Terrible taste in the food, unpleasant salad, and the dishes are so hot that they can cause an accident especially if you have children, apart from everything it is expensive, I ordered a chili stuffed with cheese and they literally gave me a poblano chili all crushed with h yellow on top never I would go again. P.S: the place is too dark.

El Banquete is a small restaurant on the side of the road in Midland Texas, it is a humble restaurant but nevertheless cozy, their breakfast is good, I ordered a ham omelet because they did not have bread to accompany my eggs rancheros, their prices are standard, very good background music, its atmosphere is calm.

I recommend the Mo s or an Asado burrito smothered in both the green and red sauce. Christmas as called in NM. It is very spicy most times. I mean perfectly spicy! This has become my favorite place. Everyone is very nice.

Came here for breakfast only, breakfast burrito eggs and bacon is good, decent size for one person. The atmosphere is nice, a little dark inside and a nice smell, reminds me how churches smell in Mexico. Ladies bathroom is decent, men restroom isnt that good, toilet area and ceiling need to be replace or fix, place needs a little more maintenance but other than that food is good, green salsa and chips very good too. Looking forward to go back.

We visit Midland every so often and decided to try a different restaurant. The waitress wasnt the friendliest (neither were the other staff members) but the service was fairly fast. I ordered a water since I dont really drink much with my meals, I was brought a bottled water. And we were charged for it, if I wanted bottled water I would have asked for it. I ordered cheese enchiladas, but I cant and dont eat spicy food so I asked the waitress which sauce was the least spicy. She said she didnt know but they could do half and half sauces on the enchiladas. My husband a plate which said it came with a scoop of guacamole. He almost wasnt surprised when the plate barely had any guacamole. So he ordered a side of guacamole, we got that and it had more lettuce than avocado. My enchiladas were so spicy I could barely eat or enjoy them. I feel like Im Mexican restaurants children tend to order enchiladas but these are not for kids. These are for people who only like to taste chile and not their food. In no way did we enjoy our meal. We definitely wont be going back there. Oh also the outside of the restaurant is just disgusting they should really do some cleaning. And when we first walked in I could not even tell if it was an Italian or Mexican restaurant. I was definitely confused lol because I could have sworn we were walking into a Mexican restaurant.

If youre someone who grew up with mom saying Tenemos frijoles en la casa!, this is NOT the place for you. I am not from the Midland area but my fiancé and I came here for a wedding from the DFW area. When you walk in, the restaurant looks like your typical mom and pop Mexican restaurant. Theres sombreros on the wall, giant plants in the middle of the seating area, and plastic veggies everywhere. They even play authentic music! I ordered the chilaquiles verdes and my fiancé ordered the burrito asado and the potato and egg burrito. When I got the chilaquiles verdes, the very oily tortilla chips were smothered in a green sauce that tasted like fake enchilada sauce with a bunch of cheddar and mozzarella cheese but no egg! Traditionally, chilaquiles come with an egg. Its what makes it breakfast food. I personally like a meat with my chilaquiles as well since my mom would serve us chilaquiles with shredded chicken when I was growing up. So I requested chorizo but was told they were all out of chorizo and I had to settle with ham. It was honestly so disappointing for me. I felt like they made the sauce spicy to hide the fact that it tasted like OTBs enchilada sauce and we all know thats not authentic Mexican food. The potato and egg burrito was delicious despite the fact that it came with jalapeños although we were not told it would have jalapeños (my fiancé hates spicy food). As far as the burrito asado... Well... Lets just say I dont think this restaurant knows what asado means. My fiancé opened the burrito worried that it would have jalapeños just like his potato and egg burrito but instead we found some type of pulled meat smothered in what looked like red enchilada sauce and jalapeño seeds. As a Latina, I was offended at the fact that they would call this an asado burrito. For those that dont know, asado in Spanish means grilled. This was definitely not a meat that was grilled but instead was destroyed by what tasted like the red version of the fake enchilada sauce I had with my chilaquiles. I only give this restaurant 2 stars because they were nice enough to accommodate a replacement burrito for my fiancé so that he wouldnt have to eat whatever his asado burrito really was.

This definitely fits the bill of hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. With just a few parking spots in the front, youll likely need to park in the dirt lot in the back and walk in the back entrance. They have great chips with a spicy green chile salsa. There are a few good things on the menu, but most people come here for the pork chop special on Wednesdays. They also have complimentary dessert if youre early enough and you order a plate off the menu. Great food!

I went to this place cause a co worker recommended to me. This enchiladas are awesome, the red sauce gives an after taste that you can find only in a few places! Im not from around here and i always leave feedback to places that can earn it, and this one does it! If they replace that TEX MEX Cheese for a Queso Fresco it will be even better! Wanted to try something new and Im pretty sorry I did. Though our waitress was quite friendly they were extremely short staffed and there were only 2 waitresses in this busy place . They were having to play cashier and waitress and because of this we waited forever for everything. We ordered queso and it basically tasted like flour, definitely not worth the $4 especially for the small size. The servings of rice and beans were so small, literally like 2 tablespoons worth. I had red enchiladas and the taste of chili powder was quite strong. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Some people may look at this as a hole in the wall type of restaurant, but let me tell you, these types of restaurants are the absolute BEST ones!! Im so glad that I found this place, I had the breakfasts plate with the two enchiladas with two eggs on top, beans, and potatoes. That plate was so FLAVORFUL! We stopped at Midland on our road trip and we stopped at this restaurant. I immediately liked the atmosphere that it provided. However, we had been waiting for 15 minutes until we got attended.One of the waiters ignored us when we tried (politely) getting her attention. Our waiter did not provide any information about the dishes nor made us feel welcome. Bottom line: The food was alright. The service needs a lot more improvement.
