I sure enjoy these small businesses for breakfast and lunch. We were in Kyle, and I wanted a home cooked breakfast but didnt want to make it myself. So I googled breakfast nearest me and looked for something besides big chain restaurants. I saw some of the photos were just the kind of breakfast I was looking for late in the day. I am so looking forward to trying other menu items in the near future. Im willing to drive from downtown Austin to Kyle for it. Thats how good they are. Its a great family owned and operated restaurant. The owner was our waitress, and her son was running the driver through.

This place was very average at best. Its not bad. Its not good. Had a potato, egg and cheese a chorizo and egg and a migas. They were all just okay. The cheese was super weird. Like a slice of craft or that weird nacho cheese stuff.

The food was delicious. The only thing youre missing is homemade tortillas. One thing, though. Check your prices on the menu and compare them to what theyre charging you. Because I had ordered a Chorizo plate, I had a price of 10.99, and I asked the waitress. What came on the plate. She said I could have it with eggs or just chorizo a la mexicana . So thats what I ordered. chorizo a la mexicana. And a sweet tea to go. They gave me a total of 19.98, so I asked her what they had charged me on the plate. She said they had charged me 14.99 because the chorizo didnt have any egg. I mentioned to her that in the menu. It said 10.99. Did not say anything about the way you order it. Anyway, they gave me $2.25 back. So I think they still overcharge me. Cause my plate 10.99 +, say 4.00 for tea. I should have gotten 5.01 minus texas. From $20.

Hit this little taco spot on the way to Temple, Texas. And soo glad we did. Service was great and the breakfast tacos where heavy loaded lol. Could barely finish one, When I normally can eat two. New place for us! So good. We felt very welcome and at home as soon as we walked in the door! The whole family was telling us good morning and the service was excellent. I had the cheese mole enchiladas, my husband had three different tacos and enjoyed them and my daughter LOVED the horchata. We had three different salsas that were so good - love the variety! OMG! This was a great place for breakfast! Maps was a little confusing with directions, but worth the effort. I was with a friend and we both had tacos. She had eggs, cheese and bacon; I had barbacoa. Sooo delish! Go try it. A bit cozy, but not too bad. Very wallet friendly! Vegetarian options: Of course Mexican food can always go vegetarian. I just have to say that I was shocked when the guy handed me my food and told me the price of my order. I ordered a small caldo de pollo, one carne guisada taco, one al pastor taco, and a coke. Their food is always fresh, made to order, and the ingredients are top notch. This has been the only place I ve found in Central Texas to do machacado correctly. This is AUTHENTIC Mexican food! It is a hole in the wall kind of place, so that right there tells you that the food is going to be good! You drive up and order from the window. First time trying out this local, family owned spot. Could be described as a little dive of a restaurant, with some great authentic Mexican/TexMex food. The service was also exceptional, with staff being very attentive and asking us regularly if we needed anything. We will be back! Weve visited El Roble several times and have not been disappointed. The good is delicious and cooked to order nice and hot. We once went thru the the drive thru, on a somewhat lite moment, theres almost always a line of hungry people picking up their favorite foods. We happened upon this place during a car breakdown and couldn t have asked for a better place to be stranded. The staff was very friendly! The food was great! The restaurant is To-Go only at the moment. They have a drive thru window, and staff came outside the take orders. My wife loves spicy food and she had their Spicy Chilaquiles. She ate nearly everything, but had to stop because she drank two bottles of water! So if youre looking for spicy, its highly recommended. We tried their Pork tamales and they were great. A bit on a smaller side from what we are used to in Austin. Definitely planning to come back.

The best Menudo Ive had at a restaurant, like having it at home and! and fresh home made corn tortillas! Staff extremely nice, always happy. The address they had listed on old Lockhart road was incorrect, its on old hwy 81, I suggested the edit so hopefully it gets corrected.. other than that I highly recommend eating here.

Weve loved El Roble ever since their first location in San Marcos. The staff in Kyle are always so friendly. Their breakfast tacos are fresh and delicious every time. The line always looks long but theyre extremely efficient! Only thing that can be improved is the bacon they use because its way too chunky.

Great little place for breakfast. Passing though town and some family recommended this place as a stop. We met up at El Roble and caught up over breakfast. First, This is not a big place, that being said, seems most folks opt for the drive thru which was never empty when we were there. great. Second, Its a hole in the wall. Theres not a bunch of money spent on decor and I love it. The food speaks for itself. I had a plate of Eggs over easy and barbacoa. The barbacoa was spot on and it was clean. Service was friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. This will be a spot we stop for a meal going forward. Well done.

El Roble is a gem in the southern suburbs of Austin. The place is run by doña Martha and her family and their warmth is contagious. The quality of the food is great and consistent. The breakfast tacos are amazing, as well as the tortilla soup. Chilaquiles here are one of the best we ve ever tried, anywhere, and by that we mean Mexico too. Our favorite breakfast place in all of Texas, hands-down.
