First time here and I unfortunately showed up close to closing time(5:30). My first 2 choices of food werent available, (but again, my fault for my late arrival) so I settled for brisket, green beans, and potato salad. The food came out quickly and was delicious. The brisket was very tender, the green beans were good (normally I hate cut green beans), and the potato salad was favorable. The place was clean for the most part even though my table needed to be wiped down. My chief complaint was the dirty soda fountain. I wonder if any of the employees even know how to take the nozzles off and clean and sanitize them and clean the inner nozzle. Overall, I had a positive experience.

First time here. Drove by this place a few times. Decided to finally stop in. So glad we did. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the friendly staff. Genuine too. We took a few as the menu was new to us. The staff member was patient and explained items for us. She was very helpful. I ordered brisket moist, jalapeno sausage, pinto beans and potato salad. With a Dr. Pepper of course. The brisket....delicious!!! Moist. Fatty just how I like. Needed no sauce but I tried them all. You will find your favorite like I did. The beans and potato salad were both quite good. They were out of banana pudding. So sad. But this was delicious !! We will be back for me. The staff was super great ! I love that !!

Restaurant was clean and comfortable, but the food that I got was subpar. There are way better bbq places for the price and quality in New Braunfels. I stopped to pick up a couple of sides to take to a friends. Potato salad was ok. Nothing special. Pinto beans were over-salted. I decided to try the brisket too. I got a half pound moist. Rub was decent, but there was no smoke ring and no smoke flavor. It tasted like it was oven cooked and not smoked. Also, the bbq sauce that I got was not very good or flavorful. Service was kinda slow. One nice lady with two young helpers. She seemed frustrated because the two helpers had no clue what they were doing.

I always go twice to a place before judging it and there will definitely not be a third here The Big Bibs in Austin Hwy is my favorite BBQ place I love it but the one in New Braunfels not good Brisket DRY I mean DRY the lady serving food not to nice in both occasions I have been there could deal with the Brisket being DRY but bad service twice no can t do .Will keep going to the other location but not to NewBraunsfels

We heard good things about the catfish so we decided to try it. It exceeded our expectations. They offer huge catfish filets which were cooked to perfection. The sides are good also. Give this restaurant a try. You will love it. We ate in the restaurant and the service was great.

FIVE STARS ALL AROUND! We came in hungry after finding out that the restaurant we had planned to go to was too hard to get in to. There was some kind of local festival and there were crowds everywhere. Upon walking in the front door of Big Bib BBQ, we were greeted by the friendliest team. They had just had a team member not feeling well and needed to leave early. This left them short-staffed and they were hustling to take orders and get everyone s food to them in a timely manner. They were so kind and got every order out fast. The manager and business owner were both the two working the entire restaurant. They did such a great job making every customer in the restaurant feel appreciated and cared about. BUT THE FOOD was the best! It s the best I ve had (meat AND sides) since moving to Texas! We ll be going back often and plan on becoming regulars now!

This BBQ spot is just up the street and we have never gone before until today. We regret taking so long to go to Big Bib BBQ! The food is delish, the service is amazing, especially from Miss K, and the restaurant is clean and nothing like you would expect from the restaurants exterior. We enjoyed the pulled pork, the ribs, the brisket, the chicken, the jalapeno sausage, along with the potato casserole, sweet potato casserole and mac & cheese! I must also add that they serve Kool-Aid, 2 flavors! We will definitely be back and we highly recommend that yall pay em a visit!

This was a great decision. The bbq here is top notch. From the moment you step out of your car till the moment you get back in your car you are permeated with a wonderful aroma of pure deliciousness. We had the Big Bib platter which consisted of 1 lb of each: brisket, rib tips, jalapeno sausage, chicken, and pulled pork, all smoked, 2 x-large sides, and a loaf of bread. The leaded baked potato casserole and the green beans for the side were insanely good. We ordered an additional side of cheese macaroni and collard greens. Everyone raved about the food with one lone exception, the chicken. The chicken, although juicy and smoked to perfection, lacked flavor besides the smoke. A little bbq sauce fixed that but it shouldnt have too, the meat should be the star of the show. Everything else was extremely good, including the sliced onions with pickles. On top of all that, the prices are extremely affordable. Hands down a must try if you havent already. 2 thumbs up. A repeat customer next time Im in the area. Only wish they had the turkey legs which were temporarily on hiatus.

The brisket was acceptable. The sandwich bun was average at best. The sweet BBQ sauce was acceptable -- about the taste of a basic Great Value bun from Walmart. The jalapenos were mushy and quite bitter. I would say that the best solution would be to just buy the meat there and take it home to put on a decent bun and with some fresh pickled jalapenos instead of their canned ones. Parking: Interestingly, the handicap parking is NOT the closest parking to the entrance.

Loved Big Bib since they first opened a tiny location on Austin Hwy in San Antonio. I have watched them grow over the years into exceptionally well run locations. Thrilled they are now in New Braunfels, their service, staff, and food are the very best. In my opinion the best BBQ in Texas! Brisket is phenomenal, full of flavor and incredible! Very clean and with a genuine family feel. This is heavenly BBQ. Unequivocally unequaled!

Service was dicey. Ordered catfish combo with potato salad and 1/2 chicken. Catfish is cooked when ordered. Girl who took my order was very pleasant. She yelled out catfish order but wasn t sure who was listening. It seemed the cook was sitting in a booth with his friend and didn t move. She completed taking my order and then processed another order. Then went over and told him about the cat fish order where he asked her if she knew how to do it. um? In the mean time, I m standing there wondering how long this is going to take. I asked her how long for the catfish and was told 10 minutes. There was a lot of back and forth conversation to process the order. Took 25 minutes for 3 items. Seriously it was like watching Moe, Larry and Shimp in action. Both chicken and catfish were over cooked and lacked seasoning. I did like that the catfish was a full filet not catfish pieces which most places serve now these days. In the end though, I felt nauseated after I ate. So did my friend who I split the catfish with. Not exactly an endorsement.

Been here a few times now. Impressed a little more each time. The BBQ is very flavorful. Ribs are great. The Sweet Potato Casserole is the best I ve ever had. It s the magnet that keeps dragging me back in there. I can t get enough of it. The brisket sandwich looks small, but when you get it you better be hungry. LOTS of meat in there. As far as I m concerned, all the big name bbq joints locally are not bad, BUT if you want a true texas welcome, amazing food made with care and purpose, all without breaking the bank - go see Mrs. K at the New Braunfels location. When the meat doesn t even need sauce to be delicious, you know it s good. Dietary restrictions: Meat is protein.. you need protein, go eat as much as you can. Parking: Ample parking for the size of the building. Kid-friendliness: Took a 3 year old and Mrs. K personally brought him candy.

I like Big Bibs in NB. I use to visit their old location at the Stetson Airport in SA. I started going to Big Bibs in NB a few weeks ago and I have been back many times since. Sometimes multiple times a week. Miss W and staff are great they greet you with a smile and warm welcomes. I can t say enough about the food. The meats are smoked well and has a great flavor. The moist brisket is top notch. Can t have enough fat on a piece of brisket . And the best of all, there is no need for sauce on any of their meats. Even though they have 4 great choices of sauce. They put lots of meat on their sliced sandwiches, unlike some of the other BBQ places in NB. Their sweet potato casserole is amazing. Their rib let s and chicken are great too. Love this place!

I really thought I was going to like this place cause I loved the previous bbq place by previous owner. As I entered the place smelled of fresh varnish on wood of entrance way. Too strong for me! As I began to order, I asked questions on what I wanted to order. The tall African American lady was extremely rude. As if I was bothering her for my order. Ugh...where do I begin. First off, the atmosphere is dreadful. Seating is uncomfortable. Brisket is gross...we ordered lean and it was anything but. Our order was wrong and had to be corrected. We came in right before closing and everyone there was fantastic. We were the only customers in the restaurant and they treated us like gold. We had brisket, ribs, backed potato, and really loved the potato casserole. All the food was great.(even at closing time) and all the empoyees and i assume the owner were all fantastic. Even sent us home with some extra meat cause they were closing for there weekend !! This place looks amazing inside! Nice, clean and great atmosphere. They just need a big colorful sign so people know to stop in. Food is excellent and took us to flavor-town. Finally made it back since the remodel and name change. Went in and ordered a family meal for 4 for take out. Pricing was $69 for brisket, sausage, rib tips (Which I ve never heard of) pulled pork and Chicken, bread snd 2 sides. Mac n cheese and potato salad. I really had high hopes that this place was going to be super good, so went in right when they opened to get Fresh cooked food . So I thought. Unfortunately that wasn t the case. The brisket was cut thick and chewy w/not much flavor. The sausage had good flavor, but to dry and tuff to chew. The Rib Tips were just not my thing. They looked like they were left overs meant for doggies. The pulled pork was dry and just didn t have a good taste overall. The only thing I liked was the Chicken and Mac n cheese. The potato salad tasted more gourmet than traditional BBQ Potato salad. However, the Chicken was good, but is Chicken really BBQ? My husband liked the Chicken and rib tips, but agreed that the sausage, brisket and pulled pork were just an overall bomb. I will say the pricing for all the food was reasonable. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is very well done. I just really wished the food was better in texture. I will go again and dine in to know if it was just an Off day for the food.

First time stopping in since they opened ,service was great ,food was phenomenal. we ll definitely be back again . And the atmosphere is bright and cheerful.
