Based on the high almost 5 star rating I had high hopes. The brisket was extremely DRY & almost grey looking. The sauce helped the meat a lot and was an average 2/5 taste nothing special. I do not know how this place is rated so highly because it s below average at best! The staff was super friendly though, 5/5.

Weeknight dinner Brisket was very dry, had to add sauce which I typically dont. Mac and cheese was fine, banana pudding was good, no bananas in my portion though. Food wasnt bad just wasnt good/great. Just a meal (shrug). Cant recommend, unless you dont want to drive 10 min farther out. Dickeys/spring creek level quality.

HEED my warning! This was my first time here. I eat carnivore diet so I m always looking for a place that sells just meat. I saw a few good reviews of this place and decided to check it out. I order 1/2 lb brisket and 3 single ribs. Total $28! I didn t immediately write it off as I figured maybe the taste is worth the price. It s not. The ribs, as someone else pointed out in another review, tasted like they had been kept in storage for a while. I honestly thought I was eating left overs from a backyard cook out that were left out for hours, refrigerated, then microwaved to heat them back up. The brisket was incredibly dry. So much so that I had to put mayo on it to help get them down. They also had VERY little smoke flavor. I would compare this to dickies BBQ, and I do NOT like dickies, but dickies ribs are better. Honestly for $28 I could ve gotten a prime rib at a sit down restaurant. Way overpriced. Looks elsewhere for BBQ.

Food: We had the ribs and brisket plate with green beans and Mac and cheese for the sides. We also had the banana pudding as a desert. This was my second time coming here in over three years. I wanted to try them again to see if things were different Ribs - they really tasted old. Almost like they have been sitting in the fridge for a while and then warmed up to serve. You can see a smoke ring but, can t tasted the smoke. I believe they are baking the ribs along with smoking them. 1 out of 5 Brisket - much of the same thing with the brisket. Tender meat but, lacked smoke and tasted old as well. 1 out of 5 Sides - the sides were not good as well. The green beans were canned in my opinion and didn t taste fresh. The Mac and cheese was flavorless and the noodles were over cooked. 1 out of 5 Desert - the banana pudding tasted processed as well. Didn t seem fresh. It was a lot of pudding with only a two cookies and no bananas. 1 out of 5 Service - the service was actually really good. Everyone was so nice. We were greeted at least twice. The chef was really nice and the servers were as well. 5 out of 5 Atmosphere - the atmosphere was not great. The seat was tapped and overall just didn t feel clean to me. 3.5 out of 5 Price - we paid $22 for the plate plus the desert and one drink. Not bad for a bbq spot however, for the quality of food it s over priced to me. Overall, this place is much like it was a few years ago when I tried it. The food isnt smoked all the way through. The food does taste like left overs. I think with a few small adjustments they could be a good place to come for bbq. If they were to attempt to cook some of their sides fresh, revamp their desert options and smoke the meat all the way through, they could be a go to spot here in Lewisville. Unfortunately, the best thing we had there was the soft drink from the fountain machine. Sorry but, that s the truth. Hopefully, they can adjust.

The BBQ is baked not smoked. The sides were not good. The macaroni was mushy. The potato salad had the consistency of mashed potatoes. The sauce was watery and did not have much flavor. The staff were all very nice.

Big Jacks is the most underrated BBQ in DFW. Moist chicken and brisket, wonderful sides; and the service is always great too. Just a small bbq in the middle of Lewisville. But after living in DFW for eight years now, I can say with 100% certainly Big Jacks is one of the best.

Do not eat here. The pulled pork was as dry as a camel s rear in a desert storm, probably because they microwaved it right in front of us. The sides tasted like they were from the expired inventory of the walmart canned goods. The atmosphere was about as exciting as a Friday night bingo game at the local retirement home. All in all, I would have rather spent my $32.99 on a McRib from McDonalds.

Ordered the lunch special, brisket & sausage with some Mac and bbq beans. The brisket was tender but lacked deep flavor, it was easy to eat the entire serving. The bbq sauce was a little light on flavor as well. Mac was cheesy and the bbq beans were a little too tangy. Overall it was decent bbq I finished all the food on my plate. Made a half an hour drive just to try this place out! I was immediately greeted by the cashier which made me feel so welcomed. People say looks are deceiving but OH MAN.. this was something else!! Maybe a half step above Dickeys and thats not saying anything. This place is worse than the lubys LuAnn platter of BBQ. Mashed potatoes were gross and a strange grey color. The mac and cheese was runny and flavorless. The brisket needed sauce to even be tolerable. I ended up throwing away more than half of my plate. I never throw away bbq! My husband threw a lot of his away too. It was so bad. I have zero idea why anyone loves this place. Who hurt you? We should have asked for a refund but considered it a life lesson on what bad bbq is like. Whoever loves this place needs to try real bbq like Winners in Plano, Hutchins, or Patriotic Pig. This place is absolutely delicious! It was a complete accident that we found this restaurant. The meat is succulent and juicy. The bread is fried and buttered perfectly. The potato casserole was perfectly seasoned and next time I ll need to ask for sour cream (personal preference, has nothing to do with the casserole itself). The macaroni and cheese could stand to be a little more cheesy with some more seasoning, but was overall delicious. The ribs were fall-off the bone amazing. I am surprised this place isn t packed. I can t wait to come back here again!

Visited with friends who live nearby. Service was friendly and fast (counter service) and portions were good for the price. Biscuit was done perfectly but was just a tad dry without sauce. The sauce had a good flavor and was the runny variety. This actually worked great on the leftovers which absorbed the sauce overnight and made the meat very moist the next day. Veggies were tasty. The banana pudding looked good, and was devoured by those who got it. This could be a good local regular hangout 8f you live nearby, and definitely worth a visit driving by anytime.

This was some of the best BBQ Ive had in a while. The brisket and pulled pork were both very tender, the Mac and cheese exquisite, and the peach cobbler was delightful. 10/10 I will be coming back here again.

Whether youre a Texan or not, who doesnt love good barbecue? This restaurant is worth a visit. Because the small business is tucked away in a shopping center, it can easily be overlooked. However, its worth searching them out. The walk up order from the wall style menu offers combo meals, sandwiches, loaded brisket bake potatoes, and many other items. The brisket potato was a HUGH hit with one of my friends. The combo meal of brisket and sausage with the self served jalapeno pinto beans and coleslaw that I selected was very good. The atmosphere is pleasant and family friendly. The price point is good.

BBQ was very tasty, well smoked, well seasoned, and ribs were fall off the bone. The brisket was very dry however. I had the pork, ribs, and brisket with two sides. Coleslaw, like nearly every BBQ place I ve tried was needing of salt and pepper. Mac and cheese was flavorful with some garlic and onion notes which I ve found to be uncommon. The food was fresh and hot even on a slow day. Service is friendly and atmosphere is a great hole in the wall feel. Will definitely come back with a more well-rounded review.

I love the exterior look and old town feel of this place! Brings me back to my days going up in Lewisville. The brisket is lean and melts in your mouth!!!! Potato salad had more mustard that I personally prefer but I came for the barbecue! Jalapeño beans are full of spice with a good kick! If your in the area and are craving a carnivore meal! You gotta stop and eat here!

The food was okay. The options were limited and several of the sides were not hot. As a vegetarian I didnt have much to choose from. The meat eaters in the group said the meat was really good. It was pretty expensive for the quality as well.

The barbecue wasnt anywhere near as good as I thought it would be. It was kind of bland and not much if any smoke flavor. The macaroni was also very bland and not very appealing to the taste buds. This is a update as to why I lowered the review from 3 star to 1 star. The food made my coworker and I violently ill. I would definitely be hesitant about eating here.
