This place is worth five stars now that it has been rebuilt!!! Playground: Lots of stuff to tire out you hyper kid or kids Toilets: Restrooms are kinda like at isla Blanca park Dog-friendliness: Lots of room to walk your pets. Picnic area: There s a few seating areas with shade. Pretty standard for a small park.

It looks like theres a lot of fishing hooks, lines and all sorts of trash. Its not horribly dirty but needs a little more care so no one gets hurt. Picnic area: Small enough for a single party.

After years of planning and delays, this park came into being. It is a smaller park, but it offers great fishing, clean restrooms, picnic areas & playground. If fishing just make sure you plan for the tides as the Laguna Madre will come over the rocks to the shore at high tide. They need to add lights along the walkway as it would help during the morning/evening hours. One down point is the amount of trash visitors leave all over. There are numerous garbage cans, but apparently its too difficult for people to use them. It hasnt been opened very long, yet it is basically trashed, visitors need to do better. Playground: My little one likes to play here. It would be nice to see them add some more. Toilets: Some of the cleanest you will find in the park system. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome on a leash Picnic area: There is a nice covered area along the northwestern end along the water. Please pick up your garbage and take it with you or throw it in the trash cans.

Very upset with this place what s the point of having a gate with hours of operation if no one is going to be here to open the park on time. We woke up early to be here on time to go fishing and just to be parked here waiting, and the only number you can call is the city which won t answer because it s not 8am.

Im here waiting a hour past opening so I can try fishing this spot opens 6a.m. its now 7:02 and Im missing out on fishing time cause this gates still closed. Whats the point of having a gate and lock with a schedule if they dont open on time. Been up since 2 so I can fish this spot at 6 when they open so its very frustrating just being parkd here.

Its nice but they use broken up cement for erosion control and the cement has rusty rebar sticking up out of the water. Theres warning signs about walking in the water and it should be heeded because its pretty dangerous. We were going to go fishing but we didnt want to walk in the water to cast out farther because it looked dangerous. They have flush toilets a nice playground for kids and a nice picnic shelter!

Clean and simple. No shade. Easy drive up and fish kind of place. Easy wadefishing and kayak access. No boat ramp. No ammenitiea. Just saw 1 Porta-potty, picknick tables, and trash cans.

Its just ok, one Port O poddy. It would make a great Dog park for locals as well as winter Texasens. Note that there are no places to take your dog ether Port Isabel or on the Island yet the shelters here are trying to find good homes, familys and places for these unfortunate pets. So come on Port Isabel, can you make it happen? I dought it. No one of inportance reads this.

I have fished this area for many years way before it became a city/county park. Now that the citys been showcasing it for all to see, this locations been fished out. Its really sad. Everyones going, catching, and taking every fish from there. I have practiced catch n release and now its gotten to a point where you hardly even get a bite. This location is one of a very few nurseries for fish to breed and now humans have destroyed it. Thank you Port Isabel. Job well done in destroying habitat all for fame.
