Will helped me out in tiles and was very knowledgeable when explaining about the product. Another fella was over by lights and helped me locate plant lights. The employees at Sutherlands are usually good people, and Ive never had a bad experience at this hardware store.

Thank you to HomeBase employee Todd, for going above and beyond your store duties!! We were turning in the HomeBase parking lot from 50th street and ran over something that punctured our tire. While changing the tire we discover our spare was flat. Thank you Todd for helping us put air in the spare tire. You saved us a lot of frustration. We changed the flat, bought the pickets we came there for and were on our way. Also, a big thank you to the customer that stopped to help us. Very thankful and blessed to live where people still help others in need!

I stopped in the store in Lubbock on Feb 26th and ordered both an 8x8 and a 12x16 deck packages. I told them I would be back on March 16th (today) to pick them up. There was an issue in the beginning about the concrete being included but it stated so in the ad, so Todd took care of this for me immediately. My boyfriend and I show up about 10:45 this morning and went around back by 11 am to pick up. We had gotten a 20 ft truck. The young man in the yard, Steven busted his butt loading up the truck. He discovered some parts were missing and ran around the store to take care of it. When he ran down the checklist, he discovered we had the wrong pieces of wood and other items. Apparently, the person that picked the order; which they had almost 3 weeks to put together. Was lazy or incompetent or both. Because Steven had to unload the truck, repick the order and reload. We were there 3-1/2 hours for something that should have been ready when we got there. I applaud Steven for his commitment to doing the very best job for us, but the rest didnt seem to care at all as I called the front a couple of times. I spent just short of 3k on this order, to say that I am pissed is an understatement.I live near midland, so this was a 4 hour rd trip. I lived in Amarillo and bought from the sutherlands there for years. This will be the last dime they will ever get from me. Steven deserves a raise!!

Without a doubt, the owners and district manager dont care about the bottom line at least when it pertains to the Lubbock store. It is usually empty - why? No customer service whatsoever! No one seems to give a d***n that you are trying to purchase something in their store. I had asked two girls at the service counter (service - what a joke!) that were busy chatting to themselves if the trees were going on sale anytime soon since it is the middle of October. They nonchalantly looked at me with annoyed faces and told me they (management) dont tell them anything. I then went home and called the store and spoke with the assistant manager. He smugly told me I should have bought them in the summer when they were on sale. Thats not what I asked. Anyone with any kind of customer service whatsoever would have said not right now, but let me check to see if they are going to be on sale anytime soon. Not this simpleton! That would require effort and customer service.

Every time I go in and check out. All the cashiers I have to ring up my sale always have some sort of issue running the registers. Im surprised about that because of who the manager is. They really need training on how to expedite a speedy sale at the POS.

Amended. Customer service still sucks and they shouldnt carry Troy Bilt products. We now have a $400 paperweight and nothing can be done. We prefer Home Base over the larger stores, but the last time there was horrible. We spent a good deal of money on a lawn mower. The individual in that department absolutely refused to assist us at all. We were there on a Thursday afternoon and there were hardly any customers. He looked at us with disgust and turned away. We get the lawn mower home and of course, it doesnt work. It would have been nice to get questions answered, but customer service wasnt his priority. Very disappointing.

I love HomeBase! They have a great selection of nearly everything, the garden center has the best quality soils and fertilizer. I go to HomeBase over Lowes and Home Depot any day of the week. The best part about HomeBase is they actually have people that work there that are available to help. They are so kind, smiling and courteous, going to HomeBase is a joy!

Extremely disappointed!! Went in for top soil the first day it was on sale for 99cents. Was told they already sold all of it even though it was before 9am. Asked for a rain check. They said they were not issuing any for that item. Was told to come back for the next shipment in a couple days...went back again couple days later they said it still didnt come in...seriously? They sale is only good for a week. Called the store cause gas is outrageous and they told me it was gone because of all the RAIN CHECKS they had given out. Thats really messed up hence the 3 star!!

I joined the loyalty program and was sent a coupon for $20 off of a $40 purchase, as a customer appreciation. The coupon was for Dec 2 - Dec 24th. Im on disability and finally got my check late Weds the 23rd. I went to use my coupon about 3:30 PM, and they were closed. I returned on the 27th, and they refused to honor it. Am I no longer an appreciated customer?

Went for a big order of pickets and their forklift operator told us he was to busy and told us to load over 200 pickets by hand, we went back for a second time and the same operator wasn t there to lead pickets so we open the door and tried loading them ourselves untill mr. operator showed up and closed the door and decided to start something. This guy doesn t want to do his job so we got a refund and we re trying to leave until we were stopped by a cop saying, The store says you re refusing to leave as we re in a running van pulling off. If you take yourself seriously shop somewhere else.

When I visit my daughter and son-in-law in Lubbock, TX, I enjoy going to Sutherlands to pick up whatever is needed for their home improvement projects. I like the store layout, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they always have what I need in stock (okay, well they were out of the specific shingle type I needed on one trip, but other than that).

Went in for stove drip trays which the website led me to believe they had in stock, instead I had to pick up the 3 small pans and 3 rings individually, came out to more than $30, when I could get a set of 4 or 5 at another store for less than $15. If even one of the employees was wearing a mask/ wearing it properly I might have bought them but they dont take safety seriously and dont make their customers so they dont get my business.

This store is literally right down the street from my house. I went early for chick feed and soil amendments, so I parked by the garden center because I have a hurt foot. The door was locked. So I went to the main entrance and was happy to see the sign requiring masks. There were some customers and all had on masks, but the employees were another story. The cashier had hers below her nose, the man behind the help counter had his below his mouth and the girl who carried out the bags on the flat cart didn t have one on at all. All that on top of not being friendly or efficient. I rarely go here unless I am wanting to get something quickly but don t know that I will again. The last two times I left with nothing due to similar situations.

Stopped by to pick up some bee supplies and lump charcoal. They had in stock the bee feeders and supplements I was looking for. One of the staff stopped by to see if I needed any help finding anything, he was very courteous and showed me where they stock the lump charcoal and what was on sale. Store was clean, well stocked with easy parking, and short lines at the check out.
