With high-quality made-to-order burgers, a ‘come as you are’ environment and a strange reverence for Chuck Norris, there’s no place else quite like Twisted Root. Way back before ‘gourmet burgers’ was a thing, Chefs Jason Boso & Quincy Hart decided to build a restaurant around half-pound, fresh ground burgers with a menu that allowed customers to build their own burgers with a list of crazy and inventive toppings. The two met in culinary school, after jobs in stock brokerages and telephone line repair. After paying their dues working the line at The Four Seasons & Pappas Bros, Jason & Quincy finally opened Twisted Root Burger Co. in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas, Texas in 2006. Twisted Root appeared on the second season of Diners, Dr

I try not to leave poor reviews, but I had to for the protection of others. This was the most unsanitary restaurant I ve ever been to. I was there for more than 3 hours with my family. During that ENTIRE time, there was no soap in the restroom. I mentioned it twice, and they just nodded. How do the staff wash their hands?! When picking up my food from the counter, I was swiping away flies. Then, my burger was undercooked and pink! The margaritas were large but not well-made. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff was nice.

We came in from out of state and ate a burger for lunch... it was so delicious we decided to come back the next night to have another one ! It was late about 20 minutes before closing. The manager Ryan was so pleasant and gracious and made us another amazing burger.. cannot recommend this place enough to you. Get the chipotle burger.. you wont regret it!! Kid-friendliness: Outdoor area plus lots of great things to look at inside!

Love the patio out back. Service was friendly and helpful. Got a burger with wagyu, which was delicious, but they were out of most of their exotic meats that day. Was really going for ostrich. Fries tasted funny, like the paprika they were coated in was a little burnt, maybe. Not great, but Id go back and not get the fries.

Western burger was fantastic even 6 years after trying this place for the first time. Sweet potatoe fries are addictive and absolutely love the different pickles you get to try here. The Horseradish Dijon mustard is a must, and I really wish their cream soda was sold in stores. Have thoroughly enjoyed every time Ive been to a Twisted Root.

My wife & I had grubhub orders from Twisted Root in Coppell. She had a burger on Texas Toast with onion strings on the side. I had a burger on Texas Toast with hand-punched fries on the side. The grubhub order was picked up & delivered promptly, so no issues with that. The burger meat was good. The Texas Toast mushy-wet & inedible. The onion strings were practically raw. The fries were very overcooked nub-lets. We both picked at our meals as best we could, ate most of the meat, but trashed the rest. Been a long time since we last ate there, but this is strike 3. It never gets better.

It was very clean here, the music was great and their home made BBQ sauce was mouth watering. I must add that the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I wasnt able to take a picture of my food because after the first bite, I couldnt stop. Its also very affordable and family and pet friendly. The bathrooms are very cute and clean.

The only thing I can find wrong with Twisted Root is that the locations are all 2 states away from my home which means I cant eat there all the time!! The menu is diverse for all types of picky preferences, the food choices hard to choose from, the service is top notch, the prices are competitive, the restaurants are uniquely interesting, the servings are large and anything you order will be divine (especially if it has goat cheese!).

First off, I looove Twisted Root! The one in Deep Ellum is the bomb, as well as the one in Bedford. This one in Coppell was a serious disappointment to say the least. All of our burgers were ordered medium rare to which all of them were served well done and bone dry. All burgers were ordered wagu and you honestly couldnt tell due to them being so overcooked. The fries were room temperature and onion strings were all grease. Finally, the soda fountain(s) were dispensing awful tasting soda. (definitely something wrong with the mixing setting) What made it worse is the fact my family met us half way between theyre homes in Prosper and ours in Keller to celebrate a birthday. We shouldve sent all of the food back and thats on us, but we know that not everyone is on their A-game every day. I was a small business retail service owner and know the drill. Please management, check with your employees (who all were very nice) on quality control. You have too good of a product to have this happen. Thanks and good luck!

Ill keep it short. I live in Galveston but from now on, every time Im near the DFW area, I will plan to make lunch or dinner happen at Twisted Root Burger Co.. The long: They offer top-notch chef designed burgers with your option of protien. I had camel, which tastes like beef but slightly sweeter, and I reccomend it with the herbed goat-cheese and chipotle jam burger. If your a purist like my wife youll be happy with the traditional cheese burger as well. She said we can come back which is her second highest praise next to can you make this for us at home. I only ran into two problems upon my initial visit which was that the food is too amazing; the craft sodas and watermellon sweet tea are also too amazing. This will make it hard for me to choose whether to try something new or have that which has already achieved prefection--a great problem too have. The other problem is that I live too far away to visit on the regular. P.S. Please open a Galveston location. Parking: Its in a shopping center so there is no up front parking but the walk it very short. On a busy shopping day parking may be more difficult buy dont let that stop you. Twisted Root Burger Co. is a top notch dining spot and the shopping center is upscale, clean, and nice. Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu with burgers, grilled cheese sandwich, and chicken strip options.

This place was filthy! Every surface sticky and dirty. Floors, tables, beverage island, pickle barrels, condiment bottles and Buzzer thingy. Flies everywhere. Dirty pickle barrel lid was broken and fell into the pickles when I tried to open it. Staff hygiene questionable. Dirty clothes and greasy hair. Food is pretty good but the condiment prep area for the staff looked like the containers hadn t been cleaned or freshened in quite some time. Food poisoning waiting to happen?

What a great burger joint. Burger was cooked to perfection and flavorful. Went with the basic beef cheeseburger (Big Tex with house made guacamole, chipotle sauce and fried onion strings) and original twisted cheese fries. The buns were nice and soft as if they were made in-house. They also make their own sodas and pickles which are in large barrels which is awesome; will try buffalo, camel, etc. burger next time.

Everything was just ok. The drinks colas and teas weren t very good. The pickles were ok but the lid was broken on one so you try to lift it off and it falls in the pickles. Can t imagine that being too sanitary. The sauces weren t great. The burgers seemed tender and tasted ok but also seemed like a frozen patty. But don t know for sure. We ate at one of these years ago when they first opened the chain and we remember it being a lot better than this experience. Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free so their fries are fried in a separate fryer and they have an Udi s gf bun.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. They sell camel burgers!!!!!!! And ostrich burgers!!!!! I was so amazed and excited all at once. They make their own sodas and their own flavorflul pickles. I felt like a kid seeing all the different options. I got the regular cheeseburger with wagyu. My date got the Millionaire. It was soooo good, we finished every bit. Very filling, made to order, the area is exceptionally nice as well. And they have a full bar. We ll definitely be back

Neutral: The food was very inoffensive, which some people may enjoy. Pros: They had a lot of options for the type of meat you wanted for your burger. Their fries had a very nice seasoning on it. They also had vegetarian options for meat. Vegetarian options: Yes, they had vegetarian options for meat.

Order to go. They left off the tomato and lettuce from my online order... When I called in, they blamed me for leaving it off my online order. The Online order form only has an option for No lettuce and No tomato implying that it was default included. No help or attempt to make it right.

I ve been to the Arlington location before it s vibey, has a theme, draws people, and their character is great. I love the concept as well as their unlimited pickles! But the manager of this Coppell location, the day I went, was super friendly. It was pretty slow during lunch on the weekday, so they fully serviced us which was greatly appreciated! He also recommended the seasonal fried vegetable side, and it was surprisingly pleasant. Overall very good experience. Also loved how on the Gosh Jam It burger, they put extra jam on it. Made it taste exceptionally better.
