The food is exceptional! Flavorful, fresh, and portions are definitely worth the price! The place needs some TLC, but theyre definitely putting their time where it counts... the food. However, the service, or lack thereof, is what has me thinking this is more of an order-to-go than a dine in. There was no cashier/waitress in place. The cook comes out to take your order, needless to say the place is susbstantially under staffed. Drinks are not listed in the menu, so if you dont specifically ask for coffee, you wouldnt know they serve it. The atmosphere is very nostalgic of a small town restaurant and nice in that way. Again, the food is phenomenal!

Horrible service with a very bad attitude on the part of the owner. I asked him to make me 2 more pupusas and he replied that that would not be possible since I had many orders and I was half eaten. I felt so embarrassed I would have understood if he had told me that I had to Wait longer because he had more orders before mine but he only responded that he couldnt sell me any more. Apart from that, the coffee looks like water with sugar. They no longer offer sauce for the pupusas and they dont give you the choice of the pickle you want alone. They make you spicy, they give you what they want

First and last time here. Over price for little food. Charge extra drinks and food barely had any ingredients. No coffee for breakfast? My waffle was 9 dollars for just 1 small waffle and some strawberry and banana says it comes with blueberries but no blueberries or syrup. Way to expensive for the food quality. Do not recommend.

I love the pupusas here, its a Must try, even if you arent used to eating Salvadorian cuisine, you will probably become a Fan very quickly! The owner is always calm and friendly and busy cooking in the back. I have brought many friends here and they all agree on the great taste and Value of the food for the price! The Plato Salvadoreño típico was also delicious with a variety of chicharrón, sweet corn tamal, a pupusa and fried yuca and some Salvadorian style cream to dip in. Delicious.

The only thing I would say is the eggs couldve been cooked a little bit longer but other than that tasted good! I loved the bear pictures on the wall throughout the restaurant! The gentleman was very friendly and ran the place by himself. The only other thing I would say that could be different is on the menu it said this came with 4 tenders and my bf went and asked and he said unfortunately it only comes with 3 now and that he needed to change it on the menu. Also, dont go off of the menu on Google he only does the items on the menu in the restaurant.

I don t know how the flying ____ this place has a high review. Our chair broke was sitting down. The carpet is literally black from mold and other old food. The rice was hard. Everything around you is broken or destory The waitress is completely clueless She can t talk in English OR Spanish The fish took almost a hour and it was black I ask for coffee and milk and they gave me American coffee. Three times we ask for our first drinks and we never got it. We ask for the check and had to pretend to walk out to give it to us The food had zero favor (the place was basically empty and she was texting so it wasnt a busy issue) It s a shame because people don t know better and it s located in Killeen where there is no real Hispanic places. Just ghetto places like this. Pollo tropical will mop the floor with this place. Like seriously. If you want to see the menu, you have to stand up and go to the front of this restaurant to look at it. Im 100% calling the health inspector on them. This is unbelievable. Even bugs I saw.

We ate at Waffle Bear last week, and we were so impressed. The food is amazing. I highly recommend the pork chops and papusas, but we enjoyed everything that we tried. We lucked up finding this spot after the original waffle spot we were going to go had a 15min wait line and another 50min wait for breakfast. I am so glad we found Waffle Bear! Everything was delicious and absolutely fresh! I tried the Cheech and the combination of eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes and mozzarella were a true hit for me!! My husband had a breakfast as well and order an iced coffee & I have to say we were both pleasantly surprised at how good that coffee was (& I am not a coffee drinker). We ordered to go but the next time well dine in. Its a nice quaint little Cafe.

If I could give a zero star I would have. First they have a 10 year old child playing host. This will be reported to the proper authorities. My mom ordered and gave me an address on Rancier it was not there. I looked online and found an address on 8th Street and walked in and was greeted by a 10 year old. Ive been to this place twice, and they dont know how to cook eggs at all. Ive asked for over easy both times, and they have thoroughly overcooked the egg yolks. This last time I went, I got my order and the bacon was barely cooked. I mentioned this to the owner when he came to ask how the food was, and as soon as I mentioned the word bacon he walked away from me without me. He then came back with a defiant attitude and told me hes not a cook, hes an infantryman. So if you dont wanna have an unpleasant experience trying to get cooked food from this place, Id stay away.

I asked for over easy eggs. I was brought half cooked slimy scrambled eggs. When I sent it back, the cook came out with an attitude standing over me with plate I sent back saying they dont do over easy and thats why she cooked scrambled that way. I just said to cancel it please, because she was rude. My had fiance asked for an ice coffee off the menu and the cook was saying he had no idea how to make an ices coffee. My customer service experience was probably the worst. Waiter came over and asked us what to drink. After i asked him for some waters a juice, he pointed to the fridge for us to get up and grab the bottle of water and juice from the fridge. Its not his fault since im pretty sure he was doing as he was told. That goes to show how bad the management really is to alloy a employee treat customers like that. Place had random stuff everywhere. Just seems like owner does not care about the facility. The food came over well presented and was very delicious. The worst decision wafflebear could ve done was to merge with cafe Latino. Waffle bear, the food is delicious and comes out fast never had a problem since I ve been here until the merge. You got random people standing who ordered from cafe Latino and the wafflebear staff not knowing so he ask if they want waffle bear. I don t if wafflebear was struggling and needed the extra money but cafe Latino needs to find another spot. And the waiter needs to work on his communication skills a bit. Inside was very nice and clean, waiter was very courtious. I loved that there was no line on a sunday! It is a hidden breakfast shop. The food was decent, I was in the mood for a regular ol belgium waffle. I wasnt wowd by the food. I like my waffles with butter and syrup. When I asked for butter I was given liquid butter. My rating is not a five because I did not get to eat my waffles the way I like them, with regular butter. This might have changed my rating if I got to fully enjoy my breakfast.

First off this is a hidden gem. We had a pleasant experience and can say the staff was genuinely happy to help. This is counter service for the most part. Since the restaurant wasnt busy they sat us and gave menus. We were given great service by Darrin and the food is absolutely amazing. The waffle was perfectly cooked and the eggs and grits were perfection. My recommendations are Cheech or Closing time. Definitely large portions and service was fast.

This establishment serves some delicious food for sure! My cousin had the cheech while I had the wakey wakey. I never remember to take photos but the portions are very generous and we got ours stacked on top of our waffle. The waffle alone is so good and devoured quickly. I like the feel of the place but it was a bit warm and I wish the waiter while speak with a bit more confidence. He does a great job and is young but it can be a little difficult to hear him. Took my girlfriend there for the first time, we were the only people there and the service was not as great as we hoped. Came in and the dude just placed the menus on the corner of the table and left. Didnt even ask if we wanted anything to drink, so we ended up having to grab our own drink from their fridge. Please go here! Its an out of the box take on breakfast food.They make waffles and pile them with usual breakfast food in unique combinations. So you could have something like a waffle with eggs, bacon, and red potatoes. Or a waffle with ice-cream, they have one covered with berries and whipped cream. Once we went and ate one with kimchi locally sourced. The kimchi was delicious and so was the waffle! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner the first time we visited. He was really hospitable.

Took my wife here for the first time today it was excellent. Nice little atmosphere reminds me of an old school ma and pa joint. Definitely will return the waitress was courteous and reliable despite the restaurant being filled.

The food was phenomenal. I loved the variety of waffles they had. It was very creative and different. The service was...... interesting. Perhaps it was because she was the only waitress, but she literally came to give us our check IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR MEAL. It was the physical card reader. So we had to stop eating to pay the check. I have never experienced anything like that in my life. So Im going to chalk that up to her being alone in the restaurant. Im definitely going to eat there again, but if that happens again, I probably wont return.

Good service, outstanding customer service and always take care of us making sure our food was good and well done. They care about their customers. Great menu options! We were the only people eating there so it was very nice due to how quiet and peaceful the atmosphere was but I doubt they are always that slow. The plates my wife and I got were both extremely delicious. The server was friendly and helpful. The food was quickly served and well prepared. Will definitely visit again!

Great place for delicious hearty waffles amongst other great menu items! They have many different savory topped waffles including chicken and waffles of course. My faves are the Cheech and Yeti! Both are very delicious! The staff are extremely nice and helpful as well! Love it!

This place isnt much to look at but it doesnt need to be when the food is as good as it is. Its clean, family friendly, laid back and we felt very comfortable there even with my severely autistic son and 2 year old daughter. The staff are friendly and timely with there service and the food! Well all I can say about the food is it was amazing, my daughter has been talking about it for an hour non stop she loved it so much. With a mixture of both sweet and savory there is something for everyone at every time of the day. We will most certainly be going back. It is a perfect location just down the street from the fort hood Street gate on Rancier so you dont have to go far off post. Once people discover this gem I expect it to be very popular!

There is not another breakfast spot that can compare to the Waffle Bear! Staff was friendly and the food was outstanding! I ordered the Omar to go, and it came out quickly with the most amazing aroma coming from the bag. My waffle came loaded with eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, and cheddar cheese! With all that meat onto of the waffle, I was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt salty, and the savory paired well with the sweet cakeness of the waffle. Do yourselves a favor and try Waffle Bear!!
