Very nice academy. Nice selection, spacious, and staff are very friendly. Could not find a Yeti cup I was getting for my wife even though the website said they had it and the store associate combed through the aisles and found the cup in a place I would not guessed to love for.

While shopping for a small soft ice chest at the Kyle, Texas Academy, I quickly became frustrated by the absence of price tags either attached to the items or to the display shelf. Upon inquiring about the problem, I was told to use a price scanner nearby, but it was dead. The employee also indicated that my experience could be the result of the YETI brand being very controlling about how their products were priced and handled by the retailer. But the issue applied to other brands as well. To be fair, the employee was also a little contrite about the situation. When I later asked a cashier (who was very nice and apologetic) for a manager, a young man appeared several minutes later and, though he was nice, he seemed a bit clueless on how to respond to my complaint. (I m not convinced he was a manager.) At that point I decided it would be easier to simply sit in my easy chair and feed Amazon.

This is not a friendly Academy Store. Had a legitimate return but was treated very poorly from the staff. It seems like this is a pattern at this location. I was very uncomfortable during the entire interaction. Will look for my future items at other camping stores in the area. The prices may be higher but the customer service is a lot better.

Apparently returns are down company wide. There wasn t a sign on the door- which could be helpful. Instead, I walk in with the greeter chatting with someone else and then she stops me very rudely to tell me that the system is down and she isn t sure when it ll be back up. No smile- not friendliness, then tries to be rude saying I m going out the wrong door. I noticed it said enter and was already moving to the other door. Be friendly and kind if you re in customer service. I dont live in kyle so this is going to be an inconvenient trip to return this item.

Great customer service! My wife purchased a specific item and Paul and Sarah both were very helpful, patient and very knowledgeable about the item my wife purchased and recommended some other items to her. Have always loved academy. I went here just to look around. And I found some texas style Crocs in my size. And they were on sale. But the sale tag had ended two days before. But the staff and manager still honored the sale. Thanks, guys. really appreciate u. And I love my crocs.

I needed some new shoes and I had a bad experience at another store. I figured I would pop in here to see if I could find something. The shoe department is a little chaotic. I get that the store is a little smaller than some other locations. The shoe department is not clearly marked Kids, Womens and Mens, not to mention that the types of shoes are all over the the place. You had to hunt for the right shoe. I find the pair of shoes I need, grab them and go to check out. The young lady who rang me up was very friendly and professional. She made up for my frustration with the shoe department. I did notice a guy in a truck with a camper shell selling Aqua Frescas in the parking lot. That was a tad bit awkward. You figure the Academy Manager would tell the guy that selling in their parking lot is a no no.

This store opened in Kyle a few months ago and has been a welcome addition. It saves shoppers the trip to Austin or San Marcos. The staff is always friendly, greeting guests with a smile. The store is clean and well-organized. Like any Academy, the seasonal gear is available when the sport is in season. I have not found anything particularly niche about this store, but were glad its here.

Paul provided outstanding customer service during my last visit. My purchase took about an hour and he displayed great product knowledge and treated my kids with respect through the transaction. I live in New Braunfels and travel past an Academy location because of the consistency with product availability and friendly staff in Kyle. Keep up the great work! 5 Stars

Workers are nice, store is clean, I just wish they had more leisure wear. I realize its a Sports and Outdoor, but after I swim or fish or workout I want to shower and put on cute comfy clothes (not leggings again). Sales rack said up to 50 off, however nothing was more than 30 off most items 15 off.

I had concerns with how small the Kyle store is in comparison to other locations but I just made a large purchase there and was thoroughly impressed with the employee that assisted my son and l. Franklin was friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. He made the purchase a very pleasant experience. I will definitely be returning to this location.

HORRIBLE! Worst Academy I have EVER been to. Let s start off by saying for a brand new store in the most popular and upcoming communities, this store is too small, it carries a fraction of the items a normal store would. And like other have said the isles are too small and cant hardly get through. Especially if you have a wheelchair. Now lets talk parking. MR Manager, your store does NOT meet current ADA guidelines you only have three ADA spaces for the size of parking lot is dismal at best and illegal to say the least. There were at least 5 disabled people there when we went and all had the same problem. One of the reasons I like Acadamy is because they usually have plenty of ADA space for our son. There at least 150 spaces available and only having three for ADA is a huge problem. Do not go to this store if you need anything because they wont have it and you cant park if you have a disability.

Brand new Academy opens September 23, 2023. Its not as big as some other locations. However, they have a large assortment of things to keep you busy. Its a good-looking store with friendly and helpful staff. The only drawback is the width of the aisles. Some of them will not fit 2 carts.
