I have been to this place so many times, but this was the worst experience. I have ever had never seen the cook Older guy name is ( Kim ) I believe with no energy and I dont know if he could even see because he keep looking at the order sheet. My wife steak should have been a ribeye but I believe she received the wrong one because there was four steak order on the table and the one she recieved was full of fat. The shrimp was not cooked long enough and I ask him to cook longer and add extra butter but he didnt so everything was under cook. When I told the lady she said the manager said that is the way that cook his orders. WOW per the Manager but if I pay $155 to eat it should be right?

The old man and Manger are very rude I ear there at least 3 nights a week I told him my son had a food allergy he still touched food together on grill the manager remakes the peoples besides me but not mine . Such a disappointment is all I can say. My husband and I took our kids out to Sho Gun tonight in Longview. My husband ordered surf and turf - he got more steak than I did and 2 pieces of shrimp ..yes just 2 pieces for surf and turf. I ordered filet steak only and got less steak than he did. Which that s my whole meal. We are regulars and are also business owners in town so waited until after dinner to say please compensate the bill because it was a new server who didn t speak good English. The owner was not pleasant, blamed inflation and only took $10 off the meal. Needless to say it s the first time in the history of ever I have left Sho Gun hungry with no left overs ..and I went there for prom in 1990. My granddaughter looked at me and said but I m still hungry. (she s 4) Worst customer service from a management perspective.

Unassuming Hibachi grill that is fancy and tacky; however, if you ask for a rare steak you.. get a rare steak. Reasonably priced, sushi was excellent, and amazing people watching when youre on business trips. I had Edgar ( or papi ), I recommend him for sass and service. Parking: Well lit, safe. Have visited Shoguns many times throughout the years and the service and food is always great. I have dined in at the hibachi tables and in the sushi cafe, service is exceptional in both areas. Ive enjoyed hot, fresh takeout from here as well and in the more than 10 years that Ive been eating here have actually never had a wrong order or an issue while dining here.

Yesterday was my birthday, & my very first time at a hibachi grill. CONS: I ordered the number 13, and I had never had lobster before. This lobster tasted like dirt. It tasted like it had sat at the bottom of the ocean for decades until it was caught - then wasnt even properly cleaned, then served. Now, my bf, who has had plenty of lobster in his life , says it was also the worst hes ever tasted. The vegetables taste like the color beige. Sad beige. Almost forgot the salad & soup they serve as appetizers. If you like mustard in your salad, get it. & if you like soup that tastes like chicken broth from the store, get it! PROS: The only things everyone collectively liked were either their steak or fried rice. (9 people) Our waitress, I cant remember her name, but she was super helpful and very attentive. She has humor and is very friendly and bubbly. So my 5 stars for the atmosphere/service were for her. I am thankful to have gone to a restaurant for my birthday, & and am happy to have a wonderful waitress who made things better. however, I will never go here again because the food is just not great. I have heard back in the day that this place was the go-to! I think people need to realize that with prices of ingredients going up, companies and restaurants are using cheaper ingredients. So while my experience wasnt the best, Im sure it is true that they were the place to go, a long time ago.

This was our first time ever to eat here and prob won t return. Beginning stuff was fine until started cooking. We ask the chef to move a steak away from shrimp because the person is allergic to seafood. So when he started to give out shrimp he proceeded to give shrimp to one person after we said she was allergic. Then my niece got white rice and we told him then he proceeded to put a full plate of fried rice on her after even when we told him she had white rice. So this place needs to make sure employees listen to if someone has an allergies to seafood and pay attention to who has what. Wasn t a great first time experience at all.

My husband and I went to this place Saturday 3-2-24 the chef was very rude to us. The only time he spoke with us he was very disrespectful, he spoke to other guest in Spanish only when they all spoke very clear English as we all spoke upon each other prior to the chef, my husband spoke with the manager and he completely disregarded my husband and told him his chef is a good chef. Showed up on a Monday night & we were told to wait 20mins for hibachi. That s fine. We waited longer than that, but we ordered sushi while we waited. Finally got sat, and were told to wait longer. After 40mins of waiting in total, we got impatient and upset. If we re told to wait to be seated, that s understandable, but we didn t anticipate waiting such a long time after being seated, especially since it was my first time trying this place. The manager took the sushi off the bill and insisted we could order, but I was very upset that I had to go get a manager in order to be waited on. Definitely a waste of time and won t go back, sad I didn t get to experience it. The host was very sweet though!

The hibachi grills have thick grease stains, the menus are sticky and clearly haven t been cleaned in who knows how long. Everything is noticeably dirty; the floors, walls, decor, windows, bathrooms, plates, silverware; everything. If it s that dirty where customers can see I don t even want to know what the kitchen looks like. They need to hire a crew to come in and deep clean everything. Unacceptable!

As a long time fan of this style of restaurant. The atmosphere has gone down hill, the place needs a major update on all the worn out dining surfaces and areas, a major deep clean, brighter lighting, paint etc. The hibachi chef was great the food was really good, the host staff was great, the server had a great attitude and seemed busy but didnt inform the chef of a food allergy or birthday we had. The overall experience of the restaurant has declined and its disappointing. Whoever owns this place please clean, paint, train staff, and rekindle the japanese hibachi hospitality experience this restaurant used to be great at offering.

Went with my family today. Service was great while we were there but the longer we sat we noticed how unclean this place was. The plates had dried sauce on them. The table was sticky and still had food from the night before (we were their first customers) the grill had food on it and the vent a hood dropped oil in my husbands soup and kept dripping beside the grill. The carpet looked as if it hadnt been vacuumed in a long while. We ended up telling our server we were leaving due to uncleanness. Please clean your restaurant. It was so disappointing. This used to be a good place. It still has 2 great chefs/cooks, but unfortunately we had a new one who has been working there for a week. How do you assign a new cook for a party of 15 people? He was quiet, had no energy and did not do what other usually do. He just cooked and left. He took a while and even the vegetables were raw. He even said he kinda not liked the job but it was a job . Staff also pressures you to eat fast and leave. As soon as they served the food we got to go boxes and the check. We understand it gets busy but that s the way it is. Will take a long break from this place. Avoid this place for parties larger than 8. The wait was too long and not worth it.

We went to celebrate my granddaughters birthday. Had a 6:00 reservations. Took over 30 minutes to get our drinks. Had to ask the waiter of the grill next to us who had been seated 10 minutes after us and had already received drinks, salad and soup about our waitress. My daughter went to the restroom and our waitress was at the bar talking. The only alcohol was 1 beer ordered at our table. The waiter at the other grill felt so bad he was waiting on us because she would leave and not come back. The chef we received basically cooked and left we laughter at the cook at the grill next to ours more than our cook. We had brought a cookie cake but didn t even cut it because she never brought it to us after we asked for it. We finally asked the hostess to get the cookie cake for us to leave. It was after 8 before we received our checks. One of the hostess was in the restroom standing in a stall talking loudly to her boyfriend about trying to down load an app on her phone to order concert tickets. My daughter in law and I were waiting on a stall to use the restroom. I finally gave up and waited until I got home. Very disappointed in the service we received.

This has always been one of my favorite restaurants. Ive been coming here for over 20yrs. But tonight was my least favorite experiences and Ive always joked with the wait staff and the chefs. The chef we had (Edgar) made it very apparent he did not like his job. He said the wait staff was slow and if I ordered sushi I wont get it until the next day. I also had my special needs son with and I understand you cant always see a disability. He kept calling my son a baby and a little girl. My son is clearly not a little girl. He stayed with these jokes the entire meal and my son was not responsive. It made him very uncomfortable and me as well. I spoke to the wait staff and then eventually the manager and he just said oh he was joking. I get that but he wasnt joking about anything else. The manager never got my name or anything. I wont stop going there because I really do love this place. The experience was unfortunate.

Not the best Japanese grill but pretty good...really good for the area. Broccoli (vegetables) were cooked last and still nearly raw. Overall, a really good experience though. Despite slight mistake on veggies, the cook was very capable and entertaining.

Was disappointed in this place. The good was fairly good, but the chef did no show at all. In fact, the only talking he even did with us was asking if we wanted more of things when he had extra, then getting snappy at us for saying we didnt want more. Also, there were no sauces given to anyone either and Ive never been to hibachi that didnt have yum yum sauce. I wont be going here again. Id rather pay that extra at a place that gives the full deal and treats us better.

Sushi was okay, food could use some variety in different flavors. Also was concerning to see the same utensils used for raw chicken, raw beef, and alll the raw different meats. The cook was awesome, he was nice our food was cooked well. Just concerning about cross contamination. Then they stick the same utensils in the butter they use. It felt like our waiter rushed us and did not give us time to look when we had just gotten the sushi menu two minutes prior. Also we had a man in our group of six who is obviously in his sixties and our waiter was pretty annoying about getting his ID. Which I get you need an ID, but how he came across was just too much. It was fun. They give you a lot of food if you do the hibachi. Most annoying part was our waiter though.

This was probably one of the best experiences weve had in Longview for food. They cook your food in front of you, the chef was amazing, and it was an overall great date. It was a date night for the two of us, but we are definitely going to bring the kiddos next time.

Food was okay. Pricey. Our waiter was wonderful. He made the experience good even though the food was just okay. He was very pleasant.
