Needed a breakfast place that opened early and had a variety of breakfast options. We have some food issues, so this place serves pretty much everything youd ever expect for breakfast, including gluten free options, etc. and they opened at 7:30am on a Sunday. Overall this should be a pretty good review. Nice place, clean, nice staff. Food was decent. Our only negative issues were two: they came and took our drink order pretty quickly, then two waters, a coffee and a hot tea took 20 minutes. Then another 10 minutes until someone, someone different, came and took our food order. And then, 20 minutes after that, the food didnt show up correct. I ordered the Veggie Swiss omelet. The server repeated back my order You want the veggie omelet?. I figured, OK, so yes. Came with tiny chopped veggies (1/4 cubes) and zero swiss cheese. I did also do a substitution, grits for toast and the grits were OK. Not fully cooked but grits are indeed hard to get right. They were decent, as was the cheese-less, very plain and simple omelet. My wife just got two fried eggs and hashbrowns and those were good, except she ordered two orders of hashbrowns and they delivered only one - and then promptly went back and brought us out another. Had to flag someone down to get a refill of coffee. Nice place but management needs to train and supervise these Baylor college kids. Smart kids, nice, good atmosphere, polite and clean, but the service issues tainted an otherwise good time.

The pancakes may be big but there is no flavor. They tasted like big rings of batter. My omelet just had a massive glob of half melted cheese. I ordered a coconut mocha. It wasnt mixed. I was charged over a dollar for both mocha and coconut syrup. Which I cant imagine there was more than 3 to 4 pums of each. And there is no baby changing stating in the bathroom so I had to lay my 2 year old on the floor to change him ( I thankfully had a small changing mat in my diaper bag). The ladies working were all nice and pleasant.

Atmosphere: Looking at it from the outside is way different than being inside the establishment. From the outside it blended within the surrounding buildings, but once I entered the restaurant it had a great ambiance, especially with the greenery wall great for photo ops. The lights were nice and ample seating in the front of the building, with more towards the back of the building. There was a lot of natural light and was able to see the farmers market as I had breakfast. Service: Service was great as soon as we entered the restaurant and was almost seated immediately. Our waitress was able to answer all of our questions and was even able to offer recommendations. Quality: I had the Mexican Scramble with a pancake. Before I get to the great part of the meal, the Mexican Scramble had so much flavor and was a decent amount for what was paid for. The sign wasnt lying when it said Pancake Heaven... I got a buttermilk pancake and it was delicious. The right amount of fluffiness and still had the ability to absorb the syrup that was provided. Definitely a top spot for eating purely pancakes. Filis Fave: No surprise here...the pancakes are where its at and definitely going to broaden my horizon with the various types of pancakes they offer. Now if I could only obtain some of the merch that the employees were using

All of the staff here are absolutely amazing and friendly. I have been coming to Cafe Cappuccino for years and they take time to learn your name and your order as a regular customer. Food is always delicious and a wide variety of options to choose from. You only need one pancake if your order has an option for this or toast. They are gigantic!

Came in for a work conference, and decided to go in for lunch before anything started. (I had my meal here 06/26/2024 around 11:30 am) Place is nice and cozy, my waiter was very prompt and kind. (While rather informal in service). I got the Caramel Apple Crepes, the crepes were thicker (more akin to a thin pancake than a crepe), and were both flavorless and odd tasting at the same time (tasted like raw flour). The filling was good, but several of the apples had core / stem peices. It was okay, the other waitresses were cursing and gossiping loudly behind the counter. The presentation is good, but the flavor is subpar. Overall this place is mediocre at best.

***DO NOT LET NOSTALGIA LURE YOU IN!*** Update for owner: this occurred this past Sunday, the 26th. This place is NOT what it used to be. The service here is so horrendous you would be better off going to McDonald s (or literally any other restaurant in Waco). Hostess seats people out of the online waitlist order (even if the parties are the exact same size) and she prioritizes those standing inside over those waiting outside or in cars. After finally being seated, no one ever came to take my order. I waited 45+ minutes to be seated and then another 15+ at my table and no one even made eye contact. I eventually ended up just walking out, leaving $6 on the table for the (subpar) coffee that I had ordered through the hostess. Very sad as I had been looking forward to revisiting this old favorite of mine. Do not waste your time.

I was hoping for the sort of coffee shop where I could sit for a few hours with a laptop and some coffee, but no. This is more cafe and they have a full breakfast menu. On this Sunday morning, the place was crowded and there was a queue so I did the right thing and didnt dawdle after my meal. A lovely ham and cheese omelet was prepared for me. It took about 20 minutes which seems appropriate considering how busy they were. During that time, my coffee was refilled twice and then another cup later. The omelet was a nice sized portion and the marble rye toast was delicious. Definitely a good meal and maybe Ill return when its not quite so busy. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options on their menu. Dietary restrictions: Ask about allergens as they do have nuts and dairy on their menu. Parking: Lots of nearby parking. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu. Wheelchair accessibility: Step free access though the high top tables might be a problem.

Very meh breakfast for me but I am pretty picky when it comes to breakfast food. Bacon and hash browns were room temp and everything was a little too greasy and buttery for my taste. Eggs undercooked. Also when the entire restaurant is empty the only two people in the place probably don t want to sit right across from each other facing each other, awkward. Create some space! Not a bad place but I think a cafe that focuses on breakfast can do better.

We are visiting Waco and stopped by to enjoy coffee and a meal. We were waiting behind a large party for about 20 minutes. No one greeted us or gave any instruction. There was a waist-level sign that said please wait to be seated so we assumed it was first come, first serve as we wait in line. We didn t mind because we saw many 2 top tables available and assumed we d be seated ASAP after the large party. Several employees made eye contact but did not say a word. When we finally got to the front of the line, an employee pointed upwards at a QR code to scan to secure our place in line. There were 43 parties in front of us. I was annoyed and really hungry, and if we had been greeted and told the queue process upon entering the establishment we would not have wasted that much time. They need to fix their signage or have a host explain the process. We left and went somewhere else and did not eat here.

The Belgium strawberry banana was somewhat ok, they use frozen stawberries not fresh, stingy with the banana (maybe just a 5th of a banana) waffle was blah. The panini was toasted bread and a dry peice of meat and not much else, fruit bowl was ok. Needless to say wont be going back!!

I went on my own to try it for lunch at around 12pm and I left after 2pm. I m not joking when I say I waited 45 minutes to get seated for it it so small of a place with hardly any tables and seats during lunch time. Then the waitress immediately took my order as she sat me down at 12:45. But I received my lunch at 1: 30pm and I also shared my table (of course they asked if I would die to lack of seats), so I spoke with the man next to me. I asked if they usually take this long and he said yes during lunch. So, if you have to go back to work or have somewhere to be don t stop there for lunch or you will get stuck there for hours. The food was like making myself a sandwich at home. Will definitely not try again during lunchtime. Not sure if I d give it another try. I wasn t able to do many pictures for I was so upset at myself for waiting 45 minutes for a table.

People here are always friendly food is delicious! Our go to place for some yummy breakfast Edit: 3 months later we have returned and once again the food was delicious, but i will say the wait time was crazy ridiculous. We signed up on the waitlist and it took about 35 minutes to get called, which is reasonable, but once we were seated and they took our order, it took almost an hour to receive our food! We honestly thought they forgot about us. We also noticed that people who were seated after us were receiving their food before us ): other than that, customer service was still great.

Our first time here and tell you it is our last! The food was alright but the server we had was awful. She took our order and when the food came out only my husband got his food. So we asked where my food was and the guy bringing our food said that that was all on the ticket. When I asked for our server she told us it would be right out and didnt even seem concerned at all. She even came and check on everyone else at our table and how their food was but didnt ask us at all. We only saw her again to give us our check. My opinion she did not give the service that I am sure this establishment would like to have in a server. We are heading back to our regular place to have breakfast.

For some reason my initial review didn t include my notes, but since the response from the owner requested and accurate review, here you go. My husband and I both work full time and have a 5 month baby. With our work schedules and her feeding schedule, we don t make it to sit down together at a restaurant frequently. We were driving through Waco and the stars aligned with feeding schedules and we thought it would be fun to grab breakfast at cafe cappuccino (a place we d visited several times before). We called, they said the wait time was about 15 minutes. We put our name on the list. We went inside and confirmed that it would be about 15 minutes. An hour later, we have still not been seated. I can see on the waitlist that we re at the front of the line but I keep seeing both 2 top and 4 top parties behind us being seated. Finally we ve reached the point where we can no longer eat breakfast as the baby will need to be fed in the middle then go down for her nap. So we leave. It was never about the mediocre pancakes and coffee. It was about a rare morning for our little family to enjoy a breakfast out together and we missed it because your hostess made a mistake on both the estimated wait time and how she was seating parties. That being said, mistakes happen. Character shows in how you respond to those mistakes. The hostess lack of compassion and the owner s snarky response below show that lack of character. That s why I won t be back. Hope this review is accurate enough now.

Was told it was a 15 minute wait. Put in our names 15 minutes before arrival. Waited an hour. Watched multiple parties of our size behind us in line seated ahead of us before we gave up and left. I don t plan to return. I d like to note on their below response. We had 2 people+ a baby. We had 3 but we told them we could do a 2 top and were told the next 2 top would be us. They proceeded to seat 2 more 2 tops and 2 4 tops that were all behind us on their list. My review is accurate. Their service sucks

I eventually just asked for my money back because it was just not good coffee, and I paid $7. I was told we don t do that, so I then asked if I could have something else, and they said they won t do that just because I don t like it. I have never been anywhere that sold coffee that refused to give me something different if I didn t like. Needless to say, I threw away my coffee. I understand that might be their policy, but it was frustrating because I wasted my money. It kinda defeats the purpose of customer service if you refuse to fix what wasn t done well.

Weve been coming here for years. My favorite order is the sour cream/avocado omelette. The pancakes are huge... toddler hand for scale. :) My only minor complaint is that OJ costs $3.00 for a small cup. Everything else is reasonably priced, in my opinion.

With my deepest sympathy I would like to tell people not to go to this place it is a very racist place with poor customer service I waited a hour and a half to get served And I only Was seated when I said something about waiting for so long so I decided to leave and never to return no one should be treated that way especially when you are paying your money Respectfully

If you are a younger person, the things that bothered me, would not bother you. We had tobuse a bar code placed 3ft above our head to check in and tell how many, even though 2 hostesses were standing in front of us. Luckily I had an adult daughter with me. Took 25 to take our order. Great food, loved the tables. At 64, I felt everyone but the waitress decriminalization and looked down on me because I did not know what to do. I am from a small rural town. We dont use bar codes and apps. When u asked the male and female hostess what happened if someone could not use app, they shrugged their shoulders. When I finally asked someone if we could order food, she told me, I am a hostess, I dont take orders. I had to ask, Could you get our waitress? snotty attitude. Parking: Lots of parking

Local recommended this joint and totally nailed it. We came at a great time as it wasn t too busy and we sat down almost immediately and were greeted by friendly staff who provided us hot coffee. We ordered the Cassies omelette and the Mexican mash, minus the sausage because my wife doesn t eat meat. The waitress recommended a different choice, Bobby s Rancheros, which she thought my wife might like better because it was similar but no meat. She wasn t wrong. My wife loved it and could ve eaten another one she said. The omelette was packed full of diced ham and fantastic. Last but not least were our two side breads included with our meals, the two enormous pancakes we received, one banana chocolate chip, and the other bacon, for a small upgrade fee from regular. The bacon pancake tasted as you might expect a bacon pancake to taste- terrific, and the banana chocolate chip pancake didn t need any syrup it being so nice and sweet. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, their service prompt, and the restaurant clean and tidy. Located just a few blocks from Magnolia Farms, this is a great place to eat after, or before, you pick up your sweets from Magnolia.

I had dropped my husband at convention center for classes and was just driving around before stores opened and saw this place. I was just going to get a coffee , but did sit down and looked at menu , decided to order a chocolate chip banana pancake, did not stop to think why you could get 1 , 2 or 3 and waitress said nothing. It was HUGE !! I was hungrier than I thought, knew to go was out , so ate most of it. Soooo delicious. I intended to go back , take my husband and order a different flavor. It was perfectly cooked ( sometimes big pancakes are only done on the outside , but this was great. If you like pancakes you must go here!!

It was my first day in waco and I wanted a cute cafe breakfast you can cook better eggs at home. Way too oily. Everything was pretty overpriced and with the slow service expect to get familiar with the bottom of you bottomless coffee cup. Have low expectations and you will be content with this eatery.

Today was my first time eating here and the only reason I am giving more than one star is because the side of fruit was fresh. It was an awkward experience from the moment we were seated. We were walked past several empty tables and placed all the way in the back, alone, leaving me only two options when I needed my server: either do without or get up and walk to the front. Then I was disappointed when I received my tea. It was labeled on the menu as having an option for a 3 cup french press. I selected this and received a kettle full of luke warm (though closer to cold than anything) water with a steeper, which is not what I was wanting at all. Then I tried to get excited about my food. However the philly sandwich had barely melted, American cheese after I was told it comes with cheddar and the sandwich was so salty that my daughter barely picked at it. When it came to my eggs, I was yet again disappointed. I ordered poached eggs and was given eggs which I was told were cooked in some form of cooking spray and the quality of everything else in my breakfast was just decent and not really worth eating other than the fact that I was hungry. Well, lesson learned. For almost $30 in Waco, I can get a much better lunch for the two of us.

Bad experience all around, 1st timers and they looked at us like we were lost, their eye level sign says, wait to be seated. Well, you are supposed to look up and scan the RQ code to be put on the waiting list. Anyways Girl # 1 took our drink order, girl # 2 brought them out, waited 20 minutes before girl #3 took our order. After 30 more minutes of waiting and no one checking on us, our food finally came out from person #4 (guy), not to mention it was cold. we asked girl #5 for refills, and girl #6 was quick to bring out the check again without asking if we needed anything. Never again....

Food was great quality and out in a timely manner considering how busy it was during brunch. Pretty large menu for such a small place but it makes it easier for everyone in the group to find something they like. Conveniently located by the farmers market on Saturdays and the Courthouse as well!

Horrible service and food! Don t waste your time or money, especially on the salads. I ordered a salad and was given all white pieces of iceberg lettuce (no green) with a few pieces of grilled chicken. And when I requested something else I was told by the rude manager that I d still be charged for the terrible salad because there was nothing wrong with it. I was charged for everything! They care nothing about customer satisfaction. I will never return to this place.

We stopped in last Saturday morning with the whole family. We expected a wait for our party of 12, but were seated immediately. The U shaped table made it easy for everyone in our party to talk to one another. Our server was excellent, she took our orders and our food was delivered in record time. The food was also delicious- none of of us were prepared for the size of the pancakes! Even the gluten free pancake passed the taste test.

Been here a few times, it s one of the better breakfast places in Waco. We waited about about 5-10 minutes using the check in website to check in. Service was quick to get us drinks and take our food order. After we ordered it took a bit for our food to come out. Maybe 25-30 minutes. The music kept fluctuating in volume which was a bit distracting. Also someone was messing with the lights. The lights in the restaurant turned on and off a few times but no big deal. The food was mostly very great. Mexican mash is super flavorful. Everything was cooked really well except the biscuits and gravy was cold. One single egg on the side was charged 4.05 with surprising and a bit of a rip off since a lot of the items were just barely more than that for a larger amount of food. Other than the biscuits and gravy being cold, overcharged for a single egg, and the food taking a bit to come out it was great. We enjoyed it!

After a recent unexpected trip to Waco to visit a passing family member, my wife found this wonderful spot along our way. Unfortunately, we went on a weekend where a marathon was blocking the entire area so getting there was a little tedious, but ample parking once we arrived. We were looking at the online menu on the way and I ll admit, there was some concern about it being so large. I ve found, in my experience, that a smaller menu allows the cooks to specialize in a few items while larger menus are more IHOP like with meh food since the cooks are basically an assembly line. That was NOT the case here! The omelette I ordered was delicious and pancake on the side was larger than the actual plate. It should have read pancake with a side of omelette . My wife s Belgian waffle was just as good and the waitress even offered to make my son s large pancake into two smaller ones, which was very nice. Speaking of the staff lighting fast service as soon as we walked in the door and just as you would expect in Texas, service with a smile. I could not have been happier dining here and even though we drove all the way from Austin, I would gladly return.

The food here was pretty good and I might go again, but the wait times were incredibly long for how busy things were inside. I highly suggest you get-in-line on the website before going over unless you want to stand around a half hour. They had a good selections of tea and the banana nut French toast was interesting. My wife loved her breakfast burrito and it was quite large. It was a good way to start the day. If it were up to me Id knock out the half walls and add bar-style seating at the counter, then they didnt have to waste big tables on parties of 1. That said, the long wait may be attributable to going on Sunday, it seems a surprising number of restaurants in that area are closed Sundays, leaving few choices to anyone visiting the city. Ive no doubt if literally any other restaurant opened for Sunday breakfast they would do well and help alleviate the long wait times everywhere else.

Good food, slow service. Front of house seemed disorganized. As a busy breakfast came on at 9 AM, it was evident the restaurant could have carried more business if they had been more efficient seating people and taking orders. The kitchen was not slow, as once we had placed our orders, the food came out within about 10 minutes. The hostess did not know where to seat us without consulting someone else. Then it took 10 minutes for someone to ask for our drink order. The waitress should have realized we were on a time limit when we asked for our drinks in to-go cups (the barista didnt get that info). Then it took 15 more minutes to get a food order. After we were done, it took a special request, 20 minutes, and another request to get our tab and to-go boxes. A meal that usually takes about 35 minutes from start to finish took 1 hour and 10 minutes. And they didnt even seem short-staffed, except for a good FOH manager. Pancakes were good. Hot links were surprisingly good. Bacon was cooked well. My over easy egg was done perfectly. All serving sizes were a good portion. Coffee drinks needed more espresso.
