I always read reviews before going to new place and that was my mistake This time I did not read the reviews because of how hungry I was. Don t bother going here I asked for large jollof and chicken. I got one piece of chicken in a large plate of Jollof I also ordered fried rice and beef and I specifically asked if there was going to be more beef than a small plate. The server said yes of course When I opened my takeout, over seasoned fried rice and two pieces of meat that were too hard to chew . I regret spending $50 on crap in this place.

DONT EAT HERE!!! Thought the meal was going to be delicious. But I was unfortunately disappointed. The portion size was small, the jolloff rice was bland, gave us all drum sticks, waited an hr for overpriced meal, SPENT $50 FOR 2 MEALS employees didnt know how to print off receipts, nothing on the menu was available. Worst african food I ever had. NEVER EAT HERE.

As a fellow Nigerian and someone who has been to many establishment this was just poor. If you re looking to get not a full plate this is the spot. What I got was not even enough for a toddler ( 2 year old) you re gonna get little to no real meat or egusi eith baby meat and tiny ball on pounded yam even on a large plate which can only feed a small small child . It won t even be enough for 1 severing . DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY- to many good places that won t short your meals for the cost.

Service: 4 stars! I had a really great experience with the staff, they were friendly, I took a star off because they forgot an item on my order Food: 3 stars. I ordered beef egusi (and fufu) and plantain. The egusi was skimpy and pretty spicy. The beef definitely seemed old and/or overcooked. The plantain... maybe its just a taste preference for me but it wasnt very sweet and too soft for me.

I ordered food from this restaurant through door dash, on 05-10-2024, waited for almost 2 hours, the driver called me that he got there and they didnt have what I ordered. I was very hungry. If I could rate a zero review, I would. Bad customer service experience for a first time order. Anyways door dash refunded my money.

Now I understand why people request zero or no star option for reviews. One star is way to much for how horrible this lady s customer service is. I read reviews of bad customer service but ok food, so I decided to still try it anyways. Mistake! The horrible customer services and rudeness was beyond what I expected. This lady has ZERO phone etiquette, and seemed mad that I was ordering a lot of food. My friend said the lady owns the restaurant, but I m finding that hard to believe. She looked like a sad human being that did not want to be there. It s hard to put in words how rude and sad she was. Now for the food, it was horrible. The chicken and Suya taste like pure salt; it s not edible at all. I don t understand how someone will taste that and still sell it? The egusi and jollof is bad but edible. Meat pie does not look or taste like meat pie either. Please take your money somewhere else. Never will I ever go to this place again.

This was my first time eating Nigerian Food and I was excited. I researched a few places, but decided this was the one I will try first. I ordered the regular size chicken with jollof rice. Ive heard so much about it that I was ready to have my 1st experience. I also ordered the grilled tilapia. As I waited in the dining area I noticed there was alot of flies flying around. At 1st I wanted to dine inside but with all those flies I knew it would be impossible to enjoy the meal. When I received the food I was kinda surprised to only see one chicken drumstick so I asked how many were included with the large order and I was told 2 drumsticks. 2 drumsticks and some rice for $19 is not suitable in price. So now on to eating. The jollof rice was mediocre to say the least ,but the sauce over the chicken was just ok. The Talapia was not pleasing at all to me. The first reason was is was too, too spicy. I like spicy food but this was on a whole other level. I may be new to Nigerian food but not to other countries in Africas food. And over all the Talapia didnt taste like talapia to me. So this was not a pleasant experience for me. Maybe they had an off day or I just need to try another Nigerian restaurant.

Restaurant is slowly going towards shutting down. Either Covid killed it or the poor cooking. Most items on the menus pictured in the reviews from 1 to 5 years ago are no longer available. A very small simplified menu is what remains. Pictures of the foods on the current restaurant menu board depict way bigger sizes than you will receive. For example the picture of the chicken drumsticks shows several legs of chicken but you only get one drumstick. No longer a sit down style restaurant instead you will receive all your food in take out containers to sit in a silent space with no music or atmosphere. Food is tastes like it is mostly microwaved so it is dry and tough. But it still takes a long time to get your food. We waited over an hour. Some food was hot others like the rice were cold. Portions are very small to go container size. Food is over spiced.

Food was mostly good but the portions are extremely small. I ordered 2 large plates beef and goat, 2 Sorrell (Hibiscus) drink and Stew. Plates were $20, they misunderstood my order and gave me an extra beef plate. Both the Goat and Beef was extremely tough as it had been pan fried til it was hard then put in sauce but was too caramelized to soften up during simmer. Fufu casava, spicy sauces and the sides were extremely good. Stew as labeled was just thick broth with nothing in it, was good but seemed like just the sauce from the beef put in a plastic cup. Waited almost a half hour to get food and portions came out in tiny little styrofoam boxes, less then half what you would get at a box lunch place like L&L or Panda Express. Because of the mistake in an extra plate it was almost 80 dollars before tip! Edit: Looking at the pictures of the food from other viewers after writing this review I realize I got a third of the meat pictured in them, 1 star

Worst ever plate I ever got for my money from anywhere. I wonder how they got 3.6 in reviews. Jollof rice was dry from repeated microwaving, plantains were dry. Presentation of the plate seemed like they were trying to hide the dried out rice with dried out plantain. I paid $40 for the plate. I was too dumbfounded to complain because I didn t think any reasonable person would serve someone stuff like that for money. I would never return here. I like to patronize Nigerian businesses but they need to definitely do better! See picture above if in doubt ..and that was exactly how my plate was when I tossed it in the thrash at the store.

The lady at the counter was very RUDE as heck!!! First time eating here and wanted just egusi and fufu. She asked what meat and I asked what are my choices? This is my first time here. She grabbed a menu and slammed it on the counter. I dont know why she did that. Oh I know why, they were about to close in 30mins. I didnt take the menu I just got another one from where she had gotten it from.I ordered a large. For 20 bucks, this is what I got. I didnt realize it until I got to my destination because I would have taken it back. I was given two things of fufu for a half cup of egusi and a hunk of horrible old beef. The egusi was good and the beef was horrible. This had to be a small order that I was charged for a large.

I was concerned that 1 chicken leg wasn t enough but it was! Matter of fact it was so large I had leftovers. The Fufu took a minute to get used too but when I broke off pieces and added sauce it was delicious. The lady serving us gave us a few of the donuts and they were awesome. Tasted like they had plantains incorporated into the mix. Delicious! She only had 2 meat pies and I m glad we purchased both! Outstanding crust and mildly spicy meat mixture. It was a drive to get there but I ll be back, Next time my sister in Wylie Tx wants and order as does her daughter. So when I head that way again I ll be getting 3 different menu items. Going to get the egui plus goat and fish entree. Good location, clean and flavorful fresh food. Thanks Ray B for the recommendation. Perhaps you should be a food influencer, you re now 4/4. Lol

Today was my first time visiting this place. And it will be my last time too. I did some research several times before visiting. I read numerous comments. I came into the place and waited for a minute thinking someone would hear the door open. Finally I rang the bell on the counter this lady came from the back on her cellphone trying to talk to me and the person on the phone. I am smiling and trying to tell her this was my first time here and I heard about this place and would like to check them out. I started asking questions about the menu on the wall, she was kind of rude with explaining it to me.( Some old tall lady) I could tell that I was getting on her nerves. I had questions to ask. Anyways, I mentioned wanting the goat meat. It was like she cut me off to let me know it was 30.00 dollars. After my food was ready, I checked my bag to see what it looked like. Apparently she was being nosy in my bag. She noticed I had an extra fufu. She stopped assisting another customer at the register to ask for my bag to take one fufu out. The portion for the egusi soup was little for 9.95. You would really have to order the 18.99 for one person. I was looking inside my bag because I thought maybe some spilled out. No that want the case, However folks s\these negative comments are true. This lady should not be allowed to assist customers at all. I didnt want to let her steal my joy by acting like her. because I knew she was taking my order and going back into that kitchen. Plus, I had just gotten off work and drove over 30 minutes.. Please dont spend a dime in this place. Not even for a cup of water. I havent tried the food yet...

Do not go here! Please save your money. It s a African place not far from this place that serves way better tasting food and you get a decent amount for your money s worth. They only reason I didn t go to the other place is because THIS place was in the route I needed to go. So listen, I love African food However I stopped going to this place a few months ago but I couldn t remember why. First off, the lady that stands as the cashier is rude AF!!!!!! I can t stand her because she was always super rude. She never says hi and has a very full attitude. She almost reminds me of squidward from SpongeBob but just with more rudeness. Secondly they are pretty pricey for the amount of food they give. They will give you 1 piece of meat! For the whole meal! So no you will not be satisfied at all. Honestly she s just extremely rude with horrible customer service and the food isn t that great to be treated like that. I really wanted the food so I was still going to pay the price. When I put all my personal information in the next screen was supposed to be where I added my payment, the page just kept on scrolling. I then called the restaurant back to let them know what was happening and I got the same rude lady. She continued with her unprofessional attitude. Needless to say I didnt get any food, I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone!! No one should spend there money at an establishment that doesnt value their customers. This Place Is So Good. I Go At Least Once A Week. Chicken Is So Tender And Delicious!!!! The Egusi Soup Is My Favorite So Good With The Right Amount Of Spice!! A Must Try . I Gave It Three Stars Because The Food Is Good But Customer Service Is Horrible Especially At The End Of The Day!!

Pretty good customer service. Jollof rice taste better than fried rice. When you order the protein bowl with chicken, you only get one piece of chicken. The goat meat, chicken, and beef all taste boiled rather than fried. The plantains are pretty sweet and ripe. If you are thirsty, get drinks from the convenient store. Goat meat is pretty good though

I had an absolutely awful experience at this place. Im a GrubHub driver and I walked in and there was another customer sitting in the back waiting for her food. Shed been there thirty minutes. I went to the counter and the lady there was extremely rude and dismissive. She spoke to me and the other customer in a demeaning and condescending tone. It took another twenty minutes to get my order and the other lady still didnt have her food. No comment on the actual food as I didnt partake, but everything that was sitting out behind the counter looked cold and gross.

I usually do not like to write low rating reviews and have been debating writing this one for months, but this is needed to hopefully lead to a change. I visited this restaurant with a family member a few months ago. We walked in, were not greeted nor acknowledged in any way. When someone finally did come to the counter to take our order, an older lady, she did not smile or say hello. She asked me what swallow I wanted and when I asked which ones they offered she abruptly and hurriedly gave me one choice. (So why ask what I wanted if there was only one) As other customers walked in she smiled and greeted them and had small talk etc. When our food was ready she rang me up on the card reader and walked to the back, leaving me to pay alone. She didn t say good bye, she didn t say thank you. She didn t say anything. She in-fact never came back from the back! I guess I could have just not paid, but I don t do that! I am not sure who owns this place, but I also follow them on IG. I don t believe the person who runs the IG page is this mean, rude lady. Someone should really address this or just keep her behind the scenes. Customer service is important and no customer should be made to feel unwelcome and unappreciated.

I drove 2 hours to finally come here. I ordered two build a bowl. One with chicken and fried rice and the other with chicken and egusi. I asked for no sauce on the chickens but still put sauce on the chicken with the egusi. I then ordered the spicy goat with white rice. They gave me jollof rice instead and it was more tripe than the goat meat $24. I give a 3 because of not giving me what I asked for if I m gonna pay $24 for spicy goat then please give me some goat not 6 little pieces with the correct rice .paid a total of $50.00 including tax but I can say the food was actually still good as hell.

Customer service is terrible. They need to either train the person that answers the phone or replace her. She has no customer service training at all. I see a lot of reviews complaining about customer service. It s really true and they don t seem to be doing anything to solve that problem. You don t have to take my word for it. Just call them on the phone and you ll even be discouraged from going in.

Nope! Cleansing and customer service are NEEDED!! I will not be going back here. The one star is because I HAVE to rate something here...First off, we called to place an order or at least find out the current protocol for ordering or dining due to the pandemic no answer. After 2 attempts we entered the place, I spotted flies on some of the tables and chairs and even on the partition at the counter. We tapped the bell for service despite, and the lady came out and looked at us like she didnt want to be bothered. We went ahead and placed an order, I asked her about a particular item on the menu, she looked aggravated so I told her cancel the orders and we left.

I was so excited to finally try Nigerian food so I tried this place based on the reviews and ignored the bad ones. Lets start with why I gave 3 stars instead of 5. I called my order in to pick up. Who ever answered (June 12) was very rude but she was able to get my order. I was told itd be ready in 20min. I arrived on time. She was extremely rude and told me that they didnt have part of my order. So I stood there wondering why I was told 20min was needed. Anywho, I checked out and left. The food however, was amazing. I ordered the jollof rice, egusi, and chicken drumsticks. You only get 1 piece of chicken just in case you were expecting 2. Due to the service, Ill probably visit every now and again but Ill be shopping around for another spot.
