and talk. Katie service was wonderful. Paige and Ethan service wasn t very good talking and point at customers that spend 60.00 buck in the restaurant that allows you to make money. Bad service check you food before you eat. No hair nets

Disappointing visit. Took 45 minutes to get our meal (2 burgers) and the tots were over cooked and been sitting for awhile. The burgers themselves were luke warm, cheese wasn t melted, and bread tasted stale. I get being busy and things happen but nothing positive from this visit. From having to wait 5 mins for someone to take our order to an hour later leaving disappointed. Wish I could say we d be back.
