This is one of my familys favorite restaurants. Everything that comes out of chefs kitchen is delicious. Every plate beautiful and enjoyable. Equally enjoyable as the food is the way it feels to be at Alexs kitchen. We adore this family because they live their kindness. Hospitality is of the highest order and we are always so grateful when we leave. Never hungry, always loved. Their upscale regional Italian restaurant is just around the corner on Cartwright and we do recommend reservations Thursday through Sunday. We go all the time but we visited again on Sunday for brunch which was amazing. Brunch is the best kept secret on their menu. Weve been dining here for years and only just found out about this. Our server Juan took excellent care of us and he is always delightful. I had the eggs Benedict which were served in classic perfection with smoked salmon. My wife had chicken and waffles that were surprisingly savory to balance out the delicious sweet. We were going to skip dessert but literally couldnt turn down the limoncello cake, and we are so glad we didnt. I highly recommend the Oysters Rockefeller and Beef Empanadas to share with your table. They were executed beautifully and completely delicious.

We went Friday night for thr first time and had a great experience! Ordered the Garlic bread and Chicken parmesean. The food well well seasoned, portioned and fresh. Service was excellent and the Limoncello cocktail was very refreshing. Cant wait to try weekend brunch and other menu items!

3 couple each celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Alexs Kitchen. Our server, Juan attended our every need. He was wonderful. When I made the reservation I asked if they could suppy an Italian Champagne that was not on the menu. When we were seated Juan brought out the perfectly chilled Asti Spumonti. Exactly what I requested. He was very attentive to refilling our flutes and being close by checking on our requests. The appetizers, and main courses, were cooked perfectly and delicious, as usual. To our surprise, at the end of the meal each couple was served a slice of cake, with a lighted candle, and Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. If I could, I would give Alexs Kitchen, andJuan, 10 stars for a perfect evening for our 60th wedding anniversaries . Pat and Larry Minuto

Took my mom her today for her birthday lunch, weve never been before, and the food was excellent!! We shared a Caesar salad, which they split for us, then I got the pasta Alex and she got the pasta primavera both were exceptional. However, the reason for why we will go back is the service and the atmosphere which were equally as excellent as the food.

Higher price means a higher quality of food and that s exactly what you get. Do not go here on a Friday or a Saturday evening. They will be packed and it s not a positive atmosphere to relax and enjoy the food. Go any other day for lunch or dinner.

Had dinner here last night. We ordered garlic bread and the crab appetizer for the table- a great way to start the meal. My chicken piccata was perfect- cooked and seasoned just right. Everyone else enjoyed their meal. The service is very good. Looking forward to the next time.

2024 we went again yesterday. It s very relaxing inside. Lots of windows. Instead of crab cake, I tried the quail and friend had salmon salad, lobster bisque, and we shared the dessert. Coffee was fine. It was not busy but we had a wonderful time. Service was good. 2022 We like this little Italian restaurant with dainty dishes. All of us ordered the crab cake because it s light. Personally I d like it more if it has warm amber lighting.

First time here and was VERY impressed !!! If you want a nice place to go and enjoy a very good meal without having to travel Hwy 6...this is it. You can sit outside or inside,enjoy a beverage of your choice while eating. Not a big restaurant but very clean with polite and courteous staff. They have enlarged it and has more sitting room. The food is still excellent !! Its nice to have a place so close to home and still have a very nice out !! I loved the Shrimp Scampi !! I dont think they have outdoor seating now. The absolute best Italian restaurant in Houston and the surrounding area. All menu items are delicious. My favorite is the Pasta Alex. Who would have ever thought crab meat and sausage go together?? Apparently they go together like Baseball and America!! The desserts are to die for, please try the recotta cake, it melts in your mouth and is always prepared fresh. You will not regret eating here. Its amazing.

Finally got to try Alex s Kitchen after hearing some many good things about it. It did not disappoint. It s cozy place with white table cloth setting great for a date night or you can sit at the bar for a quick bite. I got the Waygu burger cooked medium and it was melt in your mouth soft! To wash it all down I had a nice old fashioned. Definitely a place to try if you haven t, I ll definitely be back.

I went here 4 the 1st time on Mothers Day. My Aunt loves this place. I ordered the Grilled Red Snapper w/ mushroom risotto, sautéed shrimp, grilled asparagus w/ a white wine sauce. I was a little disappointed in the portion size of the snapper & serving portion of the risotto. The portions I thought were a little small. Also the snapper tasted just steamed / bland w/ no taste or flavor b 4 the white wine sauce was added. The highlight of the dish ( 4 me ) was mushroom risotto. It was very tasty & flavorful. Im not a vegetable guy so I gave my asparagus 2 my Mom. Would I come here again ? Yes

Super friendly staff and bartender. Food was excellent. The fried green tomato was the only dish I wasnt really a fan of. The sauce was great but I wished they slice the tomatoes thinner and then fry it, the only place Ive had good fried green tomatoes was rouxpour, and they dont serve it anymore . The other dishes we ordered were amazing. We had the seafood pasta, the snapper, Brussels sprouts, and the waygu burger, the carrot cake and chocolate cake.

Ill edit this review another time, but for now, Ill just say we were surprised to find that what was an expected average Italian restaurant turned out to be awesome. We were grubby after a hike at a local park. Others looked like they were coming after church. Nobody glanced our way or said a word, but I felt a wee bit too casual. For some reason, this turned out to be a 3 course meal, including wine, dessert and appetizers. The calamari was the best in town and included some fried veggies (tempura style). We each had a separate seafood entree, and both were prepared perfectly. Desserts are made in-house, and we polished one off even though we were stuffed. Wine selection was decent. The wait staff handheld the large number of tables with competence and without fanfare. They were very responsive. We will definitely be back.

My wife chose this restaurant for her B-day dinner, out of all the nearby restaurants in the Sugar Land area. If you haven t been there, I highly suggest you to give it a try! The food is exceptional! The prices are high especially for lunch (no lunch menu). For dinner on par with similar restaurants, however, location and atmosphere are not on par with similar white table cloth restaurants. Atmosphere improved after the renovation. Due to the location and cost for lunch I only go when others really want to go. Would likely patronize weekly or bi-weekly if there were reasonable lunch prices and/or discounts for Senior Citizens.

Food is usually excellent, however, tried the Waygu burgers today and they were horrible! I live less than 5 minutes from AK and started eating my burger as soon as i got home. Buns were wet and soggy. Meat looked like pre cooked frozen patties from store and didnt taste any better. They forgot to put the bacon on my husbands burger and the fries were just regular fries with no seasoning. Brandanis and Chilis make a much better burger. I was so disappointed that I threw it away. Also shrimp for fried green tomatoes were not fresh.

This small resto in the corner of look abandon shopping center is a hidden germ for sure. They are comparable to 5 stars restaurant on food quality. I always like their linguine pescatore, taste amazing though it is a bit pricey for a standard daily meal. They do play with quality instead of quantity. Currently they are still small this dine in will be a challenge, they plan to renovate, hope to make it bigger. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone Add: Atmosphere- They renovate make it bigger but still super noisy. I am asian, they treat me well. Upon contacting the establishment, I encountered a lack of warmth and hospitality from the gentleman who took my call. Being an ardent fan of key lime pie, I hold specific preferences for its flavor profile. Hence, I inquired about the pies characteristic balance between tartness and sweetness. To my surprise, the gentleman retorted, Thats for you to determine. This response struck me as impolite, given that a restaurants staff should ideally be adept at describing their offerings. The casual dismissal of my inquiry left a disheartening impression. Despite my reservations, I proceeded to order two slices of the pie, amounting to $20 . Regrettably, upon tasting the pie, its excessive tartness proved overwhelming and rendered it inedible. Both slices ended up in the bin, an unfortunate waste. Reflecting on the experience, I cant help but feel that had the initial exchange been more informative and courteous, I would have chosen a different dessert. This encounter has left me with a sense of disappointment, leading me to conclude that I will not be extending my patronage to this particular establishment in the future.

I ordered a to go because I kept seeing this place and heard it was good and Alexs Kitchen did not disappoint I was dressed in regular street clothes but the staff and waiters were treated me well and with respect Even though I got to go, the inside was nice atmosphere! Awesome tasting food! Well plated. I shouldve taken pictures, but i was too busy eating. I had the crab cakes and linguini pescatore. The crab cakes were good, but the linguini was very good. The shrimp, squid, mussels, and linguini was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Both, the appetizer and entree were presented well. I dont understand all the comments about the wine. Its not like they had an extraordinary list not were the prices reasonable. They have a good selection. I enjoyed the house chianti with the meal. But the food was well worth a return trip to try their other dishes.

Fantastic, consistent dining. Whether dining in or doing takeout, my experiences at Alex s Kitchen have always been positive. Even nicer to dine-in now that the expansion has been completed. While a relatively more limited menu, Alex s has their dishes dialed in. If you re a pasta lover, give the Pasta Alex a shot, it s my go to. Other offerings are equally as good. Between appetizers, drinks, main course, and dessert, you should expect to spend $40+ per person. Of course less if you are just getting a main dish. Pictured is the Pasta Alex ($22).

Went for Mothers Day made a late reservation and they were able to accommodate us. So happy to have this establishment in our neighborhood so we want have to go far just to have a nice dinner. Nice cosy restaurant, great for families, and big or small groups. Server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the fried calamari, and garlic bread for appetizers. Chicken Alfredo, and grilled shrimp risotto for entrées. To end off the meal, I had the warm fruit tart with vanilla ice cream. The fried calamari had fried lemon, and fried green beans in the basket too. I like the combi as it would be boring to just have the calamari in it only. However the marinara sauce was a little watery. The garlic bread was really good. Garlicky, buttery, and herby. The Chicken Alfredo was good. Good proportion of chicken pieces to pasta. Chicken was cooked well. The grilled shrimp risotto was great. The shrimps were huge, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The vegetables in the dish were fresh. Risotto was perfect too. Absolutely love the dish but the plantain chips could be left out. The dessert wasn t what I expected. The warm fruit tart was actually fruit(s) jam in a crust. The crust was really good. The vanilla ice cream on top melted well on the warm crust. So delicious. I would come here again for the yummy food.

Its a nice local place that serves mainly Italian, steak and seafood dishes. The food is delicious and the servings are plentiful if that is what you are looking for. I went there and asked the person seating the only couple of people there if he had a to go menu for me to take with me.....you would have thought I just insulted him. He looked down very angrily and told me Online only then turned his back on me. I live close by and do not have online. He could care less. Either go online or forget it. Well , as they say...firt impressions are everything. I would rather get a can of spegetti Os than pay $20 for a tiny plate of there slop. Wont be gping back ...EVER. The fettuccine and country fried steak was excellent. The tiramisu was the most delicious tiramisu I have ever had (and I have had many). The creamy texture and richness of the mascarpone was unbelievable. I could have eaten it as the main course. The staff were very friendly and professional and didnt make us feel rushed even though we came closer to closing time and were finishing up as they closed. My sweet man found this place online in a search. Let me say, we were very happy! Absolutely beautiful restaurant. Staff was super friendly, could definitely answer every question we had. We had the apple salad and garlic bread. The salad was light, fresh and flavorful! Creamy gogonzola, apples, vinaigrette...yum! For our entrées, he chose the ciopinno, and I had the shrimp with corn risotto. I asked to switch out the veg for brussel sprouts and Im so glad I did!! The sprouts were roasted perfectly. The shrimp were massive. Flavors all blended well. We were both happy with our meals! Unfortunately, we were too stuffed to try dessert today, but we will next time! Id read that reservations were recommended and I can see why. Thankfully, we didnt need one today. We honestly cannot wait to go back!

Very good restaurant in a strip mall. The food was delicious and the service was great. I forgot to take a photo so I took one after I started digging in. I got the parmesan chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the noodles didnt need any extra seasonings. Other people got the sea bass and salmon and were very pleased.
