It s always a great experience when i go to this Itacate location. The staff are so nice, outgoing, and know how to have fun in their job. You can tell that they like what they do. My personal favorite is the Mini reketes with salsa verde, and a over easy egg. I quenched my thirst with their delicious natural lemonade. Would definitely come to this location again. The first picture is what I got, and my friends got the (2nd picture) Enchiladas san miguel, with a side of (3rd picture) chicharrón en salsa verde. The other friend (last picture) got the Atácate which is a pupusa original, pork Gordita, taco a la plancha, and taco lloraras.

We are frequent customers of Itacate! Lately, delivery orders have disappointed. Placed an order today for delivery and called the restaurant to request sauce and condiments be added to the order. Let them know in the past it has not been provided, lady that answered phone said We don t see comments but provided no solution. Regardless, told her that was reason for my call. Disappointed once again, no condiments delivered with our order today even after comments and a phone call.

My food was amazing. Their chilaquiles are delicious and one of the best I have ever eaten. I have to say that I was especially impressed by the way they communicated with each other for one goal; To serve people and make us feel at home. My hats off to all the employees and the owners of this restaurant. I will definitely come back soon.

There is no one to receive you and explain their system! It was our first time, we arrived, we lined up to order (its self-service like taco palenque or Mexican appetizers) my husband and my child sit at a table. When we almost got to the checkout, a young woman approached us to tell us that if we wanted to eat there we had to put ourselves on a waiting list and that my husband and my son would get up from the table! Embarrassing moment!

First impression: welcoming, friendly & good location. Food: good portion, cooking style authentic, excellent cafe de oja. Pricing: each dish was moderately priced comparatively to similar dine-in restaurants and a value for the quality of service and food. I look forward to visiting again and inviting friends and family.

The food was good but the service was a ok. They have you sitting down in a waiting area to get in line to order then you go get a table. If no one is there monitoring the waiting area you ll have people just walk in, skip everyone and go order. The place is pretty small so hopefully you go on a slow day other wise you ll be sitting should to shoulder with another customer.

I recently ate at this location for my graduation brunch. The food was good until I found a HAIR in my plate. At first I thought it was mine but as I pulled it out it was very long it wasnt mine. II told the waiter about the incident but she just suggested to get me another replacement for my meal. As I turned to look at the kitchen staff none of them were wearing hair nets. I wish their cooks and staff would be more mindful of other people by wearing hair nets. If you eat at this location the food is great, just watch out for any hairs.

The presentation and the flavor of the dishes is way better than the place itself. The menu is not too crowded and overwhelming but they do have great options. Their food deserves a better restaurant look in my opinion. Will comeback to try other dishes from this establishmemt.

Service was decent, but I was very disappointed with the food. Tried the tacos a la plancha, and they hardly had any meat in them. It looked like they just sprikled a little bit on the tacos and added a tiny slice of avocado. The caldo tlalpeño was also very skimpy, it had a couple of tablespoons of chicken, at the most. Would not recommend.

Great food super tasty! I was really impressed; was not expecting such high quality from a place with just counter service. Tried several items, and standouts for us: the pupusas were great (especially the one with poblano raja); the caldo tlalpeno was tasty and not too heavy with cheese, and the rice that comes with it is outstanding enough to enjoy on its own; the cazuela with chicharron in green salsa was super flavorful and tender; and the lemonade with cucumber and celery was exceptional, loved it. Staff were really nice, too. I d be at this place all the time if I lived in the Valley, but unfortunately was just visiting.

First time there an never going back. I was very disappointed when I ordered. I thought it was weird when I ordered it came out over $30 I didn t question it. It was my first time and didn t calculate for myself what it would cost. When I asked the person taking my order if I can add whatever I wanted to the chilaquiles I said I wanted to add chorizo and an extra pancake. This girl thought I wanted a whole other plate. (I was just trying to order the Gallito plate) And when they were bring me my 2nd plate I was a little confused because I thought what they had first brought me was mine. Then she went back looked at my order then try to explain to me because I wanted an extra pancake that why the total was so high. When what I was wanting was a Gallito with an extra pancake and if they can add chorizo to the chilaquiles. i didn t want an extra chilaquile plate! the girl at the counter needs to listen to the person ordering especially if we are asking questions about a plate. Thank you for over charging me and assuming everything was charged correctly.

Many options on the menu but we tried and shared the Chilaquiles Reketes with both red & green sauces as for the omelette we kept it simple with just chorizo but much more can be added to customize. You order at the counter, there is very rich pot coffee, they have chilaquiles that you can add the ingredients you like (each thing with an extra price) and if you dont know what to order, there is an ATÁCATE dish with 4 pieces, a Pupusa, a gorditas, a taco of flour and a taco of desebrada (although I felt that the size of the things were a little small)

Review №94

The chilaquiles are delicious, but the chicharrón gorditas in green and red sauce NOT so much. The chicharrón has a lot of fat and is very hard, and they also charge you for the sauce that the chicharró gorditas have in sauce, whether red or green, that is, the plate of 4 gorditas costs $9.99 plus 0.59 to 0.75 cents for each gordita, for the sauce. The stew does not include the sauce in the price and it is not mixed together, that is, they only add a splash of sauce to the dry pork rinds and thats it. And if you order onion or tortillas for the chilaquiles, they charge you everything separately, EVERYTHING. Today, September 22, I bought several things and a mini Rekete to pick up almost before closing and they didnt give me chicken, nor did they give me a receipt.

This Mexican food restaurant has very good food options for people of all ages. We went there for breakfast, it was almost empty so food didnt take long. The menu is very appealing and extensive. They have enough a self serve with salsas and some salad.

They have a cucumber-celery lemonade that was crisp and refreshing. Other than that the food is bland and mediocre. Nothing special from whats already offered at countless other restaurants here. Fries were soggy and super inconveniently shaped. And i found a small hair in my chicharon plate which Im hoping is and eyebrow hair or eyelash and not a nose hair :/. Would only go back for the agua fresca not the food.

This is my opinion of the place I am a weekly customer of this place, I like their restaurant concept, eating and reading the walls, I love the flavor of their sauces, the chilaquiles fascinate me, plus being able to prepare them to your liking is the best; Put a little more tortilla chips in them haha, try the cryras taco, an excellent option, just ask for it to be heated well to better enjoy its flavor.

I ordered 3 orders of tacos a la plancha to-go. The person taking my order repeated the order back to me correctly. When my son picked up the order he was charged for and only given 2 orders of tacos, which we had already waited 30 mins for. Sorry but never again. Even if the food is good I would give it 2 stars for not inputting or processing my order correctly. By the way the mexican sodas are almost $5 each ($4.89), 1/2 the price of what an order of tacos costs. Thats too expensive to pay to get an incorrect order at the end.

Excellent service and delicious food, just like their first branch in the Valley, they continue with a service of 10 and the food of 100, highly recommended. Vegetarian options: My sister is a vegetarian and unlike many restaurants here she has the option to eat and enjoy their unique dishes and flavors.

The food is very delicious but I placed my order, there were four of us, my son got his order and he was waiting for me to eat. After about 3 minutes I told him to eat and thats how my husbands orders from my other son arrived and I just saw how They went and left food for another table that arrived after us and I still didnt have my plate so I was the last of my family and the other table to receive the food and the truth is I feel disappointed since the food was good

Great place for pupusas, however I m little disappointed with the quantity of meat on the taco plancha more shredded Iceburg lettuce than anything. Expressed this to both waitstaff however both did nothing to rectify it just passed it along to the cook staff. The cucumber celery aqua Fresca is delicious.

Coming from a traditional Mexican cooking household I will give my honest opinion. Had tried this place in Mexico, but here in the US It doesn t have the same flavor I was expecting. I had the flautas and had no flavor, had one popusa found it a bit salty for my preference. You can probably find same food in la pulga in Alamo or Mission at a cost of the price .overall place was nice and new. Try it at least once, maybe you will like it!

The customer service is good but it needs to improve. They dont come to your table to see what is offered. They just pass by and tell you everything is fine. They dont offer you more drinks or sauces. The place is a bit austere but the decoration is nice.

Love this place, one of my faves in the 956! New Trenton location literally in prime location for North McAllen people, place is super cute and trendy. Amazing breakfast/brunch options (everything from chilaquiles, molletes, classic breakfast to pancakes), best chicharrón en salsa hands down. Just wished they were open past 4PM for dinner options.
